Eeeeee! it's blooming humid today. No air at all.I have just got home from Northampton with Jess.It was successful as she bought 2 very lovely dresses and I got myself a new pair of sunglasses :-DJust put my feet up for a moment while James steak pie is cooking.I don't think he will eat much of it as he said this is like his breakfast .I suppose he will get used to having a meal when he gets up late afternoon. He said he slept well today while we were out so I reckon he had about 61/2 hours. Oven is pinging so I better stick a few veg on quickly.BBL

Mel, (I'm glad this topic has got folk going) - I had a yellow Reliant once, in the hot summer weather (yes, we DID get some even then) it used to get covered in little flies, espicially if you went out in country and parked up. You had to sort of make a mad dash to get in so that the flies didn't get in with you. The latter Reliant's had heaters but they weren't very efficient. One winter we drove back from Skegness when it had been snowing all night. We had to go slow because the roads were bad, it was following the Xmas holiday so very little gritting or clearing had been done. Because we were going slow, the heater didn't work very well and the inside of the windows started freezing up. It took us about 5 hours to get home, that's one trip I'll never forget. However, we stayed firmly one the road and never had one slip, where four wheelers were having problems and we saw several in ditches. I think because our front single (steering) wheel was in the snow that had not been squashed down, we had grip where it was needed.

Decking all finished and we have christened it by having a cup of tea and coffee on it.
I have had a good go in the kitchen and that too is looking nice and tidy in one half.
Been a lovely day with plenty of sunshine.

It is so interesting to see your thread on the bubble car and scooters and indeed the Robin Reliant I remember them all so well William and theres is a lovely place in Lichfield city centre who did have all those cars. a few years ago anyway.
My friend Angie had a red bubble car in the fifties she called it apple and she loved it. it was a Peel Trident bubble car thats all I remember in her photo album she had pictures of a BMW Isetta Heinksal cabin car which was a funny shape if I rememer not rounded and a picture of the Hayes service manuel. One day poor Apple was stolen from the side of the house and every attempt to find it. About six weeks later the police came and told my friend they had found her car on a tip in Bilston and my friend went out to look and was broken hearted poor apple was smashed up and tipped on its roof. not in any condition to drive .
MY brother had a NSU Lambretta it was so cute he went everywhere on it. We had a three wheel car it was our first car when married and we went everywhere in it. My brothers got three vintage cars he shows them for charity the last the luckemia charity held in Birmingham . He takes a few people a ride . Fiona do hope you get rid of your headaches .

Hi all,
Turned very cloudy earlier, but now the sun is out, and a lovely evening.
Jane, I think the Buzzards were back this afternoon, So high up and again floating on the air stream.
Didn't cook again tonight. We have started getting a young couple coming round with a Fish and Chip van, so thought we would try it. It only comes on Tuesday evening. I had Cod and chips and Ros a Fish cake, we shared the chips. Very good is was too, and only £5.20 for F & C and £1.50 for a good sized fish cake. Plenty fopr both of us. and only the plates to wash up.
Ros is watching her Holby, I will catch THE SILKS at 9.00 pm.

First for the day. Lazy Bugg####.
I was awake again at 4 am dozed till 6.30. Up and at it !!! Tea, shower and shave before 7.30. Doors and windows all open, nice breeze going through. I am in my shorts, ready for the garden later.
David,It was one thing I never wanted to own. Traveled many miles on the back of them.
When stationed in Calne Wiltshire, a lad who lived about 5 miles from me, would take me home and back at weekends. Not the most comfortable ride, but better than Hitch Hiking.
My Brother in Law had one, and offered to teach me to ride one, NO THANKS. Too many deaths even in those days.
See you all later

Morning/Evening All
Who are you calling lazy Frank???? I have been up and about for hours :-D Lovely emails today Frank .That poor chap inside the Elephant!!!!!.Rather him than me lol.
I was talking to a lady from the sables earlier and she was telling me she will have to have her horse put to sleep fairly soon :-(.She was getting upset telling me poor thing.I think she may be able to keep him for another month or 2 but if he gets worse she will have to say bye bye a bit earlier .He is 20 yrs ex racing horse and has an old shoulder injury which is now become arthritic and a bit deformed and causing a lot of pain. She says it costs her over £400 per week to keep the horse!!!.More now because of the medication.
Pat I hope the weather stays good for your trip to Hayling Island.I love those little trains and always go on them if I can .
Must get on now so will see you all a bit later.

Morning all,
Some rain today, not as cold. We are in for a wet few days I believe.
Fiona that will be quite an extension to your dining room. How long will it take? You seem to have better builders over there than what we do, but when I think back on Pat's problems I'm not so sure. Hope your headache is gone or improving. Is it the heat?
Frank I agree. Have had lots of friends and relatives in bike accidents, some fatal. Not keen on them at all, but would have liked a ride in my earlier days just to see what it was like.
Not much happening here, so might BBL. 8.04 pm EST

Kim, Good job we know you. re-read the last bit about motor bikes !!!! Wouldn't we all. SORRY my dirty mind !!!!
Been putting bedding plants out (ROS SAID I COULD) LOL LOL. She has gone to have her nails done this morning. Asked if I wanted anything. I said a case of BEER !!!! It's nice to sit in the evening with some nice cold beers.
The village is doing a months survey on the amount of traffic that comes through. I have said I will do two hours a day when I get back from Torquay. So Thursday 14th I start. It goes from 6 am to 7 pm each day. It seems that since the by-pass was put in. The lorry drivers have found it quicker to come off the by-pass and go through the village and join up with the M 1 I think the only way to stop it is to put a weight restriction signs on the ROAD where they leave the by-pass to come through the village. We will see.
I'm going for an hours read, under the shade of the cherry tree. and relax with a COK#
