Loved the Halloween card Frank, thank you...... and I still can't work out that number on the door one :-S Has his 'lordship' favoured you with any 'cut and paste' yet?

Jane, if any of us ladies at work got a tape measure out, the men would start queuing up!!! lol

Mel I love things cooked in cider, makes the gravy tasty.

I did chicken but it would have been nicer with pork I think.

It's all gone anyway. It was a new jar called Country Wise only 79p in mor**sons I also bought one for beef with ale in it.

OH is watching a program on ice. It;s quite interesting.

I emailed them about the problems Mandy. Maybe you will get yours tomorrow if they are giving them to everyone. Yes, there is a class tomorrow. I have just stuck a ruler in my bag as I think we may need one this time!

I think we will be going to see a film, 'Contagion' after my class.......OH thinks it will be good.....hope he's right. :-S

A plastic clip thing has come off the kitchen blind and OH has kinked one of the slats trying to get it back on. They had to come out to it in the warranty period for the same thing and of course it is now out of the warranty! I think I may ring them though, nothing to lose, as it was obviously not as it should have been for it to have happened again. Will see what they say. One good thing about being retired is having time to follow these things up. :-D

Did anyone see the fantastic David Attenborough programme last night, the first of the series, Frozen Earth I think it was called. How amazing all those killer whales surrounded the poor seal on an ice floe and were poking their heads and bodies right up out of the water to see what the prey was. Then they whacked their tails up and down together in the water all around it to make waves to break the ice it was on. Poor seal, but amazing the whales are so clever to work these things out. I'm really looking forward to the other programmes in the series.

Well i'll wait and see Ann, but i won't hold my breath !!

What ever are you making tomorrow that you would need a ruler for ? carn't wait to see it .

I'am not keen on the wild life programes that show animals being killed by other animals , i know they have to eat to live ,but i just carn't watch it !!

Just watched Joanna Lumley in the third one of the Greek Odyssey , very interesting .

Off up the wooden stairs now .

Mandy my goodness you are up early. Just lost my post in the middle of typing.

I did get the email and the 30 credits. I didn't complain, but I did make comments on the facebook thread about how frustrating it all was.

The boyfriend wrote off his car yesterday - he is fine apart from a sore hand. Luckily my daughter wasn't with him. She is all over the place at the moment and screaming at all of us. I might be looking for a padded cell very soon, lol.

Will respond to your posts later when I give it another try. Have a good day everyone.

You are an early bird Mandy.

We expect to see our Kim on here early but not you.

I have decided I MUST do a LOT of ironing today. I keep doing the washing and not the ironing. Just as few bits here and there so OH has a clean shirt if he is going out.

Kim hope the boyfriend is not too shaken up with the bump.

Jane Report 28 Oct 2011 10:26

Morning everyone.
Thank goodness the Boyfriend is alright and your Daughter wasn't there at the time of the accident Kim.A padded Cell would give you a bit of peace and quiet !!.It can't be a pleasant atmosphere at home Kim.Lets hope things will settle soon and normal service resumed.

Mandy ,hope Tobey's tum is ok now,and you haven't had to do any cleaning up :-S.Does he eat loads of grass like Chester when he is not feeling good?

I am going into town in a while. The Fire Service apparently are doing a Road show about the fire.So I am dragging Fitz along with me.I think it is important to see what it is all about.

Back later this afternoon.

Morning Mandy,
Morning Kim
Morning Mel
Morning Jane.

Kim ,Glad the daughter's boyfriend was ok, I have been in that situation already this year with daughters & boyfriends in car accidents, It's a nightmare to think what could have happened,

Lovely sunny day here, still in my nightie, one of the ladies from church lent me the Bleak House DVD and i watched some of it while I was having my breakfast, only time I get peace to watch my DVD's when I am in the house alone.

OH phoned this morning early to say he was in the airport and had 2 hours to wait till his flight was due, pleanty of time for some breakfast, say's he's desperate for a good cup of tea, never has one when he's working abroad, he is due home about 1pm so I better make sure the kettle on roundabout that time.

At least he will have a break sometime next week, he is working from home on Monday as I have a hospital appointment at 4,30
He will go into work Tuesday, then he is on holiday from Wednesday till the following Tuesday, so he can keep an eye on me till I get back on my feet.

Well I better move my self and get dressed,

Afternoon you lot !!!!

Home alone now. Caroline came round and the three of them have gone off. Lewis is swimming this afternoon, then they will go around Tesc#. Not sure what time his Mum is coming for him , If she rings, I have to ring Madam so she can be back in time.
Lewis tried to show me copy and paste this morning. But a notice came up saying I haven't enough space, and to clear some. I don't know how or what to clear. So will wait till Conrad comes.

Thanks Ann/Mel, the Marriage certicicate arrived this morning. What do I do with it now.????

Weather is so mild this morning, and plenty of Sun and blue sky's Ros has a line of washing out, but it's not moving, not sure if it will dry today.
When I opened the conservatory door this morning, it looked like the fence was on fire. Steam rising from the wet fence, from ther overnight rain.

I see that the Student who was crushed to death was at a Caribbian night at the night club. The students had travelled from all over Britain to be there.
Where the hell do they get their money for travel, booze, tickets, etc etc. No wonder they are up to their eyes in debt. I'm on my soap box again this morning. Now going to have words with the Council, about the state of the footpaths.!!!! If I fall over walking on them, I will sue their ars# off. Down our close, where people park on the path/road. it's breaking up so badly, and fills with rain when it's wet.

Trust you all have an enjoyable afternoon, whatever you might be doing.

Evening All
What a lovely day .Back to sleeveless top again :-D.That thing I went to earlier was a waste of time really. No answers, just a bit of PR.
After that I went for a Chinese with Fitz.I wish I hadn't really as it was so stuffy in there, and I'm not that keen on eating much at lunchtime.I felt a bit icky to be honest.

Frank this half term seems to have gone very quickly.I bet Lewis will miss his 'Pappy'. :-(

Glad Toby is ok now Mandy.I am thinking that I may see if I can whip Chester in to the vet tomorrow morning as I think his little end claw is causing him to limp.If not I will get them to have a look at it when he goes for his op on Tuesday

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 28 Oct 2011 18:47

Oh poor old Chester , the vets seems to be his second home lately .

It has been a lovely day ,but i now let Toby out and its chilly out there now , must remember that the clocks have to put back tomorrow night , be dark early on Sunday

Ann, another master piece , i love them all , where are you keeping them , have you one of those Jewelry stands ?

David

David Report 28 Oct 2011 19:14

Sight test this morning. All OK no need to change prescription.
See optician 2 years from now to do it all again.

Cylinder head gasket on my Passat has gone so it's now a non runner.Had a very expensive estimate to repair it without a guarantee. So short of a new engine I want a new car.

Considering the possibility of leasing........

Jane

Jane Report 28 Oct 2011 19:27

David ,Chris leases his car. After 3 years he has the choice of changing to a new one or paying so much to keep it.He has done this with Volvo for a long time now.

Annx

Annx Report 28 Oct 2011 20:40

Evening All,

Another lovely day, but indoors in shops etc.........very stuffy as you say Jane. Poor old Chester will be taking a list to the vets, what with his sore paw now as well.

Poor Toby got 'taken short' in the night too but good that he seems ok again. I nearly got up at 6.20am as a big van arrived at the bottom of the close then and it sounded as if they were loading scaffold poles by all the noise there was. OH slept through it all!!

Mandy, I am using a craft box with the square dividers in to keep the things I make in at the moment!! Stops things tangling. I have always wanted to make a picture sized shallow box with screws in to hang jewellery in.......a bit like a bigger version of those you keep keys in. It would have a picture in the hinged glass door and would look like a deep framed picture on the wall!! I don't suppose I will ever get round to it though. :-S

OH is off to Darlington with a pal to the match tomorrow and I have decided not to go as it will be a very long day. I just noticed one of his brake lights wasn't working today so he's not best pleased at having to get that fixed first thing.

Leasing sounds a good option to look at David....worth finding out about first.
