Are you sure it wasn't 2nd hand Jane, it would be just like you :-D :-D :-D

Yes, I will have to try to see the "TORCH" when it comes through. It's only once in a lifetime thing after all. I can't rembember much about the ceremony of the 1948 games.

I'm not sure what I pay, I just renew each year. and let it go.(genes)

Been northing but rain and drizzle, the forcast is the same for tomorrow too. :-| :-| Looks like Thur/Friday will be better.

Jane Report 7 Nov 2011 19:48

No Frank it is Brand New.In original packing and with tags.Would I buy second hand for a pressie :-P :-P
Not sure where I will go and see the 'torch'.Everywhere will be so crowded.
Maybe Geddington .

Did I tell you all the other day James found 40 ladybirds in his bedroom!!!!!!.Some dead and some alive. He had to hoover them all up. :-S
They were mostly on his windowsill . :-S :-S :-S

Ladybird ,Ladybird ,fly away home.Your house is on fire ..........what is the rest of that??.I remember that from my childhood

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 7 Nov 2011 20:02

Ladybird, ladybird fly away home,
Your house is on fire and your children are gone,
All except one,
And her name is Ann,
And she hid under the baking pan.

There were superstitious beliefs that it was unlucky to kill a ladybird, and that the verse would make them fly off. Another superstition states that you should chant the verse if a ladybird lands on you: if it then flies away again, your wish will come true.

Jane Report 7 Nov 2011 20:56

That's it Mandy.I did remember 'your children have gone' but then a blank. It would have bugged me all night if you hadn't come up with the rest of it.
I think I will be off to bed very soon.Suddenly I feel zonked .My lounge looks like a bomb has hit it,but I think it can wait until the morning to tidy up.
My parents would never go to bed unless everything was in it's place.and dishes all washed up and put away.Even plumping up the cushions on the settee.
They would have a dicky fit if they could see how I left things !!!!.But no-one will see will they :-D
So nighty night ,sleep tight . xx See you in the morning.

Evening All,

What a miserable drizzly day it has been here. I went off to Loughborough this morning to a bead shop one of the ladies at the classes told me about. I like Loughborough as it is like town centres used to be. Some of it is pedestrianised but the streets are crammed with the old fashioned narrow fronted shops that go way back when you get inside them. You can see dozens of shops in a short distance without walking your legs off if you see what I mean. I found the shop and bought a few bits and pieces and had a mooch around a couple of charity shops which were surprisingly expensive compared with ones local to me. I did get 2 new little fluffy animals for the christmas socks I made last year, a zebra and a rhino, 45p each.

Glad you managed a shower Fiona, makes you feel so much better and nice that you got a call asking how you were doing. It must be reassuring to be told you are going along as expected. Just don't overdo it will you, can't rush getting better.

That was a fantastic bargain you got on E*ay Jane........I'm sure James's girlfriend will be more pleased with her coat than Chester was with his!!! lol He doesn't look convinced about it does he?

Kim, I love your OH's quip about the trousers........will tell mine what he said. lol I can imagine what a struggle it must be giving tablets to your cat. Those Ragdolls are huge aren't they and must be very strong too!!

Maureen, it feels like we live in a comedy series sometimes........wish I'd written down some of OH's quips over the years........maybe I should start now. lol Yes, will there be before and after pics of the house?

Glad you enjoyed your weekend Pat. How long have you been line dancing? Must help you keep fit as it always looks quite fast to me.......I'm sure I would turn the wrong way.

Anne, I just pay the standard £9.95 too......hope you stay with us.

Good to know the grandchildren are doing well at school Mandy, it must be such a worry for parents when things aren't going well. I must say I never knew the end of that rhyme.

Ann you should start to write down what your oh says as he comes out with some smashing stuff sometimes and the Action trousers would be a lovely start.

Off to bed soon. We have had the heating on the last couple of nights as the days have been clear then the frost comes at night. It burn my hydrangers last night.

Night All sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

Morning All,

Dull and dry and cold here today.

OH up on the roof stripping the tiles off. He has just come in to warm his hands up. With the sheet on the roof he says it is like working in a paper bag :-(

Hope all are ok today with their colds, ops and illnesses. I am still a bit snuffley and sneezy.

Morning Mel and all.We have another misty morning ,and a very stinky smokey one too :-S :-S.At first I thought it was a very close bonfire, but nope it is the fire.So no windows open at the moment.
I think it is going to be a day of yucky housework :-| did think about trying to clear some leaves from the front on the gravel but I'm not going to go out while the smoke is here.
Mel you make sure your OH is safe up there.

Morning Mel,
Good job we are up, otherwise the world would stop turning.

How are you all, and where are you all.????

Misserable day here again, misty damp morning, not likely to improve either.

Have just ordered 10 balls of wool for Ros. Hope it turns up tomorrow, as she would like to knit it all up into scarves for SATURDAY. !!! Will take her about 20 hours.

She's off to town this morning with Caroline, "MORE EXPENCE" going to TK MA# also to see if the hairdresser can do something with her hair before the weekend.
,
I will have another lazy day. reading my book, Started the "GODFATHER" last night. It is over thirty years since I last read it. Still remember bits of it !!! Haven't gone senile yet. No comment Jane !!

Mel, I bet your OH will be glad to see the back of this roof work, He is so active for an elder gentleman. :-D :-D :-D

Hows all the poorly animals this morning. My old cat. is curled up on the arm of the chair, and only "speaks" to me, when I go and sit down, and give him a stroke. He comes and goes as he pleases, still eating like a horse, so not much wrong with him.

Had some "JIMMI#S FARM, sausages this morning for breakfast. Worst I have ever eaten. Skins were tought and had the taste of "SOAP". The skins wouldn't brown in the pan, and generally not good. Sending complaint when I finish here,

Jane I can't believe the number of LBs there are around. We are always findind them in the bungalow. I put them out, but wonder if they will survive in this weather. I have one of those insect box's on the garage, so hopefully a lot will find that for the winter.

Put flea treatment on the cat tonight. She's not happy with me at all. She's only tiny, not big for a Ragdoll at all and very unladylike. She takes after her father Montgomery, so I'm told.

Frank glad your old puss is eating well.

Well the Carbon Tax bill was passed today, so Jane if that fire was going on here, that company would be out of business by now. This silly PM and her government will be gone next election :-|

Afternoon All

Dull and cloudy but no rain or frost.

Getting around better today and even managed to cough without being in agony.

Apart from watching the TV and reading my book I am spending the time, writing out my christmas list of chores, that will need doing later on,( might as well do something useful while I am sitting) daughter no 1 and her OH will be working on certain days inbetween Christmas and New Year so we are thinking of going down to England and seeing OH relations then bring MIL
back up to stay for a few days, so she will be able to spend time with Sofia and see the rest of the family in between all their work shifts.

OH back to work tomorrow, I have asked him to work from home till next week still want him to be around in case I need help. will need him on Friday anyway to take me back to the hospital,

Need to eat something
BBL if I can

Frank

Frank Report 8 Nov 2011 13:36

I didn't know Kim and Jane had posted.

I was going to ask about the fire, but thought better of it Jane. I can't see them being allowed to carry on that business when this is all over. How many rules have they broken. ???

Kim, another friend on mine in Aus. has gone on about your PM. sounds a right old CO#. To me, for her to not acknowledge our QUEEN was a total didgrace, Who the hell does she think she is, no respect for anyone, by the looks of things. I hope you are right, that she will be out next election.

Still raining here, and felling cold, It seems to get into your bones. :-D :-D :-D Poor old soul, I hear you say. !! Have now put the heating on.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Nov 2011 14:28

What a dreary day.Drizzle plus a bit heavier rain, now back to drizzle again.I have the heating on too .Tumble drier working hard ,and things that can't go in there (because I will shrink them ) are on the clothes horse in the main bathroom next to the radiator.

I have just put an ad in the paper to sell a fridge. It is all sparky clean in the garage now waiting for a new owner :-D

It sounds as you are a bit better each day now Fiona. It 's awful when you need a cough and don't know which bit to hold :-S

Frank I don't know how many things this company Think Environmental has done wrong. But they were fined £20,000 earlier this year for burying stuff that they should not have been handling .I think that says something about them don't you :-| :-| :-|
Is he still up there Mel?It's beginning to get dark here now.

We had a lonely looking Pheasant wandering around the garden earlier.I saw it next door this morning.Chester was barking at it through the window
:-S
Cuppa time now.
