Morning /Evening All Yes William that Kyle email was so funny :-0
What a morning.Freezing fog and frozen snow and ice.I need to get some bread as I have been getting through the loaf by soaking it for the birds.I also need more seed and peanuts. The birds have been going crazy.Looking anywhere for food and water. They have been rooting around in the guttering and around the window frames. On the whole Coconut and remains of the last one there were about 5 or 6 long tailed tits, blue tits,a robin and the woodpecker !!!!! with a group of other little birds underneath waiting for bits that fell down.
Time for a bit of breakfast I think first. It should be porridge on a cold morning like this but I'll make do with a bit of toast and another mug of tea :-D
How terrible, this helicopter crash in London :-(

Morning All and Evening Kim,
What a terrible thing the helicopter crash is in London in Vauxhall Rd. It should never have been flying in those conditions.
Dry and bright here this morning and we have seen the stoat again but it was too quick to get a picture. We have also had Robby on the box of mealworms in oh's hand but by the time I got the camera he was gone.
Oh has put my new camera down the garden incase the stoat comes back through. The bantams tell us when it is around by hicking up a stink and making lots of noise.

Freezing good morning from me,
I had bacon sarnie and two buttered crumpets with two mugs of tea for breakfast. I missed my meat and veg last night.
I have feed and watered the birds this morning.
I had a visit this morning from "GREEN THUMB" to look at the lawns, there are due for their winter treatment. I said NO WAY they are frozen solid. See you when they thaw.!!!
Yes Jane,Terrible Helicopter crash in London this morning, Haven't heard of any deaths yet. But there must be some.
Ros didn't go out yesterday, so she went with Carolyn at 10.00 am this morning, will be back by lunchtime, as Carolyn has to pack this afternoon for their 6 weeks in Florida.
The trees in the garden look beautiful, all covered in frost. with all the birds flitting about looking for grubs, etc.
This weather isn't agreeing with my arthritis, Thumbs, shoulders, knees giving a lot of pain. This is when I could do with a bath, so I could have a good soak in hot water. Shower just doesn't do it for me. !!! Do they still have the PUBLIC BATHS ???
Mandy, I hope you are not too affected by this weather. Do you need to go far today ???
Keep warm everyone, and please take care if you have to go out.
SHOWER TIME.

Morning All,
Freezing here too and fog due later I see. Just on the night OH is off to Burton to have a meal with some of the ladies who worked for him! :-S Still, he is leaving mid afternoon to look around the shops beforehand and is usually home by 10.00pm so hopefully there won't be as much traffic at those times.
Frank, the nicer you are to me, the more HANDSOME you will be!!! ;-) ;-) I loved the Labrador with the little boy video too. In fact, thanks to everyone for the pics and videos. I love them all, but forget to say so.
Jane, you have a great variety of birds visiting......get that camera out. lol. I put some old bread and old mixed nuts out yesterday, but this morning it was just 2 Magpies having a feast.
OH is at a meeting at the Golf Club at Hinckley this morning, so I can get more done.
Yes, they think there were cars travelling on the road where the helicopter crashed. How awful. When a crane is on top of a building over 50 feet high, it really needs bright lights on it at night and in bad weather. Even then if it is misty I suppose it could be seen too late.
I'm tempted to go out with my camera, but better get jobs done first. Mandy, I hope you have a shovel inside!! It sounds as if you are going to get the worst of it. Poor Toby will have to be careful when he squats if it gets much deeper. ;-) :-0

Two dead they have confirmed and they think someone might have gone into the river so they have had the lifeboat out looking.
Just had my cereal and taken my pills so now it is time to do a bit of ironing.
William when young my son called our baby tropical fish Tiny Soff and if he wanted No 2s it was ubbles which originated from marbles which I used to say to him when he was constipated. Was good really because I used to take him with me to work at mums when we sold dresses and the customers did'nt know what he was talking about.

Same trouble here Fiona, it seems to be on a go slow. I put the heating on this morning when I got up, but I expect it is even colder where you are. It is set to be on half an hour then off half an hour etc at the moment, but feels a bit hot now!
I just checked the bird food and every nut had gone! Topped up the bread and the seed mix, but there don't seem to be any small birds around that I can see.

OH is just back from the meeting at the golf club. He said it was minus 5 in the car on the way and that the room was freezing with one wall all glass! They all kept their coats and scarves on and were still frozen.

Ros is back, and settled down to a bowl of stew. I can't eat a thing yet, still full from breakfast.
Ann, I was very tempted to go down the canal with my camera. BUT. I have to walk downhill which ever way I go, and climb up a hill when I come back., so thought better of it, even though there will be some lovely sceens to photograph. Just my luck to go head over heals and end up with a broken leg/arm. So I will stay in doors and think of it. I will take a couple of photo's of the garden instead. !!!
Must put some salt down on the steps and patio first. :-0 :-0 :-0

Afternoon everyone, We have lovely bright sun shine here this morning after a very hard frost , we had a job to slide back the bolt on the back gate so we could open the gate !!
Hubby 's still home, too icey for him to work out ,he talked me into going out this morning ,we had to get his tablets from Bo*ts so we trotted off , going through the church yard wasn't to bad as we were walking on the snow ,but when we got to the pavements in the town well that was another matter !! they were solid ice !! all packed down tight ,people were gingerly walking on them ,no git or salt on the paths at all they were terrible ,i was glad to get home!! :-S Hubby keep saying you tense your self up ,just walk normally ,who wouldn't be tense walking on paths like that . I made sure i kept a tight hold of his arm .
No schools open at all here today ,poor little Jake has the trots !! he hasn't been to school at all this week , i hope the others don't get it .
Terrible news about the helicopter crash , it's a wonder there weren't more killed .

Thanks to all who sent photos and video clips, I would never have guessed they were talking about Kris Kristofessen Shirl. You've certainly had the worst of it in Norfolk Mandy, Kent is another place that seems to get the worst of it too. Poor old Toby didn't look too happy. Great photo of the owl Mel, I've only ever seen them at the zoo, not a lot of wildlike in this area :-(
I think we are going to get the snow by Friday, at least I won't have to go out, shopping tomorrow must remember to get some fat balls and seed for the birds apart from the goldfinches all I get in my garden are starlings.
So you don't think the pushchair will come back into fashion :-D :-D I must have been about 1 year to eighteen months, I won't tell you what one of mine said about it, but it wasn't very PC ......lol

Hi folks, I'm with you all about the terrible fiasco with the helicopter crash. It stopped me in my tracks when I heard it first on the radio news. It was more like something out of a Bruce Willis film. The first news footage I saw, there was a car (looked like a Mini) actually driving towards the flames! Someone was shouting at him 'your cars on fire', after that he reversed back. The first thing I said to Carmel was about navigation lights at the top, there certainly are a lot of questions to be answered. However, given the time, the place and the situation, it's a miracle the death toll and injuries are so light. I'd think if I'd have been there it would have been a clean-pair-of-underpants job.
Maureen, you email was bang up to date topical. I think there won't be many sales of burgers at T*sco or many other supermarkets for a while. I was always a bit suspicious of them myself.
Mandy, loved your snowy photos, you did well there, they looked very picturesque. Our snow didn't stay long but I've been out back feeding the birds etc today and it is raw cold.
Just thought of another little saying my Mum had which has come to me after watching Father Brown on TV and seeing the 'lady of the manor'. My Mum used to refer to posh people who thought themselves above others as 'Lady Dunabunk'. Funny how these things come back to you.

I haven't read the posts since this morning and need to catch up.Just back from the Crematorium. My it was so foggy up there.I took a couple of pics as I was leaving.Needless to say there was not a lot of hanging round looking at flowers etc.It was freezing.Frank I'm sure you have been there so you can imagine what it was like.
Mandy your photos are great. You have had sooo much more snow than us.Toby looks like he is walking very gingerly on that path lol
Frank was your little Thrush singing it's head off in the tree?Poor birds I do feel sorry for them.I spent £13 on food for them this morning :-S.They better make it last :-D
Just had a call from the Insurance people ....saying they will not pay for my Laundry Services :-S :-S..I have asked to speak to someone else so am hoping for a call in the next day or 2.I won't hold my breath.
The freezing fog has come in thick now and it is very dangerous out there.I decided not to come home via the A14 from the crem and came back through town as I felt safer that way.

Good on you Jane you squeeze them for every penny. So many people try to claim for things and the insurance won't pay out.
We had a pipe leak on the central heating and it soaked the lounge carpet whic went black up the edge. The insurance would'nt pay out a penny for the pipe or the carpet. Needless to say mum changed the insurance after that. When the cystern cracked they would'nt pay out either and that was Saga. For all the things that have gone wrong in this place mum never got a penny from the insurance.
I hav'nt looked at Mandy's pics yet........
