If you go to bed much earlier Jane, you might as well not get up in the first place. :-D :-D
Dinner was a disaster. Didn't like the apple under the pork . The apple was burnt and soggy with the fat from the meat. Pudding didn't rise, Ros likes it soggy, I like it crispy. So she had a feast.!!! Not really, when she got back from the exibition, she was feeling sick again, but never told me, so I finished off dinner, and dished it up. She left more than she ate, so did I come to that. Not much meat over but plenty of crackling (which she loves) I can't eat it. The meat can go to my doggy friend next door but two. (NORMAN)
DOI wasn't bad tonight. Jason, is getting a right pain in the whatsit. !!! Not a good word for anyone, when you consider the "STARS" couldn't skate a few weeks ago. I think they do well.
Mr S on now, so I will go to Ebay or play cards.
Glad to see the back of the snow and ice, I might be able to get out for a walk now. Tomorrow looks bad, with more rain. So will see how it goes.
Were you able to go to the Party yesterday Will. ???

Thanks for that Jane..........I think OH will enjoy it more than me but the writeups are good.
Sorry your dinner wasn't so good Frank. Sometimes it just happens! like that! Shame about your pots breaking. I haven't been and looked at ours yet so I hope they are ok.
The holey log sounds a good idea Mel, especially if the big birds can't use it very easily.
What is your new photo of David?
I'm off to bed too now. Hairdresser first thing tomorrow, so with my shorn locks I reckon I'll need a scarf on in the cinema after.

Morning all/Evening kim,
Are you up yet JANE ???
Heavy frost here last night, white all over the lawns.
The bin men have taken some bins, I wonder if they will be back for the others later !!!
More pain, my right ankle keeps getting cramp like pains, it feels like my ankle is in a vice. Everytime I lay down in bed it starts. Was up at 2.45 this morning with it. When I did go back it started again. I do have a nasty bit on my ankle bone from the fall, so that might have something to do with it. I feel so washed out with a good nights sleep.. Glad when I am back to normal. (A grumpy old person) !!!!
Nothing planed for today, so it will be armchair, book, computer, and perhaps a bit of tele.
I suppose was will be off to get some more pots for the step. I'm not sure if she had put bulbs in them or not, but she will find something for them, i am sure !!!

Morning all and Evening Kim,
Not nice here today. All dull and cloudy and grey.
I think I must go shopping today as I can't really put it off for another week. This must be a BIG shop and not a tiddle round the shops like I have done for the last two weeks.
Hogwart has had a party again last night. Pulled all his newpaper up and tried to get it in his bedroom. Also p**ed in his food bowl, dirty little tyke.

Morning/Evening All I had to sign in today.Haven't done that in a long time.
Frank ,I didn't get up early but have been awake since Chris got up at 6.30.He is off this week ,just has a couple of meetings I think. He is shut in the study now preparing whatever it is he has to do.
Mel you will have to tell Hogwart if he poops in his dish again you will have to tell him he won't get any dinner .
It is cold and windy this morning and we had a hard frost first thing.
Frank maybe you had been lying awkwardly on your ankle in bed and it got all inflamed or something.Maybe an easy day will help it.
Now I am going to make my bed and pop out for a while. This afternoons job will be a load of ironing :-S :-S

Afternoon all. Wild and windy out today. Both been to the dentists today. My crown came off again and had to be recemented on. It looks like it will be a plate then a bridge in the near future though! Carmel had to see him about the lichen planus but he said the condition often needs a clean of the teeth every three months.
We watched DOI last night too, but I record it so we can speed throught the 'window dressing' and get to the actual skating. Like Frank, Jason is a pain in the khyber, starts every criticism with 'Well' and never seems to shut up or give decent marks. How Joe stays in we don't know, should have gone last week. I think viewers vote for personalities, not skating ability. Anthea was robbed. And that American girl is also a pain but is a lot fairer than Jason.
Goes without saying we watched the Midwives. I record Ripper Street and have watched it today. Strange that two programmes following each other on BBC1 are both set roughly near the same area of East London and many years apart. Scenes in Midwife remind me of when my Aunt & Uncle came back from evacuation after the war to end up in similar awful tenements as in the programme. It brings our visits to them painfully back to life for me. Made me glad we had moved out to Chadwell Heath.
Going back in the past, has anyone else got anything that was their mothers or fathers that they still use today? I still use a clothes brush that was my Dad's. We also have some beautiful pillow covers, white quality cotton, edged and with broderie anglaise work on them. They button to closethe openings - and the button are metal with white material to finish them off. They were always Mum's 'Sunday best' so were little used in her time. I was ironing them this morning and it was a real bond as I thought that my Mum had ironed them too in years gone by.
Frank, have you tried taking quinine tablets for the cramp pains in your ankle?
David, I've seen that photo before, you can get big prints of it, it's quite famous. The only trouble is it gives me vertigo just looking at them sitting up there. Yikes!!!

Afternoon all,
What a day of wind and rain. The big tree in the front garden keeps swaying back and forth. Hope it stays put !!!
How did yiur shopping go Mel, spent a fortune I bet. I think that's one reason I don't go with Ros, would turn my hair greyer. !!!
Will, Yes it's great to have memories of M & D. I did have some bits of theirs, but when I walk out of my previous marriage they all got lefy behind.
Last night I did get a lump in my throat as I lain in bed listening to the radio. They played an old Irish song "If you ever go across the sea to Ireland" My 2nd eldest brother would sing that to me SEVENTY years ago, how it bought back such happy memories. He always came to the Bedroom to sing to us when home on leave.
A bit of useless information. again from the Radio. The top 5 records on the 28th January 1964. (5) Twentyfour hours from Tulsar. (4)Sandy SHAW. I can't of the record. (3) The beatles I want to hold your Hand (2) IT'S GONE as with the No. ONE SORRY. If I remember I will add later. !!! Grey matter going.
Have you got anything planed for Chris this week Jane,??? I bet he won't get much peace and quiet !!!!!
Cold Pork, Jacket Potato, coldslaw, with gratted cheese. mybe a few B B. for tea/dinner tonight. I had better get the spuds in the oven.

I have lots of things that belonged to my M & D William. When we cleared out the house after mum died I took dad's old tool box with all the tools and lots of dishes and saucepans, I've got mum's aprons she used to wear which see the light of day when I do occasionally cook, nothing of any great value but priceless to me.

Frank tomorrow we are going to the Pheasant for lunch and then to see Les Mis .He will have presents sometime tomorrow.Don't know when yet.I don't think he will get under my feet too much this week as he will be shut in his study a lot and then out a couple of times :-S.That suit s me nicely lol I don't know why but I feel so tired this afternoon. It might be another early night for me.I have to ready from 7am just in case the freezer arrives then(I hope it doesn't),and then my car is being picked up between 8 and 11.Something has gone wrong with the Anti Pollution System again(I have no idea what that is :-S). James and Jess have just gone off to Tes** .I think James has forgotten to get his Dad a birthday card.
I'm going to watch Come Dine W M and then think about dinner.

Back from shopping and it has been a really wild and windy day with lashing rain. It blew my trolly away when I got to the car to open the boot and it was piled high with shopping too. :-| :-| :-| :-P
The roads to Bideford were flooded in parts where the farmers have ploughed their field and ginger water running off them and all over the road.
All unpacked now but I still have some things to put away, tins mostly and they can wait.

O things from mum and dad. I still have lots of dads tools and an old toolbox with them in. I have my gt grandfathers pocket watch and of course I never knew him but like William said when I hold it I think that has been in his waistcoat pocket. The fob and heavy chain to it mum had mad into a neckless and I wear that sometimes. I have my grandmotheres gold gate braclet with the little heart shape padlock clasp. she gave that to mum and mum left it to me. Also my gt granfathers diamond ring that mum also had made into a ladies ring and wore every day as an engagement ring. I have my paternal grandmothers wedding ring and her engagement ring which I did'nt know she had untill she died we lived with her and I never saw her wear it in the 18 years I was at home. I also have mums rolling pin which is quite fat but I don't use it. The other thing I have is my dads only pair of cuff links mum bought him, gold ones.

I have many things that belonged to my Mum and Dad,and other bits from my Nana. Lots of bits of Jewellry,Letters that Mum and Dad wrote to eachother when they were courting .An old Tobacco Tin (sadly lost it's lovely smell),Family Bibles,The Christening Gown that is over a Hundred Years old now.I wore it and so did my Children and Janices children. It is too fragile now to be used again. There is a list of people worn the gown which is nice to have. William ,you have now got me wanting to go and have a look for everything lol Plus of course I have that lovely Autograph Book that belonged to my Grandmother. I did have a lot of cards and a log book from my dad to to with Ham Radio. But I gave them to a local Ham Radio Society.
I wonder what we will leave behind that our Children will find interesting?
Chris is in an odd mood tonight :-|....I wonder if it is the thought of hitting 60???
