Oh what a beautiful afternoon, Sunshine all the way. Tony next door is sitting on the door step getting the sun.
Ros's lunch party went off well, had a lot of people who came to see the Tapestry's, and three of the women gave a talk on the history of the ages from Roman times to modern day, all depicted on the tapestry's
. The lunch consisted of various meats, salads, colslaw, Quiches. Pastries and cakes, Tea and coffee. £10.00 per head. Ros said everyone enjoyed it, and was happy with the price and all the information they had got to go home with.
Lamb Shanks, new potato's, fresh peas, carrots and sprouting broccoli for dinner tonight.
Kim it might do your daughter the world of good, to stand on her own feet, and move out, and give you a break from all the agro. I suppose I was lucky I had no trouble with my two or Ros's boys, but there again I ruled with an IRON FIST. they didn't and wouldn't push their luck, They knew how far to go. :-0 :-0 :-0
Jane if this weather continues you could put up your "TENT" and feed them in the garden (can't think of the right name) :-| :-|
Has anyone been watching BGT. Ros has got feed up with it being on every night, and dosen't watch it now.!!!! Not that I am bothered, I can come on the computer or go down the PUB. The later of which I might do tonight.

I remember that Jane.No problem with the dress, it arrived yesterday and fits fine, now I've got to sort out my hair :-|
I have watched BGT Frank only because there was nothing else on anyway, most of it is a load of rubbish but there were one or two very talented people on there.
That's really good news for James, will boost his confidence no end. Good old mum giving up your car. Has his got breakdown cover, at least then you know you can get help.
My word you do eat well Frank, it's just an avocado salad for me tonight

Fiona ,how is that headache? I hope it has eased off now.
Mandy .I wonder where Alba is from....Albania??Out Hygienist I think is Polish and I have no idea how to pronounce her name lol.
Janice has had a grueling time with the Physio today. She said she managed to do a whole cycle backwards on the excercise bike, but can't do a whole forward one.She also had to run on the spot on a mini trampoline.I think the physio is trying to get Janices fitness back as she had really had no exercise since January. She said her tongue was nearly down to her knees lol on the trampoline. She is really looking forward to having a few days here.I can't wait just to have a bit of sisterly time :-D :-D.We get on so well even though we are so different. At least we don't fight like cat and dog like we did as children I will try and get her to say Hi to you all. :-D :-D

Yes Maureen ,he has RAC breakdown(thank goodness) guess who pays for that???? .I know that if needs be Fitz will pick me up anytime if he is going shopping,so I won't be really stuck.
Frank do you mean the Gazebo? It's up :-D.I need to clean off the cushions on the chairs as the birds have somehow managed to poop down the backs of them :-S How dare they :-S :-S
I watch BGT......Frank did you know the girl with the dog Pudsey lives in Wellingborough.I missed a lot of it last night.Sounds like a very successful day for Ros and the others. I think James is secretly very chuffed that he has got a job.I know he will still be looking for something more suited to his degree. But at least he will now have something to get up for and get that brain of his ticking over .It's been a long time in coming. He said the first thing he wants to buy is a decent pair of shoes lol
It is a beautiful sunny evening, all the clouds have blown away.I do feel sorry though for Hannah and John in Edinburgh.Rain ,Rain and a bit more Rain :-S :-S

That's brilliant news Jane :-D well done James so pleased for you ,you should feel chuffed . I hope i can understand this Alba if she is foreign ,before we had Ruby there was a Spanish lady ,i had a job to understand her !! had to get her to repeat things !!
Maureen what colour is the new outfit ? when you buy accessories will they go with both outfits ? i had two outfits for sons wedding ,had another to change into for the evening and two pairs of shoes ,because the day time shoes had a highish heel i bought a lower heeled pair but i didn't wear them in the end .
I've been watching BGT , i must admit some of it is rubbish !! but i still watch :-D
I think i will be stiff as a board tomorrow , i did some more weeding this afternoon ,the weeds were coming through some of the brick weave so i had a go at them too, and what did hubby say when he came in .....you'll suffer tomorrow ....why did you do all that in one day ......i carn't win , i just thought it would save him the job !!!!

Frank, you are so right, the girls have come up trumps. The only thing is sometimes, your solve one thing and it brings another along with it. Have had some good help and it's taking me all my time to catch up now.
The funeral went as these things do on Wednesday. Sadness and tears as we said goodbye to Nanny Dot. But then you meet people you haven't seen in ages, so it's as if the departing one is saying "Hey, don't forget to keep in touch with one another - that way you'll always remember me".
Have spent the day with duaghter Dorothy OH David and they are looking after the two grandchildren for the weekend. So we have had a great time with little Ralph and his sister Maggie. The back of my legs ache with sitting on the floor, being climbed on and all sorts of other antics. When little Maggie sits on my lap I'm reminded how her Mummy sat on my lap when she was Maggie's age, all those years ago. It's like being on a time-trip.
Anyway, enough waffle, back to sort out these ancestors of mine. Catch up with you over the weekend.
And by the way - thanks girls . . . .

Evening All,
It's all been happening at Kettering then. Well done James! Already having a job is a good start to getting the next one and he will be used to a 'work' routine. He can gain a few other skills and experience for his CV until something more suitable turns up......money in his pocket in the meantime. I bet he is looking forward to new shoes!! :-) The numbers are sounding more manageable now Jane. I was thinking last night what I would cook for that many and came up with the same as what you are doing! Less stress and tastes yummy. It sounds like Janice is gradually improving now and getting fitter and stronger will help.
Well, the neighbour left the dog outside on his own all day today, so after a few hours barking while OH was trying to work I think we were wishing he would 'escape'!! I wouldn't wish 'mange' on him though. It seems to have started happening more often lately which is a nuisance to say the least as he just barks all the time, not just when he hears a sound, although he turns up the volume then.
Oh Kim, what a problem. Your daughter doesn't realise how lucky she is. I know things are different now, but at her age my father was so strict. I wasn't allowed boyfriends, had to be home by 9.00pm and couldn't go out 2 nights on the trot or I was 'gadding about'. Dad's moods meant he wouldn't speak to anyone for weeks at times and the atmosphere would be awful. Like Jane says, she may be worried or angry at how things have turned out. I can remember it being a 'fragile' time being her age and putting on a hard front. All the stress isn't good for you at all though. It must be so difficult as she probably knows she wears you down.
Maureen the coast dress was meant to be I think if you found it for sale. It is nice to have a choice and as you will need one for your son's wedding, ideal to get it now while you have found one you like. It sound like the village hall will be 'transformed'!
Glad things went as well as they could have done at a funeral William. I just love that idea of the deceased bringing people together again. I saw FIL today and he was very interested in the billets in Bentley Woods!! It set him off and he was telling us about the old airfield that was at the MIRA test ground was a field with no concrete runways. He said the Tiger Moths would take off from there and that someone would have to lean out of the plane to hold the tail down when they took off and that when they were flying towards the target, the pilot couldn't see out of the front and had to be guided. I asked him if he had slept in Nissen Huts in wartime and he said 'no, we slept in tents!!' I think he said they were the Second Tactical Airforce and were completely mobile. They even had mobile aeroplane hangars that could be used for repairs and be taken down in minutes. He always gets animated when he talks of those times. It must have been very exciting as well as dangerous.
Ros sounds like she enjoyed herself......it must be good to be taking part in making things like the tapestries that will be there for many years.
That's typical Mandy, can't win like you say!! I hope he said it looked nice and I hope your back isn't too bad tomorrow!
The little Hedgehog is on it's way to the lady. The teacher this morning thought the lady would absolutely love it too so I was really glad I thought to do a little something personal for her. It must be devastating to be in her situation and the teacher said she will be worrying about her Hedgehogs and being able to fund raise for them. We should have more news next week, but it won't be easy for her husband to visit either when they move her to Sheffield.

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Shirl you look after that back and I hope it improves soon. Nothing worse as you don't realise how the muscles move when you do little things like raise your arm or scratch your nose!! :-S :-S :-S
Ann I am sure the hedgehog lady will love your card. He had such a cheeky little face.
Good luck to James in his new job, Jane. I bet you are so glad he has got something at last and he will be looking forward to those new shoes. At least he will now have something to start his CV with.
William you are very welcome to the info we found for you so don't hesitate to ask again. Always willing to do look up if we can find anything all the better.
Frank what good news that Ros and friends raised a nice lot of money with the dinner they laid on.
Oh has layed the bottom of the new pond this morning and I have to go up the shop and try and get in touch with our friend as we have a conformation to ring for tomorrow and I need his services as a ringer.
Maureen it must have been meant for you to have that dress also as you would never have seen it if you had'nt popped into Ebay. Hope you have a lovely day for the wedding and find something nice to go with your new dress.

Have had a good old rummage around the boot sale this morning and will get in the garden soon, at least to mow the lawn. Better not overdo it like you Shirl. hope the back is feeling better.
The new dress colour is porcini, a posh way of saying mushroom :-D I quite like the shoes in at the moment called nude that should go with both dresses and maybe a cream jacket. Tried some shoes on in Ne*t the heels were so high, felt like I was on stilts, I'd probably end up on the floor with those on especially after a few glasses of wine ;-)
I couldn't agree more about funerals bringing families together William, My cousin, who I hadn't seen in years came over from Canada when my aunt (his mum) died several years ago. We have e.mailed regularly since, my girls have been out to stay with him and we meet up whenever he is here.
Jane hope you are having a great weekend with Janice, I never wanted a sister when I was younger but now I'm older think it would have been nice but my eldest daughter is more like a sister and best friend she is nearer my age than her half brother and sisters.
We are lucky to have Mandy, Ann and Mel on here they usually find ancestors when you hit a brick wall. Mel especially helped a lot with my tree. Keep saying I will start 'digging' them up again but there always seems to be something else needs doing.

Afternoon everyone,
Nice and sunny here after a wet start to the day ,the wind is a bit on the keen side though,i had the back door open for a while but had to close it as i got quite chilly.
Nothing exciting happening here today ,Chinese for us later so no cooking for me tonight .
Ann, you'll have to throw the dog a bone over the fence !! might keep him occupied for a while so he stops barking .
How do you lose your post Frank ? do you press the wrong button ?
I lose mine some times when the lap top does that configurating up dates thingy ,i do wish it would warn you its going to do it :-S
Shirl hope the backs a little easier today ,i thought mine would be like a board after the gardening but its ok , just the tops of my arms a bit stiff where i used the little scrubber thingy to clean the brick weave .
Fiona, hope your headache is better today .
I expect Jane's beavering away getting ready for tomorrow :-D
Time for a cuppa . BBL

Hello everyone. Yes Mandy ...beavering away is just what I have been doing . lol.Got the Normandy Pork Casserole done.I need to cool it down and find some room in the fridge for it until the morning when I do the thickening up . I just need to dust the lounge now and then everything else can go to H*ll.I don't want to look like a show home, but want to look like a mucky mare lolol Chris has done the lawn and everything is looking nice out there.(can't say the same for the front garden though).
When Chris took Chester out this morning he was met by next doors Alsatian dog out on the pavement. He said Chester was shaking in his boots :-S :-S They need to make sure that the dog CANNOT get out .I don't think he is nasty ,but is a huge dog now and does look pretty scary .As most of you know I am never happy with the way they look after their pets!!!!Lackadaisical is the word that comes to mind. :-| :-| I'll be back again soon
