LOL Jane......she smokes 2 packs a day as well! They think it may be to do with either having no children or having them late in life. The theory is that once you have reproduced, there is no need for your body anymore. :-S
Well done David! It is good to take another step back in your tree. Soon be Downton.....looking forward to that!

No it's cruciate ligament or some thing like that. Ligaments around the knee joint twisted beyond their range.

Here we are,
We didn't stay overnight in Rutland. When they rang Harvey about Lewis staying over. They had already made arrangements for their day. Lewis and Julia went to the new swimming pool in Luton and Harvey went shopping at Macr#.
We rang them on the way home, so they could set off from Toddington, My phone ans Lewis said, they would be a bit late as he was watching Chelsea V Man.Utd.
Harvey stayed till 8.30pm Then we settled down to Downton. I left Ros and Lewis sitting watching Tele when I went to bed at 11.00
We are all showered and dressed. Lewis has an appointment with the orthadontist at 2.00 pm in Newport Pagnell. and an appointment with the ordinary dentist at 3.45 tomorrow.
Wednesday morning Ros is out with Martine for a couple of hours, and Lara is coming in the afternoon with the baby.
Thursday will be the Cinema, the new James Bond Film. So we will have a busy week.
We have seen such a change in Lewis, since we last saw him. He has started to mussle up and fill out. He has also started to grow taller. Harvey said he's getting man hair also, I( DON'T WANT HIM TO GROW UP YET !!!!
Very wet journy home last night, but roads were quite clear. Very bright and sunny morning here, Ros has a line of Whites on the line and a load of Coloureds in the Machine.
Hope you enjoy your day, I have sent a load of emails to you today. Hope you like them.

Weather was nice this morning ,we had sunshine ,but this afternoon the black clouds are about and and now looks more like rain !! We are so lucky when you think about all those poor people in America having to leave their homes and not knowing what will be left of them when they return !!
Time for a cuppa i think .BBL

OMG arrived back yesterday, went from 28 degrees in Tenerife to 5 when we landed. Have had a fantastic holiday lazing on the beach in the sun, enjoying a 'few' drinks in the bar and eating out everyday, back to reality now, can't even show off my sun tan, it's jumpers, jeans and boots.
Haven't caught up with all the posts, hope everyone is well. Thanks Mel for the photos, I love hedgehogs, wish I could coax one into my garden. Your granddaughters Mandy are absolute beauties poor Jake, do they gang up on him. My daughter is still waiting, was texting her everyday while I was away, she is11 days over her due date now, if no movement by Wednesday they will induce her.
Must go and sort out all the summer clothes now, they will have to go away and the winter stuff to come out .............. it's so cold .................

Glad your back safe and sound Maureen and it s good to know you had nice weather out there after all that looking at the forcasts.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID. Hope you enjoyed your day and were spoilt rotten. <3
Well I did my shopping earlier and have been back since about 4pm. Just having a cuppa. Roast loin of pork in the oven for dinner and I will do some runners and mash I think. I picked about 6lbs of runners yesterday and have four big bags out on the table outside and gave a friend a pound last night and have a pound and a half for us.
Oh made a lovely little pot and lid which he finished off today. You take the first lid off and it has another little lid under it.
Ordered my wires to make my wreaths today and more ribbon in red silver and gold and some new buches of holly berries which ook quite real incase there are none around when the time comes. Also a new big roll of bubble plastic to cover the ponds.

Phew David we got the right day this year lol.Was it last year or the year before we were a month out??Hope you are having a nice day.
Welcome home Maureen .It sounds as though you had brilliant weather after all :-D :-D.I'm not surprised you feel a bit chilly now :-S :-S.We were all hoping for news on your latest G Child. But see we have to wait a bit longer like you and your poor Daughter. She must be getting so fed up now and pretty uncomfortable I should imagine.
I just got a shock when I looked out the window and realised it is pitch black now.
So your Lewis is changing into a man then Frank. It will be the hormones next.!! I remember James from being a lovely boy turning into this argumentative thing with attitude :-S.......Thankfully it didn't last to long :-D :-D. There was one day when was about 14 or so and wanted to go out on his skateboard.I can't remember why I said he couldn't but can see the 2 of us now.He was storming off up the drive with skateboard under his arm shouting (very loud) that I couldn't F******* tell him what to do.Who the F*** did I think I was etc etc . I was in the doorway behaving like a Fisherwoman (my poor neighbours).I just shut the door on him in the end as I couldn't physically manhandle him back in as he was already taller than me .Oh those were the days :-D :-D :-S :-S He is a smashing young man now :-D :-D

I am a very eloquent Fisher Wife David.You should hear me :-D :-D :-S
I never heard my parents yelling .They had their arguments I know but must have done them quietly lol.I do remember my friend Ann's Mum losing it once when Ann had a very bad school report. She stabbed the report with a kitchen knife and it got stuck in the kitchen table :-0 :-0.I can still see it as clear as day now lol.At least the knife went through the report and not through Ann.I skeddadled pretty sharp :-D :-D
Do you all remember the dread of parents seeing your school reports????.That blooming envelope :-S :-S

Evening All,
First and most important......
MANY HAPPY RETURNS DAVID!! <3 Hope you have had a good day. :-D
I bet it did feel cold when you got back Maureen and now dark nights as well!! Glad you had nice weather though. Won't be long before your daughter gives birth now then.......how nice of the baby to wait till you got back from your hols! :-)
Yes, the hurricane is expected to be much bigger than the Katrina one isn't it. Silly people though that are standing on the beach waiting for it!!!!
Oh Frank, he is growing up fast! Soon he could be swapping footie for girls! We are off to see the new James Bond film too....tomorrow afternoon. I love Judi Dench!!
I had to take a top back that I bought the other day. (why don't all the manufacturers use the same sizes? :-| :-|) On the fast ring road police had cordonned off a van that was missing it's front end after an accident. A chap was standing well back on the verge with a policeman, looking a bit shaken but ok. Then I noticed he had a Boxer type dog with him on a lead. I thought how hard it must be to reassure a dog that has been involved in a car smash and wondered if some are too frightened to get in a car again.

Thank you Ann
Back around 1980 I was comming back to Newcastle from Hexham A69 The rear of the vehicle began slewing then the rear near side wheel came of the hub.The van was brought to a halt at the kerb side.I got out in the lashing rain and went to recover the wheel, lorries passing me at speed. If it had of been the FOS wheel that came off it could have been a very serious accident :-0 :-0

Ann.It always bothers me about animals that have been in an accident. But years ago when the children were young a man turned his Jeep over at the top of the road.I found the man in a daze at the side of the road with a big gash on his forehead. There were 2 dogs still in the Jeep all upside down :-S.One was a big dog and the other a Jack Russel.Somehow we got them out and into the back of my car and I brought them all back to my house.I was having my kitchen tiled then and had to shut the dogs in there with the chap who was doing the tiling.I had a cat then so couldn't let the dogs in the lounge(where cat was).Good job too as the dogs took it in turns peeing everywhere :-S.But when they were collected later they went into the car fine. You just don't know how an animal's mind reacts after a traumatic experience. They can't tell you can they :-S
I hope all will be safe in America with this hurricane .We think we have problems!!!
Just watching Panorama and the shocking treatment those people with learning difficlties suffered.I don't want to get on my soapbox :-S so will zip it :-D

Morning All and evening Kim,
Dry here but very wet about in the garden.
Hedgie came out and ate his food last night but I did'nt see him. The stick was down so I knew he had been out.
This morning oh woke me by tapping on the bedroom window. When I got up and looked out he had a baby wren in his hand. It just sat there for a while and oh motioned to me to get hte camera as I got to the bedroom door he tapped on the window again but the wren had flown off so no pic. :-(
Nothing much planned for today but I must do some dusting in places I always seem to miss and clean the bathroom.
I have been watching on the pc Tales of the Green Valley. I had seen them before but have been enjoying them again.
