Morning All and Evening Km,

We have sunshine this morning but it is a bit chilly. I wonder how long it will last?

I have a PCC meeting next week and have a lot of paper work to do.

If the cloths stick to your fingers I may not be able to use them, or I could try using them with rubber gloves on. The thing is I have a lot of wood in the kitchen that has to be dusted, eg. the plate rack and room divider which catches on an ordinary duster anyway!!

Good morning Friends/Evening Kim.

Have heard from a friend in Aus this morning. They are having a rough time of it. Been evacuated twice, and threats for today and Tomorrow. Over 920 people evacuated from the area. The firefighters are working flat out, to try to save their homes.

Do hope our Kim is O.K. as she lives in front of the wild like park area. doesn't she ??? Plenty of woodland to catch fire. !!

Well with all the upset yesterday, I was in bed for a read at 11.00 pm but was unable to settle and last looked at the clock at 3.00 am. Ros bought me my Asprin and tea in at 10.00 am. Had two cups of tea and tablets, but don't feel I want to eat. Might have a soup at lunchtime.

This sewing circle is a spin off from the Tapestry. When they finished the "Wedding Kneeler" and the big curtain, they needed something else to do. So the are doing QUILTING fot bed covers single and double, also bags, and any other thing that they can either pass on to the HEROES or sell to raise funds for them. Keeps her from under my feet !!! lol lol

During those waking hours last night I remembered when I was 16 and had just joined the CITY OFFICE. As I have mentioned I was a POST BOY delivering and collecting documents all over the City. At lunchtimes I would walk down to Wentworth Street. just of Shoreditch (PEDICOTE LANE ON SUNDAY'S) There were every type of stall you can imagine, also Jewish, Italian, Chinese, pie and mash, food outlets, so a gtreat variety of lunchs, tom choose from. Once I had eated I would stand outside a music shop, that played all the top hits of the day in the shop, with the door open, there was always a gathering of youngsters. This particular day a nice girl of about 19 stood there. we got into conversation, and when it was time to leave she gave me a BIG lingering kiss, that had my knees trembling lol lo. She worked at Percy Doulton's peanut factory in the East End.

Marvelous what goes through your mind in the middle of the night.

Haven't been out yet, but once I am showered and shaved, I will take a walk up to the Doctors to pick up our tablets.

Good to be back. !!!

Nice to have you back Frank.

When I went outside the back door this morning as oh had a phone call, the robin came up to us and I got the box of mealworms down and opened it and before I could get some out he landed on the edge of the box in my hand and helped himself. Of course neither oh nor I had a camera with us as it was so unexpected. Oh did say he cam eto himj this morning and settled of this box but did'nt eat any worms from him.

Afternoon all

cold but sunny today , must collect my prescription this afternoon or I will have run out by Sunday.

I have been chatting to a friend who has a woman who comes to the house to do her hair , I think I will ask for her phone number and get her to come and cut my hair, My head is still tingling so I don't want to go to the hairdressers as they just about take your scalp off when washing hair,
If she will just cut the length I will wash and dry it myself.

Time to pop the kettle on.

Frank

Frank Report 11 Jan 2013 14:12

Thanks for the reminder Fiona, I am out of my sleepers. So I MUST go and get our perscriptions when they open at 2.30 pm.

Glad little robbie is still around Mel, pity you didn't have your camera !!

I see from the news we are going to get "The blast from the EAST" wind and snow from the Baltic. The have all the snow ploughs at the ready around the Country. The sky is looking full of cloud, that might mean the snow is on it's way.

I see out doves are getting it "together" I thought it was a bit early for them. But the way the weather is at the moment, I bet they don't know whether they are coming or going !!!

I she the "SHARD" is almost ready to open to the public. What a building, I realy couldn't believe the hight of it when I was next to it in July. I also see you can't buy tickets for some time as it is SOLD OUT. the tickets are £25.00 per person. I would hope that I will be able to get to go up it, in the next year or so. It will be another building/place I can tick of my list !!!

Frank ,it is blooming freezing.Heating is on and the fire roaring away .Monday seems to be the day that we are forecast most snow I think.I have stocked up with bird food this morning, and got a couple of bags of coal .We have loads of logs so are all hunky dory :-D :-D
Our Wood Pidgeons are always 'at it' .The Horses in the field are also looking rather frisky at the moment.I thought they were scrapping but Chris thinks they might have been getting a bit amorous ;-)

I am in the kind of mood today when I don't feel like doing anything much so I don't think I will lol.I have 3 shirts to get ironed and put some shopping away .Then I will have a nice cuppa and cosy up to the fire :-D

Afternoon everyone,

No frost or fog this morning ,we've had a little sun shine and now the sky has that funny light to it ,as if its going to do some thing !!

Nice to see you back Frank, i was reading about The Shard ,takes only 60 seconds to get up to the 75th floor !! but i think there are another twenty more floors after that !!
Lovely views ,but you definitely need a head for heights, not sure if i would .

Little Katie settled into nursery with no tears ,son had the afternoon off to see her go ,he said he would wave to her through the window but when he looked she had trotted off to play.
He told her she would be playing with all the other girls and boys .....no she said not with the boys !! :-D
He has taken some photo's and said he would email them to me later .
Spag Bol for tea for hubby ,not sure what i fancy ,might have a jacket potato.

Just been having a go with our steam cleaner in the bathroom. It certainly shifted more muck from around the bottom runners and places that are hard to reach with any thing else.

I think I shall just go and rub some washing up liquid over the doors of the shower now and then steam those.

Mandy looking forward to see the pics of little Katie. Don't they just surprise you sometimes with the things they say and do. You expect tantrums and they just sail away as if it was the norm.

Our sunshine did'nt last long this morning and now it is dull and dreary again. O it has just popped out again. Surprise surprise.....

I have just been sniffing around out by the back porch as I thought there was a whiff of Tom Cat!!!....It turned out to be a couple of gone off Leeks that I have put out there ready to go down to the compost lolol.I think I will just chuck them outside the back door now until tomorrow.

Mandy what a relief that little Katie was happy going into Nursery.I remember Hannah screaming the place down when I first took her ,and I was hanging around outside in tears too .But she soon forgot about me and settled in .

I think Hannah told me a little while ago that she had been in the Shard.I can't remember why(will have to ask her).It is the most strange building.I stood at a bus stop with Hannah just near it,just at the time is was being completed. It reminded me a bit of some of the buildings in Dubai.

Talking of Dubai.Rachel is starting Ethan at Nursery.I think 3 mornings a week to begin .He needs to socialise and play with other children now plus letting Rachel able to concentrate on the new Baby.In April or May they will be moving to Capetown !The Company Darren is with is opening a new office there and I assume that he will be running that one.I think she will be happier in South Africa(if she can truly be happy) as the climate is much better than Dubai ,plus her Father ,Aunt,Uncle ,cousin and niece and Nephew live over there.About 5 hours from Capetown but just a 45 minute flight.I know Rachel has been there several times and has always said that she loves it.

My dental hygienist today was not the usual one. This one was lovely and very gentle. She said if I wanted her to stop to just raise my left hand(which I had to do twice when I thought my jaw was going to cramp)

Tomorrow I think I shall be off to choose my Freezer and Tumble dryer :-D :-D

Whats for dinner?
Lightly Dusted Lemon Sole,Chips,Sugersnaps, baby corn ,and baby carrots.

Where has OH gone again then Mel....he is always out and about .

Frank ,maybe you will sleep better tonight .Have you collected those sleepers???

William Report 11 Jan 2013 19:51

Hi all, hi Frank, GREAT to have you back matey. First off, yes we watched Silent Witness last night and it lost us a bit too. Me falling asleep didn't help in my case but there you go. I see they have completely changed the format and there is only Nicki & Leo left from ther original lineup. The way it started I thought "Was it on last night and I missed it?" but a look in the TV mag confirmed it was part 1. BBC, if it aint broke, don't fix it!!!

Frank, as you know I worked near Fenchurch Street when I first left school in an office in Lloyds Avenue. Sadly, no young lady gave me a lingering kiss so I think you hit the jackpot there. I've still got my reference that they gave me when I came out of the RAF and came looking for work in the Midlands.

I told you all about the missing 2013 A5 diary that went missing here and turned up in a bag within a bag. Well, we've come to the conclusion that we must have a spook in the house as several things have really disappeared since then. I also had a pocket diary and on New Years Day I sat down and carefully transferred all the birthdays etc into the new diary. Then when I went to find it to put it in my jacket pocket, there was no sign of it and it hasn't turned up since. I know for sure it never left the house.
The birthday invitation to my granddaughter and her husbands joint birthday party in February still hasn't been found, Carmel has put it somewhere so safe that neither of us knows where it is!
The next thing that went missing this week was what's called 'a security key', it fits the special lock on my model den. I went to look for that and I can't find that either - had to go and buy another one for £3 today.
Another thing, and this is big enough not to go unnoticed, is a biscuit tine. We emptied it (mmm, delicious McV*Tie choc and creams), I recycled the plastic inners and it was put 'somewhere safe'. Carmel went to give it to her friend on Wednesday night to keep cakes in and - Hey Presto, that too has done a disappearing act.
I just hoping that one of these mornings one of the two of us hasn't disappeared!!! :-\

We had to go out this morning, Carmel had a doctors appointment, and it was foggy-ish, cold and damp. We just couldn't get warm or keep warm. It was bad enough Wednesday night coming from my model club meeting at the Coventry Air Museum, out near the airport. That was really foggy and even using the well lit main roads it was tricky. Cars with faulty lights do not help either.

There was another lorry fire on the M6 near our junction 3 again on Wednesday. One of our model Club members was driving by on the other carraigeway and took a photo on his mobile phone. It was a total inferno but he said the driver got out safely.

Anyway, folks, that's me for now. I'm going to back track on the threads in case I missed anything. C Y A L

Cheeky Frank !! Chris is often saying I open my mouth too often :-S
Rachel(Dubai ) and I have just been in touch by emails. That is fine.(still no apology though as to what happened at the last visit). To be honest I am passed being angry about all that now.I would just rather forget that .Maybe one day I will bring it up with her.I 'd just rather let sleeping dogs lie .She has made a few comments on things I said that day and said it has made her think!! So I am going to leave it now.I don't think she would dare behave like that again here lol

I remember the first day my Sister started School......I had to take her :-S..We were greeted by the Headmaster(Mr Ellison)He asked Janice if she was happy to be staring school. Her answer was "NO" she was being forced to go lol.I can still picture it now..I was mortified at her rudeness. When we got home in the afternoon I think I told my parents off for making me take her and having to suffer the embarrassment.I think I was 10...Happy Days eh??
I hated having to keep an eye on Janice at school......I love her now

An Irish daughter had not been home for over 5 years. Upon her return, her Father cussed her. 'Where have ye been all this time? Why did ye not write to us, not even a line? Why didn't ye call? Can ye not understand what ye put yer old Mother thru?'

The girl, crying, replied, 'Sniff, sniff....Dad....I became a prostitute...'

'Ye what!!? Out of here, ye shameless harlot! Sinner! You're a disgrace to this Catholic family.'

'OK, Dad-- as ye wish. I just came back to give mum this luxurious fur coat, title deed to a ten bedroom mansion plus a $5 million savings certificate. For me little brother, this gold Rolex. And for ye Daddy, the sparkling new Mercedes limited edition convertible that's parked outside plus a membership to the country club........................ (takes a breath)............. And an invitation for ye all to spend New Years Eve on board my new yacht in the Riviera and.......'

'Now what was it ye said ye had become?' says Dad.

Girl, crying again, 'Sniff, sniff....a prostitute Daddy! Sniff, sniff.'

'Oh! Be Jesus! Ye scared me half to death, girl! I thought ye said a Protestant. Come here and give yer old Dad a hug.
