Don't know how that posted. As I was saying before I was rudely interupted !!!

She buys them from ZipVit. She just telephones the order in, and they are here in no time, and MUCH MUCH cheaper than the High Street shops. I also take the fish oil, and others on top of my perscritpion pills If you shake me I RATTLE.
It started here this morning with clear blue sky's but now it's clouded over.. The birds are all over the lawn, round the bird feeder, so they must be making a mess while eating.

Nice to know the Kitchen is coming along Jane. When it all done, we will have to have a KITCHEN WARMING PARTY lol lol.

David, When these accidents happen, we never know what damage they do for the future. Like you I have trouble staning up, after sitting to long. I tend to stumble, then manage to plant my feet firmly on the ground. As for kneeling down, I have to crawl to something to pull myself up again. I keep a chair on the lawn, for when I fall over. I can crawl to that and pull myself up.

Ann, You do seem to get a lot of tasks to carry out with your jewellery making. Ros has a couple of books and DVDs that she can read/watch. But I don't think it's as good as being shown what to do in real life.

Mel, It sounds as though you have more than one Hedgehog. A stage frightened one as well.!!!

Shirl, I do hope your hips don't play you up too much, now that the days are turning colder.

Hows our Kim today. ????

Have you noticed how some letters get left out of words. It's happened to me quite a lot lately.

Glad you are gting on with your tree Wil. It is nice when you find things you didn't know about.

Still in shorts today. Won't be going anywhere.

Roast shoulder of lamb tonight with various veg and roasties.

Aye it's no joke Frank
In 1994 I landed on my Rs after being hit by a Volvo
I sustained 4 pelvic fractures in the base of my pelvis
Pubic rami left hand and right hand anterior and posterior.
In addition I felt like my back and my legs were broken.
Suppose it was better than landing on my head?
If I'd been shunted into the path of a lorry or a bus I wouldn't be here to tell.

Afternoon everyone,

Not a bad day here have hung some washing out and its blowing well but i don't know if there's much dry out ,they are towels and they take some drying !!!

It's funny you all talking about tablets ,when the hairdresser came the other day she was saying that one of her ladies takes Green Lipped Mussel extract and how good they are so yesterday we bought some , we thought we'd give them a go , anyone else tried them ??
I was reading that even Toby can have them !! he's getting very stiff in his back legs after laying , so will give him some too.

I've got the chicken carcass stewing up ,i'am going to make some nice chicken soup with veg and lentils ,nice and warming .

Mel, i expect the word has got out about the lovely meals on offer in the garden at night ,you'll have hedge hogs galore !!! :-D :-D
I wonder how much longer before they start to hibernate .

Sounds as if the kitchen is coming on well now Jane with the paper going on soon, i see your keeping them happy with plenty of tea on tap :-D

Frank Report 7 Nov 2012 15:16

Mandy. I had those green lipped mussels for quite a time, in facted if my memory serves me right. You can buy the fresh Green lipped mussels.

Have just finished a book, the last few chapters took me back 54 years, when I nursed my dad with Cancer. Getting his dressings steralized in the oven, changing the dressings of the tubes in his back, emptying the bag on his leg, Staying at the hospital bedside night after night when he was in there. This book had it all. I have been so upset by it, and very depressed.

This morning something started me off, and I blew a valve. We had a blazing row, and I stormed out of the house threatening to leave for a few days. I spent two hours cooling off and getting cold on a bench by the canal. When I returned Ros decided she would go out to give me some space.

Sorry to unload on you, but I have no one else to let of steam too.

Turned VERY COLD OUT now. So I have put the heating on and a big jumper.
I suppose I will be wating HUMBLE PIE later :-D :-D :-D

Afternoon all,

Had a query about my tree this morning and got ingrossed. Hav'nt had an ask for a long while and hav'nt been on my Ancestry tree for years!! I always found the GR one easier to navigate but now I am not so sure.

We now think we have two small hedgies as one always goes into the box and the other one goes out our back gate into the field at the side of us. I put out two dishes of feed that a normal cat would'nt eat all of but it is all gone by 6am when oh checks the dishes. He saw the one at that time this morning and it went out the gate.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Nov 2012 15:37

Oh dear Frank. It was probably the story that brought everything back to you about your dad that made you blow a valve. Just try to think some nice thoughts and calm down a bit.

I was told by my doctor not to take the Chrondroitin. Don't know why but I think she said it had'nt been proved to work or some such thing. I know I bought some by mistake and had bad aching joints till I stopped taking them and got some of the usual ones.

I do find if I sit about a lot I can't get up if I bend down to see what is on the bottom shelves in the supermarket. I have had to pull myself up on the shelves a couple of times. I try to walk about more now and not sit at the pc so much.

Off down the wood now to see if I can find any cones for my Christmas Wreaths this year.

Jane Report 7 Nov 2012 16:02

Oh Frank.I think you did the right think taking yourself off to chill down, and Ros too .Hopefully by the time she gets home the air will have cleared.
I bet it was the book that triggered you losing it.I seem to remember once before you read something that took you back in time(I can't remember exactly what it was) and I recall it having the same effect on you like today.
Got a spare bed here :-D

I have just started taking Glucosamine+ Chondroitin to see if it will help my thumbs. They are the size of Horse Pills :-0

William

William Report 7 Nov 2012 17:16

Just sat here nodding away (not napping! - nodding in agreement) at Frank's latest email 'We was brung up proper'.
How very very true, I can relate to most of that. When Dad viewed where we were to live after we got bombed out of Stratford, there was a school just yards up the street. Before we could move in, Jerry dropped a landmine on it and razed it to the ground. From then it became our playground, rubble and all. Where the corridors used to be, there were still slabs covering a sunken trench that carried all the hot water pipes etc. We used to have great fun hiding and playing down there. Opposite there, there were three nissen type huts, abandoned after the war. They were built on the site of houses that were also destroyed by the land mine. They were another source of play area but I have to admit they did stink a bit. I think maybe they were used as 'lavs' at times - but hey, I'm still alive to tell the tale!!!
We also used to play along all the back alleys that ran behind all the houses. Very handy for scrumping in the summer. They were also territorial so you had to be carefull if you were going through another gangs patch. However, a chance meeting was more of a mock punch-up than anything and nobody got hurt, maybe just our pride.
Happy days, most of my toys were things like a wooden rifle made by my Dad in his shed. Anything else was pre-war and in a sad state.

Jane, I can recommend Devils Claw gel to rub on, it's worked for me on my poor old arthritic fingers. I got my from Holland and Barrett on line. It works out cheaper than trying to buy Devils Claw tablets.

Hi William!

Just put the hedgie grub out. There are three bowls tonight.

Oh made me a lovely acorn today. You can take the cup bit off and the acorn bit is hollow inside. both top and bottom are in different woods. Beech for the acorn and I think a bit of flowering cherry for the cup.

Clive Dunn has passed away aged 92.................. I liked him.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 7 Nov 2012 18:32

Oh dear Frank, hope you've calmed down now ,it carn't be good for you getting so worked up, best thing to do take yourself off to calm down ,but you might have found yourself some here a bit warmer than the bench by the canal!! :-S :-D

Did you see the beach hut for sale on the coast at Wells ...........only sixty nine thousand pound !! :-S a good high tide and it could be washed away !!

Yes i read that Mel about Clive Dunn , i liked him in Dads Army .

Annx

Annx Report 7 Nov 2012 19:41

Evening All,

I liked Clive Dunn too......great in Dad's Army.

It's funny how our knees seem to 'go' isn't it. I wasn't sure about the supplements after I read reports saying they had no proven benefit, so stopped them. After about 3 months my knees were getting worse, and I realised it might be because I stopped the Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM tablets. I tried them again and it worked! I think they are not advised for some depending what medical conditions you have or what medication you already take.

Frank that was the best thing to do.......a walk is good for calming us down and lessening stress. I can understand how things can trigger memories from the past and not always good ones. I hope you managed a fair bit of the 'humble' pie when you got back and that there is some left in case you need some more! :-D

Mandy, what a price for a beach hut!!! You could buy several caravans for that! :-0

We are off to the NEC Hobby and craft Fair tomorrow.......told OH he will probably get bored, but he still wanted to come!! I bet he will bring a newspaper with him and find a cafe!! It's expensive to get in, but it will be good to be able to 'see' the beads for sale and get the website details for the best ones to use in the future. A friend at class went last year and she bought loads!! :-0 We need to get there early as OH has to be at a school at 4.00pm in the afternoon.

Frank, I think the class is good for learning the techniques used and you pick up ideas from each other too......plus we have a good giggle!! The dvd sounds useful and I watch the demos on yo*tube too. I have found a few cheap useful books in the Wo*ks.

William I will have a look for Devils's Claw next time I am in town .We have a H&B there.
Well, I am well and truly stuffed.Chris said it was the best Fish and Chips he has had in a long time :-D.

My Dad made lots of my toys.He spent hours in the garage making them(all in secret)
A Dolls House,A Garage,Rocking Horse,String Puppet,Go Cart,Stilts.
Mum did all the sewing jobs like the bedding and covering for my little Bassinet. All my Dollies clothes.
When Hannah was a little tot Chris made a Farm for her and even made all the bales of hay etc.I think he mad James a Fort.

Frank I hope all is peaceful in the Bedford household this evening :-D

Chris has got to go to the Coroners Court tomorrow so is now getting notes and clothes ready.
and I have just found a little wet patch on the tiles in the utility :-S :-S.It is coming from a joint on a pipe running along the wall.Hopefully it will just be a tightening up job.Maybe it just got knocked .I really do not want to see any more little leaky bits.

I think it will be a fairly early night for me.My eyes are so sore.I think it is from all the dust etc. They feel all gritty and puffy.
So I will be turning of the pooter now and will say night night.x

Is it tomorrow Carmel goes for her biopsy on her tongue?......I hope it goes well and is not too traumatic for her.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Nov 2012 20:26

O no not another little wet patch Jane.Hope it can be sorted quickly. Not long now and you will have your kitchen back together again and you can get straight.

I have been watching Tales of the wild Wood on BBC4 on a Wednesday night. I quite like it. At least there is no swearing in it or sex.

Do you suspect,as I do,that there is no cure for arthritis.

There are so many lotions and potions and pills but they just alleviate some of the pain.

The people who market it must be making a fortune.
Some are prone to it,some are not.

My MIL was seriously crippled with the arthritis that attacks the immune system, had to have around the clock care for her needs.
