Hi Mo, and everyone

Last week it was our anniversary, and we went for dinner to our favourite restaurant

Yesterday it was OH's birthday, and I took him to our neighbourhood bistro-style place ......................... he likes it there, and we had our usual good meal.

We also saw a lady in the restaurant who we had not seen for about 2 years, and had quite a little chat with her.

.............. it was a bit hard to remember that last year we were up north with his sister who was seemingly in good health and recovering after her chemo :-(

My internet was off for several hours this morning ............. when I did get in, I found an email from my brother's youngest daughter telling us that she was getting married tomorrow in Sheffield :-0

She's always been against marriage ........... too many bad examples in the family .................. so now is marrying for the first time ............... she'll be 55 at the end of the month!

Wish she would have let us know sooner ..............we'd have tried to get over for it.

They've apparently bought a cottage in Devon ............... which needs a lot of work ........... she says "new kitchen, bathroom, en-suite and large extension"

Plus, the solicitor skipped off to London 3 days before completion, so they had to find a new one to pick up the pieces!

take care everyone

s
xx

Hi girls,

Sylvia, sending belated birthday wishes to your OH, pleased that you had your usual good meal at your local bistro to celebrate.

It would have been nice if you could have made over for your niece's wedding tomorrow, I'm sure that you would loved meeting up with the family that are left over here.

Ann, you and T's wedding annive
rsary is a week tomorrow and our's is the following day, 29th, like Sylvia and her OH we will be married 47 years. Where on earth has the time gone? lol!!

I also have the eBosser die cutting machine, although I hardly use it, I still use my Grand Calibre, but I must start to use it more than I do.

Pleased that you and T had a lovely week away and I'm sure it was lovely seeing all the family.

Jean, it will be lovely when the conservatory roof will be done and finished. As you say, it will give you a chance to get some things sorted and hopefully be able to get rid of some of it.
We keep telling ourselves that we must start sorting out things here, but haven't got any nearer to making a start.LOL

Pleased to know that all your hospital results are okay, you can relax a bit now with not a lot to worry about.

Mo, hope everything is okay with , as we haven't heard from her since last week..

Huia hope that you are okay I expect you are a very busy bee.

Marie, it's a long time since we heard from you, hope that all is okay with you and your family.

Will say goodnight now, speak to you all again soon.

Love, Sallie. xxx

Huia Report 20 Aug 2014 05:52

We had about 60 people there today for the memorial talk-fest. It was a light-hearted affair. Quite a few people spoke of Phil, and said what a great man he was. We had put up about 70 photos on 3 boards of all aspects of his life, until he went into care 5 years ago. It was a lovely day.

Sallie ours is indeed a week today, yours can't be the day after if it is the 29th though!!!

Huia I am so pleased that you had a good day with all your and Phil's friends and relations to remember him.

JustJean Report 20 Aug 2014 12:50

oow what did you get Ann?

Sallie

Sallie Report 20 Aug 2014 13:40

Sorry Ann and Jean, it must have been one of my more senile moments that I have these days LOL!! Yes it is the 28th, a week tomorrow.

Ann are you thinking about buying an electronic die cutting machine then? I was thinking that I would use both machines together, but the table that I bought to put them on is okay for storing them but isn't quite big enough to be able to use them side by side at the same time...if you know what I mean.

Our car goes into the garage tomorrow monring to have yet another job done on it
so we will probably go to Derby on the bus, I need to go to Mary's craft shop in one of the market halls, she has had a lot of new things in lately, especially dies, so thought I would go and take a look at them. For such a small place she really has a good choice of dies of most if not all makes. Her prices are also reasonable, sometimes things work out cheaper than buying online, if you take postage in to account.
,

Jean, when I have finished on here I am going upstairs to sort out all my craft stuff, I have been going to do it for weeks, but haven't......instead, I keep on buying new stuff, trouble is, it is a temptation to resist some of the new things. :-D :-D
You and Ann know what it's like .LOL. :-D :-D

Good to know that you all had a lovely time with C last Sunday, it's lovely to have him with you for a few hours.

Huia, pleased that all went well at the Memorial for Phil yesterday. It must have made you feel so proud to hear people speak so well and highly of him.

Marie, lovely to hear from you and to know that all is well with you and your family.

Congratulations on becoming a great grandmother for the first time. Baby Jenson was a very good weight, wasn't he?

Mo and Sylvia, hello to you both, hope that you and your families ar all okay.

Well must go and get started on the craft room, so will speak to you all later.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie. xxx <3 <3

Hello girls, just to let you know that I am still in the land of the living.
I can't say too much, but we have big problems in the family at the moment, concerning our eldest daughters health.
Still nothing settled between us, and it's so hard to take, especially under the circumstances at the moment.

I hope you are all well, take care of yourselves please.
Love and hugs one and all, Mo

Nice to hear from you Mo, but sorry to hear that you have big problems in the family especially concerning your eldest daughter's health. Whatever the health problem is I hope that the doctors can soon find out what it is and it can soon be treated.

Also hope that the circumstances between you both will only improve.

Thinking about you , Roly and the family, and sending you lots of love and very best wishes.

AnninGlos Report 20 Aug 2014 20:17

Sorry to hear about your daughter's health problems Mo I hope there is a solution to it soon, very worrying for the family. But glad that you are ok.

Jean I bought a scrap book, some 12x12 paper, a tattered lace die of 2 owls, several sheets of Christmas toppers a christmas paper pad, christmas ribbon some tattered lace glue. I think that was all.

Sallie you are lucky to have a good local craft shop, we have a small one but it doesn't stock much.

Sallie

Sallie Report 20 Aug 2014 20:52

Yes Ann, we are lucky to have such a good craft shop, there are others around Derby and Nottingham, but none of them as good as Mary's......and she is always very helpful too.

Is the tattered lace glue good and what do you mainly use it for? I don't think I have seen it about, I'll have to see if Mary sells it.

Well I'm going to make a cup of tea now, so will chat again.

Love, Sallie. xxx

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 20 Aug 2014 21:28

I haven't used it yet, it is a small container with a fine nozzle for attaching delicate dies, only £2 so not expensive.

JustJean

JustJean Report 20 Aug 2014 21:32

Mo, sorry to hear about your daughters problem, not a lot you can do except pray as I will do with you... but good to hear you are o.k.always here for you both...

I use the glue Ann with the metal tips so easy to add smalll dots on the more delicate die cuts....I managed to get some stuff in boxes and tote bag, but was very tired so have left the drawers with stuff in them hoping the men will cover the chests and just move them to one side, they said they would move the heavy stuff or cover them so fingers x thats what will happen....and hope its fine weather too... ;-) ;-) ;-)I have been very good and havent bought much in the craft stuff. yet. ;-) ;-)

I am going to have an early night so take care everyone.

Love Jean xx

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 20 Aug 2014 21:40

Ah, maybe I should have got the metal tips as well, did see them but wasn't sure what they were for.

Sallie

Sallie Report 20 Aug 2014 21:54

Thanks Ann, I shall look out for it also the metal nozzles to go with it.

Jean by what you say, it sounds the ideal thing for the fine die cuts, thanks to you too.

Goodnight everyone.
