Morning one and all/Evening Kim.

DIAMOND MERCHANT INDEED. You can call me "STONES" LOL LOL

None of the wealth came down the family, I know at one time I had relatives who had servants and lived in the very rich area of WEST LONDON Kensington i believe.

Yes Mel, The werather is doing to get bad down your way today, and spreading up to us later.

Ros has finished the "CROSS" we will get it on a curtain rail, so I can get a couple of photo's. I have taken one on the table, but dose'nt do it justice.

So Frank you need to change your husband of Ann Hessel to Edward Wilson Bedford c 1830.

Go to your tree and click on Christopher's box and change it to Edward Wilson and then click on Save.

Morning /Evening All

I have found the Autograph Book of Lottie's. :-D :-D Janice and I have done a lot of scrabbling around through all sorts of boxes.
In the book are 2 signatures belonging to a Florence Bruce and another Bruce.
Lottie was in a census living with these people so we definitely definitely have the right Maneys :-D :-D :-D
Now we are trying to look up an artist whose signature is in the book. G H Edwards and he had done a little water colour painting.
So surrounded by boxes covered in dust and muck we are working are way through old family photos and things and checking out possible famous autographs :-D

Just back from the Nurse. More bloods and FLU jab. The doctor, wanted more bloods after yesterday. I now have two empty arms and a sore shoulder.

Jane, that is good news, about your Lottie, It seems when you start things rolling more and more info comes to light.

Clouds now cleared away, and lots of warm sunshine, even though the wind has got a bite to it.

Mel, I will wait further instructions. !!

Afternoon All,

Just dived in on here while OH has a break from notes!

Yes Frank, can you share your tree with me too? :-D It will save time to see where things are up to and who is who before we lose the plot!! You are like me now then, I had a FLU jab yesterday and blood test as well!! I have a bit of a headache today, but I suppose it may be due to the flu jab as it is a side effect on the list. Looking forward to seeing the CROSS although, as you say, photos often don't do justice to these things.

Well done finding the 'Bruce' things Jane!! It is amazing how a little connection like that can make the difference. So it looks like your definite LOTTIE was really a CHARLOTTE all along!! lol. Have you found anything on the painter yet? How nice to have done a little painting. What is the painting of?

Sorry you are not well Kim, hope you feel better soon.

Oh, oh, OH is back indoors so I'd better make way for him.................BBL

Hi folks, back again after a few days off checking the posts. I've been back delving into my mothers family tree and have come up with a mystery. Is it only me who can think a thing and totally overlook a date and find I've got it all wrong?
I mentioned my granddad Charley a few posts ago. He is now at the hub of my mystery. I need some of you experts to put me back on track.
He was born Charles Frances Henry (or Henry Frances) October qtr 1884 in Poplar (Vol 1C-620) . I've found him on 1891/1901 &1911 census.
In 1931 he married Alice Brooks (widow) - my grandmother, in 1931 at West Ham. He died in 1952 in Plaistow.
Alice Thorn (Brooks) nee Thorne - confusing! died in 1933 at Plaistow, I have both their memorial cards.
When I used to go to see granddad Charley at Plaistow he was living with a lady I presumed was my grandma. I've only just twigged on Alice's death date, and I wasn't born until 1935. So who was the lady I presumed was my grandma? Who recorded his death? I always recall my Dad saying there were three mariages but I'm getting myself confused now. My Mum's dad, George Brooks b 1863 Bethnal Green, was married before to Louisa Howell who died in 1892. There were 4 children from that marriage and when he married Alice there were 4 children from that union. I think that they seperated as 1911 sees Alice Brooks with my Mum & her sisters living at 119 New Barn Rd, Plaistow, no George ( he can be found lodging with another family). She is still classed as 'Married' but 'Head'. Also at the bottom is a 'Henry Thorne' 41, single. I thought this might be my granddad Charley, but his birth date & place don't tally, nor his occupation.
I hope you experts understood that! I can't trace that Charley Thorn married again, but of course it's outside the census range. Any hlep for a novice would be gratefully received, I'm getting a headache from it and wish I could get it straight.

Now I have a little time to see if I can help but one at a time please?

Ann and Mandy if you go to contacts and send a message to Frank and ask for his tree permisson to view that may be better then he can just tick the Allow box.

Frank I think I shall have to work with the other two girls to try and sort the father of Horace Edward because the marriage cert says his fahter is Christopher and I am not sure now about the Edward Wilson Bedford.
