Fish fingers and custard?

I was wondering what to do for dinner tomorrow Linda, you've given me an idea, thank you lol.

Good evening to you Tec........ I don't think I like the sound of fish fingers and custard .....lol

Your very kind to the children on your road , I think it is lovely and must help to build a community spirit .

I haven't been out amongst the shoppers today , other than a very brief visit to a local garden centre / general purpose shop, just to pick up some night time biscuits for the hounds .
I've had a nice quiet day as it happens which was needed after the decoration hanging of yesterday .....lol
We did have to do a " mission of mercy " run this morning , with essential supplies ( ie Lucozade , Calpol , and sweets ) , poor Daisy is running a fever and being sick , so eldest daughter couldn't get out to the shop . Daisy was layed on their sofa looking tragic and silent , hopefully she will be back to her loud bouncy self tomorrow .

Linda ...... I like English " tropical" evenings .....lol

Oh dear Amanda, poor Daisy, but children bounce back so quickly, she is hopefully fine by now

I hope so too LInda , I've just been reading that Swine Flu is doing the rounds again , I hope she doesn't have that , I don't think I'll say anything to my daughter just yet , as I wouldn't want to panic her , hopefully Daisy will be feeling better tomorrow .

Amanda, I hope very much that little Daisy feels better tomorrow, give her a hug from me (a cwtch) is a Welsh hug. Pronounced Cootch.

There is a great community spirit here, I suppose because it's a small village of only 400 people, with just 29 children aged from 4 to 11 in the village school.
This summer I broke up a concrete path and hired a skip to get rid of it. I had only just started to wheelbarrow the concrete to the skip over quite a distance and thought it would take forever because it was so heavy. A local teenage boy stopped to ask what I was doing. When I explained he walked off, but within 15 minutes was back with three other lads, and his dad with a small tractor and a mechanical bucket. They told me to stand aside, and the whole job was done in half an hour. They really worked hard and even swept up after them. The job would have taken me two days I reckon. That is the kind of people they are here. Nice people.

Tec - that's the country spirit. It doesn't seem to exist in the cities.

My children's friends grew up calling me "Mrs. B*****" which gradually changed to "Mrs.B" (just the initial) as they got older. I am on FB under a different name and recently wrote on my daughter's FB Wall "Say hello to Louise for me". Next time I looked on her Wall, Louise had written "Hi Mrs.B". I haven't seen her for about fifteen years, but she still calls me that. It means I am not very 'incognito' too, doesn't it?

Poor Daisy - I do hope she's feeling better soon. Children go down very quickly but bounce back up quickly too.

Tec - you must be well loved by the youngsters. I love that you allow them to choose a bauble each year.

We've just found out that the young couple next door are expecting a new arrival next July. They are such good parents to their little girl so I'm sure they will cope well with another little one. It's a shame the young woman doesn't have her mum and two stepmums who constantly compete but she does very well and her husband is a hands on dad.
