Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Oct 2012 18:31

Right I have found the son Edward of Edward Wilson Bedford's marriage and he married Agnes Sawyer so the Edward Wilson Bedford is not related to your Horace Edward Bedford. They were both born about the same year which is confusing.

So Frank you can forget about being called STONES!!

Thanks for that Mandy, I'll have a look at it. I don't remember her being refered to by name, she was just in the brackground to my brother and I. We loved blind granddad Charley to bits, even though he wasn't a blood relative. We would love it when he wanted to 'see' how tall we'd grown, and we loved to see his Braille books and his watch.

While I'm, I just like to say it would have been my late brother Fred's birthday today. My only sibling, I still miss him so very much even though he lived down in Hornchurch. I put a tribute to him on Facebook this morning with a photo when it was his wedding day.

Whew, he's gone to footie so I can spend a bit of time on here now..........methinks he will need to be getting a laptop soon.

William, just fire away, there are several of us here that may be able to help and us ladies are good at multi tasking......you don't need to form a queue! I see Mandy has made a start for you already. :-D

Jane, thanks for those pics of Lottie and that little painting is just great! What a lovely keepsake. I bet Janice was surprised at what has been found about the Maneys too.

Frank I have sent a request to share your tree and tell Ros I LOVE the CROSS. It is a lovely design and it is a credit to her. :-D

William Report 2 Oct 2012 19:51

If I'm on the right track, I think she may have been Elizabeth M Lewin b 1875/6 Stratford/Poplar. If it's the right lady, I can trace her back to the 1881 census when her father was still alive, her mother was a widow in the next census and her sister (who became Harriett, same name as Elizabeth's mother, was also a widow at 36 (Tomkins) on the 1911 census. Of course, that's if I've got the right lady.
I going by her possible death in 1950 at Poplar when her age is given as 75. Hopoe I've done the maths right!

Thanks ladies. Night night

Now this is interesting as Elizabeth Fox is Betsey's mother and Betsey was Betsey Farmer born 1826 married to Christopher, right...

I have now found the marriage of Elizabeth Farmer and Thomas Fox married 23 Nov 1843. He was a widower and she a Spinster, yet on Betsey's marriage her father is a Frederick Farmer a News Vender same as Christopher is on the marriage.

Mel I put that on the thread yesterday afternoon at 14.25. I have to keep looking back to check before I post things. No sign of Frank's tree yet.

I have been mulling over the 'Fox' conundrum too.

Annx

Annx Report 2 Oct 2012 21:33

If that Is the right Elizabeth Fox and she was a spinster when she married in 1843 she must have had Betsey (born in 1826) in a previous marriage to Frederick Farmer and incorrectly put she was a spinster on the cert for her second marriage. She may then have innocently done that thinking she was a spinster if no longer married. We need to look for an earlier marriage or look for a baptism under the name Farmer.

This might be Betsey with her mother Elizabeth Farmer.

Morning/Evening All,

It looks like a lovely day today. Washing's flapping on the line. I have had my BP check which was fine and collected our prescriptions and had a mooch around the nearby charity shops while the prescriptions were done. I called in the shoe repair place too and was chuffed as the man there said he will cut me some rubber squares to nail on the bottom of the legs on the new arbour. I didn't want them to rot sitting in water on the slabs when it rains. :-D OH is measuring them for me so I can give the man the size.

We got the bill from the electrician today for doing the cabling for the waterfall pump. He spent more than a week digging trenches around all those bits of wall he found buried and has waited a year to be paid as we hadn't got the waterfall ready. We were flabbergasted how cheap the bill was.......thought it would be at least double!! :-D Am sending him a cheque today!

Fingers crossed they will find you are all 'dry' now Jane, so that the next phase can start!

Off to sieve some tomatoes to freeze now, then out to our favourite carvery for lunch. :-D

Morning / evening all,

Nice and bright here today and it rained like anything earlier on whilst still dark aboput 10 to 7. Oh shut the chickens in for me last night and let them out for me this morning and he had left one out all night. He said she did'nt look very pleased this morning. there is aways one out when I shut them in and I have to tell her it's bedtime and chase her in or pick her up and put her throuugh the pop hole. Sometimes I shine a torch in the house and count them but he dos'nt think of that. I only have 9 big girls left now....................
