Hi Mo, thank you for your good wishes for Jennie. It hasn't been a good day for her, the Consultant she is under had had a good look at the CT scan she had on Saturday, and wasn't completely happy with it, She suspects that a part of the colon is narrowing, and if that is the case, Jennie will have to have that part cut out and may have to have a bag which will hopefully be reversible. Just depends on how bad it is and how near it is to, sorry not sure what she said, on whether it might be a permanent thing.
So we are all hoping and praying that it won't come to that. Trouble is, I won't be able to stop worrying now until things are sorted for her.
Oh dear Mo, it doesn't give you much time to get your car sorted for your holiday. I hope to goodness that they will get it sorted in time, otherwise it will mean more expense for you. But I suppose what matters is that you and Roly have a car that is safe for travelling in.
Weather hasn't been too bad here today, although we did have a few showers earlier on, but we still have the chilly wind.
Thank you Mo. as you know I'm always ready for a cuppa and would love a biscuit to go with it. lol!!
Well I will chat to you again tomorrow, take care of yourself.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi there everyone, Sallie, the mechanic turned up last night, at about 6.30. Plugged his machine in, and found that the car had got lots of faults, that thank goodness he was able to put right by his machine. So now we have a nice working car. But we have decided to hire a car for the week, just in case. I am just so glad that it is sorted out, and that we could cancel the appointment with Fords, as it would have cost us so much more by them doing it. And no doubt they would have...ahem...I imagine found faults that were not there. Every fault this mechanic found, Roly knew what they were ie the key fob, it needed a new battery, and Fords told us we needed a new key, not the case as we found out, and the rear break light fault, Roly had to change the bulb ages ago, but it also showed up as well. We don't understand why it took this long for these faults to show up, but they are sorted now, thank the lord.
Poor Jennie, I can imagine the pain she has been in. Thats why they are checking me out at the end of the month, the pain is horrendous at times, bless her heart, give her my love. They told me quite a few years ago, that I may end up with a bag permanantly, but I am praying it doesn't come to this, like Jennie is no doubt. My grandaughters boyfriend had the same operation, a couple of years ago, and they put him back to normal last year. He is fine now, and can eat lots of things he was unable to before. Not a nice experience for a lad of 21 as he was then.
Well it's that time of day again.....time for tea....{_}? {_}? {_}? {_}? @ @ @ @ enjoy. Bye for now my friends, take care.

Sallie. Poor Jennie she must be in pain, yes no doubt you will worry. I suppose it is no good me saying that you worrying won't help at all! I hope they can sort it without the major op. My Mum had a bag fitted when she was 80 she could have had it reversed but refused and it never stopped her doing what she always did including going on holiday. She lived with it for another five years.
Mo I hope you too will avoid the op. :-)

Hi Mo, and everyone
gosh, I have been so bad at popping in on here :-(
Mo .................. I hope you are enjoying your holiday, and that the weather has been good for you.
Sallie ................. I am so sorry to hear about Jennie's problems. I hope they can sort them out without her having to have another operation.
Ann ............. it sounds as though you are enjoying your holidays, from what I have read on other threads :-)
Marie ................. it's lovely to hear form you, and to hear that you have settled down in your Unit.
Huai ..................... what are you like?! I rad about your mishap. Not nice! xxxxxx
Jean ................. hope that you are feeling better xxxx
Elizabeth ............... it is always lovely to see you :-)
We are chugging along quite well. My leg is still being a nuisance ............... although it only hurts now when I sit down or stand up, and aches a bit when I walk. Hopefully, that will soon stop!
We go away in 3 weeks to Montreal for a meeting. We're taking the train both ways :-) . I want to be walking more comfortably by then!
3 days after we get back, we have to drive north for the spreading of OH's sister's ashes on the ski hill, and the ceremonial drinking of the contents of her liquor cupboard (or as much as we can!).
Our daughter is coming over from the East Coast, with her son, for that weekend ....................... it will be a long trip for her and our grandson. It will take 14 hours for her to get there on the Friday, and 11 hours on overnight flights to get home on the Tuesday.
But she wants closure ............ and also realised that this could well be the only time when she will be able to meet with all her 3 cousins and families at the same time, and the only time that grandson will meet his generation of children altogether. They all live in different towns, and, as you may have gathered, travel is often long!
She and her husband are still going through counselling, and making progress, although M is now on mood changing medication 'cos he obsesses about things.
take care everyone

Our day today. Drove to Abbotsbury down the very scenic coast road, the sun was shining and the views were glorious, looking right down along Chesil Beach. We arrived at the swannery at about 10am and started the day with a coffee before making our way down to see the swans. There were still a lot sitting on unhatched eggs which was a surprise but also a lot of babies, one pair had eight babies and one had only one, she looked a very small young swan so that was probably why. Luckily there were no patients in the casualty pen but there were a pair and quite a few babies in the 'foster' pen. There were also moorhens with babies, these they had to keep away from the swans who will attack them if they go near the cygnets. A lot of the nests were on the paths and we had to be careful walking past these as the cob could get aggressive if he thought we were too close. It was a lovely day to be there with the sun shining on the Fleet and the white of the birds sparkling in the sunlight. Sadly the February storms had caused a lot of damage which is slowly being rebuilt. The sea apparently flooded right over the Fleet and into the swannery and across the fields twice, a week apart. We walked back to the car, deciding not to wait to watch the feeding having seen it twice before. Stopped to look at the model of the bouncing bomb. Had coffee and crisps in the car then walked down the lane to the children's farm in St Peter's Abbey grounds. Looked at the huge barn now a big play centre then walked around taking photos of the animals. Walked back to the car and drove to West Bay (Broadchurch on TV) for fish and chips by the quay. They were delicious as usual. We walked out along the pier to take photos and sit in the sun. The day ended with a beautiful sunset. :-)

Ann, the photos are brilliant, thanks for letting us see them. I can't get over the different colours of the nets in Lyme Regis, they look so bright and cheerful. Also like the photo of the bark of the tree, as Jean said, ' it would make a lovely background for a card '. Wish Alun and I could take photos half as well as you.
Mo, I hope that you and Roly had a good holiday, you certainly chose the right week for the weather, well for at least for the first five days or so.
Have your new grandchild arrived yet? I'm sure it's due round about now.
If I remember rightly, you also have a hospital appointment over the next couple of days. Hope it all goes well for you and that there is nothing to worry about.
Jean, hope you are feeling a bit better. I was pleased to see that you had commented on Ann's photo blog.
Have you been able to make any cards lately? I have been very slow making any, only made cards for both Jennie's and my friend's birthday which is tomorrow.
Hope all is well with J, D and the rest of the family.
Huia, read on another thread that you have badly cut and injured your hand. I hope that it is feeling a bit better, but by the sound of it, it will take a long while to get right.
Marie, lovely to hear from you. Hope that you and your family are all well.
Last week Alun and Michael did a good bit of work in our back garden, laid some new lawn down, with a path down the middle and put some shrubs and plants in. Must say, it looks really nice now, only trouble is, we have a week of rain so haven't been able to sit out and enjoy it.
Sylvia, not long now before you and OH go to Montreal, hope you get some good weather while you are there. Hope that your leg is improving and that you are finding it easier to walk.
Jennie, didn't have to have an operation, thank goodness, but I don't think that one can be ruled out sometime in the future. Hopefully it will be in the long and distant future,
Well my friends, I am going to have a hot drink and then it will be time for bed.
Will speak to you all soon.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie. xxx

Hi everyone, We had a lovely holiday, wonderful weather, up until Wednesday night, when we had the most horrendous storm ever. Earlier in the day, we had decided to come home on the Thursday, rather than the Friday, as I had not been to well, but after the storm we wished we had gone on the Wednesday instead lol The Caravan was beautiful, with all mod cons, and two loos, one each.
I had to see the specialist on Tuesday afternoon, and I have got to go in for a colonoscopy at the end of June. The doctor has said they need to search further up, into my bowel, to see whats happening, rather than doing what my doctor requested. Not looking forwards to it, but need to get it sorted as soon as possible.
No sign of our new grandaughter yet, she must be very comfy where she is. DIL is going to be having what they nowadays call a sweep, on sunday, in hopes that baby starts, and if not, she will have another one done on tuesday, and if that doesn't work, they will take her in and induce her.
Not long now till our daughters wedding, thats happening on the 21st of this month, so all round it's going to be a hectic month.
I hope you are all keeping well. I send you my love and best wishes, Mo xxx

Mo, pleased to know that you and Roly had a lovely holiday, pity the nice weather hadn't lasted a couple of days longer.
Let's hope that the baby will be here before Sunday so that she doesn't have to have a sweep, whatever that might be.
Have you got all your outfit sorted for your daughter's wedding yet? Hope the weather will be good for them on their special day.
Mo I hope that all will go well with the colonoscopy at the end of June and that there is nothing serious to worry about. As you said, you need to get it sorted as soon as possible, and worrying about it seems to make any symptoms worse. Have you had a colonoscopy in the past, or is this your first one?
Jennie had another colonoscopy last week, to determine whether she needed an operation, her consultant was happy that she didn't need one, but told Jennie that the next colonoscopy she has, she will do it herself so that she can be sure that nothing has been missed.
Jean, I'm glad to hear that you are starting to feel better, hope that things will continue that way for you.
It sounds as though J is going to have a great time for his 80th birthday, I'm sure he will be thrilled with the surprises that you and D have planned for him.
As for making cards Jean, I have only done the ones that I needed to do. Although, I must say that once I started on them I really enjoyed making them and felt better for making them.
I made some for Jennie as it is her 29th birthday today......wish I was 29 again and know what I know now. Wouldn't we all I suppose. lolol!!
Well I must go now, hope everyone else is alright.
Love, Sallie. xxx

Bless her, they have not decided on a name for her yet, so she is just Baby for now. Up till now, Lilly has been very good with her, but time will tell, especially if she gets woken up by her crying during the night.
All is well here girls. we are looking forwards to our daughters wedding in two weeks Saturday now that baby is here.
I hope you are all well. I send you my love and best wishes, Mo xxx

Also congratulations to your son and daughter in law and to Lillie. I bet she will love her baby sister to bits and be very protective towards her.
Glad that things are okay there. Not too bad here either, thank goodness.
I think everyone has deserted this thread, it seems a long while since we have heard from our friends that usually post.
Huia, hope that your hand is improving.
Jean, hope that you are feeling a bit better each day.
Ann, Sylvia and Marie, hope all is well with you and your families.

Life is chugging along here, not much to report .............. but we are having some nice weather :-)
We go away next week for 2 weeks.
Back for 2-3 days, then away again for the spreading of OH's sister's ashes.
We're away for about a week that time
OH has to have another colonoscopy on July 15th, it's only just over 3 months since he had the last one, but that's what the specialist ordered.

Congrats to Granny Mo.
Sallie, I had the stitches (2) out of my finger yesterday, and a new bandage, not so bulky, with a pressure bandage on it to reduce the swelling, and was shown how to exercise the finger to restore my grip.
