Well thats school finished here for the halfterm week...gives me time to sort out what Im going to take on hol...Not paying extra so will have to weigh it before.. Been cold here again but sunny,,another frost this morning...I was awake at 12 am and the car had frost on it then.

I am going to see what this programme is like to night.THe one that Ann put the link up about...I have been watching things I have recorded to try and clear the box....Still have these jeans to shorten..Tacked them and they are still a bit to long...I will sew them in the daylight...

I have my husbands cold now as this cough I have has started to get worse..

Jane I bet you are pleased that Chris has finished Jury service.

I get muddled up with everyones childrens and grandchildrens names..Perhaps I ought to make a list...Hope you all have a nice time with them..

Hi Kim...nice to see you on here .. How are you doing.. Im glad we dont have many snakes over here.

Hi de Hi folks,

Sorry to hear you are no better Frank. Good idea to rest in the warm in your dressing gown for now with plenty of tissues and TLC at hand!!

OH did one of his custody visits with a student who is studying criminology at university at the moment. I thought how brilliant she is doing voluntary work in the same type of thing at the same time and gaining experience to put on her CV for when she goes for work interviews in the future. Sensible girl for gaining herself advantages in this way!!

Pat, get yourself dosed up.........you don't want coughs and colds spoiling your hols!! I hope you have a nice time anyway and take some pics for us to see. I have to do my shortening in daylight too. lol

Kim, I bet ALL your creepy crawlies are BIGGER and more SCARY than ours. Snakes, I hate them and wouldn't dare leave any doors or windows open.

Anne, the fuel allowance had a temporary top up, which they are no longer continuing. It means those over 80 will lose £100 and the others will lose £50. I must say it does seem very harsh when fuel and food costs are rising so fast. Many pension rates have been frozen this year too.

Well, this site is driving me nuts how slow it is, so I shall go and get ready to watch the programme too. Night, night xx

Hi all,

Hope I didn't offened anyone with my rantings today, but they do get on my box. We are all allowed our opinions !!!

Another scum of the face of the earth now then, perhaps their Country will get back to being civilized. The best thing was that he was shot, or else there would be even more trouble, having to to put him through court.

This B#### cold is still hanging around, got through a box of tissues today.
Thanks Mel, I never thoughjt about Lemsi# and my tablets. Haven't had any since.

Hope you have a nice day and night with your visitors Jane. What a long way to come for a weekend. :-) :-) :-) :-)

Ros has a dentist appointment tomorrow afternoon. We will then go down and bring Lewis up for the week. It's so nice thet he still wants to come to see us for so long. I suppose in a year or so that will drop off, but of course we hope it won't. He knows his Nanny and Pappy love having him.

Glad you like the people at your new tip Liz, Ours are very helpful, and will come and take the rubbish out of the car, when they see me get out of the car with my stick :-D :-D useful bit of kit sometimes !!!

Hello Jane,

Have a lovely time with your visitors. Just received some beautiful flowers from a friend as I couldn't make the Port Macquarie school reunion this weekend. At least I am with them in spirit. Not sure I would have survived if I was there, lol.

Have a great day everyone. Sun has been shining and the birds are very noisy. I love Springtime.

Jane,I too am glad that Gadaffi is 'no more' and as you say Frank, it'll save all that trial commotion and the spectacle of seeing him hanged/shot, which, although richly deserved,I think Libyia can find better things to spend it's limited funds on!!! My cousin should have been on Flight 103, but postponed his trip till the New Year, much to our relief, but it was a close call as he was in two minds!! When I think of those poor people in that plane,( never mind the suffering over the years of his fellow countrymen,)that alone gives me reason to cheer at that dreadful mans' demise! Mind you, two down and dozens more to go!!!!! Windy today, SO, bed changed, sheet pillow slips, towels and sundry other un mentionables (only kidding) blowing away on the line!!!

Morning all,

Not a lot of improvement, still streaming nose, and rasping cough. Chest is aching with all this horrible stuff comming up!!!

Fair morning outside, but won't go out till we collect Lewis, if I feel like it. I want to get this cleared up, so I don't pass it on to him and Ros.

Ros is in the shower and washing her hair this morning, All glamed up for the weekend. :-D :-D :-D We haven't anything planned, but a Chinese for Lewis Sat. Evening. and he will want his Roast pork on Sunday. Must get a joint out of the freezer.

Ros sat out on her little seat yesterday in the garden, putting in TULIP bulbs. she said she only has a few more to go in. She is not verry good this morning after the excursion of yesterday. I told her to leave it till next week, when I would be able to do it.

Liz, It dosen't bear thinking about what might have been with your cousin, the family could still be grieving, at his loss. Lets hope things settle down out there and the world will be a better place.

Jane have your visitors arrived get,??? Hope your Roast turns out well this evening, Do you need any help with the roast pots, you could never do them like me :-P :-P :-P :-P

I had three rashers of bacon, pile of tomato's in olive oil, on two slices of toast for breakfast. They do say feed a cold starve a fever. !!

Hope you all have a nice day, will try to get back later.

Morning All

Would you believe it yesterday, after I came in from Shopping with the family. (we got Sofia some purple fluffy snow boots, no wellies yet.)*

* I had to go straight to bed with one of my gallblader pains, rotten pain, took 2 pain killers and laid down.
stayed in bed for a few hours while daughter no 2 and boyfriend came made their own tea and then went home about 7.30 , OH got home about 8.00. I got up had a cup of tea , watched Tv and then back to bed at 9.00 with another pill
Slept ok through the night,
This morning I got up at 8.00 had my breakfast, and sat down then decided I better go back to bed as I couldn't keep my eyes open, (OH working from home) I then dropped off again and slept for another hour & a half and I feel much better now, those pain killers make me really sleepy.

I better go and get dressed, or it will soon be lunch time.

Oh Fiona, I bet you need this, like a pain in the ars#. Glad you feel a little better this morning.

Have just ordered Ros and I some new slippers from Ebay. There is nothing she fancies in Tesc# of other stores, so will save us walking around. What a great thing this shopping on line is. Saves you hours of walking around the shops which suits me fine. I never have to leave home. !!!

Hi All,

Been busy this morning cleaning.

Hope Jane has a good day with Ethan and his parents. I klnow she will be so glad to see them all again.

Frank you could always have what I have when I get a bad cold. do yourself a drink of fresh lemon and add a good spoonful of honey. Take a couple of paracetamol with that and it works like a lemsip. Or even Ribena and honey.

I must get some washing in the machine as it has'nt rained today yet!! OH is out in the new garage still working on stripping down the big girl, Clarissa. She is down to her bare bones, poor old mower, won't know what's happened to her. She was left outside all last winter over by the west wall but this year she will be inside and all newly painted ready for next year. OH has been trying to find somewhere that will sharpen her blades as it is a 48 inch cut and not many places have the equipment to sharpen a set of blades that wide.

Blimmin cold here today and I have nearly turned the heating on twice now but have refrained.

Maureen Report 21 Oct 2011 15:31

Have been given the day off, well seeing as I'm half the boss I've given myself the day off, the whole weekend too, going to daughters for a rest. Have been working like a 'you know what' at the house. I have RSI in my hand anyway from all the ironing and showed my son how swollen my hand was, oowww he said you should take it easy, in the next breath he said, ...... right when you've got all those tiles off you can knock down that plasterboard wall, knock all the nails out of the timber and take all the handles off the doors......

A drop of whiskey might help Frank.

It's bloomin' cold here too Mel, the other night it was minus something and I did put the heating on then.

The sooner you have your op the better Fiona, how miserable to be in such pain. I had my hair cut last week too, quite a bit shorter, not sure I like it. I liked yours in the photos you sent a while ago.

Ann, I was going to say can you remind us about that programe but didn't you say it starts on the 20th October, so I've missed it.

Annx Report 21 Oct 2011 15:37

Afternoon All,

Oh dear Frank........can you say plum jam? That's what we used to ask years ago. :-D Sorry you are still sniffling and hacking and I hope it starts to improve for you now or Lewis will be wanting a gas mask!! I like the sort of remedy Mel suggests.......plenty of vit C and healing honey.

Poor Clarissa Mel........in bits!!! I hope your OH remembers how to put her back together again. Years ago when dad did engineering he used to sharpen mower blades and scissors on his lathe if people asked him. It was amazing how many cylinders were out of true but the lathe soon sorted that out and people would find there mowers worked better than new when they got them back!! He would always grease and oil them too. I remember his test when he put them back together was that they would cut paper!

Good job you have your 'date' now Fiona. That was a painful reminder that the stones will continue to cause trouble. I bet Sofia will love her little boots!!

What a nice gesture that was Kim, they obviously think a lot of you. How nice it is spring where you are. There is less birdsong around here than there was years ago, but it is so nice to hear in spring.

Jane will be busy today with her visitors and a hopefully, much happier little Nathan. I wonder if 'you know who' has behaved and been allowed to stay home?

I suppose my main news today is that I have become a great aunt on the birth of little George. :-D :-D Help, how did I get this old!! :-S :-S

Annx

Annx Report 21 Oct 2011 15:45

Maureen, that reminds me of doing up my previous house!! A tip.......I used to wear an old shower cap when 'demolishing' things......keeps the dust out of your hair. Your poor hand too........having a rest will do you good and you will feel fresh then to get on with some more!!! lol Things look worse for a while when you do these things, but it is satisfying when you see the transormation. Is the grass growing yet? Hope you have a lovely restful weekend.

Maureen

Maureen Report 21 Oct 2011 15:55

Oops we must have posted at the same time Ann. No grass growing yet, I only managed to get it down last Sunday and it's been so cold, that will slow it down. Will leave son to it this weekend, he has electrician and plumber in, they are all friends so it will be 'mates rates' and I shan't be decorating, son's partners mum is a decorator so she'll get roped in, I am just the labourer now and odd job woman, amazing how many odd jobs there are.

Must get on, have done no housework for weeks.

Hello!.
Just another quick one.Rachel and Ethan have popped out to see an old school friend (she hasn't seen for 13 odd years).Darren is sat quietly trying to write a speech for his Grandma's 80th party.I have just peeled all the spuds and veg for tonight so am having a breather.Ethan is a lovely little chap, but a bit unsure about being in a strange place and seeing 'strange' people lol.All this travelling as well must be unsettling for him.I bet he doesn't sleep well tonight :-S :-S.
I have the heating on all the time while they are here.I am too flipping hot lol.Ethan has long trousers and socks on.He has never had them before.I think they would be quite happy for me to light the fire.....but I think I would melt, especially if I am going to be cooking a Roast PHEWY!!!!
I better go now.May be back later.
Frank you look after that cold of yours.
