I saw the Hattie film ann but not right from the begining.

John was a dear old fellow was'nt he. I loved him in Dads Army. I always watch the replays of that even though I have seen them many times before they still make me laugh.

We don't watch the Carry On Films as OH hates them.

Liz I do feel for you and Ian. What an awful thing to have had an op like that and then be bound up. You will have to feed him lots of nice greens, they always work for me. Or a couple of prunes in the mornings.

Glad they are sorting Ian out Liz, Don't stand any nonsence, we pay their wages.!!!!

Heard from Shirl. this afternoon. Things are getting back to some normality. Very cold out there minus 28 last week. Getting warmer 13 below today. !!!! with more snow.

Conrad and Jan came this afternoon for lunch/dinner. Not only did I prepare it, I cooked it, dished it all up on dishes and bowls, gravy boat cheese sauce boat. They ate their fill, and sat down on the sofa. Leaving me to clear away and do all the washing and wipeing up. Putting everything away. Then about 5.45 I said "who wants a cup of tea and cake" yes please. so off I go again to do it. I was not the happiest bunny in the burrow !!!!

My Dad would have been 125 years old.

Mel, I must admit I don't miss having to go down the garden every morning to do the girls.

Going to watch Wild at heart, then Larkrise, which we recorded

Oh Liz , i hope your hubby is more comfortable now and has a better night .

Frank, that's a bit naughty ,they could at least have offered to help clear away ,you had fed them after all!!!
I get a bit riled sometimes when they all go and sit down and they're chatting away while i'am sorting out things in the kitchen , i must admit they all say thank you for the meal before they go home .

Will say Night Night ,now just watching the skating result then we're off to bed ,see you all tomorrow xx

That was rather thoughtless of them Frank. I think if you had done all the prep and cooking, then they could have done the rest, even if they left things for you to put away after as you know where they go.

MIL was saying today that she was having a perm this Thursday, so on the day before when we are all going to Bradford she would be looking a right Raggedy Ann !! We both asked each other who this was after we got home as neither of us knew. I googled it and Raggedy Ann was a character in a childrens book at the time MIL was a little girl!!!

Night night All.........hope everyone has a good sleep tonight, especially Ian and Liz .....zzzzzzzzzzzz xxxx.

Bright and sunny with a hard frost again.

Welcome Helen any more memories. I was a great fan of Pan Yan Pickle and yes it was yellowy.

I have heard of Raggerdy Ann from mum. She used to say I looked like her when going up the stables or more recently going up the garden!!

Good morning dear hearts, Hope you are all well.

Nurse just left, everything ok. She was saying Liz, that the body takes up to six weeks to get out of the system. Is that right Nurse Jane????

Both sleept well lat night. The bottle of red with dinner and the evening helped me. Have started another Miss Marples story last night. only about 100 pages long, so you don't get bored with the story line.

Laid and listend to some old sixties music in bed last night. "KEITH SKEWS! ???? on local radio. He also went though all the different things that has happend in history on the 30th January. Very interesting.

Hope Ian had a better night Liz, we are all thinking of you both.

Morning All just

What a lovely morning with clear blue sky sunshine and just a touch of frost.
We had a lie in this morning with breakfast at 10am very relaxing after last week Hubby and I just saying that we used to do the panto and go to work but not sure we could now. I guess you slow down to fill the available time.
I spent 20minutes cleaning out the soap dispenser in the washing machine!! I could not believe how dirty it was inside but now feel virtuous as I know its lovely and clean.
We have got the cases down from the loft and are starting to think of warmer weather. I checked BBC weather yesterday and its around 19 to 20 degrees and that will suit us nicely.
My washer is making funny noises now so I guess it does not like being cleaned!!
Hubby still has a touch of conjunctivitis so he is going to see the Dr again this afternoon.
Frank I hope you are feeling better this morning and Ros is continuing to improve. Were your visitors family yesterday?? I do have trouble getting Benjamin into the kitchen to help but Fiona always offers bless her, but I must admit they do make a lot more work.
Liz I hope Ian continues to improve and you both managed a good nights sleep last night.
Jane I wish we could see Red Kite easily. We live between two release sights but there are too many gamekeepers around here and too much shooting!!

It is nice to hear people are getting better.Just today's update from Liz to say Ian is doing well and that will be all the 'poorlies' on the mend.
I have just made some Parsnip and Carrot soup.I bought 2 big bags of them from Tes** last week and had quite a few left and they were just beginning to go a bit soft.I have never made it before or even had it.I think it tastes really nice.I hope Chris and Hannah like it too.I know Chris will add lots more salt and black pepper as I tend to hold back a bit on the seasoning.

I had a call from James a while ago.He was on his way back to Uni after being to London for a morning of tests for some job that he is trying for when he graduates.I just wish I new what it was,but he can't say.Maybe he going to be a spy lol
Cup of tea due now I think ......................16.30

Hi Gang, Better day today! Ian's been downstairs sitting in the armchair and feeling a bit perkier. He managed a boiled egg and two pieces of toast for breakfast, several cuppa's,and some soup for lunch. A muddle up with his prescription today though!! We were asked to pick it up at 4pm, and when we rang the dispensary was shut, (it's only opened 3 mornings and two evenings a week!!) and we were told to pick the prescription up and take it to the Chemist to be dispensed!!!! well, as I can't leave Ian on his own in case he gets taken short, so we had asked a friend to pick the meds up at the surgery after 4pm. Obviously they can't do a prescription at the chemist without proof that it is for us!!! SO, meds are now being picked up tomorrow at the Health Centre!!! What a performance!! good job it's not pain killers!! Think the problem with car has been run to earth, it seems that it is the 'Control Unit' that is the culprit, hopefully I will be mobile SOON. Must go and do Merlin's dinner and walk poor old Millie. Another upday tomorrow!!!! Once again, thanks for all your concern.

Great News Liz.He'll go from strength to strength now.I bet you feel really stuck without your car. It's when you don't have them you realise how much you depend on them. It's good to have good friends who can help out when needed.

Very mysterious Jane !!! i wonder what it is ...... JAMES BOND !!!! lolol

There was a terrible accident near our Tes*o's yesterday ,the car hit a tree , woman driver thrown through the windscreen died, male passenger in Addenbrookes hospital ,and three young children taken to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital ,the car was cut in two with the impact.

Well at least they have found out whats wrong with your car Liz, so you soon be back on the road again .

Really chilly out there now .

Mmm! I wonder Mandy.I wish he could say,as I hate not knowing .Not that I'm nosy or anything lol,but I just would like to know what kind of job it is .
I think I heard about that terrible accident on the news earlier.I just heard something about there being 3 children and thinking that it was somewhere near you.

Something has set me sneezing!I have just done about 8 lol.It might be the fireplace as I cleared it out about an hour ago.
My soup and Baked Potatoes tonight.Easy stuff. It could be a bit windy here tomorrow ,with root veg soup and baked beans !! lol.I may give the soup a miss ,and pretend I had some for lunch.

Afternoon All,

Glad to hear Ian is doing better now Liz......and that you should get you car back soon........I would be lost without my wheels.

The Wii is very addictive Fiona. lol Sofia makes sure she is not left out then!

OH loves parsnip soup Jane. I bet it will be lovely and warming!!

We went a walk around the Reservoir this morning and it was quite frozen around the edges. It never looks as far as it is when you set off but it is 2 and a half miles.....far enough!! OH has decided his walking boots have had their day as his toe was chafing and there is a small split between the sole and upper. He was muttering away and reckoning that he needed a larger size as well, so I said 'Oh are you saying that you are too big for your boots then!!' He was stuck for words for once and had to laugh!!
