Oh dear, I'm too late to wish Ann and Gordon a happy holiday, I'm sure they will enjoy themselves whatever the weather. Nice here today and quite warm, all change tomorrow though, which is a shame as it's Harry's birthday party and daughter was going to get a bouncy castle for the little ones but it forecasts rain.

Considering I was such a stroppy teenager I have been really lucky with all mine, apart from one or two minor hiccups. It will get better in time Kim, my mum and me were very close once I'd left home.

Hope your leg is a bit better Sheila, you might be paying the price for going out but it probably did you the world of good. Jess has a treasure in Ryan. wherever you go in the world there will always be nasty people, I can understand Jess's reaction wanting to come home but it's just as bad here. They were lava lamps, I could sit for ages watching them.

How's James feeling about being in work Jane after completing his first week. Huge satisfaction getting that first pay packet, these days it gets paid straight into the bank I suppose. My first job I earned £4 and 10 shillings a week and half of that went on train fares and a good chunk to my mum, didn't leave me with much, still felt very grown up though, I was 15.

Afternoon everyone,

Dull here with a little rain now and then ,doesn't seem as cold out today .

Hubby seems a little better today ,he has hung the new roller blind in the kitchen, but my goodness the window was grubby on the paint work !!! :-S
It really needs a good paint , it's another window that needs replacing .

What goodies is James cooking up then Jane? son likes cooking too,he makes a lovely sponge, i think he's making Jake's birthday cake for his birthday tea on Tuesday.

Mel, loved the dog riding the bike, he peddled quite a way .

Mandy I think it is cold .We have put the heating back on :-S

Maureen James seems more 'alive' if you know what I mean .Just having a purpose to get up and dressed smartly and know that he will be earning some money at long last has done him the world of good.I think the pay is pretty awful though. But he will continue looking for the kind of job he really wants. The main thing is that he now has his foot on the ladder or in the door (or whatever the phrase is).At the moment he is making a huge batch of cup cakes :-D :-D

Meg the dog has just polished off Chesters dry food :-S.I know she has a sensitive tum so hope for the grandsons sake she doesn't end up with the trots :-S :-S.

I bet Frank will beat the pub now watching the footie and enjoying a pint or two :-D :-D

More building work then Fiona!!! How long will this build take?
I think the weather is weird everywhere.Fancy having to buy warm clothes in Italy at this time of year :-0

Kim ,good to see you back.I 'm so sorry your daughter is causing you so much grief and upset, and her friends doing the same to their parents too.If only they realised what they are doing.Maybe the day will dawn and they will feel bad about their behaviour and see how much upset they have caused.

Oh Mel I bet you are thinking of your son today on his Birthday .I can't imagine what it must be like to be estranged from children .I thank my lucky stars.

Sheila I hope those legs of yours are improving now and that you are up and about .Has Beryl been around today? :-D :-D

Have I missed anyone? I hope not, and apologise if I have.

Chris has been busy planting .I bet his knees will be giving him gyp when he finishes :-S
I imagine Ann has now reached her destination and is settling in.I wonder if they did come across the Olympic Torch??

I notice we are being bombarded with anything and everything with the Union Jack from the nice to the ridiculous.Whats the betting we get decorated toilet paper !!! lol

Sheila I am sending you a PM

Maureen

Maureen Report 19 May 2012 17:53

Have already sent Sheila a pm Jane, never mind two is better than none at all.

Hope after all the hassle Michelle is happy with her sofa Sheila, my old dad always used to say ...... you get what you pay for ........ used to drive me mad at the time, now I find myself saying it more and more.

Seems I have acquired yet another cat :-0 not a permanent fixture more a lodger, don't know how I'm going to stop him coming in and my stupid three just accept him like he's part of the family. I noticed quite a while ago their plates were unusually clean then caught this cat sleeping on my chair when I came down one morning. I have stopped feeding mine at night now so there's no food in the kitchen but he sleeps over every night and only goes when he sees me. It was really funny the other morning, he saw me and made a dash for the cat flap but Oscar was on the other side waiting to come in, so the cat was trapped but on seeing me coming into the kitchen he made a surge and burst through the cat flap colliding with Oscar who was completely bewildered by the whole thing. He is a lovely cat, obviously well looked after but I don't want to encourage him in but really don't know how I can stop him.

What a load of rubbish on TV, a toss up between The voice and Football, think it might be the football.

Bought a lovely pair of shoes at the boot sale, very cheap, sort of flesh colour, satin with a peep toe, thought would go very nice with my outfit, have been walking round the house with them on for a while, didn't think the heel was that high but I feel like I'm walking on stilts, how on earth did I walk around in stilletos, must be an age thing, comfort before fashion these days.

Maureen Report 19 May 2012 18:07

I love malt as well Shirl. as a child was given a big spoonful every Friday evening, it was always in a big brown glass jar.

Jane

Jane Report 19 May 2012 19:04

Maureen ,I wonder if your new cat's owners work nights and he is kicked out.
When I was first married and we rented a house near Bristol a beautiful black cat would turn up every evening and stay all night .Then first thing in the morning it would disappear. It even slept on the bed lol. When we bought our house I was so upset about leaving him.I had visions of him waiting to be let in in the empty house :-S :-S
Good luck with your shoes .I never did manage to walk in stiletoes :-S

Have just taken Meg home .I told the Grandson to ring me when he gets in so at least I know he is home for the dog and I needed worry .My friends will be home at teatime tomorrow .I did have a quick look around to see if Luke (grandson) has been tidy while they have been away.I was impressed.
The only thing I could see were a couple of dirty dishes in the sink. The lounge was spotless.I know they were very worried about letting him stay there on his own as he has been in trouble and has a 12 or 18 month conditional court order.I think that's what it is called So one foot out of place and he will be for the high jump.ie prison!!!.......He is really a good lad but has never got over the death of his Dad and not being wanted by his Mum.
So Sad :-(

MillymollyAmanda Report 19 May 2012 20:29

Shirl have PM'd you .

Not much happening here ,hubby's watching the football :-S

Jane

Jane Report 19 May 2012 20:40

Shirl I think Sheilas post has been removed because she mentioned the word P*k*.I think i can say it safely Pakistani .To shorten it to P*K* is now a Racial thing.Someone must have seen that word and reported it.
I am sure Sheila meant no wrong by saying that and she will be upset to think she has had her post reported.

Jane

Jane Report 19 May 2012 22:24

Just caught up with your posts.

It is really good to see our Kim popped in as we all worry so much about her.

David I was 20 when I had my son so I can always remember he is 20 years younger than me.

Did'nt see Sheila's post that has been scrapped.

Been up the tunnel weeding the carrots. Peas still not come up and what have seem to have burnt off!! The ones the mice have buried about the tunnel have come up ok in the carrots and other places I don't want them. I also dug up a whole load of red mouse bait I have put up in the bait box. Some in the tom plants too. I must get the kibbled blue stuff next time as they tend to eat that rather than store it all round the tunnel.

Shirl hope that back gets better soon. Nothing worse than a bad back.

Fiona are the headaches getting better with the sinus clearing up? It will be good to have that bit more room when your extention is done.

Maureen hope the party goes off ok tomorrow. Give Harry a hug and kiss from aunty Mel please?

Off to get an ovaltine now.

For goodness sake, I DON'T think Sheila meant any disrespect!! anyway at least, Sheila, you are in elevated company, remember Prince Harry?!! and the guy he was referring to was a friend and not even slightly bothered!! but there you are, smacked wrist for you!!!!! I wonder who the 'person' was who didn't have the bottle to pm you about this so called offence, but had to run to Genes under the cloak of anonymity?!!

Morning and Evening all,

Dry this morning but it rained a little in the night.

Oh out so I am home alone as Frank would say.

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better with all our aches and pains.

Just ahving a slice of toast and Marmite and a cuppa.

Mum used to send me to secondry school with a slice of cold marmite toast for a snack. I remember once I threw it up in class and it stuck to the ceiling!! It came sown whilst we were having a lesson.
