lol, I didn't have that much.
We started off with a bottle of Champagne as you do, then I only had a couple of small glasses of wine. I didn't drink much because I was hostessing,so wanted to stay on task. I must say OH was looking very "smiley" by the end of the evening

Good Morning Berona,

Nice hot steaming cup of coffee coming up, in a bone china cup of course.

Louise must have deduced who you were Mrs B - But at least is someone you have known, and presumably will be discreet about your identity.

Tec....10-55pm.

Good evening Berona and Sue.

So you expect a Cordon Blue meal Sue... quickly books a table at the local restaurant

I have a small bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne that we will have a drink of on Christmas Day. It was given to us for our anniversary but we didn't feel like drinking it so thought it a waste to open it.

OH put up the outside Christmas lights yesterday. They looked very festive last night so I now feel a little more Christmassy. Today we will put up the tree as the grandchildren are visiting. Joel told me that he can "decodate" a tree so we'll allow the little ones to help. When I asked Drew if he would like to put the angel on the top of the tree he said "no way, Mister" - don't know where that came from lol

Some of my children's old friends still call me Mrs no matter how many times I tell them that they are grown up now and can use my first name. I trained the mother of one of my old school friends to be a volunteer and I found it very hard to call her by her first name:-))

Good Morning Sue,

Hope the sun is out again today for you.

Shall we all descend on Linda for dinner?

Good try Tec, but we are all coming to see you

Tecwyn Report 11 Dec 2010 22:05

Sue I like that word decodate - sounds like an antique dealers speak. Dating an Art Deco piece.

I think you need to explain to the young man that you are a Missus, not a Mister. lol
I expect someone has said that to him at school possibly

Tec.

Good morning Sue - another hot one coming up here - probably the same with you?
I need to get out to water pots, and do anything else requiring the use of energy before it runs out - usually at around 11am.

Amanda - watch the little one. As said before, they go down and up so quickly, we can't be sure of anything with them.

Thanks for the coffee, Tec - just the way I like it.

Having the little ones help you decodate the tree sounds fun Sue.If you have any delicate glass baubles, I would keep them out of the way

I'm going to make my supper now.

SueMaid Report 11 Dec 2010 22:11

Decodate does sound good Tec.

Sorry Linda won't be cooking for you as we are hiring a bus and landing at your house. Better warn the Duchess:-)) As Linda said - good try.

Yes Berona - another warm one but with glorious sunshine. I did loads of washing yesterday - towels, bedlinen etc. and opened all the windows wide to let the fresh air in. The sunshine really lifts the spirits and although the heat is a little oppressive I am still feeling energetic.

The little ones won't be touching a good few of my decorations but there are some they can put on the tree. I have a lovely Christmas house ornament that lights up. For the first time I can put it on my table in the lounge as the children have gone past the "touching" stage. What a difference a year makes.

I am just looking round this room and it is not in the least child friendly.Little Eve would have a field day. not that she can move yet

Berona Report 11 Dec 2010 22:20

Hope I haven't told this before. My Mum was active with the Mothers' Club when my young brother was in Kindergarten. The ladies in the club all called each other Mrs.********. (full surname).
After they eventually dropped out of the club, Mum often passed one lady in the street and they would acknowledge each other with Mum saying "Hello Mrs. Cox" but they didn't stop to chat.
After a few years, she told me that she was "chatting to a lady to-day and Mrs. Cox walked past. I said hello to her and my friend later said that her name was Mrs. Roach, not Mrs. Cox. I wonder what made me think all this time that she was Mrs.Cox?"
When I laughed and linked the names Cox and Roach - I have never seen my Mum so embarrassed!

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 11 Dec 2010 22:25

That is funny Berona, I hope the lady in question didn't work it out

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 11 Dec 2010 22:32

Oh dear - I can just imagine the look on your mum's face.

I went to the shops yesterday for a few bits and pieces. I know this is the first warm weather we've had in a long while but I couldn't help notice a couple of women were out shopping in bare feet and their children were bare footed too. I must be getting old.

You mean with no shoes on Sue?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 11 Dec 2010 22:41

No shoes, flip flops just bare feet. I guess I can't understand it because I couldn't do that.

That'snothing - the young ladies round here go out and forget to put their skirts on - most unsettting.

Oh you mean bare legged Sue, well if it is warm I understand.
Tec, they do have skirts, just short ones lol
