Mandy ,the post has just come. Thanks so much for those coupons .I will go on Saturday and get the rest of the cutlery.I have been very lucky as the last couple of times I have been I have been given coupons that other people has said no to

No wonder poor Mocha is being sick and pooping indoors Pat.I think Conkers are poisonous for dogs. Not 100% sure. Some dogs just like to scoff anything don't they!!

My old dog Dodger used to nick pieces of coal from the coal bucket and he also loved Walnut Shells !!

I have just emptied my corner carousel unit as it needs a darned good clean. It needs to be fixed when the work is done as the inside pole and trays have become loose when the kickboards came off.It is so awkward to reach into though as the folding door can't open all the way as the dishwasher is in the way :-S
You should see all the stuff I have got out.I haven't seen half of it for years :-S :-S
Most of it will join other stuff in the skip :-D

Frank that sounded like a great meal last night.I think there is a Harveste* just the other side of Kettering on the way to Corby. It is next to the new Holiday In*

Ooh Ann,thanks a bunch for reminding me what I have to look forward too :-| :-| :-|
I know just you mean about things being put away before you have finished using them.Drives me nuts :-S
Now I am going to try and clean this cupboard. It won't be easy .

Hi everyone.
I did our bit of ironing before I did my two hours in the garden yesterday, only I hate fitted sheets! Yesterdays meal here was, as Craig Revell Horwood say - a DIS-ARRRSTER. There was diced ox heart in the slow cooker with potatoes and I had instructions to turn it on at 4.30pm. I thought that was a bit late myself, but you never argue with the boss, especially when it's your wife! Come 6pm it was solid as a rock and only just warm. C-a-l-a-m-i-t-y!!! So, what to eat. We ended up having canned ravioli and noodles.- what a come down with all that meaty smell in the kitchen....So, now you know what todays menu is here....

Frank, we used to go to the local Harvester a lot. My daughters husband was the manager at the one in Nuneaton and she was the person who trained all the staff. No, we didn't get freebees, but we did go for the Early Birds. I used to love the salad bar, but Carrmel has a job with her eating now and that's one thing she can't manage. They left that branch, and he was recruited to run a new one opening at Aylesbury, I say new, it was located in an old coaching inn. Then they added a motel as well. However, the area manager didn't take to him and he got out and now owns his own financial consulting services with two branches. Sadly he and my daughter split up a while back but they are still very good friends. But I can safely say, I have had some good times and good meals in the Harvesters.

Today has been dry here and I got the h*overing done through the house, then defrosted and restocked the freezer. Then after lunch, I had to do a rescue mission on our cyclamen that had gone from looking gorgeous on our bay window ledge to drooping all over the place this morning. I got it out of its pot and found it was pot bound. I've now split it into two, repotted both, one back on the sill and the other one in the porch. Now it's up to mother nature, and lots of TLC.
Now, I'm going to do a bit more family research, I find it's better than crossword puzzles, and sometimes, just as insolveable. Still, it keeps me off the streets.

MillymollyAmanda Report 18 Oct 2012 16:26

Oh glad you got them ok Jane , do you want any more ? i got another four today .

Toby's always sniffing out things he shouldn't have !! i do think it might be the conkers Pat ,they are bad for dogs !!

It's funny you should mention the corner carousel, hubby's fitting one in a new kitchen today !!

Good job you had some thing in the cupboard William after the
DIS-ARRRSTER yesterday , not sure that i could eat the ox heart though :-S :-S

Jane

Jane Report 18 Oct 2012 17:01

William ,are you sure your instructions weren't to turn on the slow cooker at 4.30 AM :-D :-D.I have to say I could not even think about eating OX Heart.I hope it all turns out lovely and tender tonight.

Mandy that is great your OH is getting lots of work in.It makes a change to hear that .I know my nieces OH is struggling with his electrical business.

Dinner tonight for us is Sausages,Saute Potatoes, and roasted peppers, courgettes, mushrooms, red onions.

Chris went for a long walk earlier up across the fields. He met a chap with a Labrador which was haring up and down in all the standing water(after all that rain). The owner said he reckoned his dog thought it was at at the seaside lolol

I wonder if Maureen has arrived in Tenerife now?

Mandy I think I have plenty now thanks.I just counted them all ,and with yours I have 30 :-D
So I will get 2 more of the table sets(that will make 8) .The server set and some desert sets.I really like his cutlery and can't wait to get rid of the old ones.Although Chris just said "oh no you dont" He says we need to keep some so that when James moves out!!!!!!!! he can have them.Could be a few years yet :-S

I just scratched a crusty warty thing on my back and made it bleed.I couldn't see what it was but have been digging at it for a while now.Chris slapped a plaster on it and told me to keep my mitts off....Sorry if you are eating :-D

Jane

Jane Report 18 Oct 2012 18:01

No Mel that's Pat.I think Maureen went today :-D.Come on girl ,get to grips.(as my Dad would say)

Poor old Chester has got a really bad limpy leg today.Chris is moaning about his knees and my thumbs have been giving me gyp.Must be all this rain we had :-S

In our Post Office they are selling 1,000 piece Jigsaw Puzzles. One of them is of an old fashioned shop with lots of things we have talked about here.I think I might buy it.
We always used to have a new puzzle every Xmas.Last Xmas Hannah ,James and Aussie Sarah spent 3 days doing one of London. They thoroughly enjoyed doing it.
I will miss Sarah this year as she has been with us for the last 2 Xmas. But I think I told you all she had to go back to Australia as her permit ran out and she couldn't find a sponsor to enable her to stay here. She will no doubt be having a BBQ this Xmas.
I think I had better make a start on dinner, although no-one seems that hungry at the moment.

Conkers are hghly poisonous for dogs so are acorns and certain berries and chocolate.. They can also cause blockages and all sorts of nasties, and should be given a VERY wide berth.

Evening all,

Ros came in at 2.45 from having her feet down and going round Tesc#. The phone rang and it was Carolyn. Do you want to go to Northamton. Off they went at 3.pm came home 6 pm loaded down with Xmas presents !!! Only have to buy Conrads, Lewis and mine now. I don't know how the bank balance is now :-0 :-0 :-0 Will have to have a look.

The sheppards pie and cabbage went down a treat tonight, and not a great deal of washing up.

I wouldn't have thought Dogs would get the taste for conkers, I know as a kid, when making the hole you sometimes caught your finger and sucked it. The taste of conkers was horrible.!!!

Trust the work will get done fairly quickly Jane and you will get back to normal soon,

I see we still have LIZ with us.

Lewis is on the phone,

So Bye

Jane Report 18 Oct 2012 21:58

Frank I haven't even started thinking of buying Christmas presents yet.Just one pressie bought (the camera for Hannah).Janice and I decided last year to stop buying presents for eachother and OH's.I will give a money present for Finn,Amelia and now dear little William.
As for the work here ,they said it would maybe take about 3 weeks from when they start.
Chris and James have both gone to bed so it is just me and the dawg.He has just had a pill for his itchies so will be asleep pretty soon lol.
I have been watching The Choir.(for the first time) why haven't I watched it before??? it's brilliant!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Oct 2012 22:09

I just watched the choir too Jane. Or should I say listened to it. I was having a game of cards on the pc.

I love jigsaws too and still have loads that I bought for mum which were too expensive to part with. I know Ros likes a jigsaw too. Trouble with me is I just can't leave them alone!!

Off now to watch a bit of telly. Well find something on the catchup so will say night night now and see you all in the morning God willing. As mum used to say.............

O and another thing that can block a dog up is sugar. My alsatian soemtimes had the sugar bowl off the work surface. Came in one day and sugar was all over the floor. Not good..........

The Ha*vesters are good aren't they. When he was based at Burton I would meet OH at the one on the A5 near Nuneaton on footie nights. It saved him time driving another 12 miles home to have to go back again for the match. I loved the 'help yourself' salad bar and was usually still eating mine when they brought the next course!!

Poor old Mocha, I hope he leaves whatever upset his tum well alone now. It must be hard to keep track of what they are getting their noses into!! :-S

I read about the 'truffle' dog Mandy. lol He would certainly pay for his keep with the amount he's been finding. Yes OH did lock me out in the back garden a while ago, then recently left the front door unlocked overnight. I'm not making it up.......but today when he got home he asked if I'd been in the shed. 'No' I said.....'why?'. He looked sheepish and said 'It must have been unlocked for a few days then!!!!!!' lol. :-0

I love jigsaws too and the last few years have started buying one to do over Christmas. I don't think I got round to doing last year's though so will be able to do it this year. :-D I always used to send a Christmas jigsaw to an american penfriend called Vinette. We corresponded for 17 years from when I was 16 and she was 72 till she died aged 89.

Jewellery class tomorrow.....a complicated looking bracelet ......maybe I should have had carrots today!! Night, night......zzzZZZZZ :-)

Morning everyone,

What a dreary old morning ,it was drizzling when we got up but stopped now ,one job i wanted to do today was the floors , but i think if i wash them they will take forever to dry , carn't use the steam mop as son has borrowed it .

Hope it keeps dry for the Evacuee's going to the coast , son has emailed a photo of Jake ,will send it later .

Oh Ann LOL hubby has done better than that with the our shed ....not only did he leave it unlocked but left the keys in the door too !!!!
Looking forward to seeing the bracelet .

Change of plan again for tonight ,DIL has a tummy bug so they are not coming !!
Son is still doing well not smoking , when i spoke to him he said he just doesn't want one .....these tablets seem to be really helping him , he went to see the nurse yesterday and she gave him enough for a month , i think he said its three months on the tablets altogether .

Coffee time . BBL

I am looking forward to seeing Jake in his outfit Mandy. It is just a very dull and cloudy morning here.I hope it does stay dry for the trip.

I was watching a funny little Weasel or Stoat earlier. It looked a young one and was running to and fro across the lawn.It looked a bit confused and didn't seem to know where it was going lol

I need to get some strength up to climb up on to the worktops as I must clean the top of the cupboards.I am dreading the state of them, especially the one over the cooker :-S.

Joan gets her new cooker today and she is getting herself a little bet het up.She has had the one she has now for 30 odd years and is used to it.Having to learn to use something new at 91 must be a bit of a worry :-S

Coffee now
