Been to Bideford shopping. As you went into the town you coukld see where they had had a lot of water on th roads as it washed the leaves to the sides.
Just eaten three crumpets as I did'nt have any lunch today. Made a cauli chesse for tonight this morning so all I have to do is bung it in the oven with some lamb and mint sausages I bought. They sound nice as they have lemon mint and honey in them too.
Loved the soggy ponies Ann. At least they had plenty of water with their hay!! :-D Like the little apaloosa type one in the last pic.
I am up for a party Frank :-D :-D :-D when does it start...........

I like the one of the spotty pony too......think he is eyeing up the green stuff around the tree.
Mel, I can well imagine the water rushing down the road to Bideford. Last year we seemed to only walk 'up' or 'down' when we went there. I have a pot of lemon mint....I like the leaves in a chicken sandwich.
LOL Mandy.........he won't need a 'naughty' step now the shirt cupboard is nearly empty! I wonder if he has gone over to Jane's to fetch the trolley like he suggested? He is very quiet as you say!!
I've just stuck a note in the kitchen saying 'no food or tea' for in the morning. I'm off to hospital tomorrow to have the annual tests for the project I joined. The first thing will be a fasting blood test, so only water from midnight tonight and I will have to get up at 6.30am so will be like a zombie heading straight for the kettle if I'm not careful!!
I got some sparkly bead necklaces on the market this morning to dismantle for the beads as they are good and cheaper there than sending off for the beads. An Asian man had the stall and offered me a better price for buying 3. I decided to get more and thought I would haggle back. It worked as he knocked another 25% off what the total price would have been!!! I worked with an Asian chap once who told me always to haggle with Asian sellers and never pay the asking price. He said it is expected and the way they trade. Well it worked today. :-)
William, I like the little girl in Crickley too! I said to OH that they would have to be careful with such a young girl acting in such a scary series........it might be too frightening!!

Evening All Just had a knock on the door from Anglian Water to say that our main drain should start to go down now as apparently there was a fault or something at the Pumping Station down the road.James is now running a bath :-D.So no more trips to Fitz's Loo :-D :-D.I have 'been twice today lol
We now have another dehumidifier and fans back. But at least they are just in the garage and downstairs loo.
It looks unlikely that Janice will be coming tomorrow. My niece is panicking now.The garden shed is flooded and lawn mower, strimmer and some ride on toys have gone. The flood water is just about to breech the flood protection thing in her back garden and then it will not be long before the water gets in.The front of the house has water right across the road and just needs a few feet to the front door. Her next door neighbour had a removal van this morning to take all her furniture from the ground floor into storage. There was an aerial view on the news of Rachels row of houses.
Ann ,those poor horses.I know they are sturdy but it is horrible to see them standing in all that water. There are a lot of them too !!
Frank .Will you be wearing anything when you come to pick up the trolley?? ;-) ;-) I might need to cover my eyes lol ......I think Ros did the right thing .You had a ridiculous amount of shirts :-0 :-0 I thought Chris was bad enough ,but you take the biscuit there . Dinner is not far off now .Just a simple Southern Fried Chicken Fillets,Potato Wedges.Asparagus and carrots.

I don't think the ponies mind the water......think of those white horses in the Camargue in France. If it stays the same they will have to move them in the next day or two though as it won't be good for their legs and feet being in it for too long and it will become boggy with being churned up. I must go and have a look at Narborough station, the next village to here as there are ponies, goats, llamas that graze on the flood plains next to the river Soar that flows past there.
It sounds like you've done all you can for now Jane. At least the dryers won't be as loud in the garage and thankfully it didn't all come into the house as well. I can't even begin to imagine how awful that would have been Fancy it being the pumping station at fault! As for your poor Niece, what an awful situation, just waiting to see what happens with the water!!

Just popping in to say hello. Health issues ongoing, but with you all in spirit. Lots of dental work and more tomorrow. Just trying to get through each day at the moment.
I hope you are all well, although it must be getting pretty cold over there.
Small party for the girl's 18th on Friday night, although we were told after the invites were posted on Fb. Can't participate as I've no energy so I hope her dad is up to the challenge. It would be good to have some time to plan things.
Cheers for now and thank you for the photos that are being sent. 5.59 pm DST

Morning All and Evening Kim,
So sorry to hear your still feeling unwell Kim. Hope the party is not too rowdy and dos'nt turn into a BIG party as the invitations went out on Facebook anything could happen!! :-0 :-0 :-0
Dull old start to the day today. We had a horrendous wind last night. I had just been in bed about 10 mins when there was an awful crash. I had to get up and look at the bantam houses to make sure they were still there. They were so I went back to bed and must have fallen asleep straight away.................. they are still there this morning anyway so it was'nt them that made the noise.
Jane they mentioned NOrthampton on the news last night and Tewkesbury and showed a pretty line of house in an ariel view. Was that where your niece lives?? I beleive Tewkesbury is a bit like an island is'nt it. Did'nt we have Mick the Stick from Tewks.????

Morning/Evening All
Hi Kim .How good to see you pop in.Good luck with all the dental work. That has reminded me I need to re book my last appointment that I cancelled. I am rushing as Janice,Larry and Little William will be here any moment :-D :-D :-D :-D Her daughters house was still dry earlier but neighbours either side of her have the water in now.The brick flood defence thing in the garden must be helping.Whether it will hold is a matter of just waiting and hoping .At the front though the water is just at the sandbags ,so very near the front door. :-S It could have been her row Mel on the news.I haven't seen it today but Janice said she could see the terrace from the aerial shot yesterday.
I am going to get the coffee on the go so it will be ready and smell lovely when they get here. I am so excited to meet my Gt Nephew as long last :-D :-D :-D.I'm sure there will be photos taken :-D :-D Fitz wants to see Janice and family but has to wait in for telecom or someone so after our coffee we will pop down for a while.I will be taking my washing too .I hope Fitz isn't needing his machine today...I have 2 big loads :-S :-S
See you later

Afternoon all,
No I didn't hit the bottle and Ros didn't lock me in.
The N.W.A.Ambulance said to leave the bags out for collection before 8 am. As we wouldn't be up,I put them out last night. This morning they were gone by 8.30 am. I then looked down the close, and there were bags everywhere. I phoned the hotline but they said. They might have been early and picked up any left out overnight, then come back later to pick up the others. I just hope some BAS###D didn't come round a steal the TWO bags full.
Rain and wind first thing, but trying to brighton a bit. I see there are 200 plus flood warnings out around the Counrty. Hope you all stay dry.
Off to meet our Jane tomorrow. !!! Kettle on for 11.00 am. While I am that way I will call and see my friend, who I haven't seen for a few years. So will give him a surprise. :-) :-)
Those ponies look at home in the water. But as you say they have been there for years, so are use to it.
Keep dry all, BBL

Frank, what some lovely photos, thank you very much for sending them to me. Have been into Malmesbury this am! no sign of the floods but the street where it was really bad still looks VERY damp, and peoples houses look bedraggled! I feel SO sorry for them and everyone else who has born the brunt of the storms. What on earth is going to be the story over insurance? not good news to say the least. Sun out here, briefly, so am soldiering off out with Millie! Hope everyone is ok.

Since I've been doing family history I've been amazed at the variety of surnames there are. I was listening to Chris Evans on the radio this morning when he had a little boy on his 'What have you done today' (? or whatever!) slot. The little boy kept on about his lady teacher whose surname was Nott. But when he said it, it came out as Miss Nott! (Miss Snot). Then I was thinking about other names, some famous some I've known personally. There is TV news reporter Lindsey Doyle (Linseed Oil) and politician Ed Balls (should have been a footballer!). Then there was a girl at work whose first name was Rhianon - she got married to a chap whose name was Cannon - Rhianon Cannon! I'm sure there are others but they don't spring to mind at the moment, but it would be interesting if some of you added names that you have found humourous. My sir name is Roe and when I was at primary school I was known as Willy Roe, and the kids would taunt " Willy Roe (will he row) or won't he?"
Funny old day today, you wouldn't know what it wants to do. I didn't go far today and didn't see any signs of flooding. It's bad enough seeing it on TV, my heart goes out to those affected.

She is a litle cutie the girl in the Crickley Hall drama, I think she is the one in the Oreo Advert too. I thought the actress who plays Magda Cribben has an uncanny resemblance to a young Barbara Flynn but I looked it up and she's not her daughter.
Another wet and dull day, it's getting quite dark and it's only 3.15.
Good luck with the party Kim, glad mine are all past those celebrations.
Lovely photos again Ann, I can see how it would be bad to leave the ponies too long in all that wet.
Have a lovely day with Janice, Jane bet you are getting lots of cuddles with baby William

A family in the village, the father I use to play skittles with were known as MO, little MO and half a MO. How they got that handle I will never know.
No change in the weather here. Rain and Windy.
No cooking tonight. F & C VAN around about 6.30/7.00 pm. Nice piece of COD for me and Fish cakes for Ros..

Frank that ad is so awful. I suppose they think that it will stick in the memory like that and they are right of course!! It is so unatural? sp? should that have had 2 n's??
The actor is so like children acting in schools or people acting acting if you see what I mean.
As to the little girl in Crickley Hall..... I think she is a dream and those eyes!!!! Lovely little chubby cheeks and little rosebud mouth. She puts me in mind of the older girl who is in another program as a daugther with a brother. Both those children are blimmin good actors for their ages.
