Evening All,
Yes, what a windy day and dark so early too.
Mel, that's what I do if I get up in the night.......have a peek outside through the window to see if anything is about!
Jane, you will have to stop shouting above the noise now or Chester will be putting his paws over his ears. The Royal Ma*l will be looking for xmas posties soon! :-D I do envy Hannah her trip to Peru. I really fancied going there years ago. Not fit enough now though and I would hate the heat and creepy crawlies......definitely wouldn't dare sleep if I was there!!!! lol
I don't think I would have liked to be Ros, Carmel or Shirl with their treatments this week and that's an awful lot of holes William!! It sounds more like a 'join the dots. picture they were making.
I've had another lazy day today, every time I eat I could go to sleep!! I sorted out my new berry branches in the vase. Then I decided to dust off the old ones with an old toothbrush and I've ended up putting those back with them as well!! I replaced just a few of the wispy grassy bits to soften it and it looks great now.
William I think that Servants programme has been very interesting. As you say, there was just as much knowing your place downstairs!!

Silence is Golden :-D :-D.My head actually feels a bit buzzy because there is no noise now.(If that makes sense).Maybe the brain will take a bit of adjusting lol
If I wake in the night ,I also go and have a look out the windows.I don't know quite what I'm looking for though lol.Not a lot to see around here.
Yes hopefully James might get some Xmas work.I must give him a nudge to get searching.
Away with a Flea in your ear was another common saying. But I can't quite remember why it was said now.Was it that you sent someone away with a flea in their ear?
I feel quite bushed tonight so think I will bid you all farewell for now. I hope we all have a good nights kip tonight :-D

Well I turned on Tele to watch the football. The pitch is covered in water and it's raining so hard, If they play tonight I will eat my hat. !!!
Ann, SNAP. After my bacon sarnie this morning I read my book, and lazed around. I had a bowl of soup at 12.30. then read my book. I was just making a cup of tea at 3.30. when Ros came in. We had a cuppa and a cake. She watched tele, while I was on computer. F & C van called 6.30. Very nice is was too. Now in dressing gown.
Jane, Glad Fitz is home O.K. Ros doesn't go for biopsy till Friday. I keep saying autopsy !!!!. What do you think the builders will start first?? Walls I would expect.
Do you think I would be O.K. doing postmans duties for xmas???, They would have to deliver the mail here so I could walk or hobble round the village.!!! Get me out from under her feet for a while each day. Or am I dreaming ????
It's an absolute farse in Poland. The referee is trying to bounce the ball in all the water . Now gone off the pitch again. They can't play in this. !!!

Frank oh was talkingabout that match saying they had the pitch covered over for a long while to keep it dry and then they uncovered it and it fell out the sky!! He was laughing about it.
Jane good to have Fitz back again and glad he enjoyed his hols. You won't know where you are with all the noise gone now. Hope they get hte work done quickly for you.
Poor Carmel she does sound like she has been used as a pin cushion. I hope she heals soon and I know you will be looking after her well as you always do.
Done a lot of ironing here today and washing as we had another lovely day and just a tiny shower when I brought the washing in it stopped!! I put it in the dryer though as I did'nt want to tempt fate.
Pork chops for dinner with cauli cheese left over from yesterday and bubble and squeak, mushrooms and apple sauce. Creme brulea for afters................mmmmmm :-D

Frank I have no idea what work will start first.I am just desperate to have a proper floor again.
Cup of tea and toast now and then I'll get a load of washing hung out.

Afternoon All,
It lashed down in the night here.........luckily dry again now and that wind has dropped thank goodness.
I've picked the last of the beans this morning and cooked down another panful of tomatoes with peppers. I did a panful of our onions to go with the seived tomatoes and peppers but they need to cool first. I've even cleaned the microwave as well and given the trays for our knees a good scrub!
We are off to a garden centre next as they have sent us a voucher, 2 courses and a drink for two for £10. :-D I hope they have the chicken and leek pie on!! :-D

Maureen .I hope you have a wonderful holiday and that the weather will be good :-D

Well I am finally here. Could not get on earlier.
Ros had a bad night with her leg again, She didn't get to sleep till after 3 00 am. I was up 7.30. I let her sleep in, as nothing pressing on today. She came out at 10.45 and complained that I had not woken her. CAN'T WIN. can I.????
She sttiped the bed this morning AGAIN. got it in washing machine, when the phone rang. Carolyn, Are you coming out today ??? Can a duck swim !!! So I was left to put out the sheets pillowcases, Hankies. I put a load of coloureds in, they have jusr finished, so they are now on the line. Socks and panties, pants over the rads. Towels now in, and when done they go into the tumble dryer. My a Mans work is never done !!!
Great morning out there today, I walked to the doctors for the Prescriptions, three bags full, plus Ros's Patches (controled drug, so had to sign for those) I checked on my blod results. All fine.
They are not now. Just had another of those Bl####y phone calls. May I speak to the SK# account holder. I told him to get stuffed and not to ring this no. He went on to say Why are you abuseing me. I said If I could get my hands on you, you would know what abuse is !!!! The blood is thumping through my body, and I daren't think what my heart rate is. He then said "GOODBYE HAVE A NICE DAY" Basta##. I know I should just put the phone down, but I can't
He's just rang back, I put the phone down !!!!

Afternoon all,
It lashed rain here all night too Ann. I usually sleep with the windows on night vent but I had to get up and close them fully. It's a dormer window on the front bedroom so it always sounds worse. It woke me up a couple of times.
Spent a couple of hours in the garden this morning, and like that football pitch, the lawn was soaking wet even though it was a bright morning. I've got all my fuschias out of the planters and potted them up and put them in my mini-greenhouse. I'll get some cardboard boxes when we go shopping and see if I can't save them over the winter for next year. I failed last year because it was so harsh, even though I had them all cosied up. I borrowed the lass next doors green wheelie as ours is already full. I've been hacking away at stuff left right and centre and cut the hypericum right back. So that's another bin full for Friday morning! Come November and it won't be fit to go in the garden. Carmel has gone for an afternoon rest, she is still very sore, bless her.
Frrank, don't let 'em wind you up or get you down. I just put the phone down and smugly walk away. You could always tell them they've got through to the police station and did they want to report a crime. I did that once and they soon vanished. Better still, thell them they're through to the STI clinic, bet they soon disappear then LOL

Hi, I love Portwenn, I think we all do. Was down there is June, Loved it. Welcome to our thread (SORRY) not really ours, but you know what I mean.
I remember those smelling salts, If you got a football between your legs !!!! they use to swipe those back and forth under your nose, If that didn't bring you round nothing would.
My wife loved Parma violets, can you still get them.??? I will have to treat her.
Good idea Will, I like the STI clinic, but would the indians know what we meant, also we get a lot of calls from the Phillipines !!!
Washing all in and folded up ready for Ros to iron.
She's just rand to say John (70 today) and Carolyn have invited us out to the Harvester this evening for a meal. Will have to get shower and shaved, after the football.
See you later

O have a nice time tonight Frank. Yes you can still get Parma Violets. I love them too. Remember the Trebor factory? When I worked at the PDSA you smell when they were making the parma violets and the mints. Wonderful smells both.
Welcome I Love Portwenn, where do you live please?

I think my Nana had smelling salts but not totally sure about that.I loved the smell of Mums powder compact and the little puff.
Frank your friends have been ringing me today.4 times so far :-S :-S :-S :-S I just don't pick the phone up now.If it is someone who wants me they will start to leave a message and I can then just pick up. Have had a bit of a big dust and hoovering session this afternoon. It was so bad :-SI know it isn't going to be clean here for weeks to come, but I had to do something about it.At least we don't have those fans blowing all the muck around now.
I was watching the Green Woodpecker on the lawn just now.It was having a great feast :-D Tomorrow I think Chris is home all day so I will have use of a car :-D :-D :-D.Yippee!

I bought some Parma Violets last year at the garden centre. It was at the time when a lot of old style sweeties were back on the shelves.I think Spangles and Love Hearts were there too.I wasn't impressed with the modern words though on the Love Hearts. They should have stuck to the original ones. :-|
Frank that was a nice surprise to be invited out for a meal tonight. No cooking or washing up for you :-D. James is going to have Southern Fried Chicken and Crispy Potatoes. We are having Pasta and sauce(with my usual mushrooms and pancetta bits) and Garlic Bread.Chris won't be home until 7 so I don't need to start anything yet. Watching come dine with me now.
I wonder if Maureen will become a Grandma again while she is away????I'm getting quite jealous with all these Grandchildren being born :-S.......One day I might be a Grandma. Not yet though eh!
What is on the Box tonight?Anything interesting?
