Had a very busy day yesterday. Thought I would take the bus into Harrow to do my Christmas shopping, save on petrol and parking. It's about a six minute walk to the bus stop, while standing there waiting for the bus I realised I'd forgotten my bus pass, so walked all the way back home and then back to the bus stop. Waited over twenty minutes for the bus. Wasn't that successful with buying presents, but managed to get a few, by the time I got back on the bus all the kids had come out of school so was squashed up against complete strangers ...... don't think I'll be using public transport too often ......

I have so many things I keep putting off ...... dentist more expense ....... cats yearly booster injection more expense ....... eye test more expense ..... car tax more expense, can't put that one off.

I have missed a lot of chat this afternoon !
Sheila I had a good laugh at your posts.Just pictured that poor sheep with a bad leg pooping on the back seat of your car :-D :-DI love the things you have to say.That Donnie needs a good clip around the ear.What a cheek asking Beryl for money like that.I bet she gives him it too.

Frank I remember when Ros locked you out in the conservatory when you lost your rag :-S :-S.Hopefully you are feeling more yourself now.I doesn't matter about a split envelope.Some are so awkward to get the cards in.Too tight a fit.

Maureen,I think I would stick to using the car lol.It is years and years since I have been on a packed bus.Hannah is always saying about the packed tube in the mornings and ending up with her nose right under someones armpit lol

Fitz has got the big Xmas tree.It's a smasher.He had been putting the lights on when he got an electric shock of one set.He was going to leave it on the tree !!!!.Well I read him the riot act and told him not to be a silly B****r.He even had a mark on his hand from the shock :-S.Sometimes I think his brains are in his backside.He is a very intelligent man ,but no common sense.

Any news Mel from those people this afternoon??

I don't think I have cleaned as much since last Christmas :-S.I've had enough now.My hands need a good dose of hand cream now.Trouble is I still have more to do but I'll do that next week.My sister won't complain tomorrow if she sees any mucky bits.I wish I had an easy house to keep clean.
Better go and see if the chicken has defrosted.

Chicken still a bit frozen :-S,so it is now in the oven on the defrost setting.

Any suggestions please for a very inexpensive present for a silver wedding?It is some neighbours who are having a little get together next Saturday.I don't think they expect gifts ,but I would like to take a small something.

Sheila, fancy Beryl getting Donnie a car !! is she doing it to stop him roaming again , he might just take off once she's bought him one !!

This cake was sons ,that will be three i've made, one for us and i always make one for my friend .

Oh had to go and ring for a funeral today and I had to go and pickup some more pills so off I went and also took the wreaths I had made, to the shop.

When I got back oh had to put a bin bag over the drivers window on my car as it had dropped right down inside the door.

Have rung the garage but they can't do anything till Monday. MORE EXPENCE!! as Frank would say :-(

Have'nt heard anything from the solar place today at all which is annoying as we are haveing to stay in all the time incase anyone rings :-|

Fitz was a lucky boy, Could have ended up "BROWN BREAD" !!!! And as for leaving them on the tree !!!! I've got these breakers on mine, so if anything happens while we are out, they would just cut out. Plus the trip on the fuse box.

Mandy, I have tried bleeding the rads, but no air around. It's gone away this evening. !!!

Oh Shirl !!!! I had that a few years ago.It lasted for weeks.Couldn't even put my foot on the floor.I blamed it on my poor posture at the pooter.I sat perched on the edge of a low chair with the pooter on the coffee table.I now sit at the dining table(except now .I'm back on that low seat) :-S.Take care and keep taking the anti inflammatories.I hope it doesn't last too long .

Brrrrrrr! it's going to be a chilly night tonight.No fire tonight as I have done all the dusting and don't want to have to clear it out again in the morning before Janice comes.It is all laid and just ready to light .

I saw a Squirrel this morning snaffling around in all the leaves looking for it's buried treasure of conkers.I got a couple of pics.

Brrrr! How cold it has been today!!!!! Still not really got stuck into the cleaning here so will be like a whirling dervish next week.lol :-S :-S I'm off the Wrexham with OH tomorrow, him to a match and me to the shops. I shall be wearing my red fleece I think, light enough to carry if the shops are boiling, but warm enough for outside.

Someone rang for OH tonight and pronounced his surname wrongly and I was convinced it was one of his pals larking about so I told them he didn't live here anymore........it was the garage he bought his car from!!! lol

Had a nice time at class today. Some of us took food, so we were nibbling at nibbles, mince pies and fondant fancies most of the time! I was so taken with some of the M*S nibbles I'm getting a pot for me at Xmas......OH has lots of his own nibbles. We had a secret santa, so I have my first pressie for under the tree. The teacher is looking to do an improver class after the recycling one and showed us some things I would really like to make, so I think I will be joining that.

I was reading an advert at lunch and told OH I had found the perfect home for him (in the future) where they offered good food, relaxation and TLC.........it was for old horses! The first bit of his reply was that he didn't fancy ending up with a bunch of OLD NAGS........and the look he gave me got him a clip around the ear!! lol

Frank I hope you have calmed down now.........you just need to find alternative ways to do your presents like Mandy has suggested. It is better to do that than get yourself worked up and scare Ros. You should hear my OH fighting with sellotape and chuntering and he is supposed to be in good working order. I'm glad PUSS is using his tray.........I think he must have heard you talking about the one way trip to the vet!! Seriously, it is great the little chap is managing ok and keeping an OLD BOY HAPPY TOO!!

Fancy Fitz nearly getting fried with his lights.......could have been nasty! I bet he gives them great respect in future.

Donnie sounds a bit cheeky to me......shouldn't expect Beryl to buy a car. I bet that was a 'nice' job cleaning up after the sheep, Sheila. Hope you had your marigolds on.

Mel, what a nuisance with these panels. I do hope they don't let you down. Keep making notes of what happens (or doesn't). I should think they are keen to get it done though in case people try to claim for loss of income due to them not meeting the deadline. Fingers crossed they will soon get on with it.

Kim those tests sound a quite lengthy ordeal. Very best wishes with them......we will all be thinking of you.

Shirl, sciatica is very painful......OH gets it sometimes. Please take care and I hope the tablets start to improve things for you soon.

Forgot to say thank you for your nice sparkly card Jane......have put it with the others from the thread. That little squirrel was busy with that big nut wasn't he!! lol I have a terrible time when I try to snap squirrels, don't they move fast!!

We had a frost last night as the cars were frozen. There was also a lovely moon last night shining down so you could see things in the garden, it was so bright.

Jane lovely pics of the squirrel. Love the first one. I like the way he has the nuts balanced on top of one another. Looks just like what they would put in a cartoon.

Did'nt hear a thing from the firm yesterday at all and did'nt ring either.

Brrrr again! We had to scrape the car this morning and there was frost all on the rooftops. I have had a change of plan and decided not to go to Wrexham with OH. He still wanted me to go with him, but we thought how busy it would be so close to Xmas and wondered if there would be traffic queuing and full carparks? A pity this match wasn't a few weeks ago!

So here I am, all ready, but nowhere to go. :-( :-( I think I will have a look in the paper in a bit and see if there are any craft fairs out of town I could go to. He's off to another match tomorrow but only after promising to get stuck in with helping next week, at my BECK and CALL, without ANY excuses!! lol :-D His parents will be here for tea next week and the tree is still in the loft!

I think we may have washing machine trouble! I checked the filter and gave it a 'service' wash a couple of weeks ago as the washing didn't smell fresh when it came out. I have tried it on a hotter wash and I've tried adding stain remover, but stuff is coming out dingy and not properly clean. I thought it may be the element not heating up properly or the thermostat, but you can't open the darned things these days to see how hot it is till the wash and rinse is finished. I did halve the amount of powder I put in a couple of years ago, as this machine is frugal on water and I was getting white soap marks on stuff. I think one more try with full strength powder (in case they have changed it!) then it will be MORE EXPENSE if that doesn't work!! :-(

Mel, the silence from the people doing your panels must be quite worrying for you. They are cutting it a bit fine now.....hope you hear from them today and that they get cracking.

Oh, What a frost. I got up 8.00am to find the roofs opposite white, as was the paths, road, and lawns. I went out about 9.00am and let Ros's car run for 1/2 hour to defrost the windows and warm it up for her to go shopping with Martine.

Had myself a great plate of breakfast. Two slices of toast, cherry tomato's in olive oil, three rashers, and two eggs. three cups of tea and my pot of TABLETS.. Won't neen any lunch.

Conrad and Jan are calling in this afternoon, on their way down to Harvey's for the boys to get together, and have a meal. Lewis will be pleased to see Uncle Conrad, they get on so well together.

Lewis will be with us from next Friday for a week. Swimming, Cinema, Chinese, and what ever else he decides he wants to do.

That moon last night was so bright it lit up our bedroom, even with the curtains drawn. I just laid, thinking of those poor people who would be lying under a hedgerow somewhere, or in a shop doorway. You do have to think what happened in their lives for to be this way.

When younger and working, I would get a "Parcel" together to give to the social services in Kettering for a poor family. We thought of having them for Christmas day. But Social said that wouldn't be a good idea, as they might come back and back afterwards.

Poor old Puss, he got in his box during the night for a pee, and missed the tray !!!! Ros went to get her cerial out of the top cupboard, with no slippers on, and your right, got a wet foot. Soon washed up and cleaned.

Still sitting around in dressing gown, Home Alone, will go for a shower and shave and get myself dressed now.
