Ann, the cards went airmail, so it shouldn't be long before they arrive, well before christmas I know, but I am such a dizzy lizzy, I would no doubt forget to send them. lol Roly often takes his hearing aids out, if the situation suits, and he can't take the noise any more. In fact I often wonder if he has turned it off, at times when I am talking to him.
Huia, I believe that people here now have the equivalent to your St Johns. When my mum lived in sheltered accomodation, they had a bell pull to call for help, but that didn't help if they were to far away from the cord. A couple of times, mum had to wait for the person in charge, to do her daily calls around the residents before she was discovered. Poor mum was a bit accident prone, and broke her hip and wrist within a few months of each other.
Well another weekend arrives, not many more before Christmas girls LOL Has anyone got anything exciting planned?
Bye for now girls, Mo

Hello girls, hope you and your families are all okay. Have you all nearly finished your Christmas present buying? Alun and I went to Derby this afternoon and managed to buy a few more presents......think I will have to start wrapping them very soon.
I bought, wrapped and gave my brother his Christmas present and cards off us,at the end of September, as he went to St. Helena, an island in the South Atlantic, on the 9th October and won't be home for Christmas.......he doesn't arrive home until the beginning of February.I wanted him to have something from us to open on Christmas Day.
As you all may know, my brother is a vicar in Abergavenny, and a few months ago he was asked if he would go to St. Helena to look after two churches on the island as the vicar there had broken his hip and was also retiring. So John agreed to go for five months until they find a new permanent one.
My sister-in-law wasn't keen to go, as it is a six day journey to get there, and four of those days are by ship.....she's not a very good sailor.lol!! so she decided to stay at home. They also have two dogs and she wasn't happy about leaving them in boarding kennels for the five months.
Ann, it is only since July when I had my new hearing aids that I have suffered pain from the noises of children screaming, loud music and so on. I thought that perhaps they were set too high, but they are right.......think my old hearing aids were not as good as the new ones.
Mo, yes I was late posting my last post.......I am not sleeping well at all, some nights it is three to four o clock in the morning before I go to bed.
Did your son manage to get Roly's Sat Nav set up today for him? Don't worry about not knowing how to set them up Mo, I am just the same. Jennie or Michael has to sort my mobile phone, kindle and if Alun isn't around they also have to sort out my laptop if I have a problem with it.lol!!
Huia, hope that you enjoyed your son's visit and that he managed to get most if not all of the jobs done that needed doing, for you.
Are you still working at the Charity Shop?
Jean, I hope that you and J are feeling a lot better and that you are able to get on with your card making.
Elizabeth, if you are looking in, hope that all is well with you and your family.
Sylvia, hope that you have managed to sort out the problems of your train journey and the hotel for your Christmas with your daughter and her family.
Marie, if you look in, hope that all is well with you and your family.
Jeniwren, I know you sometimes post on here, I hope that things are going along okay for you and your family.
Well I am going to have a hot drink now and hopefully try and get some sleep.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx <3

Hello girls, LOL Sallie, our son sorted the Sat Nav out yesterday for Roly. The Nav has to be connected to the laptop, for it to update the motorways and roads. I couldn't believe that it had to update so many, you would think that for it being a new product it would be ready to go, but of course it's not, goodness knows when it was manufactured, and things change every day don't they. Hopefully this way he wont get another speeding ticket, silly old codger didn't realise there was a speed camera, the one and only time he got one in all his years of driving, at least now, hopefully the Nav will warn him to slow down. Anyone would think he was a boy racer at the age of 70 plus, huh thats a joke, but not so funny when he got the £100 fine. What a pity that your brother wont be home for christmas, but you could have a celebration when he does finally arrive back home.
Jean, I am sorry that you and J have been unwell my love. Have you had the horrid virus that seems to be sweeping the country. Both Roly and myself can't seem to shift it, we started with bad throats, head like cold symptoms, and then an awful cough started. We started with it back at the beginning of October, and thought it had gone, but the darned thing came back again earlier this week. It leaves you feeling like a wet weekend, and so lacking in energy it's unbelievable.
A big hello Elizabeth, I hope you and the family are enjoying your weekend.
Take care one and all, Mo

Hi Jean, sorry to hear that J is still poorly with the norovirus, I hope that he will soon to start to feel better.
Ian, one of Alun's mates from the model railway club started with it last week and is still in hospital with it......his wife also has it. Ian was in hospital when he started with it and apparently there are a few other patients on the ward with it too.
Mo hope that you and Roly will soon feel a lot better. Are you both taking anything to help soothe your cough? That's the trouble with these many viruses that are about they not only make you feel really poorly and take a very long time to clear.
Pleased that Roly now has his 'new toy' working, I'm sure that he is now a happy bunny.......these boys and their new toys, I think they are worse than the kids.LOL!!
I bought a few more Christmas presies today, so feel happy about that, another few pressies I don't have to worry about getting anymore.
Well, I will say goodnight to you both,
Take care.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Sallie. we are taking paracetamol, and drinking honey and hot lemon, but it just wont shift, so it might mean anti-biotics are called for as it's hung around for so long. Well done on the pressies front, you are leaving me behind now. I have still got to get the youngest great grandaughter something else, to finish hers off, and then I am done, but, I just don't know what to get her at the moment.
Cheerio for now girls, Mo xxx

Hi Mo, as you say, both of you will probably end up having to take antibiotics. Paracetamols and the hot drinks only help to relieve the symptoms and make us feel a bit better for a while, which we are glad about. of course.
Both Jennie and Michael have suffered some sort of virus on and off over the last six to seven weeks and only now it has started to come out on them.....both of them are full of the sniffles and coughs. There always seems to be some nasty bugs and viruses going around this time of the year, leading up Christmas.
I still have a few small things to buy to put in with some main presents, but I don't know what to get.
I was going to start packing them over the weekend, but didn't feel like it in the end.
Hello to all our friends and hope that you all had a lovely weekend.
Will say bye for now.
Take care all.
Love, Sallie. xxx

Oh Sallie, I am feeling so guilty, our little Lilly has now gone down with this hacking cough. She was fine yesterday, but today her whole body shakes when she has a coughing fit. Don't laugh will you...but you know I told you our son updated Roly's Sat Nav, well it didn't happen, and we had to start it over again yesterday afternoon at about 3.00 p.m, and it didn't finish loading till 11.10 last night. I feel sure we now have routes going all around the Continent when we only wanted updates for this country L.O.L
Well girls we have been busy busy busy. We treated ourselves to a Karcher window vac, so all the nets have been washed, and the windows are shining. No more rubbing and polishing by hand, just spray a little water and washing up liquid onto the windows, and hoover it off, wonderful and sooo easy. Lazy really, but who cares.
Speak to you soon, hugs Mo xxx

Hi Mo,
I'm up late again, Alun helped me pack some Christmas presents earlier this evening, so most of them are done now, thank goodness. We still have to get presents to get for Jennie, Richard and Christie, I keep asking them what they would like, but still waiting for them to make up their minds . LOL!!
No need to feel guilty about Lilly, Mo she could well have picked up the virus from anyone, especially mixing with other children at nursery. I know there seems to be a lot of bugs and viruses going around this area.
Oh Mo, I can see you and Roly travelling around the Continent for your holidays. LOL.
Huia, nice to see you post, hope that you are okay.
Hello to all our other friends.
Take care.
Chat to you all again soon.

goodness Sallie, you are well ahead now. You can almost sit back and relax. I must make a start on writing my cards, so many to wrote, not my favourite job.
Mo I expect Lilly caught the cough from one of her little friends, so many bugs around at the moment. Had a chuckle about the sat nav. Ours is an old one and we can't get updates any more so we end up having an argument with it when it tells us to do something like going round a roundabout that isn't there any more because a new road has been built :-D
Jean, Poor J I hope that by now he is better and that you have continued to improve. Where on earth did you catch that, you don't go to many places where you are likely to catch things do you.
Huia I haven't sent any of my cards yet. Too late for surface so they will all go air mail now. :-)

Goodness me Huia, that was a lot quicker delivery than I expected. lol
Sallie, we never go to the continent for our holidays....but who knows where we could end up, depending on this ere Sat Nav. Cor lummy mate, you don't hang around when you decide to do something do you. All the presents wrapped between yourself and Alun. You are lucky that he helps you to do them. If Roly helped, he would end up selotaping himself to the gifts as well. LOL
Ann it shows how bad my memory is becoming, Roly reminded me that this is our third Sat Nav. The first one I bought him, he couldn't see very well, so he bought a newer one, but der stupid me forgot about it. It's not as if we travel very far, but when we go up to Blackpool or Yarmouth we had got fed up of getting lost, where the roads had changed between visits.
Hello my lovely Jean. It's good to hear that J has ventured out and about today. I hope you are feeling o.k my love.
Hugs to you all, Mo

Jean :-D I know you go out love, but I meant you don't go to many crowded places or places with lots of children which is usually where the bugs are. Still if it is in your area and people are thoughtless and go out while they are still infectious (I think you are supposed to stay in for 48 hours or something after you were last ill) then it is going to spread around. I do get a bit concerned in cafes etc and on the bus when these bugs are around. I was reading in the paper today how your immune system deteriorates as you get older.
Oh yes Mo, we always get lost trying to find the town in Milton Keynes. We manage these days to find son's place without the sat nav (T is very lazy about using it when he 'knows' where he is going :-D) But at the weekend we had to take a couple of the teenagers and drop them in the town centre. We went by a very roundabout route!!!!
