Ann you did make me laugh with your antics with your tin of soup.
It always happens when you are trying to be quick with something, dos'nt it.
Jane I usually do make my own soup it has just been while I am doing the wreaths as I hav'nt time to chop all the veg and also keep forgetting to buy some celery. I remembered today :-D :-D :-D
They do a good pea and ham cup a soup as I get that one for oh and he said it is tasty.

David, some of our offices were at Wallsend and Longbenton. I have not seen it but have heard the Child Benefit one is HUGE.... The amount of paper in those places must have been colossal too. It must have been quite a blaze when that place that burned down! Did they rebuild it?
Who is it in your new Avatar?
Mel I sometimes have the C*mpbells Chicken and veg cup a soup for something tasty and not too fattening....I add my own veg or left over ones to make it more filling and it is really tasty with a just a sprinkle of those dried fried onions stirred in too!!!
I have an early eye test tomorrow morning at B*ots on the retail park down the road. At least I should be able to park first thing as there were queues into it at lunchtime today. I thought if I need new specs at least if they are ordered now I should get them before classes start again after Christmas . The beads we've been using lately are getting smaller and smaller!! I seem to be tilting my head back looking at this screen too! :-S I dread to think what they will cost.........!!
Better get off to bed now, OH woke me a few times last night..........with his COUGH!! :-0 I think we both need plenty of zzzz tonight. Hope you all sleep tight. xx

Ann,I often drive past the one in Longbenton,it's enormous. Has to be the biggest complex in England. Before computers it would have generated a lot of paper, there used to be an army of clerks worked there. It's refered to as the ministy.

Ive need of glasses.Have several frames. When necessary I get a sight test at the opticians (which is free these days) then I take the prescription to a place I know cuts and grinds and fits the lenses for a fraction what the optician charges. Usually get them back the next day With the savings I buy a spare pair of reading and distance lens and frames.

Morning on this cold and frosty one,
Everything out there is white this morning. All glistening in the sunlight. Not the soap ;-) ;-)
Coo it was cold last night when I went down to feed the heggie. There was already a frost on the grass then and that was about 6 pm.
:-0
I bought a small Christmas tree in a pretty pot yesterday to put on mums grave. she loved Christmas so much and flowers just get blown away or die. It has a bit of gold glitter on it and it's sin a red shiny bucket.

Morning/Evening All Freezing Fog and very frosty/icy this morning. William thank you for your e card :-D
I have just taken our trolley to my neighbour as I am borrowing their tiny new freezer. It is now in the garage plugged in.Not much room for anything really but it will allow me to take my food out of their big freezer and give up space that I'm sure they want for Xmas food.
Just going to have some Porridge now :-D

That reminds me Liz I must order our pills too. Thanks...... :-)
Down the garden Hedgie had been out last night for some food but the tinned meat had frozen so only the dry food had gone. I had thought that when I put it out!! but left it anyway. The problem I have is that if I only feed dry food and it's water bowl freezes how is it going to get a drink? :-S

I have been away 24 hours and the anount of posts makes it look like a week !!!
Thanks Liz, our repeats should be ready this afternoon. Ros is going to a sewing thingy next to the Doctors, so she can collect.
Love and affection was not in my M & D. I only ever got "I dread the day GOD put breath in your body" a belt round the head, for not doing something, and treaded like a servant. Do this do that. Even on my first wedding day, she stood at her bedroom window shouting abuse as I walked up the path to get in the car. The neighbours were all out waving my off, if only she knew, what a spectical she was making of herself. When I meet Ros. My mother would ring to speak to her often on a Sunday morning asking "Has he asked you to marry him YET" When we decided to name the date, we went to her house to tell her. SHE BLANKLY refused to come to the wedding. On the morning of the wedding I sent a friend to pick her up. She refused to get in the car. Thats love and affection of a MOTHER. No wonder I have allways needed love and attention.
<3 <3 <3
Thick fog and ice here also. Tony the neighbour took me to the pub last night to watch the match, when we got in the car it was zero. When we came hame 2 hours later it was minus 3. and I think it got colder in the night.
Here's one little bunny who won't be going out.
Yesterday, Ros had things to do, SO I WENT WITH HER. We delivered a few more cards, got petrol, went round Tesc# M atala# TK Ma# We decided to visit the new Sainsbur## that has recently been revamped. Two tier parking all ground floor parking under cover, with loads of Blue badge areas. After having a good mooch around we decided to have a very late lunch early dinner 4.30 pm They were serving the Christmas Lunch. Turkey, stuffing, Yorkshires, carrots, brussels and roasts. To say the least is was HORRIBLE. The turkey you could see throught, the bruissels held a gallon of water. The roasts were stuck to the plate, and it was all very luke warm. Because we were hungry, and didn't want a scene, we ate what we could. I sent an Email to them last night. NOW wait for thew sparks to fly. !!!

Morning all, Very frosty and white here this morning , nice to see the sun though.
Just having five minutes and a drink i have been hoovering the bedrooms and having a bit of a dust, all this sun shows up all the dust !!! The front bedroom bed is covered in christmas presents ,i have wrapped a few and put under the tree but there's still plenty more to wrap ,i like to wrap a few each evening .
Ordered our tablets yesterday so we have enough over christmas ,just got to remember to pick them up from B*ots at the end of the week.
That will be handy Jane having the little freezer at least you'll be able to buy and store a few frozen bits in there ,which reminds me i must turn our spare freezer on ,that's just a small chest one that i use for over christmas .
I just looked up as i had the feeling some thing was watching me and there sat a huge Pigeon on the hanging basket looking in the conservatory window, as i got up to take a photo he flew off !!
Right next job here i come .....

Hello everyone. It was lovely and frosty first thing here and I could still see a crescent moon. Now it's damp and misty, can hardly see the main road. I put a line of washing out first thing hoping it would 'freeze dry' - I think now it will probably end up on the clothes airer later on :-\
Two lovely Jaquie Lawson ecards today, thank you Frank and Liz, I just love them and we will enjoy them over and over again.
We won't be going out today, it will be a day in snug and warm. Been wrapping more presents and getting our granddaughters 30th birthday card and present ready for December 20th. Where have all those years gone. We are very proud of her as she is now a school teacher plus being a Mum to our great-grandchildren Ralph and Maggie. Her husband is also a teacher so they should grow up very brainy kids.

Have just 'walked' to the village (!!) to buy M a b.day card, if I leave it I risk forgetting!! He's 48 on 22nd!! I find this quite difficult to get my head round! L was 44 last May! growing up fast I'd say!!!!!! M is off to South Goa on 23rd, with his lady friend for a couple of weeks, L is a bit miffed as she wanted a 'family Xmas', I can't say that we're that put out, so long as everyone has a happy day that's all that matters ! but she had, as she put it,' plans, we always keep a foot in both camps, in other words, never take sides, and if possible pour oil on any troubled waters'!! Still very foggy here, so it's Tetbury tomorrow. Frank, from what you are saying, I would think think that you would come into the same catagory as Ian, insomuch that his Granny once told me that he was a very unhappy little boy, from the sounds of it, you were too. His mother also said, what can only be described, as awful things to him. My mother said (and she admitted that she shouldn't!) that my MIL' was a thoroughly wicked woman and the less Ian and I had to do with her the better!' If she could have destroyed our marriage she would, jealously and bitterness are a poisonous mix!!

Forgot to mention this morning (DUMB HEAD) !!! I had a phone call at about 5.30 pm it was my Nephew. (Bills son who died in April) Came across his Fathers phone book, and thought he would give me a ring. Had a good old natter for ten minutes. Five minutes later my Niece rang, she had had a call from her brother. who suggested he knew someone who would like a call from her (ME ) again we chattered away. It turns out it's Garry's Birthday today 11th and I know it's hers tomorrow the 12th. She will be 57. She has 5 children and 6 grandchildren. Her youngest daughter has just given birth to a little girl. Susan and I were always very close when she was young. I took her a giant Teddybear on her 1st birthday. and when she was 21. I was on my own, so after being out for the evening I drove 2 hours to be at her party I arrived after MIDNIGHT. and stayed till three in the morning and drove back to Kettering. Oh to be young again, and be able to DRIVE !!!
THANKS DAVID, I have itchy feet now, have you passed it on ??? lol lol. I have a vein on the instep of my left foot, that is sticking up and itching like mad. I have tried a cold flanel on it, and keep rubbing it with my other foot.all to no avail.
Glad you have a freezer of sorts Jane, it will make it a bit easier for you.
I looked at my joint of Gammon this morning to see if it will be big enough . three and a half kilos. So that should be fine. They had some super gammons in Sainsbur#s yesterday. Was very tempted to buy one. !!! But don't need to bother now.
Ros is off in a minute to her sewing thingy, so T.V. can go off. I will get myself a bowl of soup and a roll and butter, and settle down with my book for a couple of hours.
