Jane Report 21 Jun 2012 17:59

Just home from the hairdressers.Ooh I do love having it washed by someone else. But I am itchy now as I think some hair has found it's way into my bra,so that will be coming off now.
Frank I did wonder if I missed something and had agreed to take Ros to MK lol.I guessed you meant Jan .I must have been on your mind ;-)

Maureen yes the paper is for the kitchen. But now I can't see that being done for some time :-S :-S.Chris is like a bear with a sore head :-| :-|He will be mithering about the damp now.I can see this being a major job (knowing our luck).I wonder if you have a leaky pipe under the floor.I do wish we had someone we knew who we could call to come and have a look at our problem.
Life is sent to try us sometimes isn't it :-S.

Hannah will be here just after 8.Kim I spent forever cleaning the main bathroom this morning.James is the only one who uses it.It was manky :-S
Now it is sparking :-D :-D
Why is it that when men wee it seems to spray everywhere :-S :-S.Someone told me to get a plastic fly and float it in the loo men would just aim at that (like a target) I might just try that lolol

It has been so humid here too Mandy.Quite sticky and uncomfortable when scubbing that flipping bathroom and then Ironing.
Mel I haven't finished my pile either.Tomorrow is another day :-D

Jane Report 21 Jun 2012 18:03

Jane, i was telling hubby about the damp problem ,he said to ask you how old the property is ?
It might be rising damp!! if the building was built before 1930 it might not have a damp coarse built in to it .
After 1930 they had a slate damp coarse built in .

Can you take a photo and hubby will have a look ,also is it a cavity wall or is it a solid wall?

Frank

Frank Report 21 Jun 2012 20:52

Mandy Don't forget to charge a consultation fee lol lol.

Has been very muggy here also, While watching the football the wind has stating to get up.It might blow the clouds away.

2nd half just started.

Evening All,

Rising Damp was one of my favourite tv programmes........loved Leonard Rossiter in it and 'Miss Jones'. lol

Oh dear Jane, I hope you can sort the cause of the damp easily. At least these days with rising damp they can often sort it without removing a layer of bricks!!!! Hope your son sorts your leak out too Maureen. I had one in a cupboard under the sink a few years ago and didn't notice till it had soaked into some packets of soap powder and paper towels....what a mess!

I have to be up early tomorrow......the plumber who put the problem toilet in is coming to have a look!

We've both felt shattered today after a busy day yesterday. I think this muggy weather doesn't help, all your limbs feel so heavy!! lol. Our house insurance is up for renewal so I did some comparisons on the internet, then rang our current insurers to check how much their renewal would be. It was only £2 more than last year which wasn't bad, but in the end I managed to get the same policy for £30 less than last year!! :-D

I went along to the meeting about the 4000 houses they are going to build after all. What an awful meeting, if OH had come he would have been tutting as the Chair didn't even introduce herself or the other two she was with!! :-D It appears they are going to make no right turns to 2 of the important roads in the village which will cause traffic chaos forcing the lorries as well as cars through more of the village and past the school. This road already has half mile queues at each end now at peak times. Every person in each house has to submit their objections. Apparently if you just give your views without using the word 'objection' it doesn't get counted as an objection!

Mandy .Will try and take some pic tomorrow.Busy day though with Hannah.
Both kids back home now! We have just finished eating and are just about ready to hit the sack.I will hardly be able to drag myself upstairs lol I feel that tired.
Ann,you are going through the same thing we did with OBJECTIONS.The plan here is for 5,000 houses across the way
:-S :-S
I can't talk anymore tonight so am off to bed .Will be back tomorrow sometime.
Night Night xx

Morning/Evening All,

Having trouble page wise again and getting the Error page!

Frank

Frank Report 22 Jun 2012 10:52

Where are you all,

What a PIG of a morning, strong wind and rain. Black as hell, needs the lights on. And this is summer !!!!

When we bought the second shop in the village, it was in a real state. the whole roof space was full of straw, from roof to floor. It had been from the birds over 100 years nesting. There was no DAMP PROOFING The builder drilled holes all around the property 2nd brick up and squirted a damp proofing liquid into the holes. That might be the answer to your problem JANE.

Ros, couldn't get any shoes yesterday, so got the money back. She will have a word with Julia, to see if it's allright to buy some others.

Hope you are all well, see you later

Dull and windy and wet at times here today.

Jane hope you are rested now after a busy day yesterday. Hope the damp is'nt too serious as it can get expensive. Just as well you have found it now and not after the new wallpapering.

Need to go and get chicken food today and a birthday pressy for Di my friend. It is her birthday on mid summers day. more like mid autumn here...................

How long is Hannah staying Jane?

Bantam Ginger has just come out and I had a look at her eggs under a bush. They are chipping so we let her get back and got the ark ready. Caught her up and handed her to oh then picked up the eggs, one of which had about three quazarters of an inch of shell broken away. Popped the eggs in and then her with a bit of trouble but managed to get her in the nest box. we have shut her in there on the eggs so will now leave her all day and look later on this evening to see if ay have hatched.

Annx Report 22 Jun 2012 12:26

Afternoon All,

Wind and rain here too!! It's relentless and we are fetching bark chips this afternoon for OH to put on FIL's garden! (before he changes his mind again! :-S), so I hope it eases later. Afterwards we are using our other G*rden Club voucher for the cream tea for two. :-D

With a bit of a struggle and cuts to his arm the plumber has sorted the toilet. At one point it was sat in the front porch!! lol Luckily he could reach so didn't have to break any tiles. OH was a bit sharp with him, but I glared at him so he went in the study and stayed there. lol It was a good job too as another good outcome is that the plumber has a big collection of alpines and is giving me a load of plants for around the waterfall. He said he'd leave them at the front door when he's next this way. :-D :-D

I hope the CAB give Hannah some good advice.........I would have thought she could pay by instalments? Jane, they mentioned at the meeting that 15000 new houses are planned in Northants in the next year.

Frank

Frank Report 22 Jun 2012 12:35

Hope everything goes to plan with Hannah today. It will be a good thing when it's all sorted.

Ann, Why was OH sharp with the plumber ???? Don't go too mad on those cream teas, you know where it ends up !!!!

Mel, How many eggs is she hatching ???

Bored to tears this morning, nowhere to go and can't get out. Will sit and read for a while. and have a doze in the chair. It's that sort of day.

Jane

Jane Report 22 Jun 2012 16:43

Afternoon All
Well it is still blowing like mad here but the sun tried to come out just now.It managed it for about 2 minutes :-D
Hannah's meeting went ok.It was actually someone from Community Law the chap from CAB referred it to them. Now wait and see what deal the Debt company will agree to .
We then went on to Beckwort* Emporium for a mooch around and a bite of lunch.I can see me going there much more often now.Even if it is just for some fresh products.

Ann I'm glad your Loo is fixed now :-D Fancy putting OH in the study lol and how nice to be getting some free alpines from the Plumber :-D
All the plans for the 5,500 houses across from us I think might be on hold for a bit as everything has gone quiet. The longer it stay quiet the better. :-D
We wouldn't want to stay here if and when it all goes ahead.

My Sister told me some very worrying news last night. Her eldest boy is due to become a Father at the end of July.He is not with the Mother. She finished Chemo for Breast Cancer about 18 months ago.Yesterday it was discovered that she has some Lesions in her Liver. She has been sick for several days. Now she is in hospital and the baby will be delivered next week and she will start straight away on Chemo again.Poor girl :-( My Nephew will have to get his head out of his backside and realise that he may find himself a single parent
:-0. It is a terrible situation and I just hope that the girl will recover from this latest setback.,and the baby will be born healthy. It will be about 4 weeks premature so weight wise should be fine.

Mel how exciting waiting for the eggs to hatch. How many are there?

I must get on now and get James some dinner ready. He is out in the Summerhouse again tonight after a few nights away.

Jane

Jane Report 22 Jun 2012 17:24

Mandy.I have sent a few pics.

We have just had to take the canopy of the Gazebo AGAIN.Great gusts of wind are nearly making the whole thing air born :-S.
And the poor little birdies are getting flung off the Coconut. There tootsies are just not strong enough to grip on lol.One minute there were there and the next Whoosh ! :-D

Annx

Annx Report 22 Jun 2012 18:13

Frank, OH didn't say anything to the plumber, I should have said he spoke sharply and the plumber might have overheard him. I disturbed OH doing his notes in the study to ask where the spare floor and wall tiles were in the garage as the plumber thought he might have to break the floor up to get to cut the shower waste pipe shorter. OH came out chuntering (to me) that 'if they'd done the job right in the first place he wouldn't need to go into the (packed to the gills) garage to search for tiles etc'. lol He was quite right but I didn't want the plumber to hear him saying things like that. I find it best to let them get on and put things right in a 'good' mood rather than have something else scratched or cracked to go wrong in the future. :-| That's why I gave OH a 'look' that meant get back to doing his notes and keep out of the way!!

We gave up on getting the bark as the rain was so heavy and just went for the cream tea. :-D It's perhaps as well we don't have any more vouchers....

What a dreadful desperate situation Jane. The poor girl needs all the help and support she can get just now doesn't she. As you say it could be a rude awakening and big life change for your nephew.

How exciting to be getting some chicks Mel!!!! :-D

Frank

Frank Report 22 Jun 2012 18:40

Just had dinner. Ros had Steak, Mushroom, onions, beans and chips with pepper sauce. I just didn't fancy steak so had Eggs chips and baked beans, (one of my favourites) Ros has done all the washing and drying up, and cleaning down.

Oh Jane what a terrible story about that poor girl, I bet she wishes the pregance never happened. As you say your Nephew will have to pull his head out of his Ar#e and start taking responibillity for things. When you think of all these poor girls who long to be a mother and men a father and there are those who don't give a toss. Sorry I get so cross when I hear things like this.
Ann I can just hear your Oh having a moan under his breath. I think I would have been the same. There's nothing worse than paying for a job to be done, and not getting it right the first time. I can just imagine what he would have said, had the plumber had to take up the floor and tiles off the wall .######. Good on him, for biting his tongue. Did you enjoy your CREAM TEA.

Blue Sky and fluffy clouds at the moment, I don't think it will last. I think the clouds are just having a REFILL before they return with the rain.

Jane Report 22 Jun 2012 19:03

Just heard from Janice .The Baby will be induced tomorrow. They need to do a full body scan on Jo(Mum) but can't do it while she is pregnant. They obviously sound like they need to do it ASAP.The Baby may only be about 3 lb.I didn't realise they put on about a pound a week in the last weeks of gestation. So I guess it will go to Special Care.It all seems unreal at the moment .I imagine that they will try and keep Mum and baby together if possible but who knows once she starts Chemo.Mum is 37 and was told the likely hood of having children after her last lot of Chemo was Ziltch .I'm lost for words at the moment. It is just so sad
:-(

Annx Report 22 Jun 2012 20:13

I love egg, beans and chips too Frank, but only have chips occasionally these days......they go to the same place as the CREAM TEA!!! :-D It was delish by the way, 4 sarnies, 2 cheese and 2 ham, a fruit scone, pot of cream and pot of strawberry jam, an iced fancy and nice cuppa. :-D

How awful Jane. I hope the baby is ok. It all sounds very worrying for the mum's health. She must be very frightened.

I shall be off to my bed soon. I had one of those 'BAD' nights last night, awake till 3.00am and awake again before 7.00am. Can't stop yawning now. OH is watching the match.
