Well as soon as OH got home he took me off to the cinema to see The King's Speech. lol It was absolutely packed to the gills in the foyer. (I think the 'Orange Wednesday' offer may have been the reason, so we came away and will go tomorrow at the earlier showing. I shall be able to think of Jane sitting watching it too now. lol

Meant to ask how the cough is today Mandy?

It is FIL's 90th birthday in a fortnight and they want to visit the museum at Bradford. I'm looking forward to it as the IMAX cinema is part of it and has the HUGEST curved screen that seems to wrap around you. It is a full size Imax screen over 16 metres high and 22 metres wide. It was the biggest in the country, but I don't know if it still is. We went a few years ago and saw the Grand Canyon in 3D. We both had to keep looking away at first it was so overwhelming. lol This time I see they are showing The International Space Station which I would love to see.....if I dare. Don't know if OH will!!

Could you let me have your Fish Pie recipe Anne.........it sounds nice and I like the sound of 'less fattening'!!

Gran always hugged me into her pinny when I fell down and cried when I was little.......it always smelled of onions. lol Her dress always smelled of Lavender or Eau de Cologne. (I still love Eau de Cologne)

I am going to sign off now as I am in a bit of a grumpy mood.Have upset Chris I think by having a grumble about something.I don't think us Mums are allowed to feel a bit moody sometimes. We are expected to be upbeat at all times!!!!.Well tonight I feel like a right old misery guts lol.

I have been on the phone to a girl (or should I say Woman!) who I was at school with right from the begining.

She said to me that I started a week or two after her as we started just after our 5th birthdays. Her birthday is 2nd Feb and mine the 14th Feb. I think she is right. do any of you lot remember that?? Nowadays the children just start all together in Sept or when the term starts.

Anne glad you enjoyed your fish pie. My OH loves fish but I only eat a few kinds of fish and NO shellfish at all. I do make him fish pie sometimes.

Last night he had his mussles all over a pile of pasta strips. I had Lasagnie.

11.01am.

Must go now for a coffee as I haven't had one yet.Thumbs still painful today.Yes Mel Ironing doesn't help lol.I won't do any today

Afternoon everyone,

Well everyone's off to the cinema ,hope you all enjoy the films .

Not cold today ,i've turned the heating off and i'am sitting here in short sleeved top !! what about that for January !!

Just had to tell you this .... one of our old pubs in the town has closed and there is a piece in the paper about it .
It was called the Cherry Tree and it dates back to 1822, it says the Inn was used by the town's Coroner to hold inquests during the 1900's it was also a meeting place for groups and market traders.
But the bit that caught my eye was it was run by the Tuck family across three generations between 1856 and 1943 .
The first was John Tuck who handed the business on to his son ...
Mahershalalhashbaz Tuck !!!!
Legend says a vicar refused John Tucks request for his son to be christened with the shortest name in the bible "Oz" so the new father insisted his heir be christened with the longeast name instead .
Mahershalalhashbaz went on to hold the licence for 23 years between 1869 and 1892 .
I've had a look and i carn't see him on the census ,so i wonder what he was called !!

We're off to sons for our tea tonight so no cooking for me today ,i think we're having Fish with a nice Cheese Pie .
