That must be miserable for Ellen David. Did the doc suggest any other painkillers? Has she tried propping her legs up with a stool in the evening?

Mandy it was lucky you got through tea first!! lol Otherwise it would have been romantic candlelight! :-D

It seems MIL got herself in a state this morning........it turned out to be an infection she just needs cream for. She made it sound like she was heamorrhaging (sp) and was convinced she would be going in for an emergency operation, telling OH to be on standby! It's a good job he is retired or he would have had a day off for nothing as it turned out.

I have another session at the Records Office tomorrow about Edwardian and Victorian Education Records. I will need to be earlier this week as parking is very limited. That will give me time to nip in the little cafe opposite and get a nice bacon bap. :-D OH won't know! :-D

Coedine and or Paracetamol is all he suggested ANN.

She takes soluble Solpadine which some times helps.

Can't do Oxtail William :-S :-S.It turns my tum .
As for an adoptive family I think that is great.I think most of the oldies on here know that I am adopted.I always knew I was from a very young age.
I waited until Mum and Dad(my adoptive parents) had passed away before I decided to look for Birth Family. It just took one click on the computer to discover them.Turned out I was one of 8 children.I have met 2 Brothers and a cousin. All I can say is Thank God I was adopted :-D :-D :-D.My life would have been so different and (not happy) had I not been.

MIL is improving in hospital, she is starting to eat again, has managed with the aid of a nurse to walk to the bathroom, they have done a lot of tests, and x rays and it seems she was having terrible pain in her shoulder as well as her leg, and it looks as though her shoulder joint is wearing away, so the are in big discusions about that, anyway we are glad she is making some inprovements,

OH home now and all is well with the job, and will be based in Cambuslang which is about 40mins from home. he will be doing just about the same as he is now traveling but maybe not as much , time will tell

Off to bed now

night night

Morning All,

Wind has dropped today and it seems warmer without it but no sunshine today.

Was tired out after yesterdays jaunt around the garden center. Never did get up the border.

Ann it is not the delphiniums the rabbits eat it is the tall campanula.

I do wish I could find out how to send pics from my new camera!! So frustrating.

Frank we are your new family and don't you forget it!! :-)

Maureen we also have three compost bins that oh made out of wood with sliding slats in the front so when you fill or empty them you can take them out to empty or slide them back in to fill. They are HUGE and I can nearly stand up in them. We had soo much stuff to put in them when we were doing the whole of the veg garden but now they stand empty. The chickens have all my veg peeling cooked up each day wtih their pellets mixed in.

David I have pain in my knees sometimes and each winter I go to bed with one of those animals filled with wheat that you heat in the microwave on my knees or between my knees if I lay on my side. I am convinced it helps mine.

Well I have to go shopping today as I did'nt go yesterday, what a horrid thought........ :-(

I wonder how Pat got on with her vodka????? :-S

My roses are three weeks old today and still don't look bad!! I am really shocked as usually one drops and you can't get it to draw up the water but these have all been fine.

Morning to All My Friends, :-D

Sunny and no wind here at the mo and I've put more washing on. So much nicer when it is dried outside.

Silly me Mel........mind you rabbits seem to like most plants you like yourelf!!

Glad they are sorting your MIL out Fiona..........is your side much better today?

Hope you had a good night Frank. I have just had some pretty leaf shaped beads arrive in the post and I only ordered them yesterday!!! After the talk this morning I'm off to Coalville to see Tara to get some beads to go with them. :-D Her little shop is packed to the gills with things so it takes me ages to decide ......and I always come away with extra things! :-D

Better go and get a notepad sorted to take with me now.

Hope you all enjoy your day whatever you are all doing. :-) :-) :-)

Morning all,
"BROTHERS"
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

That's the line drawn under my Brothers. I will get on with my life and forget they exist. !!!

Lovely morning here, sunshine and no wind. Might go and dig a bit more of the Veg patch later.Ros is going out with Carolyn who is back from Florida. She hates me doing things, when she's not around in case I fall over and can't get up. If it happens I can lay and get a sun tan :-D :-D :-D :-D

Ann, I have told Ros to get out around the Charity shops for beads. She keeps saying she will, but when I don't know !!!! They are so expensive on Ebay and the Jewellery chanel. and the sizes are very big.

Mel, I find those wheat bags are great for aches and pains, I have two one goes round my neck, and the other on the bottom of my back.

Well i'm off for a couple of hours, see you later.

Maureen

Maureen Report 6 Mar 2012 15:34

Just one last comment on families. Having read how bad things were/are between your brothers Frank made me thankful for the brother I have, I've always said I was at the front of the queue when they were handing out brothers. He never interferes but is always there if I need help, even when we were kids and my mum would come running after me ready to give me a slap I would hide behind my brother and he bore the brunt of mum's anger.

I always find something warm on an ache makes it feel much better.

I'm going to have another wander round the garden, see if there's a spot I can put a composter in, that's the trouble with smallish gardens there's just not enough space and I'd rather fill mine with plants.

The outdoor boot sales will be starting up in a few weeks Ann and Frank, you might find beads there, I've noticed a lot of stalls with jewellery a fraction of the price on ebay. Worth having a look and I'll keep my eyes open for some for you.

Frank

Frank Report 6 Mar 2012 15:57

Maureen, Thanks for that. It's verty rare that we are up early enough to go to Boot Sales. Centainly not Ros. She dosen't come to bed till after 1.00am so can't the would be up like the lark for Boot Sales :-D :-D :-D

Just a thought about your waste. Could you not put it into bags and take it to the tip.??? or is there someone around you who has an allotments, who could use it. ???

What a cracking day. I did an hour down the garden. Then came in a prepared a BEEF and Mushroom Pie for tonights dinner.

Found the receipe on the www. Took a fair bit of time to prepare, and it had to simmer for about 2 hours. Have just transfered it to the dish. It smells wonderful, and will need 40 minutes in the oven when I put the pastry on it. Doing mash, swede brussels and boild parsnips I hope her ladyship thinks it was worth my efforts. There is bound to be something wrong :-| :-| :-|

Am just thinking of doing the lawns, but I feel I have done enough today. Always another day tomorrow.

That's my motto Frank ..... always put off today what you can do tomorrow ..... :-D

I can go to the tip, guess I've just got lazy with the council taking it. Will read up a bit more on composting, it does seem like a lot of flapping around though, with layering what you put in and turning it etc. I do remember having a go once, everytime I lifted the lid all sorts of flies flew out. :-0
