We sat with doors and windows open till passed 11 pm last night. and I slept on top of the bed, with windows open. Very warm. This morning RAIN RAIN RAIN.!!!

I am so pleased I got my lawns and edeges down. They look a real treat so green and in perfect condition. Even if I say so myself.

The number of slugs and snails around this year in incredible, I have used 4 tubs on Slug Killer around the boarders, and the pond is being used as their "SWIMMING POOL" As I find them amongst the veg, and in the greenhouse. When they go through the granuals, they leave the slime trail over the lawn. Round by the HOSTA on the patio, I found 14 of the little Bs

Ros has just come back from Dr from a blood test. She's off to the hairdressers for 11.am Then on to Tesc# So "HOME ALONE AGAIN TODAY"

Conrad and Jan are down in Torquay this weekend. I don't think they will try to call and see us on the way back, because of Silverstone. Local Radip sain the roads are packed this morning, and the camp sites are a MUD BATH

Its been bucketing down here ,never seen rain like it ,i had to go and pick sister up from work this morning the road was flooded and water was lifting the drain covers !!!

What a day 'tis proper miserable :-S.So stuffy too.We had the fan on all night in the bedroom

Fitz will be here any moment with a card and a bottle so I had better go for now.When he goes I have to empty the big unit of all glass ware so it is clear for Chris and James to move tomorrow when Chris investigates under the floor boards.

Happy Birthday Jane.. finished shift in charity shop a little while ago...i am heading back there in a mo...to help them out as they are staffed,,I wore my new shoes this morning and have been standing and walking on them for 4 hours my feet :-( going to put a flat pair on to go back lol..

I watched some of When I'm 65, was a bit depressing, it must be everyone's biggest dread, having to go into a nursing home.

I went to inspect my one tomato plant yesterday, it has actually got some flower on it so maybe I will get some tomatoes. The garden is looking very pretty, masses of hollyhocks which have self seeded have lots of flower now and the perrenial geraniums are spreading pink flowers everywhere.

Not sure I will get back on here today so have a great day tomorrow Jane with Hannah and let's hope we get a bit of sunshine.

Maureen .Your card is beautiful.Fitz was here when I opened it couldn't believe it was hand painted.He was most impressed :-DYes he brought a bottle of Fizz so we had that and a few nibbles and moaned about the weather lol.
I will open my pressies later when Chris gets home.Not much fun doing it on my own .I think I might know what most of them are lol.I do know that there are 2 books .The following two of that 'Rude' book ;-)
Fitz and his OH gave me some very pretty flowers which are now in a huge vase on the hearth.,and Fitz gave me a lovely little egg cup in the shape of a Puffin.I wondered why he asked me the other day if I ate boiled eggs lol
James bought some lovely flowers too .White Roses and some very scented other white ones.Unfortunately I have had to put them in the front porch window as the scent was just too overpowering for me.He said that after he bought them and drove home in the car with them he just knew that I wouldn't be able to keep them in the lounge.

I have an extremely bored Chester here.Poor old boy.Because the weather has been so awful he hasn't really been out and about :-SBut now it looks like the rain might have gone as I can see some blue sky :-D

Has anyone heard from Sheila lately?I hope she is alright.William too nothing from him either for a while :-S

I am pleased your weather has turned a bit better for your birthday Jane. It has turned to rain here after a nice morning.

We went off to the garden centre this morning as we needed some more pond compost. also got some more pond plants!! but first we had lunch in their cafe'. I had steak and ale pie and oh had scampi. then we went round the plants and oh fell in love with a hydrangea with black stem and lacey type flowers. They had them in blue and pink so he bought one of each colour. we have put them in my big mauve pots and have them on the decking under the red maple tree. After that I bought a pretty white daisy, can't think what it is called at the mo!! and a niger seed feeder. Got the seed the other day and then found I had'nt one of those kind of holders.......

We were set for a nice afternoon of potting up what we had bought but it started to rain so we came in........ :-| :-| :-|

Jane your egg cup sound nice. I know you like puffins so that was a good pressy. Hope you have a nice time with Hannah tomorrow and a safe journey.

OH has been on here most of today, so no chance to look at the thread till now. MIL is causing more headaches. Because they have collected the car to assess the damage, she has assumed it is written off without waiting to hear, has sent off the log book and has sent off to claim back the road tax! OH told her what would happen next and to wait to hear from the insurance company. :-S We tried to tell her it could be repairable even if it is written off, but she is impatient and doesn't listen .......knows best. :-S

Well OH didn't get the probation service job, but after his interview yesterday, they rang to tell him he'd got that job this morning. He will be an independent person working on complaints against councillors like the other job for a different council. Not too time consuming so ideal. He made them laugh at the interview there too. They were talking about complaints and he said that often these things weren't black or white and that until a few weeks ago he might have said they were 50 shades of grey, but not anymore!! lol

I went to collect my jewellery this afternoon and was pleased to find that 7 of the 8 things I took had sold, so I was very chuffed as I was a bit worried I had overpriced some........I now have money to buy more beads. :-D The other girls had sold things too, so we were all happy bunnies.

I set my back off yesterday with cracking on in the garden and had a job to straighten up this morning. Slapped a patch on it and have taken Ibu*rofen and hopefully it will soon recover.

Frank, I poured a can of water down the little waterfall yesterday and it works a treat. The electrician won't connect it up until we have the chippings all down though to have the right level for the connector. He did all the digging of trenches and laying the cable last summer and I have offered to pay him the bulk of the bill twice, but he just says, 'don't worry, wait till I connect it up'.

It was interesting your charity shop have started charging for bags Pat. I see that it may be the same with supermarkets soon.

The river down the road and the brook through one of the villages I went through this morning were about to overflow.........flooding looks to be inevitable, especially with more rain expected tomorrow. Our water butts are all full and overflowing, but usually in June they are empty!

Well! Murray's won his match, So here's hoping for Sunday!!

Well I was a bit wrong on guessing my presents.I did get books ,but not the ones following on from Shades of Grey.I got a KINDLE so I can download those books :-D.Now I just have to work out how to use a Kindle lolol.Perfume too Channel No5.

Have you tried that gel Voltarol Pain Ease(it's called something like that).Its blooming marvelous.I rub it in my hip and shoulder especially at night when I go to bed.It might to your back the world of good

Don't know David :-D. It was always Jumble Sales for second hand goods.But you don't see them anymore.

Jane so glad the weather cleared a bit for your birthday. How do you cope with perfume as opposed to that from the flowers. I had to give all my perfumes away when I got sick. I do so miss them and among that lot was Channel No. 5. :-( My brother got a Kindle for Christmas and really loves it. Poor Chester did he manage to have a walk?

Ann hope the back has improved overnight. I have heard there it lots of flooding happening over in England, sounds just like our last summer.

Shirl has commented on some of my fb posts so I hope that means her headaches are easing.

As much as I love Roger Federer, I would really like Andy Murray to win. He deserves it and is well overdue. Good luck Andy.

Liz thanks so much for those photos. I haven't had a chance to have a good luck as we got the new computer today and the emails have to be loaded. Must say this computer is so fast, I'm really in heaven now whoosh.

Where is Sheila at the moment? Are they having bad weather in her neck of the woods too?
