Frank Report 2 Nov 2012 21:29

Evening all,

Thought I would pop in before an early night. I don't feel top dog tonight.

Our little poodles had coats in the winter. Being small they felt the cold.

We have had BL###Y fireworks tonight as well. Gawd knows what it will be like tomorrow.and Monday. I just hope they don't go on into the late night.

Jane, Last time Pat went away I offered to have Mocha, but they thought he would be better amongst other dogs, and he wasn't House trained, and was chewing things. I am sure he will be fine.

Sorry Mel, Picture wending it's way as we speak. !!!!

The spade didn't do any harm to the draw front or the draw. I think beacause the blade is so wide, I just needed the leverage. Left a bit of mud on the floor, but I sweept that up :-D :-D :-D

See you in the morning.

God Bless all.

Jane

Jane Report 2 Nov 2012 21:38

Fireworks going on here too Frank .Chester is champing at the bit to get out......I know he will scream like a girl lol and then come running in.
You are out of sorts no doubt after your ordeal with the BIG KNIFE!! and drawer business.Have you put the spade away now???

MillymollyAmanda Report 2 Nov 2012 21:46

Oh dear Frank you have been having fun and games :-S :-D
Would love to have seen you having a go at the drawer with the SPADE !!
The swag is nice , i like the green coloring ,it will look good on the door.

Jane what a shame the tour for the Northern Lights was cancelled ,that's some thing i would love to see, lets hope the weather improves and they get to see them tomorrow .
How long have they gone for ?

There's fire works going off here :-S keeps making me jump!! Toby doesn't seem that bothered , but i think i will make sure they've finished before i let him out for his last wee!!

Pat , have a lovely holiday ,is it tomorrow you go ?

Annx Report 2 Nov 2012 21:51

Evening All,

I think there will be copies of those books in the charity shops next year David........especially when people want shelf room for the books they are given for Xmas!

Did Toby get straight on his new bed Mandy? I bet he thought 'thank goodness' when he saw this new one! lol.

Yes, I remember eating like a horse as a child and mum wondering where I put it all. I was always quite thin then though, seemed to run or skip everywhere I went!! Pity it isn't the case anymore. :-S :-S

Jane don't forget to check all your tile boxes when they come to be sure they are all the same. It sounds like you have a very busy weekend.........didn't I see cold wind and rain forecast?? :-S :-S Still when you move things back, hopefully it will be the last time for a long while. I can't imagine a 'bony' Chester......he was quite a sturdy little chap last time I saw him even though he was on the go a lot! lol. Maybe he will appreciate his warm coat this year.

The swag looks very nice Frank. We have a wreath, but I think a swag looks better somehow. That's good for Lewis that the teeth are out now...........did he want something from the fairies????? :-D

Pat we were in a charity shop today and overheard the staff talking about the discount they get. Do you get discount at your shop? I got a couple of necklaces to dismantle today and OH got himself another pristine book. He's running out of places to put them now!! I hope you have a nice holiday next week with lots of sun. :-D

Tomorrow I am going to a Fascinator making day course at the school up the road that our teacher is doing. Typical, the school has had a legionaires scare so as well as taking lunch with us we have to take our own drinks as well!

My dad would have been 92 today. FIL has already had 34 more years than he did up to now.......how much happens and changes in that space of time.

OH is shopping for MIL tomorrow.......we couldn't believe the things on the list!! Considering they assured us they had really stocked up with everything before she had her operation ...... they need loo rolls already? Everything was sooooo specific, even the colour and make of the loo rolls. Same with the food.....even written down the 'sell by' dates she wants on some things!!!

Annx Report 2 Nov 2012 22:25

Oh heck.....must keep my posts shorter!!!

The fireworks around here are because of Diwali as well.

Frank, I have done exactly the same with long knives in the drawer.......not the 'spade' bit though.

Bad news today.....the massive housing development of 4,250 houses looks like going ahead as the local council voted to agree planning permission yesterday. There have been over 2000 objections to it and so many wanted to attend the meeting they had to limit it by issuing tickets. The estimate is 7000 more cars on the narrow lanes around the village that already have half mile queues at peak time. :-S

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Not a bad morning so far. Some sunshine and blue sky but also clouds scudding across the sky.

Missed Autumn Watch last night so will have to see it on catch up tonight. They had a film someone sent in of the hedgehog in his garden.

Morning everyone
The way I free a stuck drawer is to remove the drawer below the one stuck and reach up and jiggle free the stuck drawer.

92 Ann,my Father was 94 two weeks ago a venerable age :-)

I can't get to my e-mails in Yahoo.
It's wanting me to put my nephews christian name in and when I did it still wouldn't open.I'd been using my paternal GM,s name as a password ,successfully until this morning.

Strange :-|

Ooo Ann that sound awfull for your village. They are wanting to put houses on a peice of land not far from us where there are lovely green feilds at the moment. All the house in that sort of village have big boards outside with notices painted on them saying no to houses keep our fields green.

Thanks for the pic Frank. It is really nice and the kind of thing I might buy if I saw one as nice as that even though I make my own. Where was the pic taken please? and were they tiles on the floor or lino? as I think it is the same as I bought for the caravan. Nice and warm looking..

Frank

Frank Report 3 Nov 2012 11:26

Morning all/Evening to our Kim.

David, I tried everything to get the B draw open, even tried getting to the draw runners with a screw driver.. I shook the draw back and forth, side to side. up and down. NO WAY would it move. Brute force and ignorance was the only answer.

Mel. You are very observeant. They are tiles in the conservatory, that I laid myself when I built it 12 years ago. All Ros's choice, I must add. !!! I The swag came from Costc#. If you have one near you, and know someone who is a card holder.

Enjoy your Holiday, Pat, and bring back some warmer weather.

Thats a real bummer Ann, 4,250 houses sounds a lot for an expansion, especially in a village area. Will they improve the roads to compensate for the extra traffic.
Don't think about reduceing your posts, you find so many things to talk about, I love them.

Bitterly cold North West wind this mornhing. I only went to the garage in my dressing gown, but the brass monkey came to mind :-D :-D

Ros is out as usual with Martine. We need some extra Veg as Harvey and Julia, with Lewis are coming to dinner tomorrow. Their cooker has blown up !!!!
Fortunately I have a very large Leg of pork joint, so no expence with joint. It's Lewis's favourite meat, so he will be pleased.

I don't know if Ros gave him FAIRY money yesterday, if not I will give it to him tomorrow.

David nice to see you still have your DAD with you at that age, is he keeping in good health, ???

Mel, I caught the end of nature watch, and saw the hedgehogs, and caught the the photos of the different objects. Then I was off to bed.

Hope the doggies are thrilled with their new beds/coats.. While going through the "JUNK" draw yesterday. I found a flea comb and collar. Harvey can have those for one of his cats.

Raining here now, so if this keeps up, perhaps it will keep the fireworks down tonight. Well you can HOPE

Chaffinches around the bird feeder this morning, and the Robin around the base, picking up the bits dropped from the trays. Starlings all over the lawn for Ham and bread that I threw out this morning.

See you later.

Afternoon everyone,

Bright here now after a small shower a while ago, haven't bothered to hang washing out today even though there is a bit of a blow, i think they would come in still wet .

Yes Ann, Toby loved his new bed ,he cuddles his head into the fur :-D
Oh dear all those new houses !! sound a lot for a village and all the extra cars too.

Have taken a chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow ,although hubby did say about us taking a ride out to the coast but i don't think the weather is going to be very good ,rain i think !!
Not sure what we will have tonight ,might be Chinese .

Hubby has gone into work this morning, just to finish off a job from yesterday and to get forward for next week , it's sons birthday on Tuesday and they are both taking the day off, he will be 35 !!!! where has the time gone .

Afternoon All
It's sunny here after just a little rain this morning. The tiles now will be here on monday morning when the men start work.I have just had a hoover around the lounge and moved the settee and armchair so we can bring the fridge in tomorrow.Chris is starting to clear the decks out in the utility.I will join him in a moment.

I took Chester to be weighed this morning and he has dropped another kilo :-S :-S

Hannah sent a pic this morning and the weather looks very different from yesterday,so hopefully their tour can go ahead tonight. They are there until Monday afternoon.

Well I had better get a move on or I will be being called Slack Alice :-S

Ann what pity those houses have got the go ahead Ann :-S :-S.We are all still holding our breath in our area and hoping that the start of the 5,500 houses here will stay on hold for a while yet.
Now I'm off>>>>> BBL

Annx Report 3 Nov 2012 16:05

Afternoon All,

Sunny here now after a rainy start. Just got back with my 'Fascinator' lol. The school was freezing in the room where we were and it has to be cold for me to say that........some didn't take their coats off. As well as the problem with drinks they told us when we arrived we couldn't flush the toilets and that a man would come around from time to time with a bucket to flush them!!! I said we should have all brought a whistle with us to summon him when needed. Gawd knows how the kiddiwinks have been managing in the week????Apart from that it was very enjoyable with us all making very different things using all kinds of material, flowers, feathers and beads. I asked a friend from the beading class if she had brought any of her chickens feathers with her.......she hadn't but I think they'd better watch out now I've planted the idea!!! :-0 :-0 Two ladies there were making Tiaras for their christmas pantomime they produce . Will send a pic later .

The new development will almost double the local population and take out 7 farms. I think there will be a real backlash about it now, as all the traffic it will bring will affect access to the motorway down the road and the retail park there. OH says, what with 2 more bungalows being built where we are and a field full of houses beyond that and now this, we are being 'marched on' from all sides!! :-S A bypass around the village is what is needed, but the development will be on the only land that could be used. Oh well, we'll see how it all pans out, I think it is to be built in stages over a few years.

David, your father is doing well at 94! Is he still in his own home?

Mandy, I can't stand some of those scented things. They can make you feel iffy or give you a headache. The vanilla ones are often ok, but you don't want your food scented with it if the smell won't wash off! :-S

Frank, you will be busy in the kitchen today then........I hope that knife survived the drawer incident! I must put my birdfeeder together and put it out. Those Chaffinches are such a lovely colour.

Had my cuppa now, so will pop out to do a couple of errands before OH gets home.

Done the church flowers. Took me ages...............did'nt get anything else done today at all and have only just decided to cook pasta for tonight with turkey ham and leeks and mushrooms and toms in a cheese sauce.

Firewroks going off over the back somewhere quite a long way away.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Nov 2012 18:06

Mandy you could try rubbing a lemon over your hands. That may take the smell away. I know when I had the shop the maggot man did that each evening when he got in as the smell of those was awfull and his wife made him do it before he came in the house.
