Well, I've made a start on that caravan! It's a lovely morning here so no excuse not to get it started! the fridge was all mouldy where a certain person had shut the door after turning it off!!! he swore blind that he had wedged it open, but........well it was very mouldy! It's now nice and clean and wedged!! This afternoon I am going to tackle the cooker, and go round the whole thing bit by bit. The outside needs pressure washing but you know who can do that! Next Thursday Polly and Laura go to Mlata for four days for a gym competetion, so I am looking after Alice and Ed till Saturday, then Laura's in-laws have them till Monday, sharing the load!!! Must say, i am looking forward to seeing them. :-D

Pat how right you are, the clouds are realy thickening now.

Have been sitting in the garden, reading and watching the birds. A buzzard or hawk has been circling around for ages. A little robin is hopping around the lawn, I have just put out some meal worms for him/her.

The neighbours blue tit babies are making a hell of a racket, everytime the parents leave the nest box, hungry little blighters.

Liz, It seems you get all the good jobs. What was Ian doing Supervising YOU :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Jane Report 5 Jul 2012 16:10

Well I am not a happy bunny :-S :-S
If the wet is caused by the Water Table we are covered for absolutely NOTHING.We now need to get B Gas in to check the pressure in the boiler to see if it is losing water in the system. Now if that is the case we will be covered for everything. Also we need to get up some floor board between the kitchen and lounge and see if their is any standing water underneath. If so then that will mean it is the W Table :-S
The man said he will leave the claim open until we find out .So I say *********!!

BT has been and set up our new whatever.Touch wood everything will be a lot quicker now and we won't keep dropping out of the internet.

I am pretty sure I heard thunder some way off just now and there are some rather nasty big black clouds building up.

I picked all our Petit Pois and have just finished shelling them.I now have very green thumb nails lol

Afternoon all,

Its been a lovely day here ,looking out now at a clear blue sky ,not a cloud in sight.

Mel, the deer does look like a kangaroo in the first photo, very alert ,knew you were there !!
I can remember mum having all sorts in her stitching basket ,lots of silks because she use to stitch the chair backs and the things that went on the arms of the chairs , i suppose thats way i love cross stitching now,i must get back to my cross stitch ,i haven't done any for a while.

Pat, you still buying things LOL i thought you were leaving your purse at home :-D

I bought an Acer this morning , went into Lid*s and they had several different ones at £5 each ,but now i need to buy a new pot to put it in !!

What a bu**er Jane ,and what an expense it will be for you !!
Lets hope it is the boiler .
I love fresh peas ,i even eat the pods !! if i buy some not many go in the pot !!

I've had Chelsea here this afternoon , son and DIL had to go and register Lacey ,so Chelsea wanted to stay with me ,so its been an afternoon of jigsaws and playing shops :-D

Has any one else had a lot of flies in , they seem to be about in droves here !! and the fly sprays don't seem to touch them !!
I'll have to get the old fly papers out LOL wonder if you can still buy them , i remember mum having them hang about ,seem to remember they use to stink a bit too.,( the papers not the flies !!)

No Frank, Ian was busy getting the water and plumbing sorted in the kitchen - what a performance that has been, but now we have both, so only the utility room to fit out and we will be finally 'up and running'!! I loved your 'story', goodness you boys could all have been blown up!! no one ever seemed to be, charmed lives I guess! Jane, crossed fingers that it's your boiler at fault, I would have thought that it is the water table, your neighbours would be affected, I think you said they weren't very ammenable, but it might be worth asking them? Must pick some Raspberrys, Seen the sun here today, still in shock!!

Frank it sounds like a Buzzard or Kite if it circling. The noise baby birds make is incredible. So much noise from such tiny creatures.Mind you the Magpies are another matter :-S :-S
Sorry if I have already told this......but every morning just after 4am they kick off. There must be a nest in one of the trees in the front .The noise was so loud and seemed so close the other morning I looked out the bedroom window and there were 2 Magpies messing around in the guttering.Probably only 4 ft from my window.Little blighters :-S
I feel a bit like a Moaning Minny this afternoon :-|.I think Chris will do well to stay out of my way otherwise he might get snarled at.The dog is giving me funny looks .Funny how they can pick up on tension. If he is sensible he will stay out of the way too lolol.James is lucky .He will be off to work at 6.No doubt with a sigh of relief.
You lot know me I am not normally a miserable old goat. :-D :-D.

Pat those shoes were a good buy.I love Footglove.Nice and bendy.I can't wear heels.Like Mel my big toe won't bend on one foot(arthritis)I am thinking with the rain on saturday I will be wearing my black ankle boots to London. That is not a problem as they are comfy. If the weather was guaranteed dry it would have been sandals, but I would have taken a spare pair as not all my sandal shoes are comfortable enough for walking around London in

Good Girl Liz.The caravan will be clean and sparkling very soon now :-D
My James if off to Malta on Tuesday.I hope Polly does well there with her Gymnastics Comp.

David Report 5 Jul 2012 17:12

Jane,if there was standing water below your house surely you would smell it (stagnant). If there was it would surely rise as in rising damp.

The man who services your boiler would tell you if the water pressure wasn't correct.

Phew.....hot isn't it. I was saying to Mel that I don't think I have ever seen Roe deer in the wild. They certainly are pretty.

No diagnosis yet then Jane.....how frustrating when you just want to know what is causing the problem!! :-S You can check the boiler water pressure on a dial on the front of condensing boilers, but if yours is an older one I don't know.

I have been in the garden this morning, raking and levelling things and OH has been shovelling ballast in between other jobs. I disturbed a big ant's nest and found a tiny dark grey spiderlike insect walking on my arm.......wondered if it was a tick as it had very short legs. I will be so glad to get planting soon, things are very cramped in their pots. Mandy, Acers look very pretty in pots don't they......some are bargains this time of the year.

Well done Liz, I bet the caravan is beginning to look very sellable now! I bet the grandchildren are looking forward to sleeping in your new place. :-D

Pat, I have had those footglove shoes in the past and they are comfy as you say. I got some nice beads in a charity shop today, they were on a belt too. I had gone to collect OH and my prescriptions from the docs. Only OH's was ready so I took that in the chemist and they said it would be a quarter of an hour wait, so I went to the 3 charity shops! :-D Best of it is when I went back, they couldn't do OH's as they had run out of supplies, so I came back empty handed for both of us. :-S

Frank, baby birds are noisy aren't they. We have had one or two birds of prey in the field at the back just lately. They seem to really enjoy themselves on the thermals.

OH has his car booked in somewhere else next week to diagnose what's wrong with the aircon. He was gasping for air on his trip to Melton in his suit today. lol Serves him right I have been telling him to do something about it since we got back from our hols.

Shame Eric Sykes has died.........used to love him with Hattie Jaques.

Ann's got the HIC CUPS.

What a glorious day, in between the clouds. I have been pottering about and sitting down reading most of the day.

Took the potato's out of one of the bags today. From 3 plants I got 26 Golf ball size. The skins almost feel of under the tap. They were so tasty, with fresh Broard Beans, Peas out of the pods, baby carrot, and Runner beans from last years harvest. Had all that with pork chops and onion gravy. For afters I made a Bread and Butter pudding, with fresh cream.

Ann, I imagine the garden will look great after all this hard work you have both put into it. You will have to let us have a photo.

I see we are well passed the "BATTLE OF HASTINGS"

OH JANE, What are we going to do. ??? David made a very valid surgestion. Lets hope it's not as bad as you first thought.

Mel, What a day to decide to do housework. Up here it was the best day for ages. I see tomorrow the South Midlands and eastern England could get between 1" and 2" of rain in 24 hours. Batton down the hatches. !!!

<3 <3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR JANE <3 <3 <3

Hope you have happy celebrations today and get lots of lovely gifts and cards. Have you anything special planned, going out to dinner, etc.?? Best wishes from me.

Aside from that, sorry to read about all your dampness problems. I do hope it is claimable and not the water table. Hope James has a nice holiday in Malta. How long is he gone for? Don't let all the crap get you down today, leave it for tomorrow.

Ann hope your back is improved today. Loved your comment about the card on the mantelpiece. I too get a buzz when all your cards arrive from the UK. It is a special feeling.

Liz good luck to Polly in Malta as well.

Shirl sorry to read about your headaches. I have missed you on here as well as Fiona. Any ideas what the cause might be?

Frank I have not had a chance to look at your new photos yet, but I am enjoying all your funny emails. Keep 'em coming.

Is really wet, cold and miserable here today. Washing hanging in the garage, can't use drier any more because of the carbon tax, really pi**ing off the population. Means high costs across the board. So glad when this mob get voted out.

Finally got the new computer. Ready to be picked up so hopefully tomorrow. This old thing has been so slow (and this old thing too, lol). Our friend Doug has built it for us. He would be coming up to 87 - I tell you he leaves me for dead, such a brilliant mind and grasp of new technology.

Mel that deer was very pretty. Skippy has definitely not escaped from the national park. ;-)

Hello to Maureen, Pat, Mandy and everyone else. Where is William? I hope your weather is reasonable, even sunny today. Have a good day. 5.38 pm AEST.
