Morning all,
What sad news Jane, I bet he is well P###ed off with 2012/2013. before this year has got started. How can he cope with all this sorrow ???
I woke at b6.10 am. thinkiing it was 9.10 am. I thoughjt what a dark horrible morning I had woken up too !!!! I soon realised, and got my head down again till 9.30 am.
I have only had tea this morning and Ros nothing. To full up from yesterday.
The heated trolley did it's job well yesterday Jane. !! everything kept nice and warm. THANKS AGAIN. It fits in just right next to the radiator.
Lara and Andy came yesterday with the little Sophia, She was a real darling, beening passed around everyone, and never made a sound. She laid in my arms and fell asleep. When it was time for home Lara transfered her to a quilted all in one and put her in her travel seat. You could hardly see her amongst all the covers.
I think tonight will be Fillet steak chips mushrooms, onions and peppered sauce. Lunchtime I have Mackrel fillets in the fridge that need eating, so I will have that with a bit of B & B and horseraddish sauce.
More cheese and wine from Jammie (Julia's Son) and shortcake from Lara. What with all the chocs, we will be eating them till Easter.
Doctors tomorrow afternoon, results of my X ray and blood tests are in. I also want to find out about these injections he wants to put into my KNEE BONES What do you say NURSE JANE ????
We have decided it's a bum around day today. I am all showered and in joggers and T shirt. Thats me till bedtime.
Will start a new book today, finished the last one at 1.30 am this morning.

I have put all the small Christmas shelf & wall decorations away and tidied up the kitchen, OH starts work tomorrow, so I wanted the place almost back to normal. I have been good and have had plenty of rests in between I was warned not to over do it.
The tree will come down on Saturday, also I have to clear my old standing wall display cupboards, , they are going to the skip for both have missing handles and 1 shelf was broken, New sideboards come on Monday. I am really excited , can't wait. he he :-) :-) :-D

Afternoon everyone,
Dull and wet here but not at all cold ,no heating on ,i think the house got really warmed up yesterday with all the people here and having the oven on all the morning . I think everyone enjoyed the day ,have some beef and turkey left and lots of veg so it will be bubble and squeak tonight with pickles . Hubby has been helping me put all the china ,glasses and cutlery away ,he hoovered round while i sorted out some washing we then popped to Tes*o's to get some milk .
Frank , sounds as if you enjoyed a good spread yesterday ,and nice that you were both over the bug to enjoy it.
What a sad start to the new year for your nephew in law Jane and 55 is no age at all is it . I could just make out the deer on the photo, reminded me of the time we went out for a meal and driving home rounded a corner to be faced with all these deer in the middle of the road !! some of them were huge ,we seem to have lots this way ,i had one jump over a hedge in front of the car once missed it by inches !!
When is everyone taking their decorations down ? i think ours will come down tomorrow , then it will be out with the duster !!
Hubby's now having a doze ,i might catch up with the Downton Abbey i recorded ,just got to get another load of washing out first .

YAWN, YAWN, Been relaxing with David Attenborough on SK# 2 out in the Galapogos islands. Very intweresting, but also so easy to drop of to sleep with.
Conrad and Jan are coming over on Saturday to take down our decorations. Ros had a job getting them all up this year, so it will be a help for her. All the big box's are in the garage, so Conrad can manage that side of things. They may well stay for an evening takeaway.
Now, Now, Fiona, not too much work all at once, there is always another day tomorrow.
I had my smoked mackerel for lunch. While I was buttering my bread I thought of my mum. She always said "look after the corners and the middle will look after it's self" I'm sure a lot of you have heard of that saying, without my explanation.
David, That wasn't a very nice exp[erience to go through. Are you feeling O.K. today ???
Tried to bleed my kitchen radiator this morning. Can't find the key !!!! and the slit in the bleed nipple is bured so can't do it with the screwdriver. Conrad can look at that on Saturday..
Ros had a beautiful case for Christmas, from Harvey and Julia, It has lots of little compartments and draws, so she can put all the jewellery making stuff in one place. She is having a sort out while we speak. I just looked at it and it looks like a doctors case, I expect a neddle to come out ant minute and for her to give me an injection.
It hasn't got light here all day, the sky looks full of rain. I hope it's not the white stuff.!!
Cup of tea time, see you later.

Gloomy old day today, but have been VERY busy. This morning, 'I' had a doctors appointment, then he went shopping, so was able to have a good clean round. Washing sorted, folded and put away, garlic bread and soup for lunch. After that, cleaned cooker from top to toe, took Millie a LONG walk, then got Coffee Maker out of store, cleaned it thoroughly, now ready for use. 'I' made another gate for Merlin's yard so he can now see over it properly; the old one was solid and too high for him - new one is much better. At present having a cuppa before getting supper! A busy day is a happy one as my old Granny used to say!! Feel pretty chuffed!

Hi folks, how are we all doing today. Carmel suggested first thing this morning that we go into Coventry, have breakfast at Ik*a, then do a bit of shopping. So great minds think alike Ann. Anyway, we caught the No 20 bus when we would have been better with the 48. We were watching the time to get into Ik*a before 11am and the 20 stopped at all the stops and also, it seemed, the fares had gone up. So all the paying passengers were caught on the hop fishing around for extra change. Not only that we had hold ups from traffic lights and even a push bike! To add insult to injury, the 48 actually passed our bus. Anyway, we got to the store with 5 minutes to spare. had our brekky then went in search for a replacement for my diary that had gone missing here (or elsewhere?). I always have a A5 day to a page diary and do you think we could find one? Everywhere we went they had week to a page and that was all. Eventually just before we got the bus home we called in at the Wilk* store in Cathedral Lanes and managed to find one there. We did get some other shopping, not much, but we were glad to get home by 2.30pm. Did I mention that we just caught the 48 home? Got on and off it sailed, hardly any stops, hardly any traffic lights and a nice polite thoughtful driver. All's well that ends well.
Maureen, your Mum was right, being thrifty always pays off for someone. If we see a coin on the ground in the street, we always pick it up and pop it in the Mary Ann Evan's Hospice box, it's surprising how these abandoned coins mount up. Wasn't there an old saying, in for a penny, in for a pound?
You know we were discussing children yesterday on here. Well, the bus we went into Cov on, there was a woman in the seat in front of us with two children. She never left off 'nagging' at them, and they were as good as gold. The little girl who was about 8 was sat in the side seat and kept trying to see out of the window only she had to stretch up to see. Her mother kept telling her to sit round and keep still. It was getting on my nerves so I don't know about the child. I felt like leaning over and saying - 'she's a little girl for goodness sake, what harm is she doing' - but of course you don't, do you? Then if you do see a child that is misbehaving and kicking up, the adult usually takes no notice, or says they are 'expressing themselves'.
Now I've written all my so called news, I back track and read the threads. C Y A L

Evening Everyone William I have been to that Ik**.I have to be honest and say I don't really like traipsing around such a massive place.I always seem to get lost lol I did go twice .The first time was with Hannah to get her stocked up with things for going off to Uni (pots pans utensils you name it) and the same with James.I think everyone else there was doing the same thing.I like the Meatballs :-D and Chris likes the ground coffee that they sell.
Liz you clever stick .Making a new gate for Merlin.Bless him .Fancy not being able to see over the old one :-(He will be a happy horsey now :-D :-D
Frank it is my other Nephew William (married to Janice's daughter) whose Mum had died.I haven't heard anything today from Janice but will give her a ring later.
I have been trying out the new Steam Boost machine .I think I am going to like that one :-D :-D :-D.James might try the carpet steam cleaner tomorrow as he has had a good clearing out of his room.I have a feeling you Frank might have the same one(Bisse**) I think you said that you now had the cleanest shower ever and that Ros had done the lounge carpet just before Christmas. How long does it take for carpet to dry??
Dentist for me tomorrow :-S :-S Just a check up ,but I think I might have had a little bit of a filling come out as I was crunching on something the other day.Plus I have a rather sensitive bit (with cold things). I think Fitz is coming around at lunch time now all their visitors have gone.It seems ages since I saw him.(before Xmas). There is a film I would like to see at the cinema so might suggest we go sometime. It is called Quartet.I keep seeing it advertised on TV
Mel ,any more activity on the night camera? David poor you.Had you better not go and get yourself checked out.You say about hearing your heart and lungs.Do you think that could be a stress thing?Bit like a panic attack type of thing.Maybe it was your bad dream making your heart beat faster. The pain (Arthritis?).I don't know. But you do sound a bit under par at the moment.
Oh Oh I think Crispy Duck is ready for James and Jess so I better get it and all bits dished and they can feed themselves.Chris has only just walked in so we won't be eating for a while yet. Maybe BBL

Hi all, What's HOLBY doing on a Wednesday evening ???
Liz, I think you must award yourself some Brownie points, doing all that work today, makes me feel guilty. I haven't lifted a finger all day.
Jane when Ros cleans the lounge carpet, she gets a load of old towels out and puts them in the WALKING AREA. It drys fairly quickly, and the towels stop dirty footprints, from those dissapearing slippers :-D :-D :-D
I haven't bothered eating tonight. Ros made herself a turkey curry, which she fancied. Thats the last of it. I am recording Mid summer, and watching David Attenborough.
My, hasn't it turned mild. The heating came on on the time clock, and I had to turn it down. Still like a turkish bath in here. U/pants and slippers for me.
I feel so guilty having spent the day on the computer playing cards, or watching Tele. But they do say a bit of what you fancy does you good.
How are you doing with the CATS, Mel.?? I had all three of the little blighters on the lawn this afternoon, looking for food. !!
Just popping on to Ebay.

I am not putting food out now for the cats. I hav'nt put the camera out for a couple of nights as it takes me ages to go through the pics on it and I don't get anything done!
We had cold meats and bubble and sqeak tonight and the squeak was really nice.
I shall watch Midsomer M on catch up. I watched the Attenbough program although I don't lik eit when animals kill one another. The Rhino's were interesting though.

Morning All, LOL,
I'm late to bed tonight so have just popped in! That's the film I said we would be seeing this week Jane, the one with Maggie Smith in. We're seeing it tomorrow, it looks as if it should be funny doesn't it.
William, that is a pretty new Ikea that is in Coventry isn't it? I must admit I never thought to go to that one and it would have been nearer as well.
'See a penny, pick it up and all day long you'll have good luck'. is a saying my mum would say.
Frank......that was a real feast by the sound of it. Still not found your 'invisible' slippers then?? I wonder when they will turn up.
Well, silly me, I went for my blood test this morning without my FORM so had to go back with it later! I was glad to see they had put a hand sanitiser next to the booking in screen since my last visit. :-D I've got a massive bruise now where the nurse made her first failed attempt with the needle. :-S
OH put the bookcases together and has almost filled them already!! He also made a start on clearing out some cupboards over the wardrobes in the 2nd bedroom ......found 2 lots of brandy, a bottle each of gin and vodka! They've been there since we redid the kitchen in 2008!!! :-0
David, that sounds a nasty pain.....I agree with Mandy......might be worth you getting a check up.
I think I will be taking down some of the decs tomorrow, I just want to get straight again now. At another garden centre today they were packing their Christmas things away.
Nightie night....

Frank. I'm not sure about Brownie Points! I only have 'busy' days when the mood takes me, and that's not very often!!!! Trouble is I have to get loads done, 'cos I KNOW that the 'busy' mood won't last. and won't be back again for some considerable time!!!! Today I shall start to take down the Xmas decs, but apart from that?!!! Better morning here so Merlin MAY be able to go back on his paddock, at least for a while; I think his yard is beginning to pall - we'll see!
