Maureen
I now weigh 6st 13lbs, 1lb to go and i am 7 stone YES. :-D :-D I am glad to feel and look normal again, size 8 clothes are fitting properly and I can now buy pretty underwear that fits.
it's ok if I put on a few more pounds , but no more than 7 1/2 and that is my limit,

How does this bloomin' Facebook work, it keeps telling me I have two messages and when I try and see them all that comes up is a great long list of photos and names of people I've never heard of in my life, who are apparently friends of friends of mine ..... I just don't get it.

Hi Folks,

I'm going to heed the warnings about the thread gremlins and do you a short Birthday Report. But first, I've put a picture of baby Grace on the side for you to all ooh and ahh over. Isn't she the little beauty.

Thanks again from Carmel for all your lovely birthday wishes, graphics et al - and Frank for the lovely Jaquie Lawson ecard. All much appreciated.

Well, we've had two lovely days of celebration. First my daughters 50th on Saturday, nice get together and lovely meal out. My son was up from London with his wife and two little ones, my Grandson (burthday girls son) was home from Uni in Kingston O T. Great reunion all round.

Yesterday, Carmel had all her cards and some 'starter' pressies to open. Her friend called in later with a pressy, then came the time her sister was arriving from Ireland. The bonus was that BOTH her sisters arrived, that was a real bonanza pressy. The day shot by there was so much to talk about. Went out to a garden centre for a light lunch before home and a quick change. Then a family get together (again) and a lovely meal laid on for us. It really couldn't have been better for her. Phone calls from Ireland as well, a job to keep up. So that's the potted version. Plenty of 'little ones' about to keep us all amused too.

Frank, did I miss something? You mentioned MARCEL too, who said that? Not me I hope? Actually we do have a friend Marcel in Switzerland so if nothing else it's a coincidence. It' took ages on my email catching up with all the new material. To make matters more tricky, my provider has just launched a new email platform, and it's a bit like this site. Sometimes 'it don't work proper like'. Hell, this technology keeps one on ones toes (or is that fingers?).

Anyway, I've read too many of Frank's menus on here, they've made me hungry so I'm off to rustle us up a bit of dins dins now.

Catch you all soon. Have a nice evening.

(PS - has it worked???)

I've definitely put on a few pounds Fiona, got to stop staying with daughters, they feed me too well. I must be getting on for 9st. now but still in size 8 bottoms and 10 tops, perhaps I'm just heavy boned ........lol

William Report 28 Feb 2012 17:31

Maureen, not sure where you are on Facebook, but when you log in you will see FACEBOOK on the top left of the page. On the right adjoinging that are three icon. First shows 2 people outlines - that's friends requests - Next is two 'bubbles', that's for PM's. The 3rd and last is a globe - that shows open messages, if you click on one it will take you to where that message is on the page.

I hope this helps a little bit. I promise, you will get the hang of it.

Jane - we forgive you!

I thought I did mention the cake in an earlier post?!?!? - I told you I don't know what day it is. The cake went down a treat (literally). Daughter made another one in chocolate (death by!) just in case anyone didn't like fruit cake. Then we had a massive cheese cake - that was on top of all the other food. Daughter doesn't skimp - no one goes hungry when there are Irish people in a house.

A little story - when I first started visiting Ireland with Carmel and meeting all the family, they would let us in and say 'I'll pop in the kitchen and make us some tea'. Time would pass and you'd think, where's this bloomin' tea? Then host would appear and say 'Come on into the kitchen' - and the table would be full of food! I can honestly say that's what happened anywhere we went, any branch of the family, and not for one minute did I feel like a stranger, even on first meeting. No wonder I married Carmel. . . .
