A very Happy Birthday to you Anne; Hope you're having a nice day. Have had a very busy morning; old lady over the road is coming 'home' from hospital, and her neighbour asked if I would help to get the bungelow ready for her!!! Don't want to get too involved, but hadn't the heart to say 'No'!! No sign of son and wife, perhaps they'll turn up when she re-appears! Maybe - Maybe not!!! After that we went to South Molton, Bank, and shopping"managed to get Millie a finger toothbrush, so SHOULD be able to clean her back teeth?!!! I haven't dried washing outside for weeks now, Around the Rayburn is beginning to look like a Chinese Laundry, but is IS efficient! Another wet and windy day here, gets a bit depressing!

Fiona, glad it all went well for you this morning and that dad is now at rest with your mum .

Sofia will keep you busy now ,i suppose she is now starting to chat a little is she ? Katie has now started to shake her head from side to side when you say no to her and she waves bye bye .
DIL has taken her to the doctors again as she is so chesty, the doctor has given her some medicine and if that doesn't help then they'll have another look at her , they are still wondering if she has a touch of Asthma ,which i hope she doesn't poor little girl.

When we went shopping Chelsea had some sweets in the back of the car ,the little monkey dropped all the sweet papers on the floor ,DIL said WHY have you dropped them all over the floor ......she said well i didn't know where to put them mummy and nanny hasn't got a bin in here !!!

Frank, you have had a good sort out !! all those pants !! do you still have jumble sales your way ? we never seem to have them here now ,i suppose the Charity shops have taken the place of them .

Still dull here ,no sign of any sun ,but not at all cold ,i've had all the bedroom windows open to let some air in .

Good Afternoon everyone

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes and to think I did not know you at all just a few days ago. Hubby feeling much better so we have been to Redcar by the sea and walked along the esplanade. The temperature in the car was 11degrees but there was a cool breeze. Still we both enjoyed the fresh air.
I am sending you this message on my birthday present...a new D**l computer which is so much faster than the old one.
I have received lots of lovely cards and presents, most of which are food related, my friends know me well.
I do not have to cook tonight as hubby is in the kitchen!!!! I intend to spend the time playing with my new toy and enjoying a glass or two of Black Stump which is a rather nice shiraz. if you have not had it before then I can recommend it.
The sun is shining, the weather mild , so all is well with my world.

Fiona I am so glad you have now laid your dad to rest. Its good to know that both your parents are together.
*Mel* We once had 4 lovely hens but hubby swapped them for a water butt!!
Frank Glad I do not have to iron your underwear,
Speaking of which does anyone iron the undies??? My family think I'm mad because I iron everything and my mother did before me. I thought it the norm until I met Fiona, my D in L and she was horrified cause I ironed her knickers. Am I strange or something?
Must go and find the wine.

Jane

Jane Report 14 Jan 2011 15:58

Anne I hate to say it ,but I think you must be barmy lol.I don't iron pants or socks EVER .I would never be away from the ironing board.
It sounds like you are having a nice birthday.I think I may be a bit slow I don't know what a D***I computer .Is it one that is note book size?
I haven't heard of Black Stump. My OH likes a red.Is it widely available?

Fiona ,I'm pleased for you now everything is done and your Dad is with your Mum.Have you decided if you are going to go away for a break?

Mandy,I haven't actually had the windows open ,but I did leave the back door open for a while.

I'm not sure about cooking this meat all day.The smell is sending Chester doolally and he keeps drooling lol.He has got on my nerves for several hours by heavy breathing and making silly noises, then dashing into the kitchen to look at the cooker each time he thought I was going in there.

I wonder what Anne's OH is cooking for her tonight while she sits and enjoys her wine?I bet it will be delicious Anne.

Anne Report 14 Jan 2011 16:51

Have just been into the kitchen and left very quickly.
Last time hubby cooked he broke a tagine and exploded a pyrex casserole as he thought he could put it on the hob!!
Still bless him he does try.
Just had a Skype from Fiona and Hazel who are busy making biscuits which Hazel was trying to send through the computer.
I do wish they were nearer.
There is now a lovely smell coming from the kitchen, roll on tea.
Off to listen to my new John Barrowman CD

Well I won't be doing Brisket again.I will stick to doing a nice bit of topside in the oven. The Brisket is quite greasy and I cut a fair bit of fat off.James has had his .We haven't had ours yet.But my roast potatoes are cracking and my roast carrots, parsnips and courgettes.I just need to cook the runner beans and baby carrots now,and plenty of nice thick gravy.
Oh Well I tried lol

Jane Report 14 Jan 2011 18:47

Are they new David or second hand?I think I would be a bit wary with anything electrical. Are you planning on buying something?

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 14 Jan 2011 19:09

What a shame Jane ,has it cooked it nice and tender then ?
I think Brisket can be a bit greasy .

I got a packet of Schwartz Chicken Curry mix for the slow cooker, thought i might try that tomorrow ,there were other mixes too, they were new in Morris*n's

David , i'd be weary of those in case they don't work !!

Annx Report 14 Jan 2011 19:19

Well, we got the old tele off the wall and took the bracket piece off the back of it........only to find out the bolts were too small for the holes in the new tele!! I rang the shop we bought it from to see what diameter bolts it need and they did not know as their brackets are provided by someone else. OH went for a root in the garage......like looking for a needle in a haystack I thought........then came back with some the exact size!! We now have the new one on the wall and have set it up. Just need to get it tuned to S*y and connect the dvd player, then fight to get the cables back in the trunking!! Tomorrow we get to do it all again, as the tv we took down today is to replace another one on the wall in another room!!

Frank, that's a fair few pairs of pants!! A pair for every occasion and no danger of running out! lol OH still likes his hankies to clean his glasses with. They all have G in the corner.

I was disgusted yesterday when I read that some charity shop volunteers have their pick of the items brought in paying 10p each item and then sell the goods on market stalls!!

I used to iron nearly everything when I was first married, but soon stopped that! OH was used to having everything ironed, so I said it still could be.....if he did it! lol He does do all the ironing now and needless to say he does the minimum necessary!! lol

In the past firms like them have received bad publicity.
They have "plants" in the audience who get the genuine bargains.
The remainder get wholesale tat offered them.

Hello again

Shirl Good to meet you.
Have to say hubby surpassed himself and only one burnt pan. Managed to drink a bottle between us.
David I would be very careful buying a second hand computer. We now have four of the things in the house of various shapes and sizes and all are very important to hubbies ' work '
