Into a Belfast pub comes Paddy Murphy, looking like he'd just been run
over by a train. His arm is in a sling, his nose is broken, his face is
cut and bruised and he's walking with a limp.

"What happened to you?" asks Sean, the bartender.

"Jamie O'Conner and me had a fight," says Paddy.

"That little [censored], O'Conner," says Sean, "He couldn't do that to you,
he must have had something in his hand."

"That he did," says Paddy, "a shovel is what he had, and a terrible
lickin' he gave me with it."

"Well," says Sean, "you should have defended yourself, didn't you have
something in your hand?"

"That I did," said Paddy... "Mrs. O'Conner's breast, and a thing of
beauty it was, but useless in a fight."

Ann, i carn't believe we slept with the blooming hatch open all night , i really don't know what i would do if i saw a mouse in the house , Toby would be no good ,he'd just watch it go past!!! lol

Evening all,

Lost Web conection this afternoon, The Email I sent to Jane. sat in my outbox for ages. Only when I went back to it at about 6 pm I noticed it had gone and I could get a connection again.

Got myself in a right old mess this evening (BAD TEMPER WISE) I was trying to put some things on Ebay, and the Photo's wouldn't load. Did I swear. Then I decided to wrap Ros's presents, Not a good idea. Lost my rag to myself, I lost it compleatley and threw the sellotape across the room Then the tape kept getting stuck to everything . Then had a job cutting the paper and wrapping things up. Ros said leave it, just put them in a bag, I will understand when it comes to opening them. NOT LIKELY. I stuck at it. Most are a right old mess, but they are done.

Fiona, I see you are really having a bad time of it up there, I must ring my niece in the Boarders, to see if she's allright.

Poor old Ann This age thing must be terrible. There is a name for it. What is it JANE.????

Mel, Hope the weather dosen't put these workmen off !!! You could end up with a scaffolded house :-D :-D :-D and nothing on the roof.

Jane, The local postmen usually knows every body by name, It has been known for an address as being Mr & Mrs bloogs, anytown, and still gets there. One I remember was "JUST up the road from the PUB.

Going to settle dopwn and watch a bit of tele, and get myself together.

It must be so frustrating for you Frank , why don't you just wrap them in a little coloured tissue paper and pop them in a gift bag ,you wouldn't need to use the tape on the tissue paper ,you can buy some really pretty bags ,it would only need a little tape over the top to stop prying eyes :-) :

Some days I have to say I think I am daft a as brush :-S I.have already had a discussion as to where I will go when I have lost the plot .
One thing is for certain ,and that is I will not live with either of my children.I wouldn't want them go through the stress of looking after me.(not that I would be a pain in the Backside) ;-) ;-)

Hope you are all safe, especially Fiona. Have been watching the storms in Scotland on the news and vehicles blown over. Scarey stuff indeed. Stay put and be safe.

Mandy thanks very much for your card, it arrived today and I do think the background is a lot paler, almost white.

Mel I loved your photo. The wreaths are beautiful, just what I wanted for my front door. I showed them to OH and he came home with a plastic version a bit similar, but not quite. He gets very frustrated with the Christmas shopping and me!!!!

Frank great that puss is using his tray and doesn't have to go outside. My two have trays in the laundry and in the garage. Don't get flustered over the presents, Ros will love them no matter how they are wrapped. Keep your cool baby, lol.

Visit down to Richard today. Blood tests in the morning, they are coming to the house at 7. On Tuesday I have to have a H.I.D.A. Scan - very fatty breakfast between 9.30 and 10.30 am, test is at 2.30 pm. where they will give me a tracer and then follow it's progress for 90 minutes. He believes bile is leaking through my system and my liver and pancreas are affected. After these results, it looks like a trip to hospital and a probe into the pancreas, this is an overnight stay in case the procedure brings on an attack of pancreatitis. I have lost 2 kg. since last visit. We won't talk about Christmas lunch; I will be eating it from a saucer, lol.

Where is Shirl???? Have I missed any posts from her??

Evening Kim and Morning everyone else,

The Solar company rang us twice last night and the last time was after 10pm. It was about our driving liciences which we had to photo copy and send as prouf of our address. The man said " they have'nt got a picture on" silly fool must have been a youngster as they are both old liciences and are valid till 2020 or something like that. What difference does it make, I ask you, if there is no picture on it???????????? Are they going to come round to make sure we are who we say we are???? I said to oh , tell them I will send them pictures of us if they want them!!

Frank I do hope you are a bit calmer this morning old friend......just calm down as Jane said, take deep breaths and think of somewhere nice with a beautiful view. Some favorite place down by the canal where you walk or something like that. When I go to have my blood pressure taken by the nurse sometimes I have to do that if it is a bit high the first time she takes it. I think of the time we went to Lydford Gorge and a stretch of river covered in beech leaves with the sunlight shining through and the river so clear with all the lovely coloured pebbles in the bottom and the small trout just resting in the water and a little further up towards the bridge you can see the fish jumping. So beautiful............. Somewhere I have a photo of this place and the fish in the clear water. I doubt I shall ever be able to get down there again with my knees as they are now. I could hardly walk up last time we went and that was years ago when SIL was down here and we took her there. It is a real magical place.

Mandy I think you are right about the background being lighter.

Still having trouble getting onto the site at any time of day. I either have to get in via a message through GR or if I get the Error page I just double click on the name and that usually does it.

I had a card fromk an old school friend yesterday and a great long letter. I replied with a card for her but for the life of me I could not remember her married name!! So I just addressed it to her and hubby by their first names. They live on Mersea Island so I know it will get there.

Mel .I love Lydford Gorge.It's a long time since I went there though.I remember walking along the plank to the Devils Cauldren(I think that's what it's called.
Not a place to visit if it is a bit wet .All those steep slippery paths :-S

I was visiting freinds at Mersea Island the other weekend..Im sure the card will reach them ok.
I had to arrange my visit because of the high tide. The day before some silly motorest got caught crossing over..If I can add the link i will.

Sunny and cold here again temp now says 3.9..Hubby had to scrape his car again this morning at 6 .30..I dont mind walking to work in this weather if there is no strong wind

David Codeine can make some people constipated hense the other tablets..I cant take too many of them...

Parcel just arrived for daughter no 2 boyfriend, so must get it wraped up, still have a few other parcels to get in the post. hope we don't get problems like last year was on tenderhooks wondering if the parcels would get through the snow in time for Christmas

Been up and delivered the 5 wreathes to the shop and two to a friend who did'nt want silk flowers on them. Have'nt heard anything from the firm this morning so far.

Pat I know you said you went to mersea the other week and I meant to say I have a friend who lives there.

Sun is in and out today and the wind has dropped and we just have a little breeze now and then but it is still very cold but not as cold as some of you are haveing.

I knew it was going to turn cold as my hands have gone all dry and rough. Happens each time it gets or is going to turn cold and frosty. My built in weather forcast!! :-D :-D :-D

Lovely sunny day here ,but still windy.

Been shopping with DIL this morning .went to T*sco's,not to busy there i was quite surprised i thought it would be, DIL bought the children some lovely clothes in the sale .

Sheila thank you for your lovely sparkly card very pretty ,and Jane's arrived too that was another sparkly one thank you ,i do love the glittery cards .

Just put a another Christmas cake in the oven ,and now going to write a few more Christmas cards .
We're off out tonight for a Christmas meal , think it will be trousers on tonight ,skirts make my legs cold .
Then tomorrow we're off to take the little ones to the Dinosaur Park to see Santa ,

HI HELLO EVERYONE HAVE A HAPPY DAY. I have been trying to get on sky all morning just made it if it does not suddenly go off. I have been crippled with a knee pain. I woke up with my foot stretched out down the bed and could not move it until Jess rubbed it and helped me stand up so scary. Old age is really bugging me and this freezing cold wet weather does not help. The suns shining but it is freezing.

Kim Michelle sometimes leaves the cards in her shopping bag and I was worried she had not posted it. Is Maureen still at the same address.

Poor Fritz Jane and his mum. My mum luckily did not have that problem
but did fall going to the loo and ruptered her bowel but her heart was failing also I was cross because I had arranged for a nurse to stay with her at night and she told her to go and then fell. Proberly told you that before my memory is getting awful just lately.

I dont like these glasses I have they are divided into two and cannot see so well there is a line across them and they get dirty quickly. I have three pairs of them .Silly moo I am.Would explain why but fed up of myself.

Ryan is coming home for Christmas. I do go on about MAT but he was cute . I used to think when he came in he looked like a hermit then he would go upstairs and come down and I would swoon he was nice looking when the beard had gone. But I was a bit nervous of him because
he was aloof but it was his way because when he fell and I looked after him he was so different. But never a day goes by when I wished I had said something or other had I known he was dying . Told him what a nice guy he was or something because he used to think himself terrible.


I sent Maureen a card but was not sure if she had moved sometimes my mind boggles and cannot still get on aol. My son is coming today to take me to see a film with April called Hugo 3D one I said I cannot walk and he said Oh do not worry I will stick you in the car and surely you can walk into the pictures. I shall look forward to being stuck in the car. lol

KIM you make me laugh about Beryl and Donnie perhaps I should write a book they are so silly her family all of them. Her eldest brother Ronnie
went on holiday and locked his cat in the loo. The poor cat starved to death
He was gone for 3 weeks and could not use his loo for ages because of the disgusting smell. I said to him how could you do that to your poor cat
was it an accident and he said no did not want the thing running around.
I said to Beryl you should go to the RSPCA about your brother .I will let you know what happens .

Beryl is thinking of buying Donnie a car and I love your interest Kim .I think I must bore people to death most people I think I make it all up. I tell my next door neighbour and she looks at me and goes Oh no really and changes the subject. But it is all true and if Beryl cannot see that Donnie is using her then shes mad. He told her he wanted 50pound for Christmas presents. He said I have to get my Sheil one they popped in yesterday on the way to see Cassy. I said do not bother Donnie unless you are paying for it. He said Oh Sheil wheres your Christmas spirit I said the same place your money is. He went off muttering.

Jane we do have some funny customers . Funny names we have a Flo Waters, Pat Bach, and a Robin Bird. They all buy Beer and drink like fishes.

Why did the gnome sell his house because he did not have mushroom.

I did have a book on churches in England Frank with all the larger churches in I have been trying to find it. My friend Annie gave it me she loves to find out all that stuff.

I have not seen hail stones for ages Jane once I was up in WALES and
went out during the winter in my car and got caught in a hail storm and it dented my car in three places. I was terrified they were bouncing off the roof and the noise was awful. I had Aprils Sheep in the back of the car
he was sat on the back seat he had hurt his leg and he did Baa and he had pooped himself. I said never again will I come to Wales Mat laughed
he said Sheila what were you doing with Sheep in the car I take him everywhere in the van in a pen. I told him to ask his wife it was her idea.
Sheep also ate my seat.
I hope AMANDA Chelsea s school play goes well I miss all that I loved to see school plays. Aprils got nothing this year. Mel where is GOZO me being igorant. bye for now from Sheila.

Good afternoon all,

Had a very fretfull night last night. was in bed by 11.00 Read for a while, snuggled down, but could not sleep. Ros came in 1,30 am. still awake. This went on till 3.30am. then dropped off till 6.00 couldn't get back to sleep. Been trying to doze in the armchair this morning., but no luck.

Body feels very tired, and achy this morning.

Have written Ros's Christmas Card. Trying to get it in the envelope, I split it open down the side. :-| :-| :-| So she had to have it as it was.

If I had thought, I could have wrapped the presents in coloured tissue, and put in a gift bag. Will have to consider that next year.

Had a real shock last night. Ros said how frightened she was ,when I lost my temper. She thinks I will turn violent and start on her. I never knew I did that to her. The problem is, I don't know when it's going to happen, and the doctor can't give me anymore medication. That really upset me.As i wouldn't harm a hair on the head. !!!!

Glad to see the wind has blown it's self out, but still very cold. They say could get down to minus 5 tonight.

Pat, how far are you from Toddington. ??? That's where my son lives.

Ros has just made me a toasted Ham, cheese, onion,and tomato sandwhich. Very nice it was too.

FRANK I hope your cat is ok now just seen your thread I do not think you would hurt Roz you sound really kind to her. You both have a lot of trauma in your life like us and its easy to think like that. Just try and relax and carry on like you do I think your wife is lucky to have you wish my hubby was more like you . I should turn myself into a can of beer or sometihng. HAVE A NICE DAY.

Just thought, We put the heating back on this morning and there is a souind like a bird tweeting. in the pipe that are boxed in on the lounge wall. I have no idea what it is, or where it is coming from. I am sure it's not a bird. as I have banged on the boxing, and it continues. Might be the pump. but does sound weird.

The old cat is still using his "tray" and sleeping in the lounge in fronmt of the drinks cabinet all day. Go out to the kitchen when he needs a drink or something to eat.

Getting really Christmassy now. Ros is hanging all the cards in strips down the lounge wall with a big Red bow at the top.

Felling a bit calmer now, going to have a read and doze.
