Sorry - I must be confusing you. No shoes on their feet Linda. Bare legged is expected in warm weather but I find it difficult to understand how anyone can walk around a shopping centre, car park etc with no shoes on.

Tec - the skirts are miniscule these days. Even shorter than the mini-skirts I used to wear.

I am off to bed now, I am tired because of the silly snow making a real racket when it slid off the roof. If it had only happened once, it wouldn't have been too bad, but as it happened twice just a few minutes apart, it woke me up for ages. It is minus four outside tonight,so it shouldn't happen tonight

Hello and goodbye at the same time Sue .....lol......I went off and got sucked into a game on Facebook ..... I really ought to stop playing the games on there , they are stealing to many of my hours : (

I'm usually barefoot in the garden and about the house in the summer time but I wouldn't venture over the shops like it .

Good night Linda , peaceful dreams to you .

~~~~~ to Berona .
I'm going to say goodnight thread and just sneak off for one more go on Facebook ......lol
Berona Report 11 Dec 2010 23:15
I answered a knock on my door, and chatted for a little while - then came back here and everyone is leaving us!
Good night and keep warm.
I thought that 'thongs'/flipflops were made for people who like to go barefoot - the safe way. Don't these people realise this?
Happy Sunday everyone:-))
Sue, I don't like bare feet either, its ok around the house:-) Not out in the street, I just don't like the look of it, plus what happens if you step in/on something yukky:-))
Linda, I love when you said your OH was all "smiley" by the end of the evening, never heard that expression before, love it!!
Tec, sending cwtches for your caraid Duchess, I hope she is feeling much better. Cwtches for you and Lanto, too:-)) Nos da, Tec. Oh and I love the swapping of baubles, you really are a softie:-))
Persey, this rabbit chasing is consuming Alfie, its getting beyond a joke - he wouldn't come for breakie this morning, I hope he gets bored with it soon. I may have to get something done with these pesky rabbits, I think!!
~~~~~~ to everyone:-))

Persephone Report 12 Dec 2010 04:56

I do bare feet in the house but the footpaths are too darned hot to even attempt it. Used to kick my shoes off at work and wander around the office in bare feet as well, but would slip my sandals or shoes back on to go upstairs or to the front desk.

Years and years and years ago when I was a teenager I was working at the Chief Post Office counter on a weekend and it was usually pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon in those days. I was sitting out the back with my legs stretched out and crossed and had on these nifty lace up black boots. This very nice young American Sailor appeared at my counter, I rushed to stand up and go out and serve him. The bobble things on the end of my shoe laces got entangled and I went straight down again and disappeared. He was over that counter in a flash - Oh honey are you alright etc. What could have been disastrous was quite charming really. Thank goodness it was the weekend - I had stretch trews on - during the week we had to wear skirts or dresses.

Loved the Cockroache story Berona; my MIL who was always so precise one called a chap by the name of Dromgool "Mr Drogmule" My FIL thought it was hilarious.

Well it rained last night and now the humidity has kicked in - really sunny out and too darned hot and sticky as well to go outside and play even though it is nearly 6pm.

I am about to start cooking tea so have fans on and windows and doors open etc. Phew

~~~~~~~~~~ to Alfie - you are doin' a corker job their mate.
Carolee Report 12 Dec 2010 08:46
Persey,
Oh dear, you made me laugh:-)) Sooo, was the sailor really that nice looking?
You should be having something cool for dinner, its quite the opposite here, on the coolish side.
Sue, the opening of our thread, you sound soo posh:-)) Veuve Clicquot champagne, Ive never tasted it, is it nice?
OH and I received a bottle when M was born, but never got around to drinking it. It's still sitting in OH's wine rack. Does champagne go off, I wonder? It would be over 19 years old.
Carole, who is still smiling, Persey xxxx
SueMaid
SueMaid Report 12 Dec 2010 09:06
Hello Miss Carole - Persey makes me laugh too. That is such a good thing - to bring a smile to someone's face:-))
I don't know if champagne goes off. I've never Veuve Clicquot champagne before so can't tell you if it's nice. I'm not really a champers drinker - much prefer a nice moscato.
It's been hot, humid and sunny here today but I'm not complaining because it's nice to see the sun after so much miserable weather. We had a visit from the grandchildren today and they helped us "decodate" the tree. They decided to hang two bags of candy canes on the tree all at once and then they sat down and enjoyed one each. Joel said he loves our tree. I said I love him and he replied - with a sigh - that he knows I love him. When I asked why he said because I give him lots of kisses and cuddles and I make pikelets. Aren't they priceless?
Berona
Berona Report 12 Dec 2010 09:12
Carole - I don't know much about wines but if you hold the bottle up to the light and the bottom of the bottle is clear, I would say it's OK. Even a little sediment is OK, I understand (but don't quote me). If the bottom is murky - I wouldn't use it.
Carolee
Carolee Report 12 Dec 2010 09:19
Hello sweet one:-))
They are priceless, Joel sounds such a sweetie:-)
Now, every new post you make seems to appear in the opening of the thread, have you noticed?
One of these days, you and I are going to share a nice bottle of Moscato - Brown Brothers is my favorite, not that I'm much of a drinker, mind, but I'll share one with you!!
Hello Berona,
Sorry, we posted at the same time:-)
Do you like Champagne, Berona?
I'll have to check the bottle, I'll let you know - though it will be very dusty and I'll probably sneeze a lot, lol !!!!
Carolee
Carolee Report 12 Dec 2010 09:29
Berona,
The bottle is fine, its now sitting on my desk, sneeze!!
Its called, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, and its French - very posh!!
I'm still not going to open it, its a keepsake.
SueMaid Report 12 Dec 2010 09:51
Oooh - I love Brown Brothers Moscato. We'll share a bottle for sure, Carole. When we were on our cruise we got a taste for cocktails - I tried a few different ones:-)) I'm not a big drinker but I always enjoy Christmas Day because I don't have to watch what I drink. I don't have to drive mum home because she stays with us for a few days although she only lives 15 minutes away.
