Just back from a few days spent with daughter and Harry, new baby is due in just over three weeks and she has developed gesticular diabetes so I looked after Harry when she went to the diabetic clinic. We all went out to the Har**ester while I was there, not as good as your restaurant sounded Frank but it was pretty good with as much salad as you could eat and very reasonable, £50 for 5 five us and there was a bottle of wine included in that too.
Three beautiful little girls Mandy, your son will have a job keeping the lads at bay when they get older.
A very wet and miserable day if this weather continues I shall really look forward to jetting off to Tenerife in a few weeks. Glad to see you had a good holiday Sheila, things never change for Beryl and Donnie do they, funny reading about their antics not so much fun if you had to live with them though.

Raining here ,we were just wondering if we should put the heating on !!! it's quite chilly now.
Frank, poor Ros, hope she's not to bruised after her fall and i see she has been having a smashing time too :-S what a shame , i can see what you'll be doing tomorrow with the glue !! hope you manage to repair all the broken things.
My word you certainly had a good choice of Chinese food . What a pretty name for the new baby, i like it .
Maureen this gesticular diabetes is just some thing you get while pregnant isn't it ? Your daughter hasn't got to long to go then ,i wonder what Harry will think of the new baby :-)

Yes Mandy it does seem to be quite common and once she's had the baby it should return to normal although she will have to be a bit more careful what she eats as it can lie dormant and then something could trigger it and she would then end up with diabetes. It will be interesting to see how Harry reacts to the new baby, he does kiss the bump at the moment and he is a very loving little boy as long as he gets plenty of attention too I think he will be fine. She really wants a girl but is sure it is a boy, as long as the baby's healthy that's the main thing. There is such a choice of names for girls, Sophia Rose is very pretty, made me think of Fiona's Sofia, I bet she is a real little chatterbox now.
I'm thinking of putting the heating on too, I feel really cold and it's quite dark, winter's on the way :-0

Evening all,
Still persisting rain here, hasn't stopped all day.
It was soooo cold with all the rain and dark clouds, we put the heating and lights on.
Ros has been sat on the sofa all day. Not idle I might add. She has been doing the Wedding kneeler. I will be glad when she pass's it on to someone else. It takes up so much room, and often blocks my view of the Tele !!!!
Haven't heard from Harvey today, so I assume everything is O.K. regarding the baby. Poor old Lewis was playing football this afternoon, I bet he was soaked through and covered in mud.
Glad to see you back Maureen. Our friends in Teneriffe say the temp. is still the the 30s so something for you to look forward too.
Did Hannah enjoy her night out with the girls Jane.??? I bet it took her mind off other things. How old will Chris. be when he retires next year. Our main Doctor is down to TWO DAYS a week. Ros won't see anybody else, so I don't know what she will do when he packs up completely. I don't mind who I see,
Downton on later, in the meantime I will watch who's on here, and go on eBay. That Bl#### X factor is on soon. ,

Ooh Frank poor Ros had a morning didn't she :-S.Good job she wasn't hurt ,and what a shame about your broken glass.I hope you manage to get some of it together again. Hannah had a great evening thanks.I think it did her good to have a catch up .They are a smashing bunch of girls. Chris will be 60 in January.I'm quite pleased that he isn't going to totally finish work.A nice gentle easing into retirement I think will be the best thing for both of us lol
Maureen I think after this horrible weather for the next few days you will be packing your suitcase ready for your hols :-D It is the kind of day where you just want to put your Jimmies on and curl up on the settee.I don't possess any Jim Jams though :-S
I'm sure your daughters Diabetes will disappear once she has had the baby.I can't believe it is only 3 weeks to go :-0
The man is coming tomorrow to test the damp again.Fingers crossed we are nearly there.I am getting soooooo fed up now with all the noise and filth. It will seem so strange once all the machines and fans have gone.Bliss......then the real work will begin!!
I have just put more books on my Kindle.A couple of free ones ,a couple of really cheap ones and 2 that were £3 something.I am really loving the Kindle. It is on charge now ready for bed :-D
XF now ,so I'm off.

Happy Birthday Ellen.
Will Start to enjoy theting Autumn, get out and walk around some of the nice villiages we have round here This time of year things look so good with all the different colours. I will now be putting my bigger coat on to start looking down thew canal, for nice things to photograph.
Soon ne time fo Downton.
I have just been looking at war medals on eBay. there are some for bravery being sold by decendants of the brave people who earned them ,for next to no money. How could you do something like that.??
I wish I could have had my Dads from the 1st world war. I would tressure them till I passed on . then pass them down the family. I bet they are stuck in a draw somewhere, and forgotton. Such a shame.
Still hissing with rain.
Jane Julia and Harvey bought me two pairs (one winter one summer) of K. Klie# loafer type jim jam bottoms. I often put them on to laze around. I might even go and do that now with a T shirt. and sit and watch DOWNTON.
See you all tomorrow.
Good night God bless.

A doctor never stops learning. Some go an entire career never seeing some of the many illnesses they learn of while a student.
i have found when iv'e need of a doctor that a senior member of the panel gives better care than one of the many juniors.
A lot of their diagnosis is done by observation during the first couple of minutes.

Morning/Evening All
What a filthy mucky day.Not heavy rain (yet) ,but wet enough to get me and Chester a bit soaked just now. All the lights are on and I won't be going anywhere today ( not that I can with no car) :-| I think it a bit of H/W this morning.Maybe I'll tackle the en-suite and give the grouting a good scrubbing.I hate this job as I have to stand inside the actual unit and I nearly always end up choking on the fumes of the cleaner :-S
Frank ,I don't know if I said last night what a lovely name Sophia Rose is.
What is everyone up to today then.Staying Dry????

Morning All,
Lets hope ALL the damp your man finds is outside Jane. It is WET, WET, WET here!!! A few minutes ago I looked out the back and there were 7 Pigeons sitting on our bottom fence getting soaked. I wonder what they were doing there? :-S
Poor Ros falling like that Frank.........at least she didn't hurt her back hopefully. A busy morning with the gluepot for you today. Such a shame when things get broken, but at least the glues are better today so things can look good as new again. Sophia Rose is a very pretty name...........but if she's like me she may be a right tomboy!!
OH has gone to the tyre place again this morning as both of his front tyres keep losing air. He is driving to Workington and back to a match on Saturday with his pals so he wants them A1 for then.
Oh he's back.......will catch up later...........belated happy birthday to Ellen, David.......she's the same age as me. :-D

Morning from a very dark, wet Northants.
I think it must have rained all night, as there are puddles in the road, and the rain is still pitter pattering down.
We have no reason to go out today, apart from getting the bins in. I got soaked last nght putting them out.
I can see my book getting a good read today.
Conrad and Jan are off to the Carribean Wednesday week. for a week. (BUSINESS TRIP THEY SAY) Can't be bad. They are going to see how the deveoplment is progressing. They have an intrest in it themselves. Wheather they will evr use the apartment, will have to be seen . It's really an investment, but hey can use it for a month each year if they want too. I don't think Ros and I will ever be able to afford the fare.
Keep dry all, and have a good day.

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Belated birthday wishes to Ellen. Hope David spoilt you rotten. x
Well I threw myself on the bed yesterday afternoon lateish and fell asleep till 7.30pm. just as it was getting darkish. It had been an awful day of wild wind and heavy rain. Did'nt want anything to eat as felt a bit strange. Did the steak rolls for oh who seems to have a nasty cough and cold at the mo. Kept a bit of steak in the fridge for me if I wanted it later. Watched Downton and had my roll about half way through. Oh had gone to bed by this time. Went to bed about just before 1am and woke for the usual in the night and went back to bed and woke again at 9.45am. Feel ok this morning and the sun is out here and there but it is still windy. Oh won't put the bins out because they blow around up the top so they can wait till next week.
Our doc has just retired completely after doing a few years of two days a week which were the days I would go. He was a surgeon too but the new doc is old and grey with glasses and a bit of a stoop and a friend tells me he stinks of ciggy smoke. I hav'nt had to see him yet but I am hoping the new lady doc will start there soon and I shall try her if there is anything wrong.
Our old doc was the same age as oh and they have the same christian name.

Well OH didn't expect to need 2 new tyres!! :-S His tracking was out, the garage says the humps do it and all those square humps with the bevelled sides we have around here scuff the insides of the tyres and ruin them too. I have to almost stop to go over them with my little wheels. It seems crazy to me that small cars have to nearly stop, yet 4x4s that could do some real damage if they hit you don't even need to slow down over them with their big wheels.
Mandy, wait till he's home a lot more!! :-S I'm still 'adjusting'. lol. He has made me jump out of my skin a couple of times last week. He thinks I can hear him coming into the kitchen with the kettle boiling and dishwasher going and then talks loud over them right next to me, nearly giving me a heart attack! I told him I would get my own back because he thought it was funny and I did a couple of times by shouting 'boo' at him when he didn't expect it........didn't seem to think that was quite as funny!! :-D Now he walks everywhere round the house saying 'It's only me' ages before he approaches. lol.
Maureen I bet you can't wait to get away from all this rain. :-) My sister had diabetes when she was pregnant with one of hers. It cleared up afterwards though. Not long to wait now.......how many grandchildren do you have altogether?
Sounds like you may have had a bug Mel, glad you feel better today. :-D

Think it's David's birthday next month Mandy, didn't we get it wrong last year and he ended up with two lots of birthday wishes :-D
Still wet and windy here too but looks like it might brighten up, it still feels cold though.
I can't understand how any family would sell their relatives war medals either Frank. Such an important part of their history. When we cleared out my mum's home we found quite a lot of medals, some of them were ones given out to all servicemen but my grandad was awarded the DCM and there was a copy of a news report with it too.
