Hello everyone,
Very humid here today around 30 degrees and a bit rumbly tonight - storm has been brewing for hours but not quite here yet.
Action Trousers - OH just asked if they have their own ballroom. Ann hope little George is soon better. Our public hospitals are pretty dirty too. All the cuts to funding does not help, really Third World over here. The private ones are tremendous, like staying in luxury.
Happy news for your family Mandy.
Good to see Fiona is on the mend. Take it easy, you must be relieved that big hurdle is out of the way now.
Watched a wonderful interview tonight with Michael Crawford. He is so versatile, but I didn't know he has had CFS for over 8 years. It is good to see him looking so well and back on the stage. I can't believe he turns 70 next year. I've always loved him as Frank Spencer.
Hi Sheila, glad to see you back.
Watched the news story with the mopping up after that shocking accident. They are saying smoke from a nearby bonfield might have caused the pile up. Those poor families!!!!
Puss is still not well, I don't think the heat is helping and she hates the pill popping.
The hairdresser came today to give me a colour and cut. It looks so much better and we got to talking about family trees. I was saying that most of my ancestors were married at St. Mary's Cathedral in Sydney, but that I'd never been inside. So silly really as I used to work just nearby, but never had the interest at that time. A wedding service there costs between $20,000 - $40,000 and if you want the bells rung it is $10,000 per chime. I couldn't believe it. Mel you should come over here and make some money :-0 I suppose only the rich and famous can afford it. I wonder what they charge for christenings??????
Jane do you think they will fine that company, sounds very dodgy with their practices.
Off for a cuppa and some tv. Hope you are all well, have a good day.

Morning from a very dark Northampton. It rained in the night, and we now have that horrible fine stuff, Lights all on, it's so dark in doors.
Hi Kim, Sorry the old cat is no better. Is he/she lying in front of the Air Con. ??? What a price to pay for a wedding service. I think I would stay over the "BRUSH" :-D :-D :-D. There dosen't seem to be the marriages going on, that we had. when we were young. It wouldn't have been allowed in the 50s/60s. I know it went on, but you never seemed to hear about it.My Mum and Dad would have gone Mad.
What's on today then folks, Shopping, washing, cleaning. I'm doing nothing, apart from shower/shave. and prepare dinner for tonight.
See you later.

Morning All Yuck ,what a miserable morning.Just like you have Frank.I had a call from Fitz at 8.15 .His son had left his Laptop at home and needed it urgently at his work, which meant Fitz having to drive to Northampton. He asked if I could go down as he was expecting the chap to fix his washing machine and couldn't risk missing him.So I took my ironing with me and did a fair bit whilst watching Jeremy Kyle :-S :-S. The engineer came and the machine is all sorted now.Fitz says his son owes us big time .So it was an Orchid for me on Saturday I wonder what today . :-D
Kim there will be a huge enquiry to do with this fire and the first one in September.I think it is all suspicious .They know the cause of the first one but are not making it public at the moment. 30 deg sheesh that is hot .I hope you manage to keep puss comfortable.
Congratulations to Gt Auntie Ann.I must have completely missed that post and ,and any comments following Ann.I am sorry.Hope you didn't think me rude not mentioning it .It is so easy to miss things sometimes.
I think I will crack on with some more of this ironing :-P

Back now just had to order the materials for our roof repair.
Mandy another grandchild, congrats to all concerned. How nice to have another baby to look for ward to next year. We shall all want a good account of whats happening.
We bought one of those steam cleaner last year but we have only used it to clean carpets after decorating. I shall have a go in the shower I think. I have never used it but oh knows all about them.
Sheila nice to hear from you. We were a bit worried about you not hearing for so long. Will April only live with you till they get settled over in the US?
Downton was really good lst night. Such a lot happened. OH said if it was the BBC it would have run for months on those story lines. Was someone talking about a Christmas Special?? I thought it was going to be the one that died who did. Not mentioning any names as I know Ann has'nt seen it yet :-D

I had a lovely weekend with my family..Saw all my children and most of my grandchildren ,It was very noisy with all the different cousins from my daughterinlaws side..But they have a big house so there was plenty of space,,
It was my youngest grandson 1st birthday..We had fireworks too..but we had the rain as well...Most of the family stayed over and of course the kids get up early lol.
Not so busy at work today..It was Eid so half the school were out.
Still drizzly here...Had to dry washing on radiators this morning..I now need to iron it..So will catch you later..I am off linedancing... tonight..

Good to see Fiona doing well, you'll soon be back to your old self and what a joy to eat normally again.
Belated birthday wishes to Mr. Mel and Mandy's son, wasn't on here yesterday, was knocking down a shed at the house. DIL did a lovely roast dinner and daughter and Harry came over too. He's such a little smiler. Congrats Mandy another grandbaby, you're doing well from one son ....lol My mum always said she did well from two children, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Ann you and your OH are like a comedy double, a lot funnier than most on the TV .
I had trouble trying to get pills down Alfie Kim, as he got bigger it got more difficult, even tried wearing leather gloves, now I crush the pill and put it on a spoon mixed with some of his dinner he comes plodding over every evening for his spoonful.
Good to see you on here Sheila, miss your stories, didn't take Beryl long to find a replacement for Donnie, have you not heard from him since he left.

Fiona ,you are getting there now.You be running a marathon before you know it ;-)
It has been a horrible day all day with mist and drizzle.I had to put Chesters coat on this afternoon when James took him out for a short walk.Neither of them were impressed lol.I did take a pic of Chester.I think he will just have it on when necessary . I am parched ,so think it must be time for a cuppa .

Family gone home now , we had to look after the little ones as it was parents day at the school ,son and DIL had to go and see their teachers , good reports ,both doing really well so that was good .
It's been a really drizzly old day here , so dark this afternoon we had to put the light on early !!!
Hope you keep with us Anne, i think what they call basic membership is that it doesn't cost you anything ,but you can only read the posts you carn't add to them or send PM's ,i pay £9.95 every six months and i'am down as standard membership.
Fiona, glad to hear that your doing well, your getting there !!
Pat, sounds as if you enjoyed your week end with the family , bet the children enjoyed the fireworks, even with the rain !!
Maureen , shed demolition now !!! you must own a pair of these Action Trousers we've been talking about LOL are we going to see some before and after photo's of the house ?
Well what can i say ...poor Chester, he didn't look at all impressed with his new coat LOL the look on his face!! LOL What a bargain you got on the coat Jane, thats a really good saving and will make a lovely presant for Christmas.
