Afternoon all,

What a day yesterday, Went back to Tesc# to order my glass's after my eye test on Monday. Remembered to tell them about the prismns, I have got in these specs. They are going to incoperate them into the new one.

Had a bit of luck. Tesc# are doing DOUBLE vouchers on SPECS now. Also two for one. I got my new specs, Frames £125.00 Variofocal in both pairs and grey tints in the main pair. All for £43.00. plus Ros's vouchers. They did the best eye test I have ever had.

We went onto get a new tyre fitted to the car, only to find they were out of stock.!!! So came home without it. They will call me when they get stock.

Mel, I am still waiting for my peas to show, and my beans. Will go and have a look later.

Off for a shower and shave.

I'm not surprised things are taking longer in the garden with all the cold weather we've had for May.

I needed a box of tissues too Jane watching DIY SOS what a lovely man and so articulate, and three beautiful daughters. Shall need the rest of the tissues tonight for Long Lost Families must be going soft in my old age ..... :-)

More bugs going around hope everyone is okay.

Still got a lot of planting to do, tomorrow is looking quite good will try and get in the garden then.

Pat you are in the right job to find the bargains. A bit like me last year doing a boot sale and leaving son to carry on while I went and spent all the money we'd made ...... :-D

Evening Boys and Girls
I am now Billy no Mates.Janice has gone .We have had a great few days together.I think we should do it more often :-DI think it did her good to get away from home as she and Larry have been together 24/7 since January and it was doing her head in lol.She said that she slept so well here as she wasn't worried about Larry knocking her knee in the night.
I have got Meg (neighbours dog) for an hour or so as the Grandson has gone out for a while. He is living there as his Mother won't have him and there is nowhere else for him to go.It is a very long story so I won't bore you all ,but is is so sad.

Poor Shirl ,sorry your back is still playing up :-S :-S.I think all our dicky tums seem to have cleared now.Just one of these few hour bugs I reckon.
And now Mandy's OH has got it :-S :-S

Frank you did blooming well with the vouchers and your specs :-D :-D

Pat it sounds as though you are getting some really good bargains since you have been working at the Charity Shop.I have a friend who buys most of her clothes in those shops. It is amazing what she has bought.Beautiful things.

I feel as though I have been neglecting you all over the last week but it seemed rude to keep going on the pooter when Janice was here.

Ann you must be nearly ready for the off now :-D :-D.I will keep everything crossed for you weather wise. You will just have to take every kind of wear with you .But whatever kind of weather you get I'm sure you will both have a great time.

I have just realised it is getting towards 6.30!!!!Where has today gone????
I know I spent part of it at the hairdressers. That was lovley :-D :-D

I was supposed to have had a call from (Dubai) Rachel this morning to say they had arrived in the UK ,but so far I have heard nothing :-|.Oh well no doubt I will hear something at some point .I get rather exasperated with all their shinanigans.

I just see on the news that Donna Summers has died.I used to love her ,but haven't heard of her in a long time.
Now I must go and start getting some food on the go.

Evening All,

Your poor hubby Mandy. I hope he has started to feel a bit better. I would be spraying everywhere and keeping away too!!! :-S I always say 'how can I look after you if I get it'. :-S

Pat, you are finding some good things at your charity shop. It must be great seeing what people have brought in.

Maureen!! Fancy you skiving off at the boot sale and spending the profits!! lol OH doesn't mind doing boot sales, he's very good at selling his books. I'm sure the main attraction is the super bacon butties they do though.

Mel, my toms in the greenhouse look a bit sick, that bluey grey tinge they have when they are too cold. There is no fresh green growth......they need more warmth I think. The runners I put in pots in the greenhouse on Monday have already started to shoot and push the soil up. The clematis is growing quite well, but the hardy fuschias in the garden have little more than buds at the moment.

Today hasn't gone to plan as I've been out all day till now so haven't done any of the house jobs yet. We had brekkie at the garden centre and were tipped off they will be doing the afternoon tea offer next. That was brilliant last time (2 years ago). Delicious fresh made sarnies with lots of choice, then 2 scones each with jam and cream and a pot of tea. Look out for it if you are garden club members. Then I had my hair done which took the longest ever, nearly 2 and a half hours. OH had taken the car in and found out they needed it till 4.30pm so he needed me to pick him up and I was sitting still with foils in my hair at the hairdressers!!! He ended up taking a brisk (uphill!) walk to Mor*isons and had to wait in their cafe for me. When I eventually got there we did some shopping and then I dropped him at home while I did a couple of errands. Then it was back to the garage for his car and he has gone straight from there to a meeting. I came back but called in B*S on the way as they had a 30% off offer just for today. Bought 2 thin tops to take away with me (a bit optimistic aren't I?) Phew, now I don't feel like getting the hoover out so will pack a few more bits instead!! :-S :-S I have a lot to do tomorrow after going to beading.

Better nip and get the iron out now.........

Annx

Annx Report 17 May 2012 18:49

Well that is good, even if yucky Fiona, your headaches should ihopefully improve as they clear. I hope you are pampering yourself a bit......good that you are sleeping better.

Jane I bet it does seem a bit quiet for you now.......mind when Ethan arrives, that will change I think.

Frank, it is great you got such a bargain with your specs as they are so expensive. I remember when I first had to start wearing them at about age 50 I was really shocked at the cost and then that I needed a new prescription after only 2-3 years!!! :-0 :-0 I think most younger folk (who don't usually wear specs) would be surprised what it costs us OLDER folk. lol

Sorry to hear your back is still bad Shirl. It must be getting you down by now. Have you tried all the usual things like heat on it or a warm bath to ease it?

Where's that iron now.....some pressing to do......

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 17 May 2012 18:53

Well hubby is feeling a little better ,he's asked when he can have some thing to eat !! son just rung to see how he is and he told him .....i feel better but your mother won't let me have any thing to eat :-S :-S :-D

Ann, i ,lost my climbing Fuschia, i looked at it and the stalks all dead ,i cut it right down just hoping there might be a little green bit ,but no it's all brown,i will have to see if i can get another one.

I did plant out today some Fuschia's that i bought in L*dl's 6 plants for £3-99 ,i planted then in the wall planters and i had to line the planters with a little plastic ,the birds had had a field day pulling the liners about for their nests !!! i noticed the other day a black bird with it's beak full!!

I keep thinking today is Friday !!

Have been busy again today. Did a load of ironing this morning and cleaned the bathroom. Then in the afternoon I swept the whole front of the bungalow road. With the flipping digger going back and fourth it takes all the mud with it on the tracks and it has been caked on the road plus chicken exhaust too from the bantams.

Mandy I do hope Colin is better now and has stopped being sick.
I am always like that when some one is sick, keep washing my hands and using the anti bac hand wash. Same when I am cooking chicken. Wash everything like mad. Still hope he is better tomorrow and it is only one of the 24 hour bug things.

Don't think I shall be moving very quickly tomorrow as my back is stiffening up as I sit here. Thought I may have overdone it a bit as sweeping always tells on the back.

Jane your going to miss Janice now she has gone home. I hope she can sleep ok tonight being back home with Larry.

Chicken casserole in the oven and smelling nice at the moment. May do him rice and I will have mash I think.

Sheila Report 17 May 2012 19:49

Hi hello I have had some problems with the circulation in my legs I have not been able to sit had to lie down horrible. I have read four books this week.

Beryl came round wearing something that looked like a shroud I asked her was she planning to depart to the after life. Beryl told me it is my art smock I am having art lessons. I said what art are you doing and excuse me but she said painting naughty bits. Where does she come from.

I have not seen anyone all week so far only Beryl. Beryls been three times in two days and always sits on the bed I say watch my feet and she manages to sit straight on top of them.I have heard every rude joke going
and all about how Donnie lies on the floor and slides himself into his Jeans .It seems she mixed a face pack up to put on her face and Donnie dropped some red ink in it then spread it all over Beryls face. It seems she sat with a huge purple towel on her head like a turbon and her face dried bright pink when she looked through the bathroom mirror when going to wash the mask off she screamed Oh god my face is bright pink Donnie made a hasty retreat out of the front door and headed for the pub.
I laughed so much and she said Ok thats enough it was not that funny.
thats another thing I hate about Beryl she puts a time limit on how long you can laugh.

Beryl did some chips for my lunch they were like you get at the Greasy
Spoon cafe all soggy and dripping in oil. I was going to moan but thought well she tried bless her .Did not need to worry she said can I have a chip
I did cook them she then went on to eat all of them one by one but did manage to say dont you like your chips after I cooked them. I was just about to say yes to please her and she said mind you I think I eat them all. I My poor ho had only just got in and I was asking him to take Beryl home. I adore her but three days of her ways exhausts me.

My ho makes the bed for me and his idea of bed making is to lift up the quilt shake it and plonk it on top of me. I decided to make a necklace with glass beads was doing well until hubbie said you need the bed doing lifted up the quilt gave it a huge shake and my beads went everywhere
all over the floor up in the air he thought he had got them all up until bedtime and he trod on one haha A few choice words were uttered.

Well I will come on when my leg does not feel like it is falling off I can only sit for a while I miss driving and going out. I do hope your all ok
all the best to you all.

I have been reading a book called find your grannies sisters it is about a lady in edwardian days who is looking for her four elder sisters all who have been sent to work in a old laundry in Scotland its really sad.

Fiona ,I'm sure once those decongestants clear all the 'Muck ' your headaches will improve.Touch wood I don't have trouble with Sinus but know from others how painful it can be.

Mel you asked me how Fitz is doing.I think he is doing alright although he does get days when he feels a bit 'off'.Yes he is driving again and I must say he is driving with far more care than usual lol.I do have to remind him to put his seat belt on though :-S

Ann do you take a book to read at the Hairdressers? That is heck of a long time .I have never had foils. There was a chap there this afternoon having them.It was sooo busy there today .I did think that the music playing was a bit too loud (all stuff I like ) but it was a bit too OTT. with that and the noise of the hairdryers you couldn't hear yourself speak .

Mandy just keep him on dry toast or biscuits. You don't need any Technicoloured yawns lol

When I took Meg (the dog) back I noticed lots of dog poops on the lawn. The Grandson is obviously not picking up!!!!.I think I might take him some doggie poo bags tomorrow and suggest his does a little collection .I don't think his Grandparents will want to come home faced with all that.
I had a little look around when I took Meg back and Luke is managing to keep the place reasonably clean and tidy.He is a good lad ,but I think will just give him a liitle nudge to make sure everything is ship shake for when his Nan and Pops get home on Sunday. Then they will have no worries about leaving him there on his own again.

Just off to dish up grub now

Morning Jane and All and Evening Kim if you look in.

Dull again here today but dry. I hav'nt been up long!!!!!!!!!! It must have been all that broom work I did yesterday. I really need to hoover today and do some dusting as it seems to be getting quite thick now after spending so much time in the garden and up the tunnel. I never seem to do it properly or all at once. One room here and one room there. When I think back to when I was young I used to go through the whoole bunglaow on a Friday morning and then go shopping in the afternoon. Those days are certainly gone. Perhaps it is just that I don't want to do it now. Any of it!""!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just want to do the things I want to do.

Does that make sense to you?

Ann will be at her class this morning I think. I wonder what she will make today??

Frank

Frank Report 18 May 2012 11:02

Morning all,

Ros is off with a woman down the road, who wants Ros to make her a necklace for her daughters wedding. They have gone to a bead shop down the other side of Towcester.

I am going to do the lawns when I come off here. Before it starts to rain.

"RINGO" a chap across the road, came over Monday and took the rest of the big tree down. He's left enought (ABOUT 7 foot) for Ros to put the "POUCHES" She thinks they will be better than baskets, and less chance of being stolen, by some stallywag. While he was cutting a big part of the middle of the trunk, he pushed it off the gtree, and it fell on his ladder and bent it !!!! I offered to buy him a new ladder, but he wouldn't hear of it, said he can soon replace it !!!

Trust you are all getting over your aches and pains, and the screaming habdabs.

While in Tesc#'s yesterday, we decided to treat ourselves to TWO OLIVE TREES. to go in the front gargen beside to door. They must be 7/8ft high. and what a job getting them in the car. The tubs we have outside at the moment will be too small for the trees, so Ros will buy two more next time she's at the garden centre (MORE EXPENCE) We said they would be for our anniversary, but I have already bought her a large bottle of "CHANCE" purfume.

See you alol later.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 May 2012 11:20

Ooooooo Frank that is nice, two olive trees. I used to put mine in the greenhouse int he winter but forgot the other year and it died.
