Well, Edward 'T' it may or may not be, but this appears to be the date of death for the same Edward!! But it is a bit odd the middle name Thomas turning up again, this time on the death record. This one had died before Lottie married though, so that bit fits!!

Name:Edward Thomas Maney
Estimated Birth Year:abt 1855
Date of Registration:Apr-May-Jun 1910

That looks like the same one in 1901c Mandy

This looks like Charlotte's baptism. Look at the middle name beginning with 'S'
It's a RC baptism and you can view the actual entry. Have a look at those middle names.......I can't make out what that 'S' one should be!

Your Irish hunch could well be right then Mandy! You are doing well getting your shed cleaned out and it will be good if you can sell some things too. What a nice surprise your hubby getting you a Ki*dle!! :-D.

I must carry on sorting my beads on the dining table now. OH couldn't even find room for his cereal bowl on there this morning. I've been saving bits of cord, ribbon and buttons as well. It will be good to get straight.

Glad you are 'tickety-boo' again Frank. I wonder if this chillier weather has affected Ros's back?

What a week you've had Pat!! :-S Can false teeth be stuck back on with superglue?I hope next week is better for you.

David you made me think of the C*lgate ring of confidence. You don't want anything underly cosmetic either...........David the 'Fang'!! :-0

Jane, do you or do any other rellies have Lottie's birth certificate???? It would help an awful lot.

Annx

Annx Report 29 Sep 2012 15:17

Oh I just had a chuckle!! I was looking through some of the 'MANEYS' and came across one whose relationship to the 'Head' of the family was 'Old Servant'. Under 'Occupation' it said 'CAN'T DO MUCH DOMESTIC'. There's not much left then is there?

Jane

Jane Report 29 Sep 2012 15:20

Well ,look at you two :-D :-D.Clever gals.It is looking right isn't it(especially the theatre connection). So both Edward and Lottie worked at the theatre.I really must find this autograph book and see what the earliest date is in there.I am wondering if it was in fact Edwards but then passed onto Lottie. It does have her name in the front.

I am going to have to do a bit of hoovering and quick dust now (before Janice comes tomorrow) but as soon as I have done that I will sit down and have a proper look at what you have both found.
I always thought there was something to do with Ireland. It must have been something my Mum said.
Thanks so much . :-D
Have a look on google maps at 4 Gt Minster St Winchester and you will see Lottie was living right opposite the Cathedral

Jane

Jane Report 29 Sep 2012 16:01

Ann .No ,no birth certificate. Can that be ordered?......LOL was that old servant one of my lot?
I'm just having a break from dusting as I have been sneezing my head off.It is awful as it is just like wiping grit :-S :-S.I have warned Janice that she will coming to stay in very mucky house and that there is not much I can do about it .I cleaned all the TV screen and unit thing yesterday. You should see it now .It is terrible. It 's really getting me down now .Just all the filth and noise.I really hope when the chaps come on Wednesday that they can take away all the dehumidifiers and fans.Silence will be Golden.(Remember that song??)Slience is Golden.I loved it but for the life of me I can't remember what group it was...Oh yes I can It was the Tremeloes.

Chester has been driving me around the bend today.I think he is itchy,so have just given him a Piriton.........he is now fast asleep....BLISS.

Right off to do a little bit of hoovering and then I will get down to looking through all your info
Where is Mel ? I thought she would be raring to go with searching :-D :-D

I think we must have the right info because of the connection to the Theatre .There can't be many Maney who were working in Theatre in Bristol in 1911!!!.and I know for sure that the Autograph Book I have has Lottie placed there :-D.

Well what a lovely day it has been.We still have blue sky.Maybe a chilly night.
Chris has been in the garden all afternoon and is grumbling about all the evidence of Bunnies!!! :-S.That gun will e coming out :-|

Baked Potatoes for dinner tonight with Baked Beans and a sprinkling of grated Cheese.Chris will want the tin of beans with the horrible little sausages in :-S

Mandy lucky you to have a Kindle Touch.I'm sure you will enjoy it. :-D

I was just wondering about the middle name for Edward. On Lottie's Marriage Cert it is John .In all the other searches it is Thomas.Do you think he could have been a John Thomas(as middle names) ....I just looked up John Thomas and other than it being in a biblical thing it comes up as the male appendage (if you know what I mean ;-) ;-) )

Evening all,

X factor on, so i'm out of the way.

I told you Jane, the girls would come up trumps with the info.

David, you should know the "girls" will always be there to help find relatives. It might be me next !!!

Ros had her Chinese tonight. I had a wing of state and chips from the chinese. It seems to be a regular Sat night tea for me. Will have to have a change of fish for next week.

Believe it or not but my Ex FIL had a friend who's name was "JOHN THOMAS" Whenever he rang him, if I asnwered the phone. I would ask who's calling and as soon as he said his name I had to put my hand over the telephone, so he couldn't hear me laugh. What a name to give anyone !!!

A friend down the road has been told he has Prostate Cancer. He has been going to the doctors for FOUR years with symptons, but nothing has been done. He changed Doctors, and they found it straight away. Poor chap He's only 60.

We had a lovely meal, instead of a birthday cake she had lots of little Cup Cakes ,so we brought ours home ,to full to eat them , i had some lovely soup ,Parsnip and honey ,then Chicken and bacon with melted cheese with salad and fries and hubby had Breaded Mushrooms with garlic dip and then Gammon and Pineapple.
The moon was bright coming home and you could really see the stars as we were out in the country side away from the lights of the town.

David
Possible marriage for Joseph ?
Marriages Sep 1838 (>99%)

ATKINSON Joseph Castle Ward 25 195
STOREY Alice Castle Ward 25 195

David the marriage cert will give Joseph's fathers name , if this is the marriage ?

Annx

Annx Report 29 Sep 2012 23:29

Good work Mandy, that marriage looks very promising! I could just fancy the meal you had tonight and what a good idea to have cake you can take home so easily.

I've had no luck up to now on finding Joseph in the 1841 census or his baptism yet, David and am off to bed now, but will try again. Mandy or Mel or someone else might have more luck. His baptism could have been years after his birth, so you could always try ringing the Record Office that covers Newcastle and see if they hold baptism records for 1813 onwards and then book a visit and trawl through the parish records to see if he is there. Or , as Mandy says, if it's the right one, the marriage certificate would show his father .

Night, night......I keep yawning, but bet I will be wide awake by the time my head hits the pillow. :-S
