Thanks for the photo of Mocha Pat, his 'friend' looks bigger than him. Nice sunny day today and tomorrow is meant to be even better. Halfway through cleaning the kitchen so won't stay on here too long, unlike yesterday, didn't get anything done.

That's lucky Kim ,finding a photo of your monk's family, can't remember what relation he is to you or how far back he goes, where did you find the photo. Wish I could have more photos, only have one of my gran and grandad and nothing before them. A photo makes them more real somehow.

Afternoon Everybody
Been dull but not to cold.
Went out for coffee this morning , then met daughter no 1 & Sofia in town for lunch, daughter wanted to look for more trousers and underwear since losing a bit of weight, having a break from babysitting as SIL off work today,
Well finely we may have a new minister for my church, our old minister retired last year, but as we didn't have a new one to take over he kept doing the Sunday services up untill Christmas, and then we have had other retired ministers filling in while a new minister was found, an advert was sent out to local comunities for a new minister and a group of people from our congregation were nominated to form a commitie and find a new minister so after many visits to other churches and interviews over the last 10mnths a new minister has been chosen, SHE is 36 years old , single and is a minister at the moment in a church in Edinburgh, she will be coming to preach on 29th April and then we will hold a vote to see if the rest of the congregation are happy with her. We have never had a woman minister at St Johns.

Afternoon All,
Another dull, but dry day here. My fleece has been on the line drying for 2 days now!! OH forgot to say it was sodden when he pegged it out. I would have put it on spin again first, but daren't say anything......don't want to put him off any jobs he does!! :-D I think I may have to wash it through again while he is out tonight.
Kim, it is a real thrill when you get a photo isn't it.......I wish I could find more too. I have none of my grandparents one side and none of my gt grandparents. Sorry if I said this before, but the other lady doing the Record Office talks had a photo of her grandfather in 1912 sitting on his father's knee, behind him was her gt gt grandfather and gt gt gt grandfather!!! How lucky to have a photo like that with 4 generations on!!
Thanks for the pic of Mocha Pat. I bet he is trying to play with his new friend like he was with your daughter's dogs. It's good he is well again now.
Fiona, I bet there will be some who won't be keen on having a woman! I bet she will be wondering how she will go down with folk too.
I had a surprise parcel through the post this morning. It was from my schoolfriend. She has gone through her dad's wartime notes he made and written a small booklet about his experiences in the Navy, mostly on a minesweeper and has sent me a copy! I have read some of it and it is very interesting, being about everyday life and includes the pranks they got up to! Her dad ran an ironmogers shop after the war which was opposite where we lived soon after we moved to Leicester. She has put a photo of the shop window in the booklet. I'm not sure when it was taken, but it had all sorts that I had forgotten he used to sell or in fact that ironmogers did sell years ago. Things in the window I don't remember are 'Dip', 'Everlasto', 'Paste Wax' and 'Sherdley Table China'. There is an advertising banner too saying 'Skelton Tools are Too good to Lend'!! lol I remember he sold canes which my friend and I would be allowed to build jumps in the garden with, as long as we did not push them in the soil so they couldn't be sold!!!
Think I will whizz out in the garden and plant up that pot before I lose the 'will' to do it!! :-|

Afternoon everyone,
It's been a dull day here until about half an hour ago ,now we have blue sky and a little sun !! Been to Sandringham this morning ,went into the little shop ,got some of the jewelry ,a necklace for sisters birthday, a necklace for my self and a nice chunky watch for DIL's birthday . We stopped and had a coffee and i had to go to the loo , i've never seen a hand dryer like the one in there before ,it had a blue light that shone down on your hands as they dried ,would it be one that shows if you have washed your hands properly ?? (ultra violet )
We then went on to the coast and had the compulsory fish and chips !! It was really misty at the coast ,you couldn't see much out to sea .
Pat ,i don't have the photo's , i think i missed the last ones too. Working in the charity shop could work out expensive if you keep buying things every time you work there LOL
Fiona,we have a lady vicar here too, she seems very nice .

I have had a bit of the cleaning bug today :-D :-D.Trouble is I can't really see much difference :-S.I need to take the bedroom curtains down to wash ,but will wait until I can be sure they dry and can go back up the same day.
I think it is great having a Monk Kim,and especially a picture now too. I have never seen any photos of my Maternal Gr Parents. I do have a photo of my Birth Grandfather with all his brothers, and 1 pic of my Birth Gt Gt Grandmother. She reminds me of me when I was about the age she is in the photo(maybe early teens). When I look at that photo I find it very strange to think that after more than 50 years I have these pictures.
I am having trouble looking up something :-D :-D Don't know if someone might have a little look for me?
These are the details I have. Arthur Ernest Hawkins....born 26th April 1917 London(?Greenwich) Died 8th September 1999 Yorkshire. Now he married a Dorothy I Chippindale in 1963.She was his second wife. I am trying to find his first marriage and details of his son.....also Arthur. I am just guessing but I think son Arthur would have been born in Greenwich.
Why when I put in details of Arthur Ernest in GR it keeps coming back saying no matches (and I know I put it in right) :-S
Well after yet another cloudy day ,the sun has come out :-D :-D

Hi Folks,
I've come to pour my troubles into where I know I can get some sympathy. Carmel & I went on the bus into Nuneaton this morning, and during the course of the trip Carmel had her purse stolen out of her handbag. The trouble is she only used it to pay out a few pence at our first port of call, a crowded charity shop, where we got split up. She didn't notice it was gone until we were just ready to get the bus home and were buying a few bits for our tea. The shock was something awful for her, but my reaction was, don't panic (where have we heard that before!) back to the first shop in case you left it on the counter etc. No luck, but they could time our visit by the till roll. Then we had to traipse to the Police station to report it, get a crime number and try and recall what was in it. Flipping nuisance to be polite. First call was on the mobile to our bank to get her card cancelled but nobody had used it thankfully. Her bus pass was in it but the driver just thumbed us back to a seat. So, I've been on the phone all afternoon since we got back as she recalled what was in it. Tesco card, Carers emergency card, Social Security etc etc. Most are cancelled and reordered, new library card when we are in our town, call in the Council Office to get her new bus pass. There was £30 in it & some change so I think we can kiss that off.
Unless some crook nicks the cash & dumps it, maybe someone will hand it. I wouldn't mind but usually her bag is between us and she has one of those bells the police issue to warn of attempted theft. It was just the trauma of it that hit her, and everyone was so kind when they heard of her loss.
Just to cap it all, I've mislaid my car key and search as I might they still haven't turned up. Good job I've got the spare, but I'm convinced they're here somewhere. I've had a word with St Anthony, so maybe he'll show me where they are, he doesn't usually let me down.
So there you have it, you don't hear from me for a few days and here I am with a sob story. Luckily she doesn't keep her keys in her purse, so we didn't have to change the locks at least.
Excuse me folks, I'm off to take a couple of paracetm*ls.. . . . .

Well, I got the pot planted up, couldn't split the little yellow Hosta from the other pot as I could only see 2 shoots, yet it seemed to take over the pot last year. Maybe it is a bit early for them all to be showing so will check again in a week or two. Did a bit of clearing up too and tidied the greenhouse. I walked back inside and the smoke alarm in the hall was dangling from the ceiling!! It is next to the loft hatch so I bet OH caught it when he was up and down the loft. Why do these things always happen when he is out!!
Looks like Foggy has beaten us to it Jane!! Is it one of your rellies?
Mandy, I bet it was nice to see the sea and smell the air. Mmmmm and mmmmm for those F&C too! You had a good spend then at the little shop.....might be needing one of these jewellery hangers!!!! lol. Am sending on Pat's photo to you..

Hi Foggy But which is the right marriage??? I do know his mothers name was Nelan. It is the son I am really trying to find.He could still be alive. Thanks for that info ,any more gratefully accepted :-D :-D
Oh William.I know just how Carmel is feeling.I had my purse stolen from my handbag at Stansted Airport just as we were leaving for a holiday in Italy. It really shakes you up. I'm sure you will find your keys.Maybe with all the hoo ha you just can't put your hands on them right now. These people that steal from you don't give a damn all the upset it causes and all the hassle you have of cancelling cards etc . I also had my handbag stolen at Leicester railway station some years ago.I had a lot of cash in there.Luckily I was able to prove to the insurance people that I had withdrawn that amount out from the bank ,and I was refunded it.minus the excess. You both take it easy now. <3 <3

I think it must be the marriage to Nichols in 1943 that Foggy found. Her name was Ruby J E Nichols and they did have a son with the name Arthur born in 1945 that Foggy also found.
Poor Carmel William. There are so many Tea Leafs about these days. I bet you both feel 'drained' by now after sorting out the aftermath. I bet in all the flurry of sorting things out you have put you keys somewhere silly!! It is the sort of thing I would do. I'm sure you have, looked, but might you have dropped them in the car? Put them away with the shopping?
Sorry to hear the back and hip have been giving you jyp Shirl.......try a patch!!

Oh William I know just how Carmel must feel. It does cause a stir to the usual routine.
Been busy all day today. Phantom Bantam tried to sleep on oh's l;athe again tonight. He had moved the rest right up the end but she still managed to get on it, the crafty little hen.
Shirl I do hope you feel better tomorrow. Try a patch as Ann said.
Hav'nt had to cook tonight as oh out ringing and he said he would have toasted cheese sandwiches when he comes in so I have done those and they just have to go under the grill.
