Ive never rode a motor bike. Was badly damaged in 1994 while riding a bicycle. Hit by a Volvo, pelvic fractures. I either drive or walk. Also use the Metro in preference to buses.
After 1994 I'm lucky I can walk

We are having a real good shower at the moment. I was sitting outside reading, when the heavens opened., never moved so fast for ages. Neighbour had a line or washing out. She didn't hear me call (DEAF AS A BRUSH) I had to telephone her in the end.!!!!
I'm not cooking tonight, Ros is going to do a stir fry. Must be getting ready for holiday. Salad Monday, F & C last night. Ros cooking tonight. What will tomorrow bring ?????
It's stopped raining, hardly dampened the patio :-0 :-0 :-0 Might get some more as it moves around the area.. Will still have to water greenhouse.
David are you "RUN DOWN" How did you get a blood blister there. ??? She's not thumped you, has she :-D :-D :-D
The neighbour with the old Labrador, had to have him put down yesterday, his back legs keet collapsing, and he got to the point where he couldn't get up anymore. I took some meat round for him and the new pup, she broke down in tears, and I had to console her. Good job she got the new puppy
Throwing it down again now, Have you got any Jane ????

Today I'm going to combine Relaint's with children. My first Reliant Regal van had two front seats as usual but someone had fitted seats in the back, which was why I bought it with us, with having two small children. However, when we used to go down to Essex at weekends to see my folks, we used to leave late-ish becuase I was at work on Friday. I made a board that had two 'legs' at the front so they rested behind the front seats. That meant the board rested on the back seats forming a platform. We would make a little bed for our two little ones in the back and they would sleep all the way there. It was always funny to wake them up outside my Mum & Dad's and see the look of "Where are we?" on their little faces. It worked well for us for some time, but can you imagine it being allowed now? My son now lives in Lewisham with his family and does the reverse journey with his two little ones. He still remembers the Reliant days.
It's also a fact that all three of our grandchildren came home from hospital in one of my Reliant's after they had been born, so they were real paternal cars (or is that 'motor-ternal'?). No baby seats or such to be concerned about, just cradled in their mothers arms.
Still warm and muggy here, clouding a bit but no sign of rain so far. Our lawn is crying out, "Feed me, feed me now!".

It's here right now Frank.Plus I think I can hear a bit of thunder.I too dashed out and got the washing in and travel rug off the lawn where Jess has been sunning herself all afternoon.
Not doing anything for our anniversary today, but I have some lovely Lamb Steaks which we will have with tray roasted new potatoes courgettes red onion peppers and mushrooms. I'm quite pleased we aren't going out as I have had a few visits to that dear 'white friend' :-S :-S James will be eating shortly. He is having a Turkey Escallop with the same potatoes and veg as us.I can see me getting fed up cooking 2 separate meals every night :-|.Winter would be easier as I could do casseroles and the like. But I mustn't grumble. He has a job and tat is the most important thing. I'm sorry for for your friend Frank.I think most of us will know how upsetting it is to have to have your beloved pet put to sleep :-(.I'm sure her new pup will keep her mind occupied and on the run :-D
David was it the Dentist that caused the blood blister? I bet it feels humongous :-S :-S
It feels so close and sticky here and very uncomfortable.I think it has stopped raining now.Don't think there was enough to do any good though.
Right I better dish up for James now.Tatty Bye

Hi do apologise about my last message going on about the Pakistani gentleman .I would not have sent the message about the staki paki had I known someone had complained. But Paki means country so paki is a pakistani countryman but will not even mention them again.
I did not know you had all been so nice about the complaint about me until I read the threads last night really late Liz it would have been nice if genes had told me instead of removing the thread then I could have done it myself but however cannot even remember what I put. Had the person mentioned it to me I would have apologised instead of going behind my back and reporting me. Thank you all who said they did not see it and those who said that I should have been told. I do not mind a good tellling off it would not be the first time but do like the right to defend myself. My problem is I cannot get the pages up to the end still and I go to the end of a page the latest messages pop up then it shoots to page one two etc and the latest messages are on there and then goes back to 1031. it drives me mad so I cannot see what people have typed recently. On a sleepless night I come down and have a read of all the threads and catch up. Sorry Shirl and Jane if I seemed off hand about the situation.

KIM I do hope you have a lovely birthday when it comes and enjoy opening all you cards from England I kept every single one of mine.
Today it rained about half an hour ago and now the sun is shining.
Frank you are right about the motor bikes I had two uncles killed on bikes many years ago I in my teens. Crash helmets were not compulary which was a great pity. When I was ten my uncle George gave me a ride to the library it lashed down with rain and he forgot I was on the back of it and did not go to the library but for a ride to see a friend. I sat clutching my arms round his waist getting wetter and wetter. I was scared to say anything. When we arrived he said Oh gosh a drowned rat. Come on better get you back home .My mum hit the roof when we got back. . I had to re read my five goes on holiday book.
Jane is it your aniversary have a nice evening and congratulations. How many years dare I ask mine was fifty last year where does the time go to.
Our lawn is crying out change me change me William it is dreadful.

Good old Chris, has put up with you all these years Jane, there must be a good reason (L O V E ) I'm sure you, like all of us, have had your ups and downs, but that SPECIAL THING keeps everything ticking along. Many congratulations. Did you say it was 36 years. Ous will be 34 on Sunday.
Few clouds still hanging around but no more rain. But had plenty of thunder. Ros said "He's moving his furniture around" an old childhood saying I expect !!!

Huh! Don't forget I have put up with him too lol.Yes we have had our ups and downs, mainly when there was a lot of stress from 'outside' eg Mum with Dementia and my best friend who I had to support when her OH did one and went off with his secretary. My friend who was a teacher went totally off the rails and sadly died .We had a few very tense years and I now know I was very difficult to live with .Mum and Diane took over and I think I neglected my own family(without realising). But we got through it thank goodness :-D.We muddle along together even though we are so different.Chris is a very quiet and really quite shy person until he gets to know people, and I think you can all guess that I am totally the opposite :-D :-D :-D :-D
Are you all flying your flags and bunting now?? :-D

Evening All,
It poured with rain here for about an hour ......spilling nicely down the bit of the waterfall I have done and giving the garden a nice soak. :-D I do wish the greenhouse had a louvred roof so I could let the rain in though.
<3 <3 <3Happy Anniversary Jane and Chris. <3 <3 <3 Hope you enjoy your evening. Your meal sounds just up my street!! :-D It must be strange for James with meals at the moment.....still you wouldn't want him banging pans around first thing in the morning getting his own dinner. I bet Chester thinks the new routine is weird too.
Mandy, I think I would need a bit of 'chill' time too! The little ones must have you on the go all the time. lol Have you all been in the spa in this lovely weather?
I think after a day with his parents yesterday OH was glad to get home! I asked him how he got on and he said 'a nightmare'!! lol. He asked his dad why the mower needed to be kept in the original box and he didn't know......so it has GONE now. So has all the stuff he kept piled on top of the mower that had to be moved every time it was used. His dad, who is supposed to be being careful with his back, insisted on holding the cable to the mower but knew OH is used to cable mowers. OH said it turned out to be more dangerous as his dad wasn't keeping the cable out of the way, he was more intent on watching the mower and OH and interfering in how he was doing it and that he would have been much quicker on his own!!
I enjoyed meeting the ladies at the other group last night. They were making 'blingy' rings while I did my bracelet which is coming along nicely. The teacher wants us to put some of our jewellery in an exhibition and sale they are holding at the college later this year. I think it is a good idea as we only need pay £1 and can put in as much as we want and price it ourselves. They sell the things but we get the money and the teacher will bring back what isn't sold. She also told me she had been in touch with the hedgehog lady who is getting feeling back down one side of her body so that is positive. She will be in hospital for at least another 6 weeks.
Finally, we have been hearing strange noises very early the last 2 mornings!! Yesterday it was a birdsong I have never heard before and very loud but I couldn't see the bird. This morning at about 7.00am I heard a noise just like someone trying to file a piece of wood, a rasping sound, and looked out of the window, but could see no-one. This carried on for about 15mins, so I got up and looked again and noticed a strange bird on the roof over the road. It was about the size of and a similar shape to a pheasant, but more upright with a longer neck and legs and was a browny colour. It flew off quite swiftly, not at all like a pheasant..........and the noise stopped!! I said to OH that there must have been an 'escape bid' at Tropical Birdland a few miles away!! A lot of the birds there fly free, so they do sometimes stray a bit!!

Jane,it's funny you should mention that. When she's in my mouth she's rough,if you know what I mean. She bangs all my teeth with her tool to find a bad one. When she does the clean up brushing back and front she's a challenge.
I wonder is it all possible that in her enthusiasm she did the damage I'm concerned about? I bit of a nip on the inside of the mouth could do that. There's no way I could have done it. (?)

David ,keep your tongue from mithering the blood blister even though it will be tempting.I'm sure it will soon go down. Ann you could make a bomb with all your jewellery :-D :-D.You have made some brilliant things. I have no idea what that bird could be :-S :-S.It wouldn't be a female pheasant would it .They look brown and leggy. I think I shall be off to beddy bo bo's soon.I feel pooped. Tomorrow afternoon I am going to the hairdressers to get shot of all my grey hair :-D :-D.I have put it off far too long.Chris is paying :-D :-D
Will say Night Night now .Sleep well everyone.I hope I will .I had a bad night last night with dreadful pain in my shoulder ,hip and knee. All down the right hand side.I was in tears at one stage :-( :-(.......I'm getting old :-| :-| ;-)

Morning everyone,
Rain overnight, but some sun today. Everything drying in the garage.
Jane a belated Happy Anniversary for yesterday, my ditsy brain did not pick up on that. Talking of hairdressers mine came the other day and now I've got a chocolate brown colour - must have been dark in the house when she was working on me :-S Doesn't suit me AT ALL.
Frank so very sad for your neighbour to have her Lab put down. Terrible when the back legs go, as happened with my Border Collie. Heartbreaking to watch them struggle. Yes, the puppy will bring some joy and focus for her.
Sheila I will enjoy opening all my cards and I keep them too. I was looking at when I started on this thread and it was on 13/5/11 page 536, so you've been stuck with me for just over a year.
Take care, enjoy your day when you all wake and will try to BBL. 4.07 pm EST

Morning Everyone,
Rain here today, but very muggy, yesterday the builders could not get started as the foundation bricks were late in arriving, and today the rain has stopped work , keeping fingers crossed they can get on with it tomorrow
My cold has gone thankgoodness, still blowing nose a little, my tension headache is still here. though taking pain killers every 4 hours is helping me to cope with it going to give it another week then I am going to make an appointment to see to see the doctor. don't want to take any other medication as I always end up being a zombie.
Jane hope all goes well at the hairdresses, daughter no 2 had her hair coloured just over a week ago and we ended up taking her up to A&E as she developed this awful rash at the back of her neck, doctor said it was dermatitis, so that has put end to her dying her hair.
must go now and get on with some ironing .

Morning All,##Very muggy here, and looks like we might get some showers.
We are off to Tesc#s this morning to have my glass's adjusted, stop them slipping down my nose.
Ros has the big case down, and has started to put things in for next week. Plenty of shorts and T shirts for me, a couple of long sleve shirts, in case I need them a few pairs of trousers, socks, underpants, sandals, and shoes. Thats taken up one corner, !!!! The rest will be for her ladyship. My ear is beginning to clear since I have been sniffing SINE# Hope it's clear by the weekend.
Ros is ready to go out, so I had better get a shirt on, socks ans shoes. Then we will be off.

DIL's washing machine packed up yesterday , she nipped into Hugh*s this morning , picked out another one , son and hubby collected it and son plumbed in ,they took the old one to the tip ,all done in an hour !! it's surprising how the washing piles up with little ones ,when i went for coffee she had the first load in !!
I want to get a couple of hanging baskets planted up before we have any more rain ,then get some ironing done too.
