Dull again this morning and I am off to do the church flowers later.

Sheet is tied on well with extra rope over it so it dos'nt blow up in the air. Now all we need is a good dry day for him to do the gully and reline it with lead. More Expense :-S

Morning all
I woke up this morning to the sound of...........RAIN.What a lovely sound it was too.It is so long since we have had any decent amount.I went to put on Chester coat and it is a little small :-S.So I will have to see if I can find the receipt and go and change it for the next size up.I was planning not to go out today.Never mind ,these things are sent to try us :-|
Fitz rang to say their washing machine is jammed so is wanting to use ours.His clothes are stuck in theirs and the chap can't come out to fix it until Monday,so he is bringing his OH's clothes here.

I hope Fiona had a comfortable night .

Yes we had rain this morning too, but the sun is now shining so i've chanced it and hung the washing out !!

Liz, thanks for the photo's ,you have lots of out buildings , so is the log cabin going to be built in the same place as the building already there ? there's lots of room to put your caravan too.

Haven't done much today , did wander up to the market with DIL,bought some Cox's Apples, the market just seems to get smaller then ever , i wonder how some of the stall holders make a living ,they are out there in all weather setting up and taking it all down again at the end of the day .

Better get the kettle on hubby's just rung to say he will be home early .

Very late today,

We were at the Doctors this morning. Ros to see about her new dose of patches. Gone up in strength, none in stock, will try to get them in this afternoon. I had to see the nurse, 3 lots of blood, GOT AN EMPTY ARM NOW :-D :-D :-D Back in six months.

We then went to Materlan# to try some 36" waist trousers. STILL TO TIGHT. will have to stay with my 38" for now !!! Ros bought me some slippers last week, and they were too big, so had to be changed. Nothing she liked for me so didn't bother

Home about 2pm for lunch, fresh rolls and ham with mustard. Had a read of the local paper.

Jane on local radio and in press, they say they hope to have the fire out in the next ten days, and that locals (YOU) are complaining of sore throats, from the smoke. It's been going to long now, I think the Company will find it hard to continue in business after this.

We had a lot of rain in the night, and it's rained this afternoon. very dull and cloudy now, more of the wet stuff to come.

Hope you get a dry spell Mel, so you can get the roof sorted out.

Trust Fiona is resting up, and will be fighting fit before long.

OH has been up on the porch roof and took off some tiles to se what he needs to do the job. It has been dry today so far and I have'nt done the flowers yet!!!! Just going up the church now.

Had a really busy morning! went for X-ray at 11.30. Chippenham has a lovely small hospital, and we DIDN'T have to pay to park!!! Out of there in good time as they were running early, then round to the Council Offices to sort out the fact that they don't come up this Lane to empty the recycling bins!! Not much point in supplying them if they never come to empty them! was assure by a very nice young lady that they will be collected in future! - we'll see!! Also had to sort out the Council Tax as our bungalow has been empty for so long that it had be lapsed for 2 years!!! Also had a word with the Planning Dept about our new unit! Apparently as from April this year you now have to PAY £60 for a consultation with a Planning Officer (!!!) EACH time you go to see them! can you believe it?! honestly, this poor old country of ours is turning into a nightmare! Anyhow the upshot is, that the lady who saw us was very nice, but her messages from 'on high' were NOT! They have tried to say that we shall need planning permission for our new unit, they may issue a new licence for a limited period, and we may not be granted any of it anyway!! Home we came and straight on the phone to our Sol who put us onto their Planning Expert, who said complete rubbish, We have a perpetuity lease which applies to the site and not the unit so a new lease would/could not be issued, we can put up what we like so long as it conforms with the Caravan Act of 1960, without planning permission, but the only thing they can get funny about is errecting it 'on site'! so as long as it come pre-errected so to speak there is absolutely NOTHING they can do to stop us. This chap said that these councils are all the same, fill you up with this and that to alarm you AND to make you spend money by making you argue your corner at £60 a throw!!! We are all constantly to recycle, save fuel,become Eco-friendly, then when you do, the Planning Office do their level best to scupper it! Wierd or what!!! Ian not a happy bunny, as EVERYTHING you ever do these days always seems to be a battle even if, in the end you are proved right! Oh well, off to see to that mince!!

Liz, thought you had got away from all the problems , i suppose as the bungalow has stood empty for so long ,the bin men have got to get use to coming down your lane again.
And as for having to pay £60 every time you see a planning officer , i've never heard any thing like it , i suppose as you don't need planning permission you haven't had to pay the one off payment which includes visits from the planning people as you build, so they thought they could get the money from you another way !!!

My washing never got dry ,it was as wet as when i first put it out , its now on the linen horse .

Looks like it will be a wet bonfire night tomorrow ,poor old Toby's not keen on the bangs :-S

Evening All,

We have had more rain too.....it has fetched a lot more leaves off the trees so they are looking very wintery now. I still think it is very mild, went out in short sleeves this morning.

We made a couple of bracelets today, one using knitted wire tube that you push some beads inside and then thread it through other beads. A bit scratchy for me! We then did charm bracelets which was good as we learned to make our own rings and pins from wire. Sheryl has taken mine home to put elastic thread in it to make the chain scrunch up as she had forgotten to bring any with her!! I have noticed we are all bringing bigger bags with us each week as we are gathering more materials!! Next week we can either do tiaras or brooches. :-)

I am quite tempted to go to the Craft Fair at the NEC on Sunday, I bet there will be some unusual things on sale there.

OH has decided to go on the minibus to the Workington match tomorrow. Because he is doing a slot for Radio Leicester he will get in free and they will pay him as well so he thinks it is a good idea!! lol I did get the option to say 'no' though. I must admit I prefer him driving his own car on long trips as he doesn't tear about, but the new minibus is governed so it won't go above 60mph so that is better.

Liz, I so agree with you about things in this country becoming a nightmare. You are lucky to have no charges at the hospital carpark. Ours have just been put up and by 50% in some instances. In one breath they are talking of us helping look after relatives in hospital and on the other they are they are trying to make it so we can't afford to even visit!! Councils, don't get me on another hobby horse!! We all see how they waste money in all kinds of ways, yet their first thought with any cuts is 'pass it on' some way, not what 'they' can do to economise. Fancy them charging £60 for a consultation with the Planning Dept! Years ago, they wanted you to work closely with them to get things right, now they will end up with people doing their own thing and not telling them. I wonder if they would be equally happy paying for your solicitor costs when they have given you wrong advice?

Ann, that's a pretty bracelet , your making some lovely pieces, i'am so jealous, i wish i could have a go , have you decided which you will make next week, brooches are back in fashion now again , i remember my nanny having some Brooches with those pretty shiny stones that sparkled in all different colours , in fact i think i still have them in a tin some where .

It is a shame you can't find a class Mandy, I am really enjoying it now,more than I thought I would. If I can find some little flower beads the right size and colours I think I will do a brooch..........I can't see me using a tiara!! lol Mind you with proms and fancy dress as well as brides, I suppose they are much in demand. :-D :-D I hope your cold is a lot better today......can you say plum jam?

What weather we have been having..My washing has been on the airer all day as well.. Tomorrow I am at my sons for the weekend.I hope it doesnt rain for the fireworks we have.....It will be my youngest grandsons first birthday..Hope to see most of my grandchildren..
Work was very busy today...Still short staffed...

OH is outside already but not sure what he is up to yet.

Hope Jane can get on here today. Chris is working so she has to walk Chester this morning which has'nt pleased her at all.
