Evening all,
X factor on, so i'm out of the way for the duration. !!!
Just read about my sausage dream. I see why you had a chuckle !!!
Ann, I looked at the "SAUSAGE DREAM" it does seem a strange dream to have. Mind you thinking about it, yesterday morning I cooked a couple of sausages for a sandwich. I cut them down the middle, to get crispy bits, so that's where the sausage meat came from !!! Your OH certainly gets around with his football team. Why doesn't he go in the team coach, or do they make their own wat there as well ???
They say there is an answer to every dream.
Jane, When are you BOOKING into Barton Hall ???
Yesterday when we had the big black cloud and rainbow. Northampton had a "CATS AND DOGS" storm. Water running down the streets etc. Martine was telling Ros today. Also one of her Labs, is going blind. The other dogs seem to sense it and he follows them around the house and out walking. She has two Labs and one Labrapoddle.
Mandy, good news about your BIL. I suppose it will take time to get back to his old self.
Will, You didn't miss anything last night. If they play like that against Poland, we will see a different score line. !!!
I had my MOD badge turn up this morning, with a certificate. I will put that away for Lewis with my RAF medal. I am at present bidding on a veterians lapel badge also.
Good ol Shirl, feeding the monsters over the weekend. I bet they are good company at their ages, and help around the house ;-) ;-) ;-) OR NOT.
See you in the morning

Morning all and evening Kim,
A lovely bright morning today and it is showing up all the dust and dirt :-S
Oh turned the heating on this morning as he said after he had been up about two and a half hours there was frost on the decking.
Think I need to go round with the hover and a duster and then shower and wash my hair.
Anyone doing anything nice today??

Morning Mel and all and Evening Kim
Mel we had a frost this morning too. That has gone pretty quickly.Just wall to wall blue now and it's smashing. I spent an hour with Joan just now talking about all the things we talked about yesterday :-S :-S.Probably have the same chat tomorrow lol
The most exciting thing I will be doing is buying my new ironing board. How thrilling is that. The plumber said he will come around lunchtime to see what he needs to do to the radiator.(I thought he was actually going to fix it yesterday) Crossed wires I think.
Frank Barton Hall closed down as a Home for the Elderly many years ago.It has been used as Art Studios for some years but has now been sold .I think it is going to be a Hotel !
No roast today. It will be the Moussaka that I got in M&S with various veg.
Now I will have a look at the Argo* site and see what ironing boards are available in our store. BBL

Hope you find a good one Jane. My ironing boards was a wedding present in 1969 and still going strong. Had many new covers and foam over the years but my aunty iris bought it for me.
I have just looked in one of my drawers in oh's study (which used to be my study) and there in the front shining up at me was one of my grandads medals still with it's ribbon on. It is a gold coloured one with a pic of an angel on it.The other side says The Great War for Civilistion 1914 - 1919. It has his name stamped around the edge.

Mel, have you checked the belt ??? Also the brush bar. ????
Morning all,
As you say Jane, wall to wall sunshine here also. Haven't been outside yet.
Had a funny old night. Woke myself up talking, I was reporting a crime locally and talking away to this policeman. Ros never heard me. Don't know what I might say !!! I wokw about 6.30 with the song "On Mother Kell'y Doorstep" pounding through my head. I can't get rid of it this morning. Do you think I need certifing.???? Quiet in CANADA> !!!!
Got all the dinner ready for tonigh and read the paper. DOOM AND GLOOM, everywhere you looI see now that non europeans are going into Romania and buying passports for 100 euros so they can get to Britain. Where is it all going to stop ????
Ann, How did OHs team get on yesterday ???
Who is Kane, Have I missed someone ??? Sorry Mel !!! What a nice surprise to find a medal like that. They are usually tucked away in a box at the back of a draw. You must pin it to your coat for rememberance day. I bet Will. will have his worn with pride.
I tent to watch the parade on BBC, and always have tears in my eyes as the play all the old marching songs, and to see the old Soldiers marching by with all the pride they can muster, who can't be moved by it. I think this is the reason I don't join the parade at the local church.
Nothing excitting happening here today. I will read my book and ros might do a bit of patchwork, or jewellery making. OR I might sling from the chandelier to break the monotony :-D :-D :-D I suppose a morning like this I aught to get my big coat on and go for a walk down the Canal. I fact that's what I will do after a coffee.

Any excuse Mel not to do the hoovering ;-) ;-).Not nice though with a stinky ,smoky hoover.Sounds like you will be digging deep in your pocket for a new one. I have my new board :-D.But will not be using it today. That will be tomorrows treat :-S
Frank I love hearing of peoples dreams.I have really whacky ones.Always have and probably always will lol.My Sister never remembers her dreams.I uses to keep a record of my dreams but have no idea where the notebook is now.
When I was with Joan this morning .I asked her what she was going to be doing today. She then started telling me (as it was Sunday ) she probably wouldn't do much .She was telling me as a child she was never allowed to play out on a Sunday not even bounce a ball.So I told her about our thread and all our memories .I might get her to tell me more of her Childhood when I go tomorrow morning. It will be something different for her to chat about.I love talking to elderly people. They have so many tales to tell. One of my favourite part of Nursing was with the elderly. I often got told off by'Sister' for spending too much time chatting instead of doing my other duties. But they loved to have someone to talk to.Some patients never had anyone to have a blether with when they were at home.(Bit like Joan really)
The Plumber rang to say he is going to be late.I'm not going anywhere so it's not a problem. Chris has just gone to Rushden (waitro**) to pick up a new Microwave and a camera .Microwave to replace mine which is going a bit dodgy and the Camera for Hannah for Xmas. She will need one for Peru in the summer :-D Must get washing out of the machine now.

Plumber has just been and gone.Hopefully I will get the quote tomorrow so can email it on to the insurance people.Plumber was late as he had a problem with missing teenage daughter last night. She was brought home by the police this morning!!!!.I didn't ask any questions.KIDS!!!!!
Mel is it all your long hair that has caused the problem with the hoover. I know when Jess has been or Hannah. when I hoover, the Dyso* is full of their hair :-S Also the plughole in the bath :-S I hate pulling it all out (it makes me gag sometimes)
The sun seems to have gone for the day now.But we can't complain as it has been sooo nice. I can't believe we are now into the middle of October !!!.I know we say it each year ,but where does the time go???? It's too scary :-S

Afternoon everyone,
We decided to take our selves off to the coast ( Wells) with the family this morning we went early as it said on the weather we would get rain ......we haven't had a drop !!! It was a bit on the chilly side ,i wish i had taken my gloves and a scarf ,but a brisk trot and we warm up , the little ones will sleep well tonight with the sea air . There was a group of walkers went passed us ,my goodness they were nearly running ,they must have been seasoned walkers as some were in shorts !!! :-S We had a fish and chip lunch , and Frank ...i bought a lovely big Crab for our tea :-D It will go down a treat with some bread and butter . The children were chattering all the way there and back , i had to smile when Chelsea said this is our holiday day , we went passed a town and she said whats that white building ? it might be the airport as planes are white !! ...i don't know where she thought we were going :-D
Well your ironing board is doing well Mel, i thought mine had lasted well when i threw it out this year ,mine was a wedding present in 1976!!! i bought my new one from Tes*o's , i don't think it will last as long my old one . Perhaps your hover just needs a new belt Mel, they stink when they burn out .

Sounds like you have had a lovely day Mandy :-DI always think sea air (when you aren't used to it) makes you tired.I always remember my Aunty Elizabeth from Moffat in Scotland when she came to stay with us in Plymouth saying how the sea air made her sleep well. She was always yawning lol.I think there is nothing nicer than that clean fresh air that comes off the sea. Enjoy your Crab tonight.I wish I liked crab as it looks lovely but I just can't eat it :-S.I think i said a long time ago that my Sister is allergic to crab.Even if a tiny bit of crab was to pass her lips she would be very ill.
I just nipped out to check my neighbours house and pick up mail.It feels really chilly now.Mind you I am wearing a thin cheese clothy top(you could spit peas through ). They never mentioned if I need to feed the fish in the pond. The fish food is there but I don't know whether to feed them or not.Maybe I will chuck a handful in tomorrow. They did seem near the top of the water which makes me think they still need feeding.
Where is Pat? I'm wondering how her teeth are now ,and hope her mouth isn't too sore anymore.

Yes Mel, I've got a Dyson Rollerball and it's brilliant! really easy to use and kind to your back!! I'd thoroughly recommend one! Dishwasher working well! I've got a Beko slimline, (much better than my 'old' Zannussi), with a half load prog and a 30 min prog which seem very useful. Ironing board!!! mine was a present from my mother when I was first married in 1964!!! It's seen a lot of use in the last 49 years, though, not any more, I haven't actually used it for over a year! so it just sits as a museum piece! but I wouldn't get rid of it, reminds me of how we were all those years ago. Lovely day today OH is off to Somerset tomorrow to pick up a few odds and bobs that we left behind. I shall stay her and just pickle about with Millie and Merlin!

Afternoon All,
A lovely sunny day again here, washing all dry. I had a great sleep right through till 7.00am this morning. I heard the chap over the road scraping frost off his car and went back to sleep for another hour. :-D
OH drove to Hinckley and went in the minibus from there this time (not enough of them to fill a coach). He prefers driving himself to matches as some of the drivers are not good which isn't pleasant if you are a passenger. Last night he got home with a blinding headache. When he drives himself he takes a bottle of water and can stop off at services for the loo when he wants. Not so easy in the minibus, but it is cheaper that way. His team were in the lead at one point, but lost by the final whistle. OH thinks they will drop a peg this year, which won't be bad news for me as there will be new places I can go to with him. When I used to have sausages I'd cut them down the middle to brown and crisp that bit too.
The little lizard is lovely Mel and how nice to have Hedgy visit for his supper! We don't get any now since the pond disaster! :-0 I have often made meals with bits and bobs like that. I still use packet soups as a sauce sometimes. It's funny, I never realised baked beans caused a wind problem for some people till I got married!! I can eat a big tinful and not have any problem. Onions hardly affect me either.........
Mandy, shorts!! They must have been hardy souls. I bet it was nice walking in the sunshine though. Frank will be jealous of your crab!!
All we did today was have a look around Li*l after lunch. We got a box of 24 of those shell pralines, only about £1.79 and OH likes their Brie and the chicken and bacon pasta they do.
I've been meaning to get a new ironing board for ages. OH uses it most and has it higher than me, but a bit of the welding has broken and it wobbles!! I put it away in the porch cupboard and keep meaning to measure the space so a new one would fit in there too. I must start a list of all these things that need sorting.
