I've finally made a start in the garden, hope I don't lose the momentum now I've come in for lunch, there is so much to do out there and I've only done the decking so far and I want to get all the garden waste out for recycling before the 1st April when they stop collecting it. It's one of those warmer out than in days.

I had an operation for Carpal Tunnel many years ago Mandy and I've never had a problem with it since. It was the most painful thing I have ever experienced, more so than labour, so was really glad I didn't have to wait too long for the op.

I'd better get back to the garden, Alfie loves it when I'm out there keeps hopping up and down the garden and pouncing on the broom while I'm trying to sweep.

David you have probably burst a blood vestle in your eye. It will clear in a few days but may get worse first!! I have a friend who is a ringer and his eye is always doing it. Sometimes if you have had a bang into something it will happen. As we get older our skin thins out and is more prone to this type of thing.

HELLO EVERYONE SORRY I HAVE NOT BEEN ON MY HUBBIES BEEN IN HOSPITAL.

Today is beautiful here although starting to cloud up now. Just had a walk with Jasper and there was a little dog show over the park. About a dozen doggies. Well this lady took Jasper off me and I dashed off to get my purse because it was for charity. When I got back the same lady was trying to stick a bow on a clip top knot style in Jaspers hair .When he saw me he suddenly growled really loud and chased the poor women who fled across the park. i think he had enough of being preened.

I found out this poor lady was called Janice and she thought Jasper was a female dog .Poor Jasper. Janet admitted she had not got her correct glasses on and had not looked to see what sex the doggie was.

Well Jasper ended up in the male terrior section being only two he did not have much competition and anyway disgraced himself by doing a small
wee up the poor judge. Jasper had to sit off his lead He sat but came to me not the judge so he did not get a prize of a bag of biscuits. A lot of laughs from the other doggie owners and that was that.

My hubby had to go into hospital for 4 days he had a bad chest infection and he came out of hospital loaded with anti biotics which did his head in.True Grit is on this afternoon the film on tv . Hubbiy is sat goggling
at that. . He sits saying what John Wayne says before he says it. He is such a barrel of fun .My ho makes me wait while he repeats word for word the next bit .

April s friend is called Sherman not Herman. Jessie said he is a nice boy
but very fat and eats crisps all the while about eight packetds a day.

It seems it is very remote the house and about a mile to any big shops although there are several smaller ones . The local people all know each and they are not very friendly . Jessica is very shy and I told her to give it time. April loves the beach and shes collecting shells and painting them,

I had my lunch with a blackbird today I put bread out for him and he comes and sits right close to me. I sat outside to get a break from the shop with my cucumber sandwiches . The blackbird flew onto the seat sharing the bread. I think it maybe a girl I do not know about birds much but this bird is very scared and really makes noises when it sees a cat.
but still sits .
I DO HOPE EVERYONE IS OK. I will be catching up with reading the threads I managed to get on here without much bother. Have missed everyones messages . I was so busy I never touched the computor for days.

The council are starting to tarmac the whole of our Lane on Saturday
and no cars can get up or down . My hubby is not very happy. I hate it when they tarmac it smells so horrible fancy starting on a Saturday. The last time was ten years ago but I remember how awful it was ,Nobody could get in or out. I am having a light perm on my hair Monday and I hope the hairdresser can get to me.

Well have a nice day ...Take care everyone love from SHEILA. About stockings. I have stockings on today and a suspender belt. I had hold up stockings and one fell down in the city centre I just yanked it up and it fell down again when getting on the bus. It was right round my ankle I had to take them both off could not get my feet back in my shoes sat without any. When I got off the bus there was a man sat next to me I said excuse me to get out and said Oh dear I have lost my shoes . He looked gob smacked and bent down and handed them to me .I just popped my feet in them and got off the bus. I had big cuts in my legs at the top when I got back the flipping things were too tight. I liked the shiny sparkling ones from A big well known store but they were useless to wear.

Afternoon Folks!

Well, I'm pooped now and have just showered and got a cuppa. OH has gone off to do some clerking and will go on to a local match after.

I took the stuff to the dogs home this morning and I went for a look around their little shop while I was there. The ladies were telling me they had rehomed a beautiful Dalmation today. Both the ladies had rescue dogs themselves and one had a lurcher cross so I asked her if she she had any problem with it chasing furry things or would it leave them alone when called. It was interesting that both the ladies said they could not let their dogs off the lead at all as they wouldn't come back. It made me think that that is how some of the dogs end up at rescue centres as they just run off, don't come back and get lost. I like this particular dogs home as they never put a dog down. They even have a few dogs that are so wild they can't be touched and they live out their lives in kennels with larger runs out on the grass. I bet the vet has trouble with those!!

Everything is back in the loft now and everywhere is straight again, so we just need to have a good clean up and then we can start on outside!! I have managed to find a yellow pot to match one I bought last year. That has yellow leafed and variegated leafed plants in it so I shall split those to plant up the new pot as well and then I can have a pot each side of the new arbour when it is in place. :-D

The new young grey and white tabby came up the garden while I had poked my head in the greenhouse. We don't see much of the plain tabby one now, he seems to favour the other end of the close where they live.....likes lying in the middle of the road!!!!!!! This one miaows but won't quite come up to you yet. It loves chasing flies and was soon haring across the garden after one!! I hope it will be a nice pussycat and not leave any presents or I shall be trying William's tactics!! ;-)

Sorry to hear your OH was in hospital Sheila, hope he's on the mend now.

April's 'little' friend sounds like a typical young American, perhaps she can educate him into healthier eating. Shame the natives aren't friendly I guess it does take time. I think Jessie is very brave starting a new life for her and her family. I've never tried holdups, don't think I will now Sheila after reading your misadventure with them, I'm always in jeans anyway.

Don't think that cat can have many of his 9 lives left Ann if he lies in the middle of the road. I've found Alfie's 'toilet' now since I've been giving the garden a good clear. Think I'd better cut down his dose of Lactulose, the vet did warn me, won't go into detail :-0 :-0

Just come in for a cup of tea and will get back out again. Saw an interesting programme on food, they reckon you should leave the tea bag in for a minimum of 3 minutes to allow it to release it's antioxidents (sp) preferably up to 9 mins. but don't think it would taste that good by then.

Right must go and do some tea now read most of the threads.
Shirl sorry I forgot your birthday will pop you something in the post.

ANNX Thank you for your lovely thread about Michelle and Mohsen and the other people who commented I will show her them she is very down at present.Sure the messages will help her through this low. THANKS JANE AND MEL.

Kim hope your feeling better what with floods and things. My nephew commented he is coming home and visiting me in July. I am upset he will not have his wife she was a sweet person. I am hoping to see Emily his daughter. Hope your little cat had a nice birthday.

William little Grace sounds lovely a little angel.

Mel how are you I hope your hubbies blood pressure will not be serious.

Had to stop reading up at the 8th of March. Jaspers pulled out all the crisps in the hall and devoured two packets.

Sheila ,I'm sorry your OH was so ill he had to have a hospital stay.Hopefully he is on the road to recovery now.
I'm sure that Jessica will get to know people.Sometimes it does take time and especially if she is a bit on the shy side. How lovely for April though that she has her pal Sherman.I bet she really enjoys searching the beach for treasures.

Maureen is Alfies loo all in the same place ?Or does he take advantage and spread it around? :-S :-S

Ann,I like the sound of that Dogs Home, but how difficult it must be to have dogs that can't be touched :-S

Well I have had my hair cut this afternoon, slightly different style than usual.
I went to the cash machine after and there was a gentleman using the one next to mine.It was so funny because when his money came out and he took it he said THANKYOU :-D :-D.He did feel silly.I said you would get a shock if the machine answered you lol
I brought some hair home from the hairdressers to put around the garden to keep the bunnies away.Remember last year I tried it and it did seem to help.

Is Frank still out on the Patio potting up I wonder :-D :-D Behaving himself.

I spoke to my old Primary School Head last night. He is 80 and has just moved house. He and his wife decided it was time for a bungalow. It sounds as though they will be very happy there.I don't think I would fancy moving home at 80........mind you I could be put in a home then :-S :-S :-S

We haven't heard from Flowers for a few days have we?

Just come down from the border and I am pleased to say I am now a third of the way along and all tidy. Oh just has to mulch it for me.

Hi sheila nice you could get back on here without much bother. I too have been having trouble getting on here but it does seem a bit better this week. Jessica will soon make friends, and it will take a bit of time before she settles in. It is good that April has made a friend too.

I'm here. No Jane, after doing the digging and pottering around down the garden. I started to shake and totter. Ros sent me in doors. She potted on the plants, and has a load over. They seemed to have sent so many. Will get more trays cleaned tomorrow, and pot the rest on.

My you all haver been busy chatting. Hows the hair Jane. NOT GREY ANYMORE !!!!

Shelia, As long as April dosen't get into that eating habit, she will be O.K. Whenever you see shots of Americans on T.V. Their fast foods are out of this world, I don't eat Beef Burgers and any crap food. The Yanks seem to live on it. And their plates have to be filled to overflowing. No wonder they are the size they are.

Maureen glad little Alfie is O.K. and enjoying his playtimes in the garden.

You all seem to be having trouble with either getting on here, or with E-mails. I have noticed how wide the screen is, and have to slide the bottom across to be able to read the full width.

We have some scallywags around the Village. Two houses have been broken into. A shed with Two motorbikes, both stolen, and a car stolen.
Fortunatly we only have one big opening window in the bungalow, and that is in the bedroom with a lock. The conservatory is locked from inside also the Patio door into the loungs. The porch has a 5 lever lock and the door from the porch is also locked. Get in if you can you BUGGERS.!!!!!! And I have a pickaxe sharft in the lounge.

Keep safe all. Might be back later.

Evening everyone,

What a lovely sunny day its been ,had the family here all day ,they have all gone home now and i feel worn out !!

Had some sad news today , hubby's brother died last night , he was in his eighties and had been a bit poorly ,but it was still a shock , hubby was very close to his brother ,he use to go and help out on his farm with him .

Sheila, sorry to hear your OH has been unwell and in hospital , hope he's now on the mend and feeling better.

I think Frank will be 'potting up' in his dreams tonight!! lol :-D :-D I see you have your pic back!

Sorry to hear your hubby was in hospital Sheila. Good for him to watch tv and take things a bit gently until he is back to strength again. FIL tells you what films every actor has been in when he is watching tv!! You don't get to hear much of what they are saying!!!!! Little April has made a good start in making friends and in occupying herself collecting and painting shells. I think her making friends will bring Jessica friends too. She just needs to give it time and always wear a smile. :-D :-D

Mel, you have a got a lot done in the garden today........I remember your borders are very long!!!

Sorry to hear about your hubby's brother Mandy. It is awful when it is not expected too.

Thanks to the others who tried to send me Fiona's photos.

I have my paternal Grand Father's DOB and a marriage date to my Grand Mother.
I know my my Aunts names. I know my GGF's name and the name of his wifei even know where and when he married..
But even with all that I cannot find GF's death date or that of his wife.
Perhaps that's because Irish records aren't as readily available as the rest of the UK
Do you geneaologists have a data source for the dates I lack?
The ones Ive used have asked me to give the date of death. This is an unknown.
I take it this where the real hard searching comes in.
I know he was a Belfast docker and I know he was in WW1 regiment unknown and I know he was gassed during the war.
Despite so much detail his departure and that of his wife,my,GM seems elusive.

Hello everyone,
I hope you are all well,I've just spent a good 10 minutes reading back on all the gossip since I was last on, which I think was Sunday.
Belated Birthday wishes to you Shirl- I hope you had a good day
Yesterday I managed at last to book our holday in Scotland, we originally wanted to rent a holiday home , somewhere big that we could take our dog, as she is 13 & frets if we leave her in kennels anyway my brother in law has come to the rescue with his kind offer of looking after the old dog for us. So I have booked a lovely hotel in Hamilton and my husband's sister & her family are coming with us.
Ihave also had my hair done today, cut & coloured ( I don't look like a badger anymore- Lol !
Yesterday I found an excellent website , a war forum, I put a few details about my G-Grandfather who was in the army for 20 odd years and who served in the Boer War & the expert ( Alan Greveson) came back to me on the forum within years with absolutely loads of information about him & also his family, I just wished that my father was still living so I could have shown him it all.
Anyway it's been a lot milder today but gloomy with the promise of a nice weekend.Everyone take care. xx

Nice to know you are ok.

Your holiday sounds nice and I hope the dog is ok while your away. They are a worry when they are that sort of age. After all they are part of the family.

DAVID go on the Find Ancesters board and see if you can find Eringobrah (sp) she has a lot of info on Irish people and knows a lot of websites.
