Hi all,

Can't watch the those races and beautiful horses dying. We lost a champion the other day and she was just given sedation to be transported to Sydney for a Group 1 race. She reacted and died that day only a 4 year old. What a terrible loss for the owners and connections. :-(

Sheila I hope your leg responds quickly to the antibiotics and I'm very happy for you that Jess is coming home for your birthday. The best present you could have and a week to enjoy it.

It has been a dull day here with bursts of sun and then cloud.

Ann hope your back is easier today and same for you Shirl with those pains in your head.

Sunny at the moment here but I don't know what they forcast for today. It was blimmin cold here yesteray.

I have hurt my arm at the top again. I don't know how I do it but did do some digging yesterday. The thing is they are raised beds in the tunnel and we don't stand on them and you can just turn the earth very easily.

I have the grand prix on the telly behind me. It was on when I got up and oh was in his study watching it. He had it on in both rooms!!

Sheila so sorry to hear you have been unwell with your leg. But what a nice pressy to have Jess home for a week for you r birthday. I have three girls with the same birthday, you my aunt Joy (mums sister) and my best friend from Suffolk, oh and my cousin on the 23rd, Joys daughter.

Have to go and feed the robin as oh says he is waitng for me on the gate. BBL

Roast Pork for Dinner today (sorry Regina).I do love meat ,but hate the way some animals are kept ,transported and killed etc.So I obviously do have double standards :-|.Not that I am proud of that ,but that's me .

Just had a little Hail shower here.Cold wind blowing too.I think I may get that fire lit later.
Chris is mowing the lawn and doing a bit of strimming(not at the same time lol)He usually ends up breaking the strimmer :-|

I bet Frank has enjoyed his little Breakaway and hope he has a safe journey home.I wonder how soon his pinney will be back on

Was at church this morning, going to get on with some painting this afternoon,

Had a really tiring afternoon with Sofia on Friday,ended up with a rotten headache so didn't get much sleep Friday night, spent most of Saturday just relaxing nodding off now and again in the chair, so didn't feel much like chatting on here.

Better get out of these good trousers and into my old painting jeanss Kettle on first I think.

Afternoon everyone,

We've had hail this morning , the suns shining now but the wind is making it feel really chilly out there .
Been to the garden centre and all we bought was some thick gardening gloves for hubby .
We stopped and had a coffee and cheese scone in the little cafe ,lots of people were having the roast dinners and they did look good !!

On the way home hubby said he felt right out of place in there ....i said why ? he said they were all pensioners in there !!! i told him in six months time that's what you will be :-D :-D :-D LOL

DIL's father is still in hospital, they don't seem to be doing any thing for him, one doctor said he needs this scan and then another doctor said no, it can be sorted out another way with out a scan, i think he's getting really fed up now and just wants to come home .

Black as your hat out side now ,looks like it going to tip down .

I haven't had a Cheese Scone in years.You can't put jam and clotted cream on them lol ;-)
No wonder the poor man is getting fed up in hospital Mandy.They obviously don't want to let him go yet though.

The fire is blazing away now .I went out around the corner of the house to get more logs in and the wind nearly whipped my ears off :-S.Chris has finished in the garden now for the day and is pooped.The Lawn looks a lot better now it has had a few cuts.
Pork cooked ,potatoes in ,Aunt Bess*** Honey roast parsnips in.All smelling good :-D The veg are sprouts and carrots.I can't be ars** to do any more.I think that is enough.

Yes, some of those garden centre lunches look and can be delicious Mandy. I could just fancy a cheese scone now......very tasty!! I see our local carvery, 5 minutes away is doing takeaway carveries now. That will be great to nip and pick your own on a hot day and enjoy outside at home.

Your DIL's father must be a bit fed up with all this dillydallying! They need to make their minds up don't they.

The back was not great this morning, but with a hot shower on it and one of the patches is a bit easier now thanks. I have decided to plant up the raised beds tomorrow as they are waist high on me and I won't have to bend. I can repot a couple of houseplants on them too. The other bending garden jobs will have to wait a bit! ;-)

That is strange Pat! Somehow or another they seem to have signed you up to 'alerts'!! A flippin nuisance every time someone posts though.

Those little Robins are loving their 'waitress' service aren't they Mel. lol It must save them a lot of work with hungry mouths to feed.

It's quite chilly here now, might need a bit of heat soon.

We could do with a nice open fire here ,got the heating on as its really chilly!!

Your poor back Ann, be careful tomorrow planting that bed up i found standing upright was as bad as bending ,when i tried to walk after standing i was like a board !!! had a job to get my legs going :-S :-S

Yes you could be right Mandy! I think I will do short stints.....small sits and stands are the order of the day!! lol When we went out earlier and I got out of the car I had to 'freeze' in position for a bit before I trusted anything to work!! lol. Been up the tunnel and we have had the Cider and Pasty walk through the garden today.

Put in most of the tom plants but got back ache like Ann so came sown and had a hot cross bun and cuppa. Oh has dug a big hole in the lawn a little way away from the big pond. This one is going to have a shelf all around that I can put marginals on. The kio eat the plants in the big pond.He can't do anymore digging at the mo as he ran out of deisel!!

Regina I am like Jane, double standards!! I worked with animals all my lifein one way or another and have had many kinds of pets over the years. I do admit to eating meat though. I have ex batt hens and bantams now. Had a pet shop in years gone by.

Mandy how's the conservatory coming along?

Pat I had that trouble and wondered what it was all about at first. I did what Ann said and don't get them now.

I miss Frank popping in. I do hope he enjoyed himself and of course Ros too.

You might have to wait a while for the photo Ann as it keeps telling me i'am running sort of disc space !! will have to wait for son to sort it for me , i don't know how to !!
I have two balls of wool over ....now what shall i do with them, i thought i might knit a little cardi ,if DIL doesn't use it the girls can use it for their dollies !!

Now have visions of OH carrying you out of the cinema with your knees bent as if you are the shape of the seat LOL sorry i shouldn't be laughing i know how painful a bad back can be !!

Mel , most of the walls have been sanded ,just a little bit under the window to do , then he has to put a light wash over the ceiling and then two coats of emulsion , but he's at work all the week and doesn't feel like doing much after a days work, so it will be the weekend before any thing else gets done .

I hope Frank and Ros have had a nice long week end , i thought it was tomorrow when they get home !!
