I forgot to say how sad I am that Richard Griffiths has died. I loved that actor. I think at one time he lived in Bideford.
RIP Richard..................................... <3

Pickled 2 and a half dozen bantam eggs this morning and only one stuck to it's shell a bit so we had that in our sarnies with turkey ham and three cheeseand onion filler.

Happy Easter to everyone.
Good to know you and Carmel are both safely back home William, life goes on and as you said he will always be in your hearts.
I totally understand how you feel about Chester Jane, I've had quite a few teary moments thinking Alfie had used up all his nine lives. You should see him now from the back he looks like a giant hedgehog without the spikes, round and fat he's even heavier than Coco.
Hope Chris is feeling better, especially if he is going with you to see the play.
Mel must be the furthest South Frank but I'm in the South East and we've had no snow at all from this last bout of cold weather, better not speak too soon, it is bitterly cold. Not like you to be feeling the cold.
Hope the g.children haven't all come down with chicken pox Mandy, how is little Katie. Chloe is much better, ear infection soon cleared up with antibiotics.

Good to hear that Chloe is feeling better Maureen.
Just going to clear my bird food cupboard out as it can get a bit mitey if I don't keep on top of it.
Oh is out on the digger leveling off some of the earth that has been laying in a pile in the back field where the old chicken run was. Last year he was going to do it and regrass it for them but with all the rain we had it did'nt get done. How he stays out there I don't know it is sooooo bitterly cold in the wind we have today.

Jane, you must have been in my thoughts as I was thinking about pets in general early this morningl. Those who have never had them can't understand how close you can get to them and how much they can mean to you. We don't have any pets now but we can certainly remember how much the ones we had meant to us. Funnily, a cat came into our garden just before we went off to Skegness, never saw this one before, very young but just like our Moseley was. Silver grey, white 'shirt and socks' - and when I tapped the window, it just stood looking back at us, no fear, no wanting to run away. Are there cat ghosts? But although we don't have our pets, I know when we go to our daughters, no matter how long it's been between visits, Ben will come and give us a big greeting, not able to wait until we can get through the door, tail swishing like mad. And then he will sit his big heavy body on my foot, look up at me and lick my nose if he gets half a chance. Not to mention the fact that he will leave enough hairs on our clothes for me to go home and make my own dog! Our friend Helga no longer has her cat Oscar, sadly he got poorly and died. But when I go round I do miss him, how he curled around my legs, how he trusted me implicitly and would let me scoop him up from the chair, place him back on my lap without him moving a muscle, then continue to purr and let me stroke his soft, soothing fur. You all know, you can't put a price on that. We had to go shopping in Nuneaton today and boy is it still cold. Not as bad as Skeggy by any count, but cold enough. We are now stocked up so can enjoy a few days in the warmth and comfort of our own home. We were early in bed last night and got a good nights sleep in our own bed. Amen to that. I've just caught up on Frank's emails, some very good ones there, don't know where you get them all from. I've still got to catch up on all the posts, but hey, I've got the time now. I'm off to retrieve some photos and I'll email them out when I'm done.

Afternoon everyone,
We've had lovely sunshine today and a snow shower !! weird weather !!
Yesterday we went to Fakenham to look at wall tiles for the kitchen and i saw some i liked and today we've been to Norwich to have a look there ,couldn't find any i liked there ,so it's back to Fakenham i think .
Hubby is still taking his tablets for his Vertigo, he seems to be ok until he turns his head to quickly . Little Katie seems a bit better ,the spots are all really red and crusty now ,no sign so far of any spots on any of the others !! We called in for a cup of tea and the little ones had been making Chocolate Rice Krispie cakes with little chocolate eggs on the top ,lovely they were too .
Glad the antibiotics have helped Chloe get rid of her ear infection Maureen .
Glad Chris is better Jane, there seems to be lots of people getting the trots this way ,everyone you talk to seems to have had it !! you don't want that this weekend if your off to London . I know just how you feel about Chester ,we had all that with Bonnie and it is upsetting , but you just have to take each day as it comes and not dwell on it ,not easy to do i know <3
No cooking for me tonight as we had a lunch out ,just a sandwich to make later when we feel hungry .

It's been a funny old day weather wise.Bit of sun bit of snow,Lights on and off.Now it is sunny again.I feels strange that it is still light into the early evening. Is it tomorrow night we change the clocks? I see we will just be missing the Boat Race in London on Sunday.I would have loved to see that.Never mind.We will be having lunch with Hannah and John before getting the train home at 2.
I have just booked the hotel in Lille for my Sister and Me :-D.So that is all sorted now.I now need to cook up something for James to give Chester while I am not here.James is cooking for himself lol.He is actually cooking up something good tomorrow for him and his mate Luke.

Very light snowy stuff falling this afternoon.
Glad you had a good night Will. It always seems to help. Have a nice quiet few days in the warm to get over that terrible experience. Thank God it's not every day we have those to go to.
Mel, I didn't know who you meant, till I saw the news, he was no age was he only 65. Do you know what he died of ?. Good job there are no more Harry P films, it wouldn't be right without him !!
Has anyone heard from David ?. I do hope he is getting along alright.
I saw Kim on FB this week. so assume she's getting on after her hospital visit.
I've got one of my HOT FLUSHES" at the moment and stripped off, trying to cool down. I won't tempt going out to the patio, that would be beyond a joke :-D :-D Bits might fall off ;-) ;-)
Mandy, I know where you are, but how far are you from Fakenham ? Is it a big town now, I have been there but over 55 years ago. Like most places, I suppose they have expanded.
Will, my old Golden Lab. would moult so much I could have filled a cushion. He loved to rub against the sofa and leave heaps of fur along the side.
Ros has bought a wing of Skate for me, and Plaice fillies for herself. I will do home made chips later, and that's us set up for dinner/tea.
Will my Emails come from all over the World, via friends in this Country, apart from friends in Aus, and Shirl in Canada. Glad you like them. Some a bit saucy, but we all have broad minds, and enjoy a giggle or two . !!
Day seems to have dragged today, been reading, playing games on here, and watching a bit of tele.
Nice to see the evenings drawing out, even more on Sunday. Don't forget the CLOCKS.

Yes how sad about Richard Griffiths.Frank he died from complications after Heart Surgery.
Mandy i think it could be up to 3 weeks before any of the other children get the Chicken pox as there is a long incubation period :-S :-SYour DIL and son could be in for a long haul :-S :-S.
William .I love cats.Always had one as a child.Peter was a big black cat given to me when I was about 3 or 4 by the 2 ladies who lived next door.He used to sleep on the bottom of my bed every night. Then there was Jerry and Rudy.Jerry was the most handsome Ginger and my favourite .Rudy was a bad tempered Ginger and white, and he would go for you for no reason at all :-S.Then was Bella a pretty Tortoiseshell and Kinky and little black kitten that was found on a dump abandoned :-( :-(.It was brought into the vet who i used to work for and was so young it's eyes were not fully opened.I said I would look after it and every day when I set off in the van to collect and deliver all the pets to the groomer Kinky came with me in a basket and I would feed him with a little dropper every half an hour. Then through the nights as well.My Nana took a fancy to him and so she had him for a while but it was too much so he had to be re homed :-(.Nana was distraught Then after Chris and I married and moved to Nailsea we had Solo another black female .Not the most sociable of cats. She was never a lap cat and was a bit aloof .In fact she was really anti social lol.I think we had her until she was about 12 and then she developed Diabetes and we had to have her put to sleep. I would love to have another cat but have seen too many killed on the road here so I wouldn't consider it as long as we are in this house. Chester is petrified of cats !!!! I have no idea why. He's just a wus :-D He has a full tummy at last, but now I worry he might have had to much of a mix of food and he could end up with the runs!..James will have to keep an eye on that department tomorrow lol I bought Chester a lovely new (faux ) sheepskin blanket thing this morning and he is all snuggled up in it now.I think he likes it :-D
Mel if you are still turning cupboards out I have a few you make a start on ;-)
We have fish tonight...Chris's idea (because it's Good Friday). He got the 'Waitr*** one in the bag that pops in the oven .I think it is cod with herby butter.
My Robins are getting very Cheeky now.One in particular comes and stands on the kitchen windowsill and looks in at me.There 3 out there just now all having a bit of a squabble waiting to see if I was going to put any more seed out.
I think I have waffled on enough now so will go and check the tumble dryer and see if my trousers are dry for tomorrow. They will no doubt need a little iron.

We're only 12 miles from Fakenham Frank, 12 miles from Swaffham and 16 from Norwich . Fakenham hasn't changed much , there is a oneway system through the town now and there are a few industrial units on the outskirts and they have a good outside market there on a thursday ,lots more stalls than we have here in town, and the auctions are still held there too.
My goodness it's gone over so dark , looks like we could be in for some thing !!
Yes must remember to alter the clocks on sat night , will have to get son to change the clock in the car too, i remember one year it didn't get done and it was a devil having to work out the time !!

We all like to think we are loyal individuals - loyal to our country & our family, to our church & our neighbours, to our favourite supermarket & petrol station, not forgetting the local pub & the take-away.
But, sometimes, there’s a high price paid for loyalty in the commercial world we inhabit – the average wallet these days, using my own as a guide, now has more store loyalty cards than credit cards.
But it’s not a new phenomenon – do you remember Green Shield Stamps? My mother was a mad fan - God bless her name. She’d get yards of them to stick into her booklet & woe-betide any of us forgetting to collect them when we were out spending our hard-earned pocket money. Eventually, she’d collect enough books to get a set of saucepans or some other useful household utensil which would duly arrive in the post on the back of the postman‘s pushbike.
When all of this started back in 1958, one stamp was issued for each 6d – half a shilling in old money – that was spent on goods, so large numbers of stamps had to be stuck into the books.
The problem was that she effectively needed to spend up to £12,000 to buy a TV for example – at a time when the average colour television cost around £350. At a later stage, a second denomination was added, worth ten of the original stamps, which somewhat alleviated this problem. But mum would still have a sore tongue by the time she were finished licking for her precious set of delft.
Good old days but perhaps we should not wallow too much in the muddy pool of yesteryear.

Ah! Bless her Mandy. Pots lolol
Dermot I remember licking and sticking all those stamps plus pink ones too.I think they may have been Co-op ones. There were books and books of the darned things. I seem to remember too stamps with petrol( I don't know if I am imagining that).Did my Dad collect them for a Tigers Tail????.......At least these days we don't have to spend ages licking disgusting tasting stamps.Peel off and stick now :-D I think we had pots and pans and dinner sets with the Green Sh*** ones. Now we get too many bits of paper to stuff in our purses saying we have saved so many pence by buying at a particular supermarket compared to others.I can't close my purse sometimes.Have to say it drives me nuts :-S I still have some mugs that I bought with Co-* stamps from the mid 80's.We don't use them anymore so I think it is time they went.
Dinner time now......My Aunty used to have a gong when dinner was ready :-D :-D Reminds me of the 'Rank' films with a fit man banging a gong lol ( I think it was Rank).

I never went to a Tupperware party Mandy.I think my Mum might have had one. It's all Ann Summe** parties and other type of parties these days lol......How boring does Tupperware sound now ???..Now I don't know if this is a figment of my imagination but was there something called a Pandora Party?
I still haven't got myself ready for tomorrow.Been to busy sorting dinner and washing :-S.My nails need doing too....I'm all behind. James has strict instructions to be up early so I can tell him what to give Chester food wise and how to get tablets down , also to explain to Britis* Gas engineer what the latest leaky problem is.I do get myself in a bit of a Hoo Ha going away (even just for the night) and I know it drives everyone else bonkers...but someone has to make sure everything is in order .That what wives and mothers do .(Am I right,or am I wrong???).......please say I'm right :-D :-D If I don't say hello in the morning then I won't say hello until later on Sunday :-D
Happy Easter Everyone.Enjoy any Easter Eggs you might have. :-D :-D
David if you are looking in....I hope you are doing ok and not too bored stuck in hospital. Night Night xx
