Evening all,
Cloudy old day here today and now it's looking like it might rain .
Maureen ,thank you the post came this morning now i just need son to come and sort them for me.
Hubby's not very happy ,he's been waiting all day for a new battery to come for the van ,finally they rang and said it was in ,and that was at four o'clock !!!
BIL is not very well, sister had to have the doctor in to see him, he's not eating ,he's been sleeping so much which is not like him at all , he's been feeling sick too,and feeling really weak , the doctor checked him over , he thinks he might have an infection of some sort ,but he's not sure where the infection is !! he said its not the new knee that's fine ,so that was a relief for him ,the poor man has been through so much lately .
It's lovely looking back at the old video's ,we have our wedding on a video, we really need to have it put onto a CD ,it started off on Cine film !!!
You getting told off Frank !! :-D it doesn't seem to be easy to delete things on the Gene's tree ,that why i gave up on here and have mine on Ancest*y
I'am glad to see i'am not the only one who puts a blanket over the dog to keep him warm !! hubby says i'm to soft ,but they feel the cold too. Lets hope that what ever they both have they keep to them selves Jane or your in for a good weekend !!!!!
Looking forward to seeing what Ann has made in class today .

I had an email this morning from Kim.Lovely animal one :-D
David I don't know how much Cleaners charge these days.I would have thought £7/8 is quite cheap these days. Are you thinking of having one?Good idea :-D
James has gone now to get Jess.He thinks she got an earlier train .So I have whacked a Turkey Breast in the oven and will just do some Potato Wedges and peas. I can't imagine they will be wanting to eat late if they are both feeling under the weather. Chris will be eating out tonight. He has to go to a quiz evening with the girls from work. They will be having Curry. It is one of these team building Moral boosting things. It is not his kind of thing (the quiz bit) but he cannot get out of going.
Mel sorry about your old Bantam :-(.Was it the one you thought?
We haven't heard from Pat either lately.Has she gone away again?

Evening All,
Jane, I have a streaming cold now after the sore throat, red nose and snuffles..........hope you don't catch anything from James/Jess over the weekend!! :-S Put a mask on and get the wipes out!! lol. I hope Fiona sounded a bit perkier this time with the news of her appointment next week and glad she liked the flowers you kindly sent to her.
Went to MIL's this afternoon. They have given her some antiseptic stuff to rub all over her body and hair, then wash off before she goes in for her operation presumably so she doesn't take any bugs into hospital. I despair sometimes, she has decided she needs to have the hairdresser come and do her hair the day before she goes in (why I hear you ask......me too?) so what she is going to do is do her hair with the stuff one day and her body the next!! :-S I would have thought you needed to do everything at once otherwise the bit you don't do could contaminate the bit you have done by the next day, if you get my drift. :-S
Sorry your BIL has had a setback Mandy, let's hope it is quick and easy to sort out. As you say, he has had a really rough time of it.
That's good Shirl......2 monsters working. :-D Will there be another uniform photo?
This looks quite useful re cleaners David. I hadn't thought about the position re breakages.
http://www.ourproperty.co.uk/guides/domestic_cleaning_services-p1.html
I think I'd like someone to have a blitz on the cleaning. I said to MIL today that I wasn't really 'housewife' material and preferred doing other things than the house and cooking. OH said afterwards that she had looked a bit horrified, as if she thought I wasn't looking after her son! :-0 Well, she does everything for hubby, even stirs his tea and always has....... :-0
Maureen, I would have missed WDYTYA even if it had been on.......keep forgetting to record things lately. I hope the weather is good for your holiday, we expected the worst when we went to Cornwall and it changed to glorious as soon as we set off.
I have homework to do to finish my necklace from today, another one with needle and thread! Next week I am tempted to take some little silver fish charms I have as we are doing a necklace or bracelet using gemstone chips........mine can be 'fish and chips!' :-D
Off to bed now......OH has his flu jab tomorrow at the supermarket and it is an early appointment.

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Well the sun is shining today and the sky is blue with mackeral clouds here and there. I wonder how long it will last?????????
Frank you clever boy you have got rid of the mess at the top of your tree. Take five house points!!
Now we shall have to tell you how to get the right people on it past Horace. First I have a few things to do.
Ann I like the idea of "Fish and Chips" sounds good to me and can't wait to see it. :-D :-D What did you do this week?
Must have a bowl of cereal now and take my pills.
Had my flu jab yesterday but the other appointment should have been a fasting blood test and I had had a cup of tea so they would'nt do it. I now have to go back next week.......bum!

I keep forgetting to tel you that we had a deer chased by a dog run through the top of the garden last week and out the archway into the garden. Oh said it was a young one. They have beagles over the big house and they are always chasing foxes and things. They are a blimmin nuisance barking all the time even if they smell a fox in the night.
Then the day before yesterday at about 8.15pm oh went out for a ciggy and called me and there on the back grass by the new pond was a hedgehog. he came right near the house by oh's pond and worked his way round the garden and back again. I watched it for ages. We did see it yesterday breifly but only the once.

Ann you look after that cold of yours.I heard James up several times in the night blowing his nose like a trumpet and coughing :-S.I have told him to steer clear of me lol
Well I am going to hang some sheets out and then do a shopping list . I got some Pansies the other day that need to go in the pots at the front so will get that done this afternoon.
Mel ,are those Beagles at the big house used for Hunting?I hope they don't get that little Deer. How do the dogs manage to get through into yours?

Morning all, nice and sunny after all the rain last night. Will I get out in the garden and fill up the green wheelie bin once more?
The novel I'm reading got me to thinking about what things are called in different places around this country. The book rfers to 'mashing tea', but where I come from in London it was a 'brew'. It wasn't till I went in the RAF in the 50's that I became fascinated by the differnce around the country to how things are said. I'd never been further north than Colchester and finding myself in billets full of lads like me from all over Britain was an education itself, as was travelling from camp to camp around the country. Same when I moved to the Midlands on my demob. Where I come from, it ws 'bread rolls', here it's 'batches', a few miles across the border in Leicestershire & Derbyshire, it 'cobs'. When I first heard 'batches', I said, no I only want ONE! When in Scottish cafe one time I asked what a 'bridey' was only to find out it was I knew as a pasty. Also there was a lad in one billet who came from Bradford, which he pronounced 'Brat'ford'. As anyone else got any tales to add to this theme, I'm sure you have. Mind you, I think TV soaps etc have broadcast different meanings far and wide these days. Me, - I'm off to a 'sarnie'. (oh, that reminds me, when I first came here I heard Mums asking their youngsters if they wanted a 'piecy' - = sandwich!) Have a good day...

Morning All,
Yes, lovely sunshine again, but I still feel a bit grim for doing much outside, which is a pity, as it is a good day for outside jobs. I think I will finish my necklace instead........it wouldn't look out of place on Downton Mel! It has dangling bits hanging the full length of the main row, all reds and purples. Will send a pic when it's done. That's a nuisance you have to go back for your blood test.......it is so easy to forget and have a cuppa though........I know I have nearly done it.
There is a little craft fair at my old junior school in the city today, so I might toddle off to that for an hour. There might be nowhere to park there though as there is only street parking around it but it would be nice to just see what the school looks like inside now! It's about 55 years since I was last there. lol.

Good morning you cheeriy lot, !!
Makes a difference with a bit of SUN. Clear sky's here and no wind. Haven't been out yet so don't know if it's cold or warm.
Ros has just gone of to meet Martine She's late today, Martine has been to the hairdressers.
I had my starvation bloods done this week, and while I was there she gave me my FLU jab. We were suppose to go Yesterday, so saved a trip.
I like the "FISH AND CHIPS" Ann, you are a bit sharp today, mind you don't cut yourself :-D :-D :-D
I have just STUCK my STARS in my book. !!! Now waiting in anticipation for my next lesson.
Jane, Did you go down the the Church in Barton Seagrave or Cranford ?? I had a painting of Barton church from the field that goes up to Barton Road. You know the one, the steep slope that goes down to the side of the Church. If they haven't built on it. :-0 :-0 :-0
Mel, we have been getting regular visits from the hedgehogs, our front lawn is covered in their calling cards. Ros has been putting little bits of fat of the meat and bacon out at night. It's always gone by morning, with more "little thank you notes" in place of the tit bits !!! I would love to see a little deer in the wild. The last ones I saw were at Gayton, but that is more in the Country.
Will, I understand what you mean, about Slang. I traveled from London to Manchester, to Wilts, Norfolk. and everything was refered to as different things. Nothing comes to mind at the moment, but no doubt will.
Hows our Kim and Shirl ??? I keep saying I will SKYPE Shirl, but never seem to get around to it.
Well I'm off for my shower, and get dressed.
Be back for my next lesson soon !!!
Ann, Hope your cold clears up soon, they are horrible this time of year, seem to hang around for ever. That will cheer you up :-D :-D :-D

Frank I went to Cranford. But I know the path you mean leading to the steep field by St Botolphs Church. You will be pleased to know ..no buildings. It is just as you remember :-D
What is the Fish and Chip thing...I must have missed that post.
William it was Bread Rolls or Baps for us.When I was on holiday in Northumberland they had Stotties .Like big Baps.I seem to recall Baps being a name used too for Ladies boobs lol We always let the tea 'Brew'.I was always being told not to leave it too long in the pot otherwise it would be 'Stewed'.
What a lovely sunny afternoon. It has really warmed up a treat now.Chris is cutting the grass.I wonder how many more times it will be done this year. I bet there will be a few last BBQ's going on today in peoples back gardens.
Fitz has gone to Pembrokshire for 10 days. His OH and Sons bought him a holiday in a remote cottage on the cliffs somewhere there .He should have gone back in May but because of his Kidney op he had to cancel and rebook. It is his favourite part of the country. He lived and worked there many many years ago and likes to go back every few years.I have a feeling it looks over Fishguard. I hope he gets some decent weather .His youngest son and his fiancee are going to join him for a few nights later in his stay. I wonder how his Mother will be with him not visiting her for so long??.I think she is getting weaker physically as she doesn't eat much and refuses to use her legs.I don't know how long it will be before she has to leave hospital and go into residential care.I think she has to have an assessment first.
We have some beautiful Roses blooming again in the garden. One of them is my Mum's .A lovely yellow one.But only ever has 2 flowers.
I hope we are all enjoying this brilliant sunshine today. Also that Fiona is feeling a little more positive now she had her appointment in just a few days :-D
Kim,still no you :-(...........I hope you are alright and will be back with us soon <3

Mandy ,that is shocking about the Milk :-0 :-0 :-0.I still have a doorstep delivery.I often think and know it would be a lot cheaper just buying it at Tes**as i am there so often .But we both feel we need to help the poor milkman keep his job.
Have you had the Philadelph** on the chicken before? I keep seeing the advert for it and have some of that in the fridge. We are having Chicken Breasts tonight and I was just going to wrap pancetta around asparagus and Chicken.I think I will ask the others if they fancy it with Philly.
Have cleared out the front big pots and planted the Pansies.Picked the last of the runner beans as Chris was pulling the wigwams down.My right thumb is now swollen and stabbing :-S.It hurts... :-|. I always think it strange it is my right thumb which is the worst as I am left handed.
Oh My Goodness.Chris has just banged on the window and said he is off for a walk!!!!!He must be on a health kick lolol
