Ann .I saw a fold up Ironing board somewhere(one to fit in a small space).I think it might have been in Argos. We don't talk about kettles here as we go through them like nothing on earth :-S.Maybe 2 a year.Just the same as Irons.

Chris has gone to pick Hannah up from the station now so she will be starving and ready for her Baked Potato and Cheese. It is all ready to just dish up.It will be nice to see her.I do miss her.
Oh she is here>> :-D

Yes, that should work better Mel. :-) Have you hoovered everywhere now? :-D My first OH was a nightmare with all the wood shavings/sawdust he brought home on his clothes. He used to hoover himself down with the sawdust extractor before he left, but I would find bits of wood everywhere in the house.

Jane, the cupboard is a tall one, but some ironing boards are just a bit too tall to go under the shelf in it. I just need to write down the height that will go in. I must say our irons seem to last longer with OH using them!! :-S

MIL is home now, but nearly had to stay because of her swollen legs this time! You would need the patience of a saint to be their nurse Frank!!! We will be helping with some things for a while like the heavy shopping. They are best sorting their own meals as they are so particular what they eat and rigid about times. They have stocked up with a few ready meals to start with. OH rang FIL last night and said he was fine answering it. Apparently, MIL tried to ring FIL this morning.........and he put the phone down on her!!! Well, it's her own fault for not letting him use the phone and he is so used to seeing her slam the phone down with cold callers!! lol.

Pat it sounds as if you will need a scarf and gloves!! Hope you have a nice time. :-)

Morning/Evening All

I have just rung the council to see if someone could remove a dead Badger from the pavement :-( :-(.This is the first time in all the years living here that I have seen a dead one. Many foxes and a deer but never a Badger.

It is much brighter this morning with a slightly chilly wind.Fitz has just picked Hannah up to take her in to the Dentist.I think she has some bits and pieces to do in town so will find a bus back.

Pat I find it more difficult to wake these mornings as it is so dark.I just like to snuggle down again .Mind you I do wake first at 5.30 when Chris's alarm goes off :-S

Time for some Toast and Tea now.

David

David Report 26 Oct 2012 09:36

Wake up to your favorite toon. :-)

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Another dull and miserable day and it cold. The wind came up a bit last night and I did'nt see hedgie. Oh had put a stick up against the doorway to the box last night and that was down at 11.30pm but no food from his saucer was eaten and it's still there this morning.

Oh is out in the garage turning away at something and I hav'nt let the chickens out yet!!!!!!

Must go and do that now.

Frank Report 26 Oct 2012 12:05

Morning just,

Sleept like a log last night. got up at 9.30. could have easily turned over for another hour. Ros made me a cup of tea. I got toast and my mate with the 2nd one.

Weard old fream again last night. THREE EAGLES were sitting in the cherry tea, and thousands of starlings swarming around the sky. The little black and white cat was trying to get up the tree at them. We had people everywhere taking photo's. Where do theses dreams come from ????

Poor old FIL ann, I bet he got his ear bent, putting down the phone on MIL ;-) ;-) ;-)

Mel, It was always something I promised myself when I retired. was to take up wood turning. We have a guy in the village that turns out some wonderful things. All different sizes of mushrooms in lovely coloured woods. Table skittles from boxwood and the "cheeses" Harvey has a lathe but I don't think I would be sake using it with one doddgy arm !!!!

Jane have you anything planned with Hannah for the weekend, Girlie time shopping perhaps.

Ros has her bits packed for the weekend in Rutland. I will throw a few pairs of pants, socks, shirts, and trousers in a bag, when I come out of the shower.

Conrad is off to Spain on Monday to meet up with a property guy, who wants to work with them. Another iron in the fire. !!!! He's only going till Wednesday, to see what he has to offer.

Hedgie has gone walk about eh, perhaps he's gone a courting !!!!

Jane

Jane Report 26 Oct 2012 12:20

No nothing planned Frank .Maybe a bit of shopping tomorrow, and then she is off to an evening wedding do in Leicester. She gets the train back to London just before 10 as she needs to be back for a surprise Lunch for John.It is his 30th and somehow she has managed to book somewhere and get 25 of his friends turn up (all without John knowing).Very difficult I would have thought. But she seems to have managed it. :-D

She is back from town and Dentist. She was flabbergasted at the £72 she had to pay for a checkup and scale and polish.Or as Frankie Howard would have said her gast was flabbered.I think she will see if she can find an NHS one somewhere in London.

My next male visitor will be here soon :-D

Afternoon all,

It's colder today, we had a little rain just before lunch but that's all dry up now with the wind .
Mel , has Hedgy gone into the box for his winter sleep , he's been filling up his belly these last few days so maybe he's gone in.

Ann, poor FIL i bet he was told off for hanging up like that :-S sounds as if it's going to fun and games round their house :-D i expect he's glad she's home though as it can be very tiring backwards and forwards to the hospital and at his age too.

Got to have our meal a bit earlier tonight ,i've got an appointment to have my tablets reauthorized at the doctors , i wish i'd got a morning appointment now ,i hate turning out when its dark and cold.

That's a lot to pay at the dentist !! we pay £16 for a check up scale and polish. Our dentist went private and we kept with them ,then it changed back to NHS so we changed back too, i think it will soon be time for our check up .

Have a nice weekend Frank,.

Time for a cuppa i think.

Hmm time for a cuppa! I think that is just what the doctor ordered right now.

I have a big stew on the go for tonight. Oh is painting a bowl he had turned. Don't know if he likes it or not but he said if it did'nt turn out right he would bin it. Seems a shame when he has put so much work into it.

I have had to give him some decent brushes as he was using plastic handled cheep ones and when he cleaned one out in the white spirit it fell apart. Did make him laugh but you can't tell him anything.

David

David Report 26 Oct 2012 17:58

She's been ripped off.

My dentist would have charged seventeen pound and fifty pence :-)

David

David Report 26 Oct 2012 18:00

Or she's merely treating me as a lost cause ?

Jane

Jane Report 26 Oct 2012 19:27

Too right she's been ripped off David. But as he is `private now I suppose she doesn't have a choice :-S.Lets hope she can find an NHS one in London.Good job she didn't need any work doing !

Mel that would be a shame if OH chucks out his latest bit of work.Is it the paint that he is not sure about?

Mandy I am like you and don't like turning out again in the evening unless it's for a meal or something similar. It always seems a faff to get ready.

I did have a chuckle at the thought of your FIL putting the phone down on MIL Ann :-D :-D

I feel pooped tonight.Probably because I was awake at 4 reading my Kindle :-S.
Hannah has just gone out to meet her friends for a meal at Prezz*.New restaurant here .I think it only opened 2 weeks ago.Maybe Fitz and I will go and try a lunch one day if they do a special lunch menu.Frank it is in the old Market Place next to the Parish Church

I expect Pat has left for the Weekend and Frank will be in Rutland.

Maureen should be back now(or was she going for 2 weeks)?

Nigel(my hairdresser ) has gone to North Devon .Instow.Not far from Mel.
He booked a massive house with I think he said 15 bedrooms!!!!!!!! For a big family week away.It must be a blooming mansion lol........Unless it was 15 rooms and not bedrooms.

Chris is home ...he is pretty late! So will go now.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Oct 2012 19:40

Jane

Jane Report 26 Oct 2012 20:08

You never know Mel you might bump into him and his lot in Bideford lol.You would like him.I just love him.I have known him since he was in his late teens .He lived a few doors from us when we were in our old house .He has been cutting my hair for well over 20 years now. When Hannah was about 4 she got chewing gum all stuck in her hair.I knocked on his mums door and asked if he could come and help the 'situation'
So he spent a good half hour trying to cut out all the gum from Hannah's curls lol.He still remembers that. :-D Now he is in his 40's with 4 Children !Scary!!!!!!

Annx Report 26 Oct 2012 21:30

Evening All,

We pay about the same as David for a checkup. Mind you, I don't even get a scale and polish for that as some of my teeth are too sensitive near the gum.

We visited MIL today. You wouldn't know she'd had an operation, up and dressed, up out of her chair to look out the window at any noise and following FIL about checking what he's doing, even though her legs are still swollen. They sent her home with 2 walkers, one for upstairs and one for downstairs........is she using them....of course not! In fact she's not doing much she was told to ! :-| After a while OH decided to go and get us all a cup of tea to save them getting up as FIL said his back was playing up today. I couldn't believe it when MIL sent FIL after OH to show him how much b####y water to put in the kettle!!!! She thinks no-one can do ANYTHING without her supervision!!! OH said when he drove her home from the hospital yesterday, she shouted to FIL sitting in the back more than 4 times to make sure he wasn't asleep!!!

How fantastic that Hedgie has been in his box Mel. It must have ticked all the boxes.

Off to watch the wolf prog I recorded on B*C 2 now.

Jane Report 26 Oct 2012 21:54

DEEP BREATH ANN :-D lol.MIL is back and ruling the roost :-S :-S

I'm just watching Piers Morgan...Burt Reynolds.....Burt looks like he has the biggest Shoulder pads.I bet he is quite skinny under all that.
James and Chris have disappeared 'orf' to bed.Chester snoring away,Hannah out ...so poor old Mum left like Billy no Mates. :-( :-(......I quite like it really :-D

I noticed the poor Badger had gone from the pavement .So I reckon my call to the council to ask for it to be removed did the trick :-D

I'll be off to bed myself soon so back in the morning x
