When I was working in the Moror trade. New cars always came with the radio seperate. We had to code them before the customer collected them. With second hand cars, we had to contact the manufactures with Chassis no. Reg No. and pay anything up to £45.00 to get the code retrived from their records.

Will have to get Conrad to show me how to copy and paste. Mel did teach us all last year, but, if like me you don't do it ofen, you forget.!!! NOT WHAT YOU ARE THINKING JANE !!!

Many, What is Norwich like these days ?? When I left it in 1959. there was Unthank Road. near to Cringleford Bridge where I would start hitch hiking to London A11. We would go dancing down by the Railway station on Sunday evenings in one of the Hotels. I did call back to the old RAF unit at Old Catton in 1961. and there was a new houseing estate. The "WOODMAN" pub was still in the village, by the crossroads. There was a butchers there also where we would turn out his dustbins to get maggots for our fishing trips to Wroxham. I was thinking of moving there when I got married. But of course No work for us Londoners.

Only last Monday sitting in the hospital did we think to change the time on our mobile phones. As for the car that only gets changed if I think about it.

David If you are going to get it wrong, DO IT BIG TIME>!!!! Any news on the house front. ????.

1.02pm

Afternoon all, Had a lazy morning. Up at 7.00 many cups of tea, egg sandwich this morning with ketchup.very nice it was too.
All O.K. with the wound, the swab she took last week was all clear. So thats good.
We have agreen to have stew again tonight, so no cooking. Got a big chicken out for tomorrow. So Roast, with pots, parsnips, and veg. might do a rice pudding with it while the oven is on.

Who's got a shiney sleave then.??? dirty little girl.!!!!

Mel, We tend to see a lot of wagtails around our front garden having a barny with our blackbirds. It's so funny to see them, they are so quick and the blackies don't know where they are gone, then they are back, and off it goes again.

Coldish wind out this morning and very cloudy. Looks like rain. The forcast was bright sunshine !!!

Mel, I see you ARE ONLY 2% where's the other 98% gone.????

Anne, you must think yourself very lucky to be able to pop into York for shopping. I've only been there once, when I was up there when 17 years old, went to Old Mother Shiptons Wishing Well, at Knarsborough, They say that if the third crack appears in the Bridge there. It will be the end of the world. Have you heard of that ???? What a lovely part of the Country.!! I stayed in Bradford. and went to the famous theatre there. is it the ALAMBRA ???

Jane

Jane Report 2 Feb 2011 13:45

Frank .it was my eyes I was wiping not my nose !!!!!!!.I just kept having to sniff until I got home lol
That wind is picking up now and it's feeling a bit raw.I am in two minds as to light the fire or not.Probably not.
These poor people in Queensland.First the floods and now this massive storm just about to hit them. They must be very scared.

I have just got a big mug of coffee and am going to watch Doctors before starting on the next lot of ironing.

Afternoon All

Firstly my apologies to Mandy as I sent recipe to Mel instead!!! I often wonder just what I use as a brain somedays.

Frank Yes I live in a lovely part of the country, York is 30mins on the train and the best time to visit is winter when we have fewer visitors. When we go to the theatre we take the car but, as the station is fairly central and parking so expensive its as easy to go on the train for shopping.
We go occasionally to Bradford to the Alhambra and are next visit is in March to the ballet. It's about 1hour 15mins drive so not too bad really.
We can alsobe in Leeds or Newcastle within an hour so we are very lucky.
As we have a mainline station I can be in London in just over 2hrs on the fast train so we can enjoy both the countryside and the city easily.

The weather has been better than we thought today as we have had no rain just a strong wind. We were going to go birding this morning but decided to go into town to get the suntan cream instead and hubby will spend tomorrow at our local bird reserve while I spend his money!! ( I am very good at that )
I am cooking a large casserole which has a little meat and lots of veg including carrots, squash, garlic, peppers, mushrooms, tinned toms onions and lots of other odds and ends. I call this my using everything up casserole and it will feed us tomorrow and Friday.
Tonight we are having roasted mackerel and roasted veg. We eat large quantities of fruit and veg and our local grocer is very happy when I walk into his shop.
I try to support our local tradesmen as much as possible as I am very aware of food miles, so if the pennies allow, I try to buy local produce.
Well enough of my waffle hope everyone is having a good day and had a good night last night.

Hi Everyone. Just to let you all know that we both had better nights last night, so have felt more 'with it' today. Managed to strip wash the patient this am, not before time!!!! tomorrow I want to wash his hair, hasn't been done for over a week and, even though it is a bit thin........Oh dear!!!! had to have the District Nurse this pm, as I thought the 'wound' looked a bit yucky, but it is Ok, so that's good. A friend has 'given' me a shower stool which is great for strip washes, no good for us on the showering front as our shower is over the bath and the stool is too wide which is pity but not to worry! Patient eating better today as well, little and often, tonight I've made a Fish Pie which should go down well (hope so!!) What a horrid day it's been weatherwise! this evening is so dark and rain just tipping down! Poor old Merlin has got a patient look on his face, bit of a thin time for him, but can't be helped. Am a bit worried about my cousin as she and her family live in Queensland, they were affected by the flood a bit, now this awful Hurricane, just hope they'll be OK. Anne I sometimes make a casserole like the one you described, just using up odds and ends; I was brought up not to waste anything food wise, or anything at all come to that, I think that was because I was a 'War Baby' and things were so scarce during and after the War ! must away and make a COT. Frank, I'm glad Ros's wound seems so much better, you take care of yourself as well!!! Hope everyone is OK and taking care!

Anne do you grow any veg ? Chris has big plans this year to grow much more than we usually do!!!.I have a feeling that we will be over run .He showed me a packet of seeds yesterday of some kind of red runner bean!!

I watched the Red Kites from my bedroom window when I was ironing.I could see the face of one so clearly. There were 3 of them.A little later I spotted a rabbit nibbling the lawn by the Yew hedge. It spotted one of the Kites heading its way and shot under the hedge lol

Saw a small flock of Linnets at Bedlington on Saturday.
A rare sighting.
They are as big as a Thrush with red breasts.

Hi Just arrived back from Wales gosh it was cold and April fell over while we went to buy her some clothes in Rhyl she grazed her leg badly.

Well the animals have all gone Jane the man who had the pig planned to have it killed uncle Bryne found out he said it was too house trained and poor Rashers Porkers whoever was trying to go indoors all the while and one day did and ate the daily newpaper which was on the hall floor.

I was horrified and a childrens project was looking for animals for children with special needs .I contacted a lady called Mrs Tidy what a lovely name however she was not when I saw her she looked like worzels wife. However she agreed to buy the piggy the new sheep and the horse if whoever had him would agree to part with them. I had to go and see a man who was glad to return the horse free he said due to the markings he could not get any interest in it at all. Uncle Bryne was wonderful and paid out a bit of cash to these people who felt they had bought useless animals
They will be going to farm and will be childrens pets on Saturday. I felt really pleased with myself like I did when I raised with my friend Sophia one thousand pound for charity. But glory was short lived when Mrs Tidy suddenly died of a heart attack and we thought for a while her project would not go through but her sons stepped in. But poor lady.

Aprils got a puppy called Jet being a black and white shepherd dog
and they have found a little cottage in Rhyl called Roses and it is full of roses in the garden.I do not know if they will take it yet. Jessica looks weird really thin and not I am trying to get her down here until the baby comes but Aprils schooling is the problem.
love all your threads take care .
LIz I do hope your ho will feel better soon
Frank glad Ros is improving.

Mel the panto was great and April talks of nothing but her orange ring and
uncle Julian ,Cuddles the monkey saying the balcony was loose with all the children in it and Orville and Keith Harris she said he is rude because he keeps his hand up Orvills bum. iI think that child is a case she never stops making me smile even though I have been so sad and missed Mohsen to the point of crying each day .In spite of what he said to Michelle about the baby not being his. LOVE TO ALL

Yes Mel todays episode was a bit odd.I find they pop one in like that now and again.Yesterdays one had me in tears.I'm not too sure about this new receptionist though at the moment.

Sheila,I am so pleased that you have found somewhere nice for the animals to go,especially as children will be able to enjoy them.Poor Mrs Tidy.Thank goodness for her sons stepping in.
I hope Jess and April soon settle into a new house and that Jess is looking after herself and April. You say Jess is still so thin,I assume she is still not eating properly.I hope the Baby will be alright. It must be a real worry for you.
I hadn't realised that Moshen had said the baby wasn't his !!.How cruel.I hope Michelle is ok.

David ,I'm not sure if I have ever seen Linnets.I may have done but not known.

Brisket again tonight lol. After me saying I wouldn't do it again too.It went on at 10. 30 and we probably won't eat until maybe 7.30 .So it better be good.
I should have had celeriac in the pot ,but I forgot to buy it.Hannah is not keen on Brisket so I have got a ready made Sheep Sh*t pie for her.She can have some of the veg out of the slow cooker.
I love that name Sheep Sh*t.It just trips off the tongue lol
Another one I like is one my sister says.it is' Iffits'..It means if it's there they will have it.A bit of this and a bit of that.Just whatever needs to be eaten up lol
