Pat ,it doesn't seem possible.Maybe we will have a scorching July August and September (ha ha!)

Kim ,any news on your neighbour? Will her family be able to take care of the little puss for her should things not turn out well? I can understand you being given the big NO by your OH .He knows you have enough to cope with without having to take on more responsibility ,even though you might want to lol

Well the lunch was very nice, but I don't really like eating Chinese at lunch times as I find I get too full and then feel uncomfortable for the afternoon. It's very tasty though.Fitz always finishes up with a Banana Fritter :-S.I think i would have been sick lol.

Pouring with the wet stuff all afternoon.I did hear on the radio that it may be possible the Water Company will lift the hosepipe ban a bit earlier than expected. But don't know when that might be.
I wonder how Frank is getting on.Making Sandcastles,Riding Donkeys ,Eating Ice cream????...Getting WET.I haven't seen the forecast for Torquay.

Maureen ,Sorry I forgot I shouldn't be mentioning grub now.Have you got a good book in the loo seeing you will be spending a fair bit of time in there :-)
Will be thinking of you tomorrow <3

Hello Shirl .Didn't see you there.
My Dad made me stilts. They were great and I spent hours tottering around on them.I seem to remember bashing my friend around the ear with one when she told me that Father Christmas didn't exist :-S :-S :-S.I called her a liar and ran indoors crying my eyes out to tell Mum.She then told me that what Joanna said was actually true.God I was heart broken.Mum was lucky I still didn't have those stilts in my hands :-D

Annx Report 7 Jun 2012 21:06

It will be good to get some wheels David so you can pop here and there. I bet Ellen has missed having a car too. I hope you get it. :-D

Thanks for that Shirl. I have ordered a cheap one on E*ay. I need it to glue my tassels on!! ;-) lol. Look forward to seeing your pics of the toms. I think the weather was supposed to be quite bad in the southwest, wind as well as rain. I don't think Frank will be baring anything or getting his knotted hanky out yet!! I hope the weather improves soon where he is. I remember playing on home made stilts too and tying on wooden plank skis to 'ski' down the steep drive in the snow. (didn't work.....fell off them!).

It has pelted down most of the day here. I went about 28 miles to a garden centre near Nottingham after ringing them to see if they had a Daphne shrub I wanted. I ended up soaked, even with an umbrella as every plant I picked up dripped all over my arms. I also got a nice dark leafed evergreen Ceanothus I had been looking for for a while, 'sapphire blue' so I was pleased about that. Then I got soaked again getting them to the car. They are still in the boot and can stay there till in the morning when hopefully it will have stopped raining. On the way back one lane of the dual carriageway was half covered in water so there was huge spray as we all drove through it.

Kim, as if your poor neighbour hasn't had enough sad news. It must be hard to keep going when it is one thing after another. I hope the other lady in hospital is improving. She was doing well after her operation wasn't she.

I hope your appointment is a morning one Maureen so it is soon done with. Then you will be able to have a little treat.....or two! ;-) Is that pussycat still inviting himself in? One of the new cats from up the close was sat on our fence this morning. He must have thought OH had cleared the bambles and nettles behind it so he could watch for the mice. This particular one is always hunting in the field. I think he is a silver tabby.

Morning/Evening All
What a blooming day :-S.'tis dreadful.Poor Frank and Ros .I hope they manage to get out and about in this foul weather.
I am going to take Fitz to collect his car from the garage soon and then nip and try and get James a bigger bit of blackout material for his bedroom window. Then I will be straight home and not venturing out again.Yet another pile of ironing will be waiting for me.I don't know where it all comes from :-S :-S

Ann I love the Tabby.He's gorgeous :-D :-D..................BBL

Morning Jane and everyone,

Has been sunny here, but cold not good for drying my mountain of washing.

Joy is not doing so well. Confusion still reigns and she is hooked up to so many machines. Still thinks she is at home, they are not sure whether it is the bacteria or shock has brought on the memory problems. She is being pumped full of antibiotics. It now seems she was out in that horrendous storm moving her plants and outdoor setting. The thought of it is terrible. I went down with Keith to feed Cosi. She is such a sweet little girl and so lonely on her own. We will help out until a decision is made, but I'm not sure that Joy will be able to live in her little house any longer.

Ann's friend on the back fence is beautiful, such a lovely colour and markings.

Sorry you are having such awful weather. I thought things might be clearing up at this time of year. We are expecting more rain on Sunday.

Hope all goes well for Maureen today.

Have a good day. 9.41 pm EST

Appointment isn't until 2.00 so I'm sitting here waiting for the cab, another 20 minutes, daughter will pick me up when it's all done.

Thank you for your good wishes, when you read about others, like your neighbour Kim, puts things into perspective.

Haven't seen our lodger since I chased it down the garden throwing stones at it, I wasn't aiming to hit him just to scare him off, it might have done the trick, the last time he was here I caught him trying to bite Alfie either that or he was trying to pick him up from the neck as mummy cats do, Alfie is so small perhaps he thought it was a kitten.

Do you think you may take on Cosi Kim if your poor neighbour has to go into a nursing home.

That was a long way to drive Ann for a garden centre, still it sounds like it was worth it to get the plants you wanted all you need now is some decent weather to start planting.

Afternoon All

Miserable day here weather wise, damp & cold had to put the heating back on.

finished my ironing and hoovering,

Headaches improving, but still only staying on the computer for short times.I haven't picked up a book or done a jigsaw for the last 4 weeks, some times I get fed up just watching rubbish on the TV for something to do,
:-\ :-(

OH still having to work from home as his computer will not connect with the IT at his works in Glasgow, the folks at the works don't seem to be bothered to do anything about it as long as they can work :-| :-S

Afternoon everyone,

What a day !!! went shopping , came out of Tes*o's and the heavens opened ,i have brought some shopping in from the car the rest can stay there , there's nothing that will hurt , the wind is really strong ,its blown the brolly over twice !! i've now taken it down and laid on the garden swing .

I do hope Frank and Ros get some dry days while they are there so they can get out and about ,i think its rained each day down there since they went !!

Hope all goes well for you Maureen , you've probably gone by now .

Ann, what a beauty the cat is ,such lovely markings ,he does look like a mouser and i see he has a bell on his collar for the birds !!!

That's sad news about your friend Kim, poor little puss must be missing her mum, will you take her if her mum doesn't come back home ?

Shirl, thanks for the photo's , poor tree, will you plant another in its place ?
Lovely shawl, pretty colours on it , it will be nice to put round your shoulders, and keep the chill off .

Rain has eased a little now , might see if i can unload the bits from the car .

Maureen I wish. No Keith won't let me have another cat, two already. I'm not sure what will happen to her, but she is a really pretty little cat. Yes it does put things into perspective, she is very lucky to have such a good family and so close by too. They keep an eye out for her regularly and so do most of us in this street. Some old folk don't have any one. It's a sad thought.

Fiona hope your headache disappears soon, been hanging around for a while.

Hi All,

Gosh have we had a gale here last night and this morning. Oh has been out there mowing the lawn to pick some of the leaves up that have blown off the trees. We also lost a branch off our big ash tree. I hope poor Frank and Ros have better weather down in Torquay but I doubt it very much.

Our telly is'nt working well so I have'nt seen the news or forcast.

Thought I had a day at home but oh has just said i HAVE TO GO TO bARNSTAPLE WITH HIM...................................

How in earth has he managed to mow the lawn in this weather Mel?You wouldn't have managed that here today :-S

I feel so sorry for Frank and Ros.What a Bummer of a week weather wise.I don't think he will coming back with a nice Tan.When is he coming home?
It looks bad for the the next week :-SI suppose one good thing is we won't need to worry about watering the garden.Just the Greenhouses.
Janice and family have booked a Narrowboat for the day on Sunday for her sons 21st.She was hoping for sun .I think she is going to be out of luck there :-S :-S.Plus as she doesn't drink she is in charge of steering :-0 :-0.I can see chaos there lol.For one thing she doesn't know her left from right. Also not quite sure how she will cope getting on and off with that knee of hers.I can just imagine!!

Maureen ,I hope you aren't too uncomfortable tonight after your Colonoscopy.I believe it can cause awful painful windy pops ;-)
